It was a really nice morning for our stroll along The River. A nice cool breeze. When we came home I got the front garden weeded, the lawn trimmed and cut. At one point they were calling for showers early tomorrow morning so I trimmed and cut the back too. Three lawn bags full of grass!
Glad to hear that you finally got your tomato plants Kathie. I hope they give you a bumper crop right through the growing season. One of the weather services says the air quality is poor. Another says it is good. I don’t think they know!
I think a nice glass of wine would make it all better.
Hi Karen and Mike.

If I put together the three weather services I check it’s going to rain from 8:00 am right through to 6:00 am tomorrow. Or not. I feel so bad for people trying to make outdoor plans.
Hopefully the weather, wherever you are, cooperates with your plans.
Not much new at this early hour on a Sunday so I will wish you all a good, safe day. I’ll pop by later on to check on everyone.

Happy Good Morning GIF by EleonoraKuz
Hope everyone is going to have a wonderful day.

So far the "HAZE" is a little better here in our neighborhood. But, I did see something saying it was going to be back later in the afternoon. I had our air purifier on since about 4:00 pm yesterday and it was showing the air in the house was
POOR. Funny that a machine can sense your financial statis! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: When I went by the machine this morning it had gotten in the GOOD area. I did put the large vase full of Peonies outside on the porch and a smaller one too. Maybe that helped. My eyes are a TAD less "scratchy" this morning too. So, I'm thinking the flowers were the culprit!

Mark is now in Taipei hopefully sleeping off his 13 hour flight. It's a 12 hour time difference there. Tomorrow, he fly's to a part of China. Let's all keep Mark in our thoughts and prayers while he's so far away from home.
He did send a picture of his flight meal and it looked very good. They had a menu to choose from various things. I haven't been served a meal on a plane in decades. But then again, I don't fly far enough to get that service.

Not sure what's on the "TO DO" agenda for us today. Wouldn't mind taking a drive along the waterfront going towards Port Huron. Just depends on the HAZE.

Have a safe and fun day folks.

I was going to have Michael do some outside work for me today but it poured last night and the ground is muddy, What I will try now is just dig small holes just large enough to plant some seed.
I hope the haze continues to clear up for you K2. It is sunny for a minute here then cloudy. It is supposed to get cool the the next few days. Did you get your drive in and tomato plants planted,
It sounded like you had a very busy day yesterday Lee, did you sleep well last night? You are probably right, a glass of wine will make everything better, a cup of coffee helps too. I think I will have a cup of coffee, join me?
Hi Karen

Well now Mike, that was a darned fine cup of coffee. Thank you. I suspect Karen wishes that they would see some of the rain we’ve had over the past few days.
Funny that a machine can sense your financial statis! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
That line cracked me up Kathie! Well done.
How did the service go today without a choir director Karen?
Environment Canada says it feels like 86F here in The Burg with the humidex and the air quality is moderate. Our friends in Alberta said their air is terrible and the sky has an eerie orange glow.
That’s about all for now. Have a good rest of the day!

Karen: How ya doing girl?

Air quality is still not good outside. And then we have the NASTY
Cottonwood Trees that decided to add to the pollen war by BURSTING out their seeds. Darn things are flying around everywhere. Not much sense in doing my screens and window washing for the next few weeks. ALWAYS SOMETHING!

Stopped by the Italian veggie market to get some fresh sliced lunchmeat and just had to have a AFENGOTO espresso drink. Almost as good as having a good Bloody Mary. :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Affogat-step-4-740x1110-inside-the-rustic-kitchen.jpg
THAT' a shot of hot Espresso being poured on top!

Lee: See if one of your "Coffee stops" has that. Gelato of your choice w/espresso on top!

Mike: I did get all my tomato plants planted and watered. Now to wait about 65 days for them to show up on the vine. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

That's it for now folks.

Good morning Wrabbits!
I watched the Big Orange Sun rise this morning and then it disappeared!
Thanks for the video Lee. That’s really a Oldie! :emoticon 0111 blush:
Thankfully Detroit had a successful “PRIDE” awareness parade downtown.
No riot or crazy stuff for a change. Just lots of strange outfits and wild hair colors!
Off to get ready for a gal from choir who will be stopping by this morning. Somebody borrowed my choir blouse costume for the Festival in Aliquippa a week ago and she wants to return it.
It rained just a little last night around 1 AM. I turned on the deck light and a huge BLACK cat ran a ross the deck. One week it’s a Raccoon and last night a huge cat. Hard to believe I actually use to sleep in a tent on the grass when the grandkids were little! :emoticon 0104 surprised:
Later gang. Karen careful with this week with your high 90’s temps!

Good morning, going to make this quick since I'm still not caught up reading what I missed while I was offline.
Kathie, it was actually nice here early this morning while I was outside watering my plants. A nice cool breeze and low humidity for now!
Lee, you really have a knack for finding songs to get our day off to a good start!
I wasn't at the 10:30 service today so I'm not sure how it went. They've been using the canned music but the congregation doesn't keep up with it very well. So on the 22nd our group will be leading the service with a guitar accompliment.
Mike, so far I've gotten 4 little tomato's off my plant, I wish they didn't ripen one at a time. What kind of seeds did you plant?

Been busy working at Jane's mowing early in the mornings & yesterday I had to go over after church because her kitchen sink faucet wouldn't shut off. She called me Sat. night and said she had to turn off all the water to the house because the hot side was leaking more than the cold. I managed to get the water turned off under the sink, so she at least has water to the rest of the house. We ordered a new faucet & "hopefully" we can get Southern Plumbing to install it this week. Last I heard their service guy retired & they were only doing service calls in "batches"

Going to Carmen's later this morning, she wants to give me a body perm, why I have no idea other than she is a former beautician & see's me as a project. She already said I'm not paying her, so I will talk to her daughter & find out where she likes to eat or shop & buy her a gift card.

Well, that about catches me up for now, I have some pics to post later of my tomato plant & my afghan that I finished for the church. Have a great Monday all!

Lots of fluff from the poplar trees in the air today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a better day for those with allergies.
A huge thumbs up to all the folks in and around Detroit for allowing the Pride festival to go off with no shenanigans. Aside from the outfits and wild hair. When I was a kid I used to sleep in the backyard in a sleeping bag on a lounge chair on hot summer nights Kathie. We didn’t have AC back then. I don’t even know if AC had been invented! None of our local coffee shops serves gelato but that beverage sure looked good!
Would you believe that song was from 1966 Karen! I don’t think any of us were born then, were we? When I look at my wrinkly body I suspect I’ve had a full body perm. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Southern Plumbing has become a shadow of itself since you left.
How are tricks in your neck of the woods Mike? Is it going to be warm enough for you today?
Monday games day is a callin’ so I best get ready.
Everyone enjoy the rest of the day.

Well I can't wait to see pictures of our Karen with a curly Doo! If anything it will give your hair body to make it through the humidity and heat of the Summer.

Lee: You can get a scoop of regular ice cream and have a SHOT of Espresso poured over it.
You could save a lot of Money $$$$ just by buying your own ice cream and making a real strong coffee and pouring it over the ice cream.

We drove around looking at more houses with colors of siding from this on company that did a lot of houses in Macomb area. It was good to see the colors and styles on an actual house.

It's funny because 2 contractors called and left messages to see if we have made up our minds yet. WE SURE DID on both of those!! Too expensive. The one guy wouldn't get the job even if he had a lower quote because I had to call him back 3 times to finally get the quote e-mailed to me. He didn't know who he was dealing with. Ha Ha.

Okay, I'm out of here for now. Tomorrow I go to consult with Jordan the Physical Therapist I saw for my knee. Then after that I go to see Manny. With Mark out of the country and the rest of them working outside of the house.......POOR SPOILED MANNY would be alone all day.
And I bet he would do just fine, but I don't mind going over there and playing around with him. I have to go to the store and buy a box of good old fashion MILK BONES to take some with me. Yup, I add to him being spoiled.

Enjoy your day.

It was pouring this early afternoon, I haven't checked the rain gauge but it should be interesting tomorrow morning when I check it.
Karen, it looks like you are going to get a lot of tomatoes this summer, hope they are nice and sweet.
Lots of fluff from the poplar trees in the air today. Great Lee, I have a poplar tree fairly close to t he house in our back yard. The neighbor across the street has a large one, I used to sleep on our porch in the summer. We didn't get air ;until 1972 and Cinci can get pretty hot.
K2I used to see some large cats in our back yard, when ever I opened the back door they would ru n away. I wanted to get friendly with them but no chance.

Good morning.
A good idea to drive around and compare siding and colours Kathie. You really can’t tell from a little sample and / or a photo. Maybe Jordan will tell you short walks with, oh, say dog would be good for you. I bet Manny would agree.
It looks like you have lots of blossoms on you tomato plants Karen. I was reading that some farmers in FL and CA are plowing tomatoes under because they don’t have workers to pick them. It looks like a lot of work in your Afghan. How many hours does it take to create something like that?
Lu-Ann and I got our first window air conditioner in 1982 when we lived in the apartment Mike. We took it with us to our first little house in Kitchener. When we moved to Ayr we finally had central air. I don’t think it’s even an option in new builds now.
It’s supposed to feel close to 80F today. Mid 90’s tomorrow. Tomorrow’s a tad too warm for me.
Everyone have a really, really good day.

Quick check in from Pure Michigan. (hence a tad Hazy too)

I read yesterday that if you have those nice little Yellow Flowers that appear on tomato plants that turn into Red Tomatoes you can just SHAKE them and they will pollinate themselves. Seems like they have both male and female pollen and just need to mix with each other and if you TAP them they will be sure to self pollinate. Let me know if any of you actually try this method. ;) ;) ;) ;)

You all have a good day. I'm off to start my BUSY day.

And Lee......I'm sure Manny would agree that a long walk would benefit both of us! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Later gang.

K2, tomatoes are selfpollinting. I gently shake my plants every day. If the weather is hot and sticky they won't polinate. I don't know about Mich. but Fairfield can get pretty humid and sticky. I have shaken my plants for years.
Lee, our temps for tomorrow are supposed to be 86, glad we live in the south. Trump sending alll the workers back to Mexico. We have been warned, that is what is going to happen. Luckily we grow our own and we have h;ydrophonic grown tomatoes and salad greens .in our area.
hope the rest of the day is a nice one for everyone'

A little running about this morning. My gosh groceries are getting crazy! We got two nice pieces of salmon and that was $14. Not that long ago you could get salmon fillets on sale for $3.50 each. Oh well.
We played a good old fashioned trivia game yesterday. One of the questions had to do with an actress and dancer from a long time ago and a band leader. Lucy and Desi? Nope. Thanks to Karen for mentioning her friend Carmen I was spot on with my guess…Carmen Miranda and Xavier Cugat. Of course I knew Jimmy Buffett had a song called “They Don’t Dance Like Carmen No More”. It took me a bit to find the song with Carmen and Cugie. I’ve always liked the tune. I hope you all do too. It starts just after Jimmy’s intro…
Hi Mike. Just missed you. I didn’t know that about tomatoes. Once again, an old dog, me, learns a new trick.

Lee nice job finding that video. They don’t make like that these days. Love when you can actually understand the words!
THE USA again is an embarrassment to the WORLD. Get rid of ICE and Trump and add that Kennedy guys too. It’s a F’ing mess and we are only 6 months in with this jerk. Hope all that voted for him with the thought of saving TAX money are happy. My thoughts are SAD for everyones grandkids and young children having to deal with the future.
Okay enough of this. Sorry to dump on my Hutch family.

Manny was very happy to see me! Brought me a sock!
I’ll go see him again tomorrow. I bought a box of MilkBone dog biscuits and he got to go through his tricks to get a treat. Of course, he basically napped most of the time.

I had a good session with the Physical therapy tech. I’ll be going 2 time a week.

THAT’s it for me. I opened the windows here and we have a nice breeze coming in. The Cotton Wood fuzzie’s have calmed down today.
Siding we looked at on houses.
