I hope Karen can get her cable service repaired before too long.
Did you get your posies planted before it got too hot K2????
Lee, I grew up with t he swing, crooners and dixie. Some country songs are similar to our old music. I really haven't listened to a lot of music in a long time. Are you going to get some of the smoke?????
Fay and I straightened our gate that the guys that cut our tree down moved some. We just had to reset the hinges. I was surpised that the nut/bolts weren't rusted so bad we couldn't undo them. It got up to 89 and I'm glad we got the gate finished before it got that hot.
I hope it is nice and warm for everyone but not too warm.

Thanks for Karen’s breaking news update Kathie. We would worry.
Good for you and Fay getting that gate reset Mike. Especially before the heat of the day. I enjoy temps around 75F with little or no humidity. They say that we are getting some smoke from the fires. It is suggested that folks with breathing problems stay indoors for now.

LEE, They are saying we are getting smok way down here in the Cincinatti area and people with breathing problems should stay inside. I need about 80 to stay comfortable.

A wet start to the morning. We were under a tornado watch for a while in the early morning hours! I guess emergency alerts don’t make a sound when your devices are on “silent” or “do not disturb“ overnight. That’s not good!
I suppose I could do 80F if it wasn’t humid Mike. I’ve never been a fan, even as a kid, of extreme hot and humid.
We did get all of the baseboards, door trim and most of the touch up done on the nail holes. We were going to go back this morning and get the vents put up and the door hardware installed but something came up so we’re on hold. More “As The Basement Turns” later.
Hopefully all of you are having a good and safe day.
Talk to you later.

Good Mid-Morning Hutch Mates.

Hope that Karen gets her computer up and running soon. We can't afford to have
an empty Cubbie in this Hutch! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Mike: I did get the plants and tomatoes planted and even put 4 small potato plants in the
fenced in garden. I didn't fuss with the earth and the spidery roots from the Maple tree in that area, I just dug a hole and wished them well. :emoticon 0136 giggle: I give Art all the credit in the world for being able to work in the HEAT and even more for BIKING in the heat.

We have seen some overcast from the Canadian Fires. I don't smell it like some folks, so it can't be too bad here right now. Feel bad for our Canadian friends living close to that burn out.

Lee: I get the feeling that your O.G.C. gang is way over this project by now. Time to get unionized or just quit!

We had almost ALL the windows open last night and slept like babies. Even the light rain didn't bother us. It's nice to get the house all aired out.

Time to refresh my cup of coffee. I had a urge to make Coconut Macaroons late last night and they actually turned out good. So, I'll be having one with my hot coffee.

Join me for a cup!
I didn't make them like this picture! I used a bowl.

You all enjoy the day.

Is that coconut macaroons I smell? It is! I’d be even bigger than I am if Lu-Ann baked as many goodies as you do Kathie. I guess by Walmart standards I’m not big. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Many of the freshly planted flowers at The Navy Yard suffered a pretty nasty beat down from last night’s heavy rain. It’s amazing how resilient they are. With a little sun they’ll mostly be back on track.
Lisa, Lu-Ann, Ava and I were sitting at Flow at 12:15 when my phone “blew up” with air quality warnings. Lisa and Lu-Ann had been to chair yoga just across the street at The Legion.
Flow is a neat cafe / high end bicycle shop downtown. I think Art would love it!

Yesterday was probably one of the best days the guys have had in Jim’s basement in weeks. I think it had to do with voicing our frustration last week. We all had tasks yesterday, stuck to them and got so much more done. The light at the end of the tunnel is was no longer an oncoming train. Stay tuned, as Paul Harvey used to say, for “The Rest of The Story”.
Hi to Mike and Karen.

Quick check in, the nice lady from Spectrum cable got my new equipment delivered today, I called around 2:30 to get an appointment for a service tech to come do the set up & was told he could be here between 3-4 today! Wow, super nice guy from the Cayman Islands, got all the new equip. up & running & even took back my old equip. so I wouldn't have to make a trip to the store.
Need to fix a quick bit to eat & then head out to choir practice, we don't have a director yet but we have a praise group that leads music at our Ultreya potluck dinners which is mostly all choir members so we will be leading the service music on Father's Day. It's good to be back ya'all!

Hai Hello GIF

Hiya Karen!
It sounds like you had a great customer service experience with Spectrum.
It is really hazy here, due in part, to the smoke from the fires out west. Our air quality warning has been extended through mid day tomorrow.

Welcome BACK....Karen or is it (Carter) Ha Ha.
Good to know you got quick GOOD service. Did you change carriers?

Lee: Sometimes it pays to speak up.

We had a new visitor to the CREEK this afternoon.
I was talking to Art down by the garden area and looked over to see a HUGE TURTLE swimming up the creek. (no pun intended) By the time I got back with my camera he had seen me and went under in the water. I waiting around and just as he was coming back up a DUCK fly's into the water and he went down again. I'll post some pictures later from my cell phone.
Seems my pictures are not connected to get transferred to this LapTop.

The SMOKE is really bad today around here. If you look down the main streets you would think it's raining further up the street, but it's just the haze. Suppose to be gone by tomorrow.

Out of here for now.

Got the last estimate for the siding and our 1st house didn't cost this much! CRAZY. We'll have to keep looking. No matter what type of siding we put on this house we'll be dead before it ever causes any issues. :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Picture time! Skip over if it gets out of hand!

Note the TURTLE is under the water. Enlarge if you can to see it better.

Swing that the grandkids use to swing on.
Then a flower nursery we went to earlier.
LEE: Check out the price of a medium sized planter. $99.00!
Crazy.

Okay, that’s it for the slide show. Ha ha.

Good hazy morning.
This was the first morning I could actually catch a little smell of the smoke in the air. It’s hard to imagine smoke and the smell from fires over 1,000 miles away could affect our area and beyond.
The image of the turtle makes it look like a gigantic prehistoric creature Kathie! I’m guessing that if that planter included the stand and was $99 CDN I might think it was a good deal. It looks to be a good size.
The rain and heat sure made the grass look shaggy. It was too wet yesterday to cut. It may rain this morning around 8:00. If it does I likely won’t get it cut today. Even if it dries out it could feel into the mid 80’s. With the air quality that’s no time to be out with the lawn mower.
You all have a great day! Remember when we were working and used to get excited because it was Friday and we had the weekend coming?

Lee: The STAND was EXTRA! Like $34 bucks extra. There were about 10 plants inside that pot.

I could smell the smoke yesterday and definitely saw the HAZE in the air. It's supposed to pass through by tomorrow.

Well, sure wish our dear buddy Fr. DAVE was around to give us his viewpoint on Elon vs Trump
Just when you think things have calmed down OUT POPS even crazier news. I did get a real HOOT out of the German Chancler sitting in the Oval Office w/Trump and handed him a gold framed picture of Trumps Fathers Birth Certificate. He was born in Germany. Smells big time of a HUGE JAB telling the T-man his father was an Immigrant. :clap002: Nice work Chancler! :clap002::emoticon 0136 giggle:

Not sure what we are going to be doing around here today. It's GLOOMY and the sun is not supposed to show until around 4:30 pm.
Art bought 4-pk of beans and peppers yesterday at the flower nursery. I went along hoping to find 1 or 2 Cherry Tomato plants, but they're all gone. If you snooze --- you lose!

Have a good day all.

Karen: How's the new equipment doing so far?

Thanks for posting all the pictures K2. I had to look twice to see the turtle.
I think you are right about staying inside because of the air quality Lee. I hope the air quality is better by now.
Pattie came over yesterday and she and Fay went shopping. Michael is coming over later this evening and may do some work for us tommorrow.
The computer reads 84 degrees outside and it sure doesn't feel like it.

I ventured out just now at 5:00 pm and the HAZE is worse than any other day this week.
I can actually smell it today and my eyes are burning when I was out in the yard earlier.
Hope anybody with lung issues is staying inside their homes.

Art got his Beans and Pepper plants in the garden. Looks like a real garden now. :emoticon 0136 giggle:

I got our entire bedding washed today. right down to a bare mattress. Some of the blankets got hung over the deck railing and dried fast. The rest went into the dryer. Should make for nice sleeping tonight.

Okay, off to make us some fish for dinner. Doing it on the grill outside. I don't want FISHY SMELL inside today.

Just about the time, 5:00, you wandered outside Kathie Detroit and Windsor had hit the top of the “Worst Air Quality in THE WORLD!” list. Our warnings ended last night but our air quality is still “poor”. I will be wanting to get at least the front grass cut this morning before we see the mid 80’s this afternoon.
I think our afternoon high was about 14 degrees cooler than your 84F Mike. Normally I would have opened the windows but they were suggesting you keep them closed because of the poor air. I wonder if there’s rich air?
How did the choir session go Karen?
I think I hear a cup of coffee calling me. Sometimes in the morning I’ll make a smaller cup so I can have a cup with my sweetie when she gets up.
Everyone have a delightful day!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits. Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

Lee: It's no wonder my eyes are "scratchy and burn a tad".

Going to go to one last Flower Nursery to try and find Cherry Tomato plants. Seems like they're all sold out already.

I have nothing much to add right now. 74F and Sunny. Be safe and have a good day.

Our Son-in-law, Mark, is on his LONG, LONG flight to China! I'm going to track his flights.
There is NO WAY I could sit in a plane for 14 hours straight. Bless this good soul. Praying for safe travels for him and his fellow workers.

Found those "Cherry" Tomato plants.
Had to buy a 4 pack, so we'll have more than plenty of Tomato's for salads and just grabbing and eating.
Got them planted and watered all the other plants.

IT'S HOT OUTSIDE! WOW. Love it.
Air pollution is still around, and they say it will be worse on Sunday. Joy, Joy.
The eye drops did help sooth my eyes.
Later gang.
