JUNE 1st...... somebody needs to tell Mother Nature!
I agree with you K2,Fay has the furnace on and I have the electric heat on in this room, slept under an electric blanket after 3 this morning
Lee I
used to (there are those two words again, when you get to be senor citizens they are your favorite words)walk in 42 temps a long long time ago, that was the best time to walk. Your open air week end sounds enjoyable, take advanage of them. We very seldom buy drinks when we go out now. come to think of it, we very seldom go out. When we first moved here I tried to grow rhododendrums, never could but grew them in Northern Ohio. Our soil is nothing but clay and to acidic or not enough, forget which.
Enjoy the rest of the day hope it warms up for you

Ive got to take my pills.

Good evening! Another beautiful sunny day here in Belleview!

Lee, your open air week sounds cool, the price of that wine not so much! I rarely order wine out because I am just to cheap to pay as much for 1 glass of wine as I do for a bottle. Good for you guys for walking off the job, if you decide to stage a picket line let me know I'll send signs for you.:)

Kathie, that's a fancy lil coffee stirrer you bought yourself. If prices get to bad in the grocery store you could probably get a part time job at Starbucks! Your flowers & flag are beautiful.

Mike, I'm noticing how often those 2 words you mentioned are popping up in my conversations as well! Picked my 1st cherry tomato yesterday & have a 2nd one close to being ready.

Things didn't go quite as planned yesterday, around 3:30 yesterday morning we got some more needed steady heavy rain & by 7:00 it was still misting rain. I messaged Jane & told her to go back to bed as I've heard water & power tools are not a good mix. It finally dried up enough around 11 so I went over & finished up the sun shade, still have a little more tweaking to do, but it doesn't sag as badly as it was so that's a plus!
Ended up going to both church services today, I was going to leave after our 9:15 service but then I remembered Pamela was hosting a reception after church for one of our youth who graduated with honors yesterday. So I stayed around so I could help her out. Had a really nice turn out & Charity was very surprised at all the people that came & the cards she got.
Got home a little after 1 and then headed to the pool with my sisters, it's cooled down some after the recent rain but still felt good AND we had it all to ourselves so that was nice too!
Tomorrow I have nothing planned so hopefully I can get a few things done around here. For now it's time to kick back & relax!

4977E9B8-D868-4A8B-97EA-5BB306FA75EA.jpeg This is the bottom of a Romaine lettuce. It’s now 4” high and growing in a little water. It started out as basically nothing! I put the ruler next to it so you could see how high it is. A fun little thing to do with the bottom of romaine lettuce.

Karen: Good for you sticking around for the 2nd service and reception. It’s suppose to get up into the mid 85’s this week and I bet it would be nice to have a pool to jump into. Enjoy yours for me.:)

Mike: I added an extra light blanket last night. Made it hard to get out of my cocoon this morning.
Thanks for the hug Mike! Wasn’t sure that cartoon would show up. It’s for all of the Wrabbit Hutch friends on here.

Out of here for tonight.

Right back at all of you. What a great way to start a Monday!
The town started Open Air Weekends as a way to help the businesses recover from COVID. They decided to keep them. The footprint has changed a couple of times. There has been thought of going biweekly. Only the night market has gone to that format starting this year.
Power tools and rain is something I never used to worry about when I had a gas lawn mower Karen. It does sound like, between Jane’s and church you had a busy weekend. Hopefully we won’t need those signs. ;)
If you plant that romaine will you get a head of romaine Kathie? I’m such a gardener. We could see the mid 80’s for a couple of days here too. Accompanied by possible thunderstorms.
When I was a letter carrier (there’s a dying occupation!) I loved the cooler days for doing my rounds Mike. I actually never even minded the cold days because there was no limit on the layers you could put on to stay warm. But those hot, humid days just wore me down. We didn’t have water bottles to carry around back then. We relied on a hose at the side of a house to get a drink. I knew who was OK with me turning on outside their tap.
I said letter carriers were a dying occupation because most of the mail is now delivered by carriers driving to group or community mailboxes. Kinda like how the telephone operator, once a vital part of the communication network, has disappeared.
Well, time to get Ava her breakfast. Today is our weekly games day. Back to Monday as Lu-Ann and I don’t have dance class. I’ll miss that.
Have a great day everyone.

Good AFTERNOON!

If only the weather could stay like it is RIGHT NOW . 73F, Sunny, NO wind, NO humidity and just beautiful. WOW. I sat outside on the deck this morning and drank my "frothed" coffee and loved every minute of it.

Still waiting for the last Siding contractor to give us his QUOTE. I want the AWNING up, but am waiting to see if the siding job can be done soon. If not we'll put the awning up and get the siding done in late October. I want to use the deck now and not in later in the Fall.

You all have a great day. Lee, enjoy the closed streets in town. And Karen I hope your other tomatoes ripen for you soon. I still need to buy at least 2 tomato plants. Mike... just keep doing what makes you and Fay Happy!

Later gang.

Good evening!

Kathie, I too sat out on my back porch this morning enjoying my coffee! The recent rain we had was the result of a "cold front" and temps were in the mid 60's this morning with no humidity. I managed to keep the air off for most of the day but finally had to turn it back on a few minutes ago.

Lee, hope games day was a fun time! We still have a lot of neighborhoods around here that have individual mail boxes, but all of the senior communities have the central boxes.

Mike, most of the time going out is over rated, other than church I much prefer staying home.

Not much else to gab about, I did a few putter projects today but for the most part I just relaxed. Going to Jane's tomorrow to mow & try to "tweak" her sunshade so it hangs better. Have an awesome evening all!

We didn't do much today, Fay cut some of the dead branches off th e crepe mytle and I cut them into smaller pieces. We sat on t h e patio for a while then came inside. I'm not sure but it may have been in the upper 80s.
I hope it isn't too hot tomorrow Karen, even following a lawn mower around the yard can be dangerous.
I think 73 is a little chilly k2, I like it near 80 if I am just sitting outside. If Fay is happy everybody is happy. Y will have to show Fay the picture of your lettuce. we eat a lot of lettuce. WOW. I sat outside on the deck this morning and drank my "frothed" coffee and loved every minute of it. these are the good good old days.
I hope youe enjoyed your game Lee, I like the idea of open air weekends. it would be nice to stroll around downtown.
It is 81 inside, Fay just t urned on the air and I am comfortable.
Today is our 70th anniversary. We are having a small party Saturda;y.
Have a good evening.

Hi GANG from "finally" Pure Michigan beautiful weather today.
WOW... sure was a treat to have a nice day.

I made some Nut Rolls, Poppyseed rolls and Apricot rolls the other day and
delivered some of each to Jill at where she works. She got some of my Orzo Veggie
salad too. In return she sent me off with way too many Pkgs of Potato Chips! :emoticon 0136 giggle:
Then I drove a few more miles and dropped off a container of Orzo Salad to Eric at where he works for his lunch. Got a note from him that he liked it! That coming from Eric is a sure sign it was good. He's not a big salad guy.
After that I went a few more miles to the Lake Cottage. I had brought my gloves and a small hand shovel and wanted to see about planting some flowers in the various flower boxes.
I checked out how many pots were around and made a trip to a Flower Nursery and got a bag of mixed Potting Soil and some flowers. Came back and did the planting. Then saw that the WATER HAD NOT BEEN TURNED ON YET for the season. Couldn't find any pitchers in the house, so I took a dish pan down to the water and got in up to my ankles and got some lake water. Karen you would have been proud of me. I felt like a PILGUM getting the water! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: I dead-headed a lot of the Iris flowers and then headed home.

I was very sweaty and I'm off to the showers after I post this. My back actually behaved through all this. THANK GOODNESS.

Oh.... wait....I got a message from my Primary Doctor that she is moving out of state with her family, and I'll need to get a new Dr at the current practice. JOY, JOY. That's the 3rd one that has either moved or retired. I'll have to check out how many prescriptions I have left and get them refilled BEFORE SHE LEAVES. I'm sure a new doctor would make sure to have me come in before filling any prescriptions. Hate when this happens.

Have a nice evening all.

Just stopping by to say Hello I am fine, but Bill used to keep me updated with the Bunny board, but I see not much has changed. Lee and LuAnn are still helping Their friends, K2 is still Baking and gardening, Karen is still keeping busy with church and choir, Mike and Fay are celebrating a big anniversary, but Father Dave is among the missing.

I am OK,keeping busy. It’s hard to believe that Bill is gone almost 9 months, and
I miss him more each day. His headstone was installed the other day, so I have finished with that task.

I am retiring from the travel business, except for a few clients I will keep. I am getting too old, but it did keep me busy.

I went to Florida last winter and got a chance to visit with Bert, Missy, Gary
And Elaine and one of Missys kids. Had a lovely day. Bert looks good but seems a bit subdued, as I am sure he misses Pat.

Hope you all stay well and take care of yourselves and each other!❤️

It is so nice to hear from you Rita, I am glad you are okay and staying as busy as you like. Glad you are still traveling a little, that should help keep things interesting.
K2, do like I do, I get the youngest doctor I can find. I'm tired of finding new doctors. That was one busy day.
It was a hot day today, I rode my lawn tractor to where the garden was and cut the weeds. I would like to have t he area tilled but I know I can't do it, I'l check the paper and see if I can fing some one that will do it if it isn't too expensive and a large tiller will be used. the little 2 cycle ones won't cut thru my area.
I haven't heart that song Lee, thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes, Fay said thanks also. ❤️

A good morning to you all. And a special good morning to Rita! Thank you so much for stopping by to say “Hi” and letting us know how you’re doing.
What a difference a few days makes. The other morning Ava had her coat on and I had jeans, a sweatshirt and a jacket. This morning at 5:45 it was no coat for Ava and I was in shorts and a golf shirt!
The weather people are saying it could feel like 86F today - 70F tomorrow.
I think I was born in the wrong musical era Mike. I much prefer the swing and crooners to that head banging stuff that’s out there now.
I’m hoping that all of you have a perfect day. However that may look.

I had a really nice WELCOME for Rita and of course it's in Cyber-Space now. Bummer.

In short, I wanted to say it was good hearing from you Rita. Nice to know that you're retiring for the Travel business (except for a few friends travel needs) . I'm glad you were able to make it to Florida. Keep busy and please come back and check on us here in the Bunny Hutch. You never know we may surprise you with something exciting that one of use did! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
We miss Bill and his stories and Dave with his morning greetings and fantastic input here.
Take care and come by more often.

I'm off to plant my Posies before the HEAT of the day really shows up.

Karen, hope you get your sisters Shade Sail adjusted. Be careful if you're on a ladder.
We're waiting for a bamboo roll-up type sun shade coming from CHINA in 2 weeks. :emoticon 0136 giggle: We had one for decades and it just finally fell apart. It helps when we're eating dinner on the deck and the late evening SUN is coming down. The sun shines right at eye-level. Hope this thing is like the picture and in one piece when it gets here.

Later gang.
