Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

This has been another do nothing day. It rained this morning and about 2 the sun came out, got up to 79 degrees and turned into a beautiful day. it is supposed to get up to 86 tomorrow, a tad bit warm.
I don't have much to say so I'll close for now

70F greeted Ava and I this morning. But it was the fishflies that saw us cut our early walk short. They were everywhere. Thick and fluttering all over the place when you walked near them. They make a gross “crunch” if you step on them which was hard not to do. When we got back into the garage I wiped Ava down. Then I took off my shirt and shook some off, wiped my pants and legs and headed in.
It does look like the heat and humidity today will trigger some thunderstorms. The weather services just can’t agree on a time or how severe they could be.
Sometimes “do nothing days” are the best Mike. I think you need to send one or two to Karen.
What’s on tap in “Pure Michigan” today Kathie? Did Art get his sprinkler head replaced? I recall you having to dig and chop roots away from the water line before.
Everyone have a great day!

Hey there gang!

Art is working diligently to get the NEW sprinkler head on and working. Lee, you have a good memory. It was last year that we both worked on the "wrap around" root overgrowth on the front sprinkler head. That was way worse that the one in the backyard.

It's SO UGLY HUMID this morning it's hard to breath outside.
Art has a Union Luncheon to attend in a few hours. He'll be taking a shower for sure to get the salt build up off of him from the heat and humidity.

Bummer on the Fish Fly's cutting short Ava and your walk. I remember years when I was still a teenager and SLIDING INTO a gas station after putting on the brakes from all the FISH FLYS on the cement. The gas stations have those bright lights and would draw the Fish Flys to the area. Every street light was covered with the little buggers. And YES,
they STINK big time.

Karen, hope you are able to jump in the pool and cool off on these hot days. Save some of your projects for evenings or days the sun isn't out. Take care.

Mike: Hopefully you are staying INSIDE on these hot and humid days.

I'm off to get a fresh cup of coffee. Might make that a frothy Latte.

Later gang. Be really careful in this heat.

Look how beautiful the grounds of Karen's church look like. The garden team does a really nice job. Love those Pink tree' out front. What's the name of them?

It's pouring rain here right now. The ducks are going to love floating up and down in the creek. I made it to the veggie store, and luckily, I took my umbrella in with me. Pouring when I got out!

It rains, thunders, rains, sun comes out. Now we have high wind and possible tornado warnings popping up from all of the weather services. It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
Thank you for that picture of Karen’s church Kathie. It looks really welcoming.

I have never heard of fish flies before so I looked them up and read they are some times called Mayflies which I have heard of. Thanks for the picture of them K2. wow. Would that be somekind of horsechestnut tree or a crepe myrtle in front of Karen's church???
Lee, after seeing K2's picture of the fishflies I can understand why you shortened your walk. Would Ava eat the fishflies? When we get cicadas dogs will over eat them and get sick. What is the name of the fly that are so many and bite the animals in the spring. Are they the same as fishflies?
It got up to the mid 80s today. I sat in the shade close to two hours and enjoyes every minute of it. There is a possible chance of rain tomorrow.

Well that was one heck of a storm! We were watching for the emergency alerts and listening for the siren but thankfully we didn’t get either. Yes, it was that severe. Lu-Ann read that the tornado sirens were going off in Livonia, MI. We hope Kathie, Art and the family were out of harms way. Same for you Mike.
Are ticks the insect you are thinking of? Ava gets both flea and tick medication year round because we go south in the winter. She doesn’t seem to show any interest in eating the mayflies. Just as well I suppose.
Good night everyone.

We’re good over here in Macomb Twp! Whew. Hope you and Lu-Ann did okay too.
MIKE HOPE YOU AND FAY ARE “high & dry”! :emoticon 0100 smile:

Karen: I hope you’re not working too hard in that Florida heat ‘ humidity.

City of Fraser, about 35-40 mins from here had a Tornado hit the city area. Lots of damage and power outages in that area.
Our “creek” is UP HIGH BIG TIME! But still far enough from the house.

STORY TIME:
So, our next door neighbor comes over in our yard and show us a picture he took early Wed morning of a COYOTE in the backyard! NOT a Fox. Wow.
We had a dead squirrel on our back lawn and wondered what got it?? Now we think we know ! He said his cat was by the window going nuts and that’s when he saw it! Good thing he took a photo with his cell phone. It was big!

Okay that’s your story for tonight. I’m sure you folks won’t read this until Thurs!

I read Kathie’s coyote story this morning. They’re (coyotes) a reason Lu-Ann doesn’t like it when I walk Ava predawn in the spring. We still have some wooded areas fairly close by.
Good to hear Art and Kathie are safe and sound after that storm. I’m guessing Mike and Fay are too. I think Karen would have seen storms like that in FL.
I have to wonder what kind of creek it is and if people going by in canoes have paddles. ;)
PD support meeting in Kingsville today. I think the reason we go is to see Dan who I went to school with. He and his wife Leslie are just getting the group off the ground and appreciate a couple of familiar faces.
You all have a terrific Thursday!

Safe trip to Kingsville Lee. We use to go there on American Thanksgiving and there were churches that hosted huge Thanksgiving Dinners as fund raisers.

We once had a “Insane neighbor” that put his JetSki in the creek after a storm and went up and down the creek causing havoc. So happy when he moved. Only thing we get now is DUCKS enjoying the high waters.

I’m watching a documentation on WW2’s hero’s of color. Hidden hero’s of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion. A all black combat unit of D-Day beaches. Amazing history that the current administration wants erased from the schools books. Sad.

Mike: Good to know you read my story last night. I would have thought you’d be sleeping at that time! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Have a nice day everyone.

Our humidity is down today. A tad chilly too.

K2, I think Trump wants to erase everyboday that is not white from Americn history, I haave never seen coyotes in fairfield but some of our neighbors have seen them.
We just got a high wind Lee, but not higher than other highwinds that we have recieved, Hope your visit to Kingsville went well.
HI'm going to get a cup of coffee, join me any one
High is only 79 today, will probably stay inside, it's just 77 now.

The Kingsville meeting was a good one. It was about the benefits of exercise for those with and without Parkinson’s. Best part…we’re meeting Dan and Leslie for lunch next Wednesday.
Like Kathie’s area, it was cool here this morning. I took the opportunity to cut the front grass before we headed to our meeting. It has drizzled and rained off and on since I got the grass cut.
That’s a darned fine coffee Mike. I’m glad you only got the winds. We had unbelievable driving rain along with the winds.
We pass the exit to The Tuskegee Airmen Museum which I believe is in Georgia Kathie. An amazing group of pilots and crew of colour who faced so many obstacles yet proved their skill during WWII. Because we always travel with dog / dogs we miss so many of these amazing historical places.

61F as we headed out for our walk. The thunderstorms last night coupled with the cool breeze helped keep the fishflies to a minimum.
As my phone exploded with severe thunderstorm warnings last night I brought Lu-Ann’s planters under shelter. It was pouring. No sooner did I get back in than my phone lit up again that the warnings had ended. Oh well…
We have an active seniors expo at our big sports and recreation complex this morning. Free admission and free lunch! I sometimes still have trouble thinking of my sweetie and I as seniors.
I’d like to get Ava to The River and the back grass cut before we go as it’s supposed to feel like the upper 90’s later on today.
I wish you all a fantastic day!

Sarcastic Over The Hill GIF by Team Kennedy
(Just kidding. You're as young as you feel)

Sunny and nice outside right now. Later this afternoon Rain Showers. The lawn needs cutting!
Ed, the lawn man, is one day behind from yesterday.

Comcast Tech person is coming this morning to check my land line phone. The answering machine is not showing when we get a phone message. I can retrieve the messages, but I'd have to be doing that every time we leave the house and come back in. I really can't believe that Comcast can fix this. I'm thinking I might need a new receiver replacement type of a gizmo. And Comcast doesn't give those out.
Always something! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

I have Physical Therapy today at 2:30 pm. Not sure it's doing me any good, other than reminding me to stand up STRAIGHT when walking. I need to be doing some of the exercises at home, but who likes to do that!

You all have a nice day. Karen that goes for you too.

NEXT WEEK our HEAT INDEX is going to be 102 degrees! Time to spend some time in the basement sorting and pitching "STUFF" out.

The seniors expo was, sadly, poorly attended and the vendors / information tables sparse. But there were wine, beer and spirits samples! Along with the usual pens, pads and junk. Lunch was good. Pasta (with spring chicken :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: ), salad, roll, dessert table and a nice selection of water, juice and soft drinks.
We bumped in to everyone down at The River this morning so I didn’t mange to get the grass cut before we left. Then it rained so grass will have to wait until tomorrow morning.
We’re under extreme heat warnings from all of the weather services starting midday tomorrow running through next week too Kathie. Both Lu-Ann and I encourage you to do your exercises. I HATE to “exercise” but I have to since the heart thingy. Lu-Ann has to to help keep her PD at bay. So, cause we care, get your butt into your home exercise program. Please.
Is it as hot in your neck of the woods Mike as we’re seeing here? If so just take it easy whatever you get in to.
Hi Karen. (((HUGS))).
Speaking of exercise, the treadmill is calling.
Have a good rest of the day my friends.
