I give Karen a lot of credit living with that Florida Summer heat.

Mike/Fay: STAY INSIDE THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

Comast-Xfinity came out around 8:45 a.m. and did a few things at the connections in the basement. Shortened up about 9 feet of cable that was stuffed up in the ceiling by the last Tech guy that came out. Then he said some updates on the outside equipment needed to be done and he put in a order for another service call. Get this…..within the hour a guy was outside working on the connection box. THAT’S WHAT I CALL QUICK SERVICE! The MESSAGE LIGHT is working. Thank goodness I don’t have to shop for new land line cordless phones! LIFE IS GOOD!
We have a Graduation lunch to go to at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Grandparents are hosting their granddaughters party at a local restaurant 2 miles from our house! Yippee. Could you imagine being OUTSIDE in this heat??
This is George & Marie that live up 24 Mile Rd. Their daughter passed a few years ago from a long bought with cancer. The granddaughter was adopted from orphanage in Germany when she was a baby and raised by her only parent … her Mom. Her Mom set everything up for Nicole to live with a family in the area where she was raised in because it would be too hard for Marie & George to raise her. All her school friends would make things easier for her after her Mom passed. She gained 2 brothers and a sister that she goes to school with.
So, a long story short…… We all have our issues in life and this young girl has more than made the best of what life has handed her. She’ll be attending College on the West side of Michigan in the Fall.

I believe that tune from Garth was one of, if not, his first. We got to see him live once when Lu-Ann won tickets to The Country Music Awards. We both wish we could have seen one of his concerts.
I got the back grass cut this evening. Our weather guy, along with all of the other heat warnings, has made the next few days sound just “ugly”. At least I can tick that off the to do list.

tonight was Tierney's night. We had a good time just sitting and talking. A cup of coffee and some upside down pineapple went down very nice. Tom came over earlier and took me to an auto parts store, I got a battery for my lawn tractor. I couldn't carry the battery a n use the walker so I ask Tom to help.
It is getting late, need to medicate my ears before I go to bed , more tomorrow. Night all.

It’s already a tad on the warm and humid side for this time of day. Fortunately there was a slight breeze for our early walk. A lot more fishflies this morning though.

Nice breeze outside, overcast and lots of THUNDER and light rain have stopped for now.

There are a couple of tents in people’s backyards and over their driveways most likely for Grad parties. Sure glad Marie & George decided on a nice Air Conditioned restaurant for Nicole’s Grad party today.
I feel for those folks having to sit outside under a tent in the expected heat wave today and the rest of the week.

Walked out of the Grad Party restaurant and the HEAT HIT us right in the face.
UNREAL.
We'll be staying inside for sure the rest of today and who knows how many other days.

Party was a "10+".

A nice group of mayflies Lee, how do you stay away from them or do you?????It looks like you’re in this heat wave too Mike. AccuWeather says it feels like 101F in Fairfield. Today is supposed to be our cool day, over 90 for the rest of the week. I wanted it to get warm so I'm not going to complain, besides, our AC works great.
The group from our senior citizens dancing had a get together today, only 9 showed up, there is more but they can't make it to the gettogethers. It was an enjoyable time. Of the 9 only 6 can still dance and they are the young ones,

Good morning.
Well, YUK #1 - It is 75F and already feels like 91F. YUK #2 - With the heat and little or no rain the fishflies are just thick everywhere this morning.
Ava and I headed out at 5:45 for our early walk. There were so many other folks out walking I guess to get out before the heat really affects things. I took my shirt off in the garage and shook it and wiped down Ava and my shorts real good to make sure we had no fishflies on us.
Having good AC is really going to be important over the next few days Mike. You and Fay be careful to not sit out too long. Do the three who don’t dance take the opportunity to sway to the music while seated? It’s all about keeping active!
We said the same thing about the heat Kathie. It looks so nice out and when you go out it just whacks you in the face! I’m happy for all of you that Nicole’s party was a “10+“. You and Art watch your outdoor activities too!
Hard to believe that we are two degrees warmer than Karen right now. If you’re reading along at all and it’s supposed to be as hot and humid as we all are please take it easy. Keep an eye on yourself, Barb and Jane. Not to mention all of the other folks in your circle of friends!

And to think that people in Phoenix live for months in 108 degrees temps.

Art is doing his Bike Club Duty at a station in Port Huron today. Handing out fruit and cold drinks to bikers who are on the Blue Ramble Bike Ride.
God bless him and the riders for being out in this HEAT. NOT ME!

I went to my Nephew's bar and ordered up a Bloody Mary. Little did I know that the gal was going to post this picture on the Bar's Facebook site. Ha Ha. By the way, it was absolutely the best Bloody Mary in a long time. It was like having my lunch and drink at the same time. Had I known she was going to post this picture I would have worn some make-up! CHEERS ALL!

As I sit here listening to the slow dancing song it brought back memories of Fay and I dancing, thanks Lee, sweet memories. Our friends the Tierney's are in Canada by now, hopefully whereever the are there are no fishflies. I'm hoping they go farther North.
I lost this post and clicked undo and it came back.
Fay has been watering the seeds I planted a few weeks ago, a few things came up but I think it is a lost cause, I'm not going to plant any gourd seeds this year, maybe next year

Crazy heat wave across the entire USA & Canada.

On Monday temps will be 100F and who knows what the heat index will be.

I’m glad you enjoyed the tune Mike. Where are the Tierney’s headed? I’m betting that they crossed the Ambassador Bridge which is 20 minutes north of here. They would have had a good view of the 95% completed new Gordie Howe Bridge. Lu-Ann’s baskets have been getting watered early in the day and then, if needed, later on. The heat zaps them too.
When the heat warnings start popping up at 5:00 am you know it’s gonna be a hot one. Dangerously hot Kathie. So much so that we skipped and will skip Ava’s trips to The Navy Yard until it cools down a tad.
We only did the short block this morning. The fishflies were on us like stink on garbage. Not to mention the humidex was already feeling in the mid 90‘s.
Everyone stay as cool as you can.

FIREWORKS IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT TONIGHT!
People have been coming down to Hart Plaza and on Belle Isle since
9:00 A.M. I can’t imagine sitting around in the extreme heat to watch the fireworks that don’t start until 10:00 TONIGHT.
We’ll watch them on TV.

Lee, all I know is the Tierney's went to Canada. I guess it would be dangerous to have Ava out in this heat, you made a wise decision. That is one wild, video/ song. Temps here are 94, don't know what it t heat index is.
I think I would skip the fireworks.
