We were invited to The River to watch the fireworks Kathie. Maybe if it was a little cooler.
This heat is dangerous for Ava, Lu-Ann and I Mike. Ya, Buster Poindexter is the alter ego of actor / musician David Johansen. It is a crazy, fun version of the song.
Environment Canada says it’s currently 90F and feels 106F! Heat records are being broken everywhere.
Stay cool folks.

FIREWORKS PICS TAKEN ON THE TV.
THEY DID A NICE JOB.
I did hear there was a shooting somewhere away from the actual crowds. There’s always a group that has to ruin what was a nice family experience.

I’m going to be busy setting up a snack for the bikers when they get back from the Tuesday bike ride. Yes, they are all crazy to be biking in the ugly HEAT, but they won’t listen to common sense and just hive it up!
The menu : Jimmy John’s Mimi Subs, chips, pop and small cupcakes for the birthday dessert.
It’s Art’s 85th Birthday and since it’s a biking day I thought I’d give the
person who always brings things for the bikers Birthdays a break. :emoticon 0115 inlove: So I’ll be busy running around tomorrow. (Tues)

Happy Birthday Bday GIF by MOODMAN

WISHING ART A VERY HAPPY 85th BIRTHDAY!
Looks like another warm day. We have a slight chance of rain but it doesn’t look like it will cool things down at all. The same for tomorrow and possibly Thursday. The grass and plants sure need it.
You fine folks all have a great day.

I don't know why but I don't do anything all day and I am surprised it is so late. I generally turn the tv on about 8 and I just now turned it on. I probaly won't watch it until 10. In my case Lee it may be that I didn't say anything. Last I looked it was 91 and will be in the 90s the next few days. I'm waiting for it to get a little cooler so I can saftely sit outside. I would like to check on some of the seeds I planted. I don't think too many are coming up. There is alway next year. I think I said that last year.
Happy birthday Art.
I called my best friend old high school buddy earlier . He is a few months younger than me. I do believe I told you that. He is in a nursing home, he was in the middle of 11 kids. He fell recentley and sounded very weak. I think the 2 of us are only ones remainng in our class. He wan't his cheerful old self. I rhink I am repeating myself on here, is so excuse me.
Take care and stay cool.

It was a long day, but a good one.
Art & his bike club buddies enjoyed the snack lunch. It was perfect.
We went to dinner with Mark & Jill tonight and I swear I don’t want to see food for st least 3 days! Ha ha
The pictures is the guys right before they ride out on their ride!

Good morning everyone.
I was glad to see everyone, well, three of us were doing well in this crazy heat.
Yesterday was registration day for The Disney Princess 5K. Because we’re still not sure if we are heading south this winter we didn’t register. At $115USD per person with no refunds it seemed the wise thing to do. :(
Hearing your voice may have been the best thing for your high school buddy Mike! We did a “watering tour” yesterday and gave two friends gardens a good drink of water. Then Mom Nature helped out last evening for about 45 minutes.
Good looking group Kathie! I bet they all did enjoy your treat after their ride. I hope Art’s dinner was good. I have found my appetite is a little less lately. Even more so with this extreme heat.
That said we’re meeting my old high school chum Dan and his wife Leslie for lunch in town today. Dan and Lu-Ann share Mr. Parkinson’s Disease. Dan is fairly recently diagnosed. They retired to Kingsville which is about a 1/2 hour from here. We met them for coffee down there last month.
I hope today is a good one for all of you.

Late start here today.
THE TEMPS are just perfect outside for a change! :clap002:

Lee/ Lu-Ann have a grand lunch with your friends Dan & Leslie. Perfect weather for a nice lunch and chat. Enjoy.
I think under the current circumstances here in the US, you made the right decision on not spending the money on the Disney Princes 5K event. Lord only knows what will be going on come the first of the year of 2026! I would be looking into traveling to a new location to get away. Of course, that's not as easy as it is said with AVA. Hard to drive too much further to find warmth in Jan-March with a pooch in tow. You might just have to skip a year and stay home.:(

Art had a good day, and we all enjoyed some family time in the evening.
He's outside pulling weeds. A PROFESSIONAL WEEDER as he stated this morning. Perfect temp to do something like that. I should be out there trimming the Sargent Crab tree, but I'm just not as motivated to do it. Ha Ha.

Mike: Not sure what you're up to these days but hope you're keeping hydrated if you're outside for any amount of time. I have one cute little Italian pepper that is about 3" long. Lots of buds on the plant, hopefully I'll get at least a few more peppers soon.

Karen: I hope that you're doing well and are taking care of yourself in the Florida heat.
Stop by and PLEASE SAY HELLO. YOU'RE MISSED by the 3 of us left in the Hutch. I dusted your Hutch-Cubbie and even put some fresh flowers in there for you. :emoticon 0109 kiss:

Later gang.

I think you were right not to register for the 5 k Lee. Fay has been watering our 3 tomato plants. She said the front yard is tunring brownne are supposed to get thundershowers soon. amybe that will help turn things green. I hope you enjoyed your lunch with your old friend Dan and Leslie.
Nice picture of the bikers K2.
I thought about sitting out in the shade, opened the door and the heat made me change my mind very fast.
Stay cool.

Good afternoon my friends.
The company, lunch and conversation was wonderful. It wasn’t busy at the Artisan Grill. When our server, Bianca, heard Dan and I had been high school mates 53 years ago she didn’t rush us at all. I don’t think she could quite fathom a couple guys who went to school that long ago. A length of time likely twice her age “plus tax”. After lunch Lu-Ann and Leslie headed to the new ladies wear shop and Dan and I headed to the shop next door…Riverfront Ice Cream.
Is that “Professional Weeder” fellow licensed to work in Canada Kathie? I did get the front lawn cut this morning. It wasn’t nearly as humid as it had been.
I think it’s the breeze that’s keeping things bearable here Mike. We are supposed to be getting rain over the next few hours.
When we first did The Disney 5K there were often spaces available a few days before the event. It was a lot less expensive to register and there were fewer participants. Now it sells out in a couple of hours. As do the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and the Princess Challenge which is all three events! We look at it as saving $230USD.

I hope that you're doing well and are taking care of yourself in the Florida heat.
Stop by and PLEASE SAY HELLO. YOU'RE MISSED by the 3 of us left in the Hutch.
I echo what Kathie said Karen.
Have a good evening folks.

And just like that it’s morning. Ava and I were up earlier than usual. We took advantage of the cooler morning, 66F, to go for a bit of a longer walk. Other than that there’s not much new from The Burg this morning.
I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Add Fairfield to the list of nothing going on. I guess I could get outside and watch the grass grow. I haven't had the tv or computer on today, We were supposed to get some much needed rain today but so far nothing, It did get into the 90s again. That is all the excitement for today.

Lee: Did you get any of the RAIN I saw on the evening news?
We didn’t. Might get some around 5 pm on Friday!
Mike: You take care in this extreme heat & humidity.

Karen: How’s it going in Belleview?

I got out and cut the back grass this morning Mike. This afternoon I watched it grow.
We got a real downpour just around noon Kathie. By 1:30 it was pretty much dried up but the humidity was left behind. A few sprinkles throughout the rest of the afternoon.
The forecast for the next couple of days is calling for humidex values around 110F tomorrow and 97F Saturday! Then back up to 100 plus on Sunday!

Good Friday morning.
Heat, humidity, humbug!
Lu-Ann and I are trying a different PD exercise, Drum Fit, this morning. The instructor puts a big inflatable ball in a laundry basket and you use drumsticks on the ball. It can be done standing or seated. I guess we’ll see if there’s a touch of Ringo Starr in either of us. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Have a wonderful day and try to stay cool.

Good almost AFTERNOON. It's muggy-ugly-humid outside. YUK.
Lee: I just had to look up that PD exercise class you two are going to. WOW. Looks like a workout for sure! Hope it's fun.

What I wouldn't give to be floating in the GULF or a nice big pool right now! I miss being able to walk the shoreline in the early mornings and float around. BUT that said.... with all the recent SHARK attacks and alerts I think I'd be a little leery of doing the inter tube float in the gulf these days.

You all enjoy your day. I need to balance the checkbook right now.

Hey Lee, do I see a lot of Gene Krupas and Buddy Riches in that picture. We used to think Gene Krupa was the greatest. Have fun in your Pd class. You are going to be a lot warmer than
us, thats okay, I don't mind.
Thanks for thevideo K2.
I think Michael is coming here today, if so and it isn't too hot, I'l ask him to plant some gourd seeds. It is supposed to rain in a few days so it should work out well.
I'm going to get a cup of coffee, join me, then I have a whole lot of nothing to do.
Hi Karen
Stay cool.

The temps dropped about ten degrees but is back into t he mid 90. I don't know if I will be able to plant the gourd seeds tomorrw. Michael just called, he is on his way here.

Mike: Temps are dropping here at 6:47 pm Friday. Getting a steady rain, but it won't be over until about 9pm. The GRASS is loving the rain for sure.
Glad you power came back on.
