Happy You Can Do It GIF by Hello All
Yup, It's Hump Day! Look at that Artie climbing that hill like he's a youngster! HaHa.

Dave: I wrote it down to get the PROPANE TANK filled today. We'll be going over to COSTCO today and on the way back we can get it filled at the flower nursery place. Thanks for the reminder! I have a list of 6 items for Costco and hopefully I can stick to it.

Lots of chatter on here yesterday. Love it.

Karen: Good for you helping out the 95+ year olds. And don't be shy on taking any money. It pays for gas these days if anything! Some of those ladies have a huge nest-egg and I'm sure they would be paying lots more if they called a company to come in to do the work.
Glad your brother bought the nice car. Sounds like it will give him lots of nice driving miles. Now to get him to do something for himself for a change.

The frosting in the middle of the cake I posted had a 7oz jar of Fluff Marshmellow in it along with butter and powdered sugar and vanilla and a tad bit of milk. I never bought or used Fluff Marshmallow before. It wasn't anything special tasting when finished.

Lee: It's really nice outside right now. You OGC guys should be out there pounding nails right now! Ha Ha. I guess the neighbors might not like that since it's only 7:19 am! Just make sure to pace yourselves and stop before today HEAT HITS!

PAT: How is Bert doing? Any better? And did Wesley get all the chores done? Is he planning on moving back to Texas or just a visit? The kid needs to find a permanent job. Too young to be not working. But kids have their own way of doing things these day.
Haven't heard much about Cappy, is he behaving these days?

Bill: Your trip to the Cape sounds like it was really nice..........except for the charge to get into the campsite. Nice that they give you a refund of a few bucks when you leave. There is a campground that our family would camp at just outside of Goderich, in Canada, and they charged a fee to get inside even if you were just visiting. I guess it keeps folks that just wanted to use the water area (they call it the Falls) from overcrowding the campers who paid a pretty penny for their campsites. They didn't give any refunds and you could only park so many cars on your campsite. They keep a good track of who had how many cars on their site.

I have nothing more for you folks, so I'm off to get some breakfast and just a regular cup of coffee. :)
You all have a nice day.

Reasonably warm today and due to get warmer for the next few days but by Saturday the temperatures are due to drop into the 60s and remain there for most of next week.
Cribbage last night wasn't a total disaster as we managed to skunk our opponents one game but lost the other four so the total score was 3 to 8 with Rita and me on the low side.
We got back $8 of the $32 entrance fee when we left, KC, but the campground still makes out
pretty well with the income from all the day visitors, plus whatever the fee is that they get from the campers.
PT continues twice a week (actually one PT session and one session in the pool) and I think I am beginning to see some signs of improvement. My physical therapist claims to see some so that is encouraging.
Shed is looking good, Lee. You guys do good work and might give those Reeds Ferry guys some competition if you decide to go into the business.

K2, did you know that Marshmallow Fluff originated and is still being made in Massachusetts? Nothing like a scoop of it on a cup of hot cocoa or on a hot fudge sundae and a Fluffernutta (Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter) is many kids' favorite sandwich.

Negc: WOW.... all these years I could have been putting FLUFF Marshmallow on my Hot Chocolate. And since I bought 2 jars I will give Peanut Butter and Fluff a try ASAP! Thanks for the tips!

Costco was really crowded. Folks missed a few days when they were closed and they are out in full force.
I got all 6 items and then Mr Art added a case of BEER, a box of Cliff-Energy Bars, a box of double box of
Quaker 5 min Oatmeal and I added a REAM of computer paper.
All in all not bad for add on's.
Stopped at the
Italian Veggie Mkt and went in and got 6 corns and nothing else. A miracle in itself! Ha Ha. The lady in front of me in line had a whole months worth of items and I even helped her unload the stuff she couldn't reach........thinking she's let me go ahead of her since I only had 1 bag of 6 ears of corn. NOPE! NOT HAPPENING! WHO DOES THAT?? HA HA...SHE DID!

Out of here to cut up a
watermelon I bought the other day on Sale. $3.49 for a whole one. At the Italian Mkt they want $8.99 for the same darn kind of melon. RIP OFF Veggie Mkt for sure.

Later gang. Hope everyone in this group is inside out of the HEAT of the DAY. There is a HEAT INDEX ALERT in our area.

OK, I'm back. Did our running around before the traffic on our roads got ridiculous, so it was an easy trip. Came home in time for lunch of a nice salad and cheese & crackers. Had to finish off that healthy lunch with a vanilla fudge Drumstick ice cream cone! That really hit the spot!!
Now it's time to make a cucumber salad with the English cukes I had Bert pick up at Sam's the other day. While I do that, Bert will be cutting up the pineapple he bought at the same time as the cukes. Beyond that, nothing much is planned for the rest of the day.

Karen -Turkey burgers on the grill take about 20 minutes to cook from frozen to done. Jimmy told me that's the best way to do them and not in the air fryer, frying pan or oven. Glad your ice cream social was a success. The word is definitely out there in your neighborhood that you are always available to do weeding. Now you're expanding out of your community. Almost time to franchise!!! Sounds like a nice car that your brother got.

Lee - I too can't wait to see more pictures of the shed. Glad you guys are not overdoing it and know enough to quit when it gets too warm.

Dave - Turkey burgers can be very dry. That's why I made them with lettuce, tomato and mayo. That made the great. Turkey bacon ...YUCK!!!! They used to serve that for breakfast in the cafeteria for breakfast.

Kathie - Bert's booboo is starting to feel a lot better, as long as he doesn't overdo it. He's finally taking Aleve and had a Salonpas patch with lidocane on it. He said that definitely is helping.
Wes has a job lined up for later in the summer. He will be working for an oil company south of New Orleans. That job is for 4 months and pays well. Jimmy's cousin told Wes about the job. In the meantime, he's working with a couple of bands and doing logos for t-shirts. He gets paid for that too.
Cappi is still around. He has mellowed with age and is really quite funny with some of the stuff he does. He is a victim of habit in that, if I do certain things, he will do certain things. He's also Bert's buddy when it comes to eating. Whatever kind of meat or fish Bert is eating, Cappi has to have some too. e has stopped biting holes in my oxygen line, but will still stare at it at times. We still can't hold him, but he will purr like crazy if you pet him or Bert brushes him.

Bill - Glad you're seeing results of the PT. Keep up the good work. If I remember correctly, my mother used to make fudge with Marshmallow Fluff in it. I never got that recipe.

Time to get to work. Those cukes aren't going to peel and slice themselves. Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

Well I thought I was getting neck injections today but it was just a consultation. I did get 3 Rx's. And next Tuesday will get 2 mini injections to see if what he feels is the correct injection is the correct one to do, they are a blocker and he said they last about 6 hours. At my appt after I am to tell him how well they improved the pain/stiffness. Dr Ramos is very nice, I like him.

After the appt we went to lunch so since it was late won't have much for dinner.

Pat and Karen, I cook turkey burgers in a pan on the stove, 5 minutes from frozen, I do add some seasoning to both sided. And they come out not dry. I need to get back to eating them at least once a week. I also like shrimp burgers, cook the same. Both are good for me to help me lose weight.

BB: Love your healthy salads you have been telling us about.
We had a great salad last night for dinner.
I'm going to try and make some type of salads the rest of this week. Too hot to cook big meals these days.
Karen: I've got all the ingredients for the Asian salad I sent you. Going to try that on one of these Salad dinner.

I bet Tony is screaming his head off with all this FOOD TALK going on. Ha ha. I miss that man and his witty ways.

Good to know Wesley has a job lined up. Maybe it will turn into a long length of a job once he gets there. All the best to him.
Good to hear that Bert is slowly getting better. It takes time and we know Bert just doesn't have much patience to sit around and wait! ;)

It 90 some degrees here this afternoon. Too hot to sit out on the deck.

Later gang.

Nancy: Just saw your post after I signed off. Sure hope they figure out just which shot will work for you SOON. You're a walking pin cushion girl!

Good evening folks.
I promise a shed shot tomorrow.
But all the chat about Fluff and Fluffernutters Bill put me in The Wayback Machine, sent me back in time and I rediscovered this commercial from my youth…
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9WcsmmwP9E

I said a while ago Karen needs business cards and lawn signs! So good of you to look out for your neighbours. Yep, no name food stuff in general just doesn’t cut it.
We have been starting at 8:00 and knocking off about 11:30 Kathie. A little time for site cleanup and we’re all home by noon. Has Art been biking in this heat? WHEW! We did a COSTCO run as well. Where else can you get lunch and a beverage for a buck fifty eight?
What work has Wes found with the oil company in Louisiana Pat? Cappi sounds like many of our fur kids as they aged. More laid back and less mischievous. Good to hear Bert is on the mend.
My gosh Nancy, you sound more and more like a pin cushion with all of the shots you get in various spots.
I do like turkey burgers Dave but I’m with you on turkey bacon. Crazy weather. It seems the furnace was on a week ago. AC the past couple of days. I even had shorts and a light shirt for my 5:30 am walk with Ava today.
Speaking of, a little black and white pup is waiting at the door to go out. Duty (doodie?) calls.
Have a fantastic evening everyone.

Good Thursday Morning Wrabbits.
Had my Cheerios w/fresh blueberries on top. Yum!
Lee: It was a tad chilly to have shorts on earlier this morning. But good for you! Loved the FLUFF video. Going to try a Fluff & Peanut Butter sandwich for lunch. Only doing 1 piece of bread in case I don’t like it.
Another HEAT INDEX WARNING day in our area. Not suppose to put gas in your car because of polluting the air quality. Good thing I have a Half of tank full.
I’m going to try and trim the Sargents Crab tree while it’s still decent outside.

You all have a good day.

10:30 am and I’m DONE with the Sargents Crab Tree and the 6 low shrubs under it. What lot of CLEAN-UP yo do after my water break.
It’s a PERFECT morning to do this. A very slight breeze come through every so often and the HUGE MAPLE trees are blocking the intense sunshine. :clap002:
KAREN I could use your help up here right about now! :box:

Okay, back to work. I only have so much energy left in my tank! Ha ha.

Later gang! Enjoy your day. IMG_8022.jpeg

Here are some pics from my late evening drive through the BIG PARK I MENTION EVERY DO OFTEN.
I SAW TURKEY’s, Deer, people doing Yoga by the waters edge in a group and more. Art stayed home to watch TV. He’s at that park 3 times a week! Also went by the new Dog park within the park.

OH NO! As I sit here resting the COTTON WOOD SEEDS HAVE STARTED TO FLY AROUND!
Always something!IMG_7997.jpegIMG_7999.jpegIMG_8006.jpegIMG_8010.jpegIMG_8009.jpegIMG_8013.jpegIMG_8016.jpegIMG_8017.jpegIMG_8018.jpeg

Good morning and welcome to the first day of hurricane season! From now until the end of November, we'll be WATCHING THE TROPICS daily on the weather forecast. Fun stuff to look forward to, right?

Kathie - I made the cucumber salad yesterday following a new recipe. I sliced 2 English cucumbers for it. We loved it. This will definitely be my go to recipe from now on. I have one more cuke left that I will have to slice today so we have enough to go with dinner tonight. You said: Not suppose to put gas in your car because of polluting the air quality. Huh? Never heard of that before and it makes no sense to me. We have months of high temps and no one tells you to not put gas in your car. I see you just popped in. Nice picture of the tree. Do you trim everything into a round shape??? LOL

Dave - You must have been really tired this morning or just didn't want to talk to us today.

Lee - From what we can gather, Wes will be keeping tract of the men going into some kind of mine and making sure they all come out. At least he won't be out in the gulf on one of those oil rigs. I worry with him being there for 4 months. New Orleans seems to be a favorite target of hurricanes & tropical storms. The grandmother in me always worries about the kids.

Karen - Get any more weeding customers?

Not much happening here today. We're supposed to get some crappy weather. The rain is being described as at times being heavy or TORRENTIAL! That will put a crimp on any outside time today and for sure not doing anything on the BBQ. kies are already looking questionable, so rain ma be arriving sooner than expected.

Off to grab a cup of coffee now while I read the newspaper. Actually, just checking what Publix has on sale this week. ;) Have a super day, gang!

A late good morning. Took both a pain pill and one muscle relaxer last night at bed and while still stiff and hurting some am a bit better this morning. Started the Prednisolone this morning.

I remember as a kid having peanut butter and fluff
sandwiches at times, neither my brother or myself really liked them but of course we ate them. And now there is no way I would buy Fluff because of the sugar content. I try very hard to not buy any food that has sugar of more than 7.

Have a guy coming this afternoon for the box we have from FPL that can shut off the AC/Heat and or water heater, since they have found they are not connecting to it. Being part of the on call program is that we save either $750 or $ 12.50 a month depending on what month it is.

All have a great day.

Got the cutting put into the wheelbarrow. Then I put
a tarp down in the garage and put the wheelbarrow on it and a empty leaf bag! Filled it and and repeated this again. I GOT TO STAY OUT OF THE EXTREME SUN! Whew. Filled 3 bags.
Pat: I trim the 6 low shrubs mostly round and flat on the top.
1:00 pm and this girl is hitting the showers.

Karen: All I can say is BLESS YOU for weeding for those elderly ladies. It’s hotter and more humid in your area and I know I wouldn’t last long.

Here’s the wheelbarrow/ tarp set up. I know if Art was doing this project he would have stayed out front in the heat. Ha ha. Women are so much more cleaver than men.

IMG_8023.jpeg

Pat: The reason they ask you not to fill up your car on extreme HEAT Index days is to save our 0-Zone and environment. It would take too long to explain on here. It’s NOT mandatory. It’s just folks trying to save MOTHER EARTH.
Not sure your Governor would ever give a Rat’s As$ about that. Ha ha.

Off to the shower.

Kathie - Our ozone has already gone to he!!, so that wouldn't matter here. We have no choice - it's going to be hot and people are going to use their cars, thus they fill gas tanks year round.

Good evening all!

Kathie, you know all you have to do is give me a couple days notice & a cheap airline ticket and I'd gladly give you a hand with trimming shrubs. Used to be you could fly Spirt into Detroit pretty cheap, not sure if that's still the case or not. Good job on the bushes btw!

Dave, you have GOT to stop being such a chatter box so early in the morning! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Pat, I think I'm going to give those turkey burgers a try. What brand did you say they were again? And they come frozen right?
Glad to hear Bert is finally starting to feel better, now if he just keeps behaving until it's fully healed will be a good thing!
No more weeding jobs yet, but I am going with Linda Sunday afternoon to check out the job her friend wants me to do.

Lee, is the Costco $1.58 lunch the same as Sam's Club, hot dog & a drink? Sometimes my sisters & I will stop in there for lunch while we are out running around because it's so darn cheap & not bad tasting either. Looking forward to more shed pic's.

Nancy, are you missing a decimal point on the $750 savings? If not I'm sure glad I don't have your electric bill if that is a savings!

Lot's of running around for me today, went to Barb's this morning with a flower pot I had repainted for her & some drought resistant plants to put in it. She likes flowers but if Mother Nature doesn't water them they don't stand a chance!

Then went to Walmart for cat food & then to Panera Bread to use a coupon I had for a free Pick 2 meal. I got a half of bbq chicken sandwich & half of the Strawberry Poppy seed salad with Chicken, I also bought a glass of Strawberry Lemon Mint lemonade that was really good. Sat in the parking lot & ate my sandwich & drank my lemonade then went to check out a new Dollar Tree store in the area. Didn't buy much, but it was a nice clean store and pleasant to shop in.
Got home around 2 and have been pretty much chilling since then. No rain in our forecast here so I need to go out & water my plants. Enjoy your evening all!

Bill - Just in case you didn't know, there are 2 Blacklist episodes on tonight.

Karen - The turkey burgers we got are made by Jenni-O and they are in the frozen poultry section of Publix (at least in ours they are)

Have a good evening, everyone.

And there you have it. We need to shingle the roof but that will wait for a cooler day. Linda will paint the bottom level and put a contrasting colour on the trim.
That’s a lot of trimming Kathie. We‘re just starting to see the humidity roll in again. I feel bad for the fans and drivers at The Detroit Indy Race if this heat keeps up!
Yep Karen, that’s for a hot dog and bucket o’ pop.
I’m sorry folks. We just got word that our friend Joyce in Anthony, FL lost her battle with cancer at 5:30. Not really in the mood to chat beyond what I had started. Please say a prayer for her and Phil.

Good evening. Well we were supposed to have a guy stop by to check/fix our On Call box for the power company from 2 to 5, well at 5:45 the guy called and said he had had things run long and now his vehicle quit so he woudl not make it so someone will call to reset.

Karen, yes missed the decimal point. With the monthly savings our bill is just at $100.

Lee, is that MDF for the walls and roof? Our kitchen counters are made of MDF and we hate them, it has flaked since the day we moved in in 1985, horrible.

With the way my neck felt yesterday I postponed my Pt until tomorrow.

All have a good night.
