Good evening. Well the truck race was pretty good and the Xfinity race is finishing up now. The driver that won needed a win. Last year he was in Cup and did not do anything so the team he is with moved him back to Xfinity. He of course want s aback in a Cup car so he needs to show he can win.

Dinner was leftover chicken from the other night and leftover salad from last night.

They said we would have rain a bunch today but have only had a few sprinkles. Maybe tonight.

All have a good night.

Just looked outside at 10:26 pm and saw the STRAWBERRY MOON! Wow. Really bright and colorful.

Got a feeling that this 4th of July is going to be a doozey for people shooting off fireworks in this town. They were shooting off some on Memorial Day, but they've kept it up all week. I'm beginning to think that this is just the warm-up for the 4th of July.

K2; Kathi also has that
"Informed Mail-Delivery Notices". In my never to be humble opinion, it's a waste of time and money. First off, it's not all that accurate for what actually shows up in your mailbox every day. But more importantly the Post office should spend its' money on money saving work procedures instead of jacking up the postage rates every couple of months on unnecessary gimmicks like that. You betcha I stacked up with ice cream for the new frig. (To go along with my stash in the garage freezer.)

Gotta know KC; What kind of cookies did you make to take to church today? Hope it's something gooey and loaded with yummy.

I see that "As The Grill Turns" is still in the programming. Good for a while, than lousy for a while. It seems that every year BB, you and I race to the "Donut--Hole.

There are exceptions, but usually whatever weather we get, you get a couple of days later, Bill. So I was surprised when you said your high temperature would only be in the 50's yesterday. It's been warm or downright hot here for a couple of weeks.

Question for you Lee; What's the story on Canada's wildfires? Here in Ohio, we've been hearing for weeks that the smoke from them is making our skies hazy, but they give no details.

Plans for today? To be decided upon later.......maybe even tomorrow.

Another of those “where did Saturday go” days. I often start to or do read posts. If I get distracted I simply forget to post.
It certainly was HOT here yesterday. Many heat records are being broken across Canada which doesn’t help with all of the wild fires. Lu-Ann’s cousin who lives just outside of Halifax, NS was evacuated for a tad under a week. So sad to see the loss. A cool front is passing by here. It was only the mid 50’s on our early morning walk compared to 70 yesterday.
It has just been unseasonably warm and dry causing an earlier than normal start to the fires Dave. Of course it doesn’t help that things are so dry as there hasn’t been any rain to speak of for weeks now. We keep hearing that the smoke from out west will be here soon as well. For the sake of everyone with breathing concerns, I hope not.
I wish we had that service for our mail Kathie. We tend to stop by our box once a week. And it’s usually all junk mail, ooops, “unaddressed ad mail”. All of our real mail comes on line.
Good they got Lisa tended to Bill. I can attest that kidney stones hurt!
The Grille reminds me of Caffeine and Co here in town Pat. They go through spells of excellent products and service. Then it all goes to hell in a hand basket! How’s Bert feeling?
A big weekend of races for you Nancy.
I saw an ad for “Karen’s Cookies and Cuttin’”. Seems there’s this wonderful young lady in FL who takes care of older folks gardens. And still has time to bake treats for church.
We’re off to The Windsor Art in The Park show today with the gang. Can you tell how excited I am…
You all have a fabulous day. Stay safe. And if it’s hot keep those fluids topped up.

Good Sunday morning, gang! Typical type day here - sunny followed by isolated t-storms. That's more or less our daily weather from now until October. Fun, huh?

G&E are coming over later. We need Gary to check out both of our computers which have sometimes been acting up. Nice to have a geek in the family, but it was much more convenient when he lived only about 5 miles away. Now it's at least an hour and a half trip. Needless to say, I will be making dinner. Tortellini with ham, mushrooms and baby peas in a homemade cream sauce. This is one of Gary's favorites. I'm also making a cherry pie filling dump cake. That a favorite of Bert's, so I can guarantee it all will be eaten over the next few days.

Karen - Do people normally bring something to share every Sunday after church? You've found another way you can do things for others. Good for you.

Lee - That's some change in temperature from yesterday morning to today. I do hope you put your big boy pants on this morning. Bert is feeling better. He's still using the walker most of the time just for convenience, I think. When he goes out, he uses a cane. You definitely sound excited to be going to that art show with the gang. ounds like it should be a fun day.

Dave - I can just see a whole freezer stocked with ice cream. Definitely any KID'S dream. Nice that you still feel like a kid when it comes to ice cream. How's Kathi feeling?

Kathie - Beautiful picture of the moon. We couldn't see it last night due to clouds, but I did see it Friday night and it looked so red, thus the strawberry moon.

Bill - Sorry to hear about Lisa having kidney stones. OUCH! I hope she's wll on the road to recovery now. Good for you being able to walk in to see her. hows your PT is really paying off. Keep up the good work.

Nancy - We did get a few light showers here too yesterday. Nothing like what they were calling for.

Guess I should get a move on. Things are not going to get done around here by themselves. Have a wonderful day, everyone, no matter what your plans are.

Good morning. It is sunny and 85 right now, may get rain at some point today.

Saw in the paper this morning a lady that Bruce did work for for a number of years passed away last week. Anne was 99 and a very sweet lady.

Dave here are where the fires are in Canada "Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia - they are all experiencing interface wildfires," he said, referring to fires that have the potential to impact buildings and forest fuel or vegetation simultaneously."

Will be going to BJ's today and watching the Cup race.

All have a great day.

Good morning, hot & muggy here already, pool time is planned for this afternoon.

Pat, nice to hear Bert is feeling better and sounds like he's taking it slow & easy, good for him! Yes, they have a coffee hour after each service on Sunday that people bring goodies for. Sometimes we have a lot of food & other times not much. I got a tour of the kitchen today so I will be hosting the coffee hour for the 9:15 service next week.

Bill, yikes, poor Lisa with her kidney stone. That is very scary when they start to go Sepsis, that happened to my sister Jane a few years ago & they were pumping antibiotics into her big time!

Kathie, nice pics of the moon, I didn't even realize it was close to a full moon already.

lee, have fun at the Art show with the gang today! I like your name suggestion for my new business.

Dave, the cookies I made are called ice box cookies, we used to make them when I worked at Publix & called them Belgian slices. Very simple cookie made with brown sugar, butter, flour, an egg & walnuts. Mix up the dough & form into into a bar shape, let it chill then slice & bake. Easy-peasy!

Went & checked out my next project last night & it's not going to be a big deal. Basically just take the trimmer around the border stones of her flower beds & hit any stray weeds in the beds with weed killer. I will only need to go a couple times while she's gone. It's not a project I would do on a continuous basis but for the few weeks she will be gone it's fine.
Had a visiting priest for church today, Rev. Lisa's husband is not doing well. They found out last weekend he had blockages in both cardioid arteries, one which is 100% blocked & the other 70%. They had him on medicine to try & clear them out but apparently he had 2 mini strokes yesterday & ended up back in the hospital.
Going to change into my bathing suit & get comfy, catch up with you all later

Darn it Lee. You and your fellow Canadians are so generous in sharing your things with us, like the smoke, first from the wildfires in Vancouver and now from the Halifax wildfires. Those 50 degree temperatures and much of the rain we are expecting for most of the week are gifts from the provinces as well, I believe. Hopefully all that rain will help in extinguishing those Halifax fires.
We have that same USPS service, Dave, and like K2, I enjoy the fact that it saves me unnecessary trips to the mail shack when
only junk mail is being delivered. If you think that their services are too expensive, try using UPS or FedEX.
I was mistaken, hard as that is to believe, about our social calendar. The birthday and christening are both scheduled for next Saturday, so only the high school graduation party is on today's agenda. The rain clouds are moving in so I think that our attendance will be brief.

Watched the Red Sox games yesterday and looking at the fans in Fenway, one might think that they were there for a football game the way they were all bundled up due to the rain and the temperature.
Lisa is home and feeling much, much better.
K2, that church in
Spencer, MA was totally destroyed by the fire that was apparently
started by a lightning strike. The entire building had to be demolished. Nothing has been announced as of yet, regarding plans to rebuild it, but I expect that that is what is going to happen.

Good evening. Went to lunch at Casa Amigos and I had a shrimp dish, I asked if the sauce was spicy/hot and he said no, well for me it was spicy, won't get that again. Also had a Margarita made with Brandy and that was strong, enough that I could not finish it. Then we went to BJ's so a few things. Got home just before the start of the race.

The other day I ordered a pair of Kizik sneakers, well the one for the left foot is real good for that ankle but the right one after just a couple of hours my foot under the two toes starts to hurt a lot. I go back to the Podiatrist on the 15th so will see what he says I can do. And I did order Wide but they still end up pinching the toes.

The race so far has had 3 cars blow the right front brake rotor fly apart and now with this 3rd one they have had to red flag for cleanup.

All have a good night.

Lots of good chatter on here from Sunday! WOW! LOVE IT!

Lee: We were going to go to Goderich this week until we saw the temperatures. Only 60-65F. And the lows at night were in low 50's and some around 47F. That's just too chilly to be driving that far. So we might postpone until June 14, 15, 16. We would only stay overnight on one of these days. Time will tell.

We have a WHOLE WEEK of NO APPTS. How will the medical people make it without us?? :emoticon 0140 rofl:

I'm off to bed FINALLY, so no replies to the chatter. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

It must be Monday, Bunnies. The 2 wheeled soldiers are at the end of everyone's driveways, standing at attention. Boy oh boy, Kathi and I did not apply ourselves this past week. Only 2 plastic bags in the dumpster. Most weeks, it's close to not being able to fit it all in.

This morning we'll be off to the family doctor for a follow up on Kathi's bout of Vertigo. She seems to be moving a bit better, but I'd never put her behind the wheel of a car. Still moving slowly, and aware of her balance problems.

I was totally unaware Lee that parts of Canada have the same drought and wildfires that happen in our western states.

Yes BB, the sweet treats in our freezers are a dream come true to little kids.

KC; Any day when you are in your bathing suit and heading to a pool is a good day.

Wish I'd been able to see that strawberry moon, K2.

Bill; I'm sure that Lisa would agree with Lee in saying that kidney stones are one of the MOST painful ailments to bear.

Good MONDAY morning Wrabbits! Here we go with another Whirlwind week! Sure wish they would SLOW DOWN a tad. We'll be shoveling the "white stuff" before we know it up here! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

DAVE: I saw the Strawberry Moon again last night. All you have to do is look in the SouthEast area or just stand in your driveway and look UP and around in the sky for the MOON. Just don't take Kathi outside looking for it. She needs to keep her head pretty much in one position until this Vertigo is gone. Hope her Dr's appt is a good one.
I talked to my
friend, Marie, that had the Vertigo last week and she was given some kind of pills when she was in the hospital for 2 days and got HIVES all over her body. Once she stopped taking the pills the HIVES went away. Obviously she was allergic to that med. She fell in the bathroom from being so DIZZY when the Vertigo first took hold and now is going to start physical therapy for her SHOULDER that is killing her. Nothing broken from all the X-Rays and MRI they took when she was in the hospital, but her shoulder is painfully sore.
I feel bad for your Kathi and for my friend having to go through all this. Hugs to Kathi from me.

Karen: Good for you getting a EARLY start on cutting Jane's lawn. And nice to get a haircut out of the deal. You're the best SISTER for always stepping up and helping out your sisters and everyone else too.

Seems like Mother Nature wants to play games with our Temps this week. First she gives us days and days of 95+ temps and now she's giving us too much of a break with it being only
61F right now! Hate when the evenings get down into the 50's. Would love to have 70's in the evenings and 78F during the day all year round. Ha Ha.... dream on about that thought.

I'm out of here to get a fresh cup of Coffee and a bowl of Cheerio's w/Blueberries on top. Then I need to wash that kitchen floor and vacuum and dust the rest of the place, change the bedding, etc, etc. Sure wish I had a maid on days like today! Just haven't gotten to that point in life YET!

Good morning.

Have to take a pair of sneakers to the post office to return, even though I ordered the right size they are too small. Then no plans for the rest of the day.

Because of a lightning strike within 5 miles of the track yesterday they had to red flag the race for at least half an hour, but it ended up being an hour, so it was late ending. And they had a total of 4 cars with blown rotors with 2 having to red flag the race. There was a driver in his first Cup race, he drives in the truck series. He was doing very good being in 16th place when his rotor blew out, so ended his day early. But I know that a lot of owners had to be impressed with him. The driver he was replacing was in a different car and while that car is from a better team he did not do very good.

All have a great day.

As I anticipated, our attendance at the graduation was brief, though it was good to see several friends who now live out of state and we hadn't seen for a long time. It had just begun to rain when we arrived and while the younger guests were in a tent in the backyard of the graduate's house, us (slightly) older folks gathered inside the house. By the time we left the rain was a bit heavier and the temperature made it feel both raw and cold (more like March than June). Had some beef stew when we got home and it really hit the spot.
Our son-in-law's birthday is today, so a visit is about the only thing on my schedule. Rita is off to the office and I have a few things to do around the
house. Weather and temperatures are still less than favorable but it looks like that is all we can expect for the next several days.

Once again a late good morning. Not much on the agenda today except go to the library and a stop by M&J's to check on the kids.

Now that school is over, the kids are home alone the days Missy has to work. Jimmy is working out of town for the next 3 days, so the kids will be alone from about 6 AM until Missy gets home around 7:30. I think we'll pick them up tomorrow for a game day and to bake some cookies.

We had a nice visit with G&E yesterday. Found out that they are hosting a party in August for their son & future DIL. There will be about 50 people there! Sort of like a shower which means time for gifts. They already live together where she's going to law school. He lucked out on being in the right place at the right time and met a man who owns his own company. One thing led to another and Elaine's son now works for this man's company and is earning the big bucks. What the heck do you buy for the people who can buy anything they want? Also found out we're getting mail from the future bridal couple. Something new now - We'll be getting a "save the date" postcard for their wedding next year. M&J are also getting one and they don't even know the bridal couple!
Here's a good one for you ... The bride's father is a surgeon. Elaine & the mother of the bride are getting complimentary face lifts and Elaine is getting the same surgery as you had, Kathie, on her eye lids. Talk about vanity!!! They have to go to Pensacola for the procedure because that's where the bride's family lives.

All of you up north who last week were roasting, I want to thank for returning our normal weather to us. We're finally going to start hitting 90 again this week. If you're nice to us, we'll share some with you shortly. LOL

Well, I see that while I was rambling on and on, I went past noon, so I will just say have a nice afternoon and get out of here for a while. Time for lunch.

Good Monday evening folks.
Yes, the weather Gods are messing with us again. After a few days of record breaking high temps I had to resort, as Momma Bunny would say, to my big boy pants to walk Ava this morning.
Just another scam is what I feel about those “save the date” cards Pat. I don’t think those are wedding bells I hear. It’s the sound of the cash register.
Beef stew sounds like the perfect meal for a colder, rainy early June day Bill. How’s your mobility and PT doing?
How did all of the “trimming” go Karen? Shrubs and hair alike.
If the shoe fits, wear it Nancy. If not, send it back. It sounds to me like a badly manufactured bunch of rotors!
The cooling effect of the lake near Goderich can have a major impact on their temps Kathie. That sure is a pretty town. Amazing how hard they worked to bring it back from the destruction caused by the 2011 tornado. I hope you took time for a coffee after all that scrubbing!
Sadly Dave only The Yukon and Newfoundland / Labrador are the only provences that don’t have fires burning right now. Authorities are starting to get fires under control thanks in part to firefighters from other less effected region, from across The US as well as other foreign countries.
How did Kathi do at the Doc’s?
Tomorrow, finally, we will shingle Linda’s shed and sign our work. That’s an old tradition for the crew to sign somewhere once their job is done.
But for now I think we have a little ping pong calling our names.
Be good everyone.

Good evening. Got my two errands done this morning and took it easy the rest of the day.

Lee, they said the rotors were blowing because of the way they would brake and then the rotors would have time to cool down before getting hot with braking again. One thing NASCAR did with parking Chase Elliott for this weekend was make it now that at least one driver will complain each race that someone wrecked them on purpose so they should be suspended for a race. Had one driver say it yesterday and when you look at the video you can see it was not on purpose.

Tomorrow I get the two test needles in my neck, if they help a lot then I will get the big needles in a few places not just two that work for about 6 hours.

All have a good night.

Howdy folks!
I did a lot today and it felt good.
Tonight after dinner I made a batch of Greek Cookies I saw on a Facebook group I belong to. They are FANTASTIC to dip into coffee. If you don't dip they are Crunchy and I wouldn't want either Art or myself to loose a crown over them. Dipping is a GOOD THING. Ha ha.

Koulourakia-Blog1.jpg
Look a lot like the Italian "S" cookies, but taste different.

Lee: I had to laugh when you said you put your "Big Boy Pants" on for the walk. You're getting soft in your old age! Ha ha.

BB: I feel bad that the little ones have to be home so long without somebody there. Good you're picking them up to be with you guys. Is there a Summer Camp they could get enrolled in close by. Some of the churches around here offer Summer Camp and even Bus pick-up. I'd love to know how much Summer Camp costs these days at the church's. I went a few times when I was Jennifer's age. Loved making things out of clay and all the other crafts we use to do. Come on Grandma & Grandpa.... you pop for Summer Camp. Ha Ha.
And as for those "SAVE THE DATE" cards, I think it's a big waste of good money. They cost a lot to have printed and stamps are not cheap anymore.
Seems everybody is sending them out, so I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

I got invited to a bridal shower and the invite said the "BRIDE" would appreciate having the gifts sent to the house instead of bringing them to the event location. It would save them from having to lug them home. WOW, I gave money in a envelope at the shower. The Bride had a list of items that were shipped to her house and read them off. How boring is that. Pretty soon they will have FACE TIME ONLY the day of the shower. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Bill you and Rita sure were busy going from place to place. There goes your gamboling Money!

Lee: Be real CAREFUL on that ROOF. I would say to let the youngsters do the climbing, but I think you are all about the same age! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme::emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Karen: So how did the haircut work out? I need one SO BADLY.

Good night Wrabbits.
