Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

We had a good day here yesterday, although like some of you northerners, a bit cool. 18th day in a row with no rain, and none expected till Sunday.

On Kathi's visit with our family doctor, the doctor went over the report from the ER doctor and concluded the same thing, Vertigo. No sure fire way to get it to end, but time and her prescription was refilled to help. I asked if she ran out over a weekend, would Bonine help until she could get another prescription? (That's the stuff we take every day on cruises to avoid seasickness. We never have gotten seasick.) Surprisingly she said that they are the same thing. But the prescription is twice as strong. So if she does use Bonine, to just double the dose. S l o w l y her dizziness is going away.

Our day ended toward evening with the jingling sound of music coming from the "Jingle Scoot" ice cream truck cruising the streets of our neighborhood.

Then we watched the last 2 hour episode of "FDR" we recorded from the History channel. In all there were 3 episodes. A real interesting documentary. I never knew that FDR spoke German. He could understand Hitler's speeches and rants without an interpreter.

Since Kathi and I got our physicals at the same time a while ago, our doctor set up testing for us at the same time today. She gets her melon-smashing while I'm getting my yearly CAT scan on my lungs.

Are we taking this "togetherness thing" a bit too far?

Karen is this how your kitties wake you up! LOL

Good Tuesday Morning Wrabbit friends!

Dave: Good to hear that Kathi is S L O W L Y getting better from her Veritgo.
I love watching things on The History Channel. I really should learn how to record programs from our Smart TV. The problem there is.......the Smart TV is so much SMARTER than me! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

55F here again this morning. It's as if mornings are like LATE FALL - EARLY WINTER. Bring back the 70's for morning.

Those silly cookies I made last night are really good dipped in coffee. I just need to cut back on the 1.5 cups of sugar that is in the recipe. They are just TOO SWEET for me. Of course, SUGAR LOVING ART, thinks they are just fine the way they are.

Today I have the back of the house to clean.
Wednesday my best friend will be coming over for lunch. She has so many health issues I had to go over what she can and can't eat so I make something that's okay. So far a Quiche is on the Okay list. We use to live next door to each other and our daughters grew up together. She's still my best friend ever. Her hubby pasted away a few years ago. We were with her at the hospital. It was one sad evening. We use to do everything together as a 4-some. Lots of vacations, boating, etc. Miss Mike a lot.

Lee: I bet you had your LONG BOY SLACKS on again this morning. Brrrr 55F and holding here.

Off to get my coffee and biscuit to dip into it. Art goes biking today and I'll clean up the back of the house and then make sure I have the items needed to make that Quiche for tomorrow. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Have fun safe day folks.

Good morning, busy day here already & it's not even 9:30!

Kathie, those cookies look very good, what are they called so I can look up a recipe? They would be nice to take to our church coffee's.

Dave, glad to hear Kathi is feeling a bit better with the vertigo. And with gas prices the way they are today I think scheduling appointments together is a great idea!

Pat, wow, that's a long time for the kiddo's to be home alone, nice of you & Bert to give them a break & have a game day!
Drives me nuts getting those save the date cards & even more nuts when I barely know the people! You know it's nothing more than a money grab.

Lee, bummer about the change in temps, but it's got to be easier working while it's cooler.

Nancy, hope you finally get some relief with the needles.

Bill, cold rainy day's just seem to be perfect days for a nice hot bowl of soup or stew! Heck, I even enjoy a nice bowl of soup sometimes even when it's 90 degrees down here!

Got the tree trimming done at Jane's yesterday & filled 2 garbage cans full of small branches. When I go back next week to mow the front yard I'm going to trim a little bit more & toss a load in the back of the truck to take to the dump.
Got my hair cut & it looks good, always takes a few days to figure out how to style it again, but it's summer short & that's what I wanted!
Took Scooter to the vet's this morning for her Bp check & the Dr. said it was really good, lower than it had been before on the last check. I really believe a lot of it has to do with not traveling for 30 mins to get to the vet. She doesn't have to go back now for 3 months unless she has a problem. In, Out & HOME in an hour is pretty good and it only cost $65. I think it would have been less if I'd just had the Bp check done & not talked to the Dr.

Going to lunch today with Tom & Grant, haven't done that in a while & I'm looking forward to it. Guess I should get a few things done around here before they pick me up at 12:30. Have a super day all!

Good morning, everyone! It's going to be hot and humid here today. Good day to stay inside and play games with the kids,

Dave - Glad Kathi's vertigo is getting better. Interesting that you both take Bonine every day on a cruise. We have never had to take it and have never gotten seasick. At first I was afraid Bert would, but he too has never been seasick on a cruise. Good that both of you are taking are of procedures at the same time. Saves time and gas.

Kathie - As far as I know, there are no summer camps around for the kids. They used to go to tai quan do and dance class, but the price per child has gotten ridiculous. It's couple hundred dollars per week! They have some things coming up in our community for the kids. They're 1 hour activities and cost 10 to 15 dollars per child. That too is kind of pricy for just an hour of crafts or cookie making. Heck, I'm making cookies with the kids this afternoon and I'm not going to charge them anything. LOL

Nancy - Hope those needle help with the pain.

Karen - You sure have been busy already this morning. Glad you like your haircut. That's a great deal you have with your sister. Enjoy your lunch out with Tom & Grant.

Lee - Be careful if you are up on that roof. We don't need any more injuries in this group.

Bill - Your mentioning beef stew makes me want to make some. Unfortunately, we have no room in the freezers to store any containers of stew. The size pot of stew I make would have us eating stew every day for a week, so I better skip it for now.

With Jimmy away at work for a few days, I invited Missy & the kids to help us eat the last of the tortellini. Good thing I did, as she would have had to cook a meal after getting home at 7:30. Tonight they will be back again for dinner as I'm making one of my favorite meals - spaghetti with blue crabs. M&J bought crabs the other day and they cleaned and saved a half dozen for me to make a pot of gravy (sauce) and cook the crabs in it. ix crabs isn't much compared to when my mother used to make spaghetti and crabs. She would make a couple dozen crabs in the gravy at a time. We'd end up with a platter full of crabs!!

Off to get a few things done before it's time to pick up the kids. I also think I smell a cup of coffee with my name on it.

Do you think Dinty Moore will send me a commission for convincing so many of you that a bowl of beef stew is just what you need during g the current chilly spell? Probably not.
Glad to hear that Kathi's vertigo is lessening. We took Bonine with us before our first couple of cruises but fortunately have never had to use it even when we sailed in high seas. Good to know that it helps with vertigo.
Another PT session this afternoon and pool therapy on Friday. Mostly it seems to be helping but occasionally I feel like I am regressing instead.

Not much going on over here right now.
Making a dessert for my friends visit tomorrow. And wouldn't you know it, I need a can of Crushed Pineapple from the store. I have chunks, but it's a small can and not worth grinding up to make "crushed" out of it.

I made a quick trip to Costco looking for their bargain Potting Soul! Of course, they were sold out. I walked through to see what the Food Ladies had to offer. One Lady was handing out “Thinsters”. A Silver Dollar size thin cookie that you eat way too fast. So, if you like COCONUT and you go to Costco pick up a bag or two! :emoticon 0100 smile::emoticon 0100 smile:

Good evening. Had PT this morning. Got home and had lunch then left for my needle test. I had to wait a bit but it was not bad, 3 shot in the right side of my neck. When I got up from getting the shots I was a bit dizzy and the nurses said that is pretty normal to be a bit dizzy, but it went away pretty quick. An I have to say I was very glad as I have been dizzy when I go to bed, at least that is the only time I am dizzy. And it seems that the only hurting is where the shots went in on the outer part of the neck. Having Bruce get me an ice pack to put on then I will know for sure. The ice is helping with the pain I have on the outer part of the neck. So I guess when I go see the NP I will let her know that the shots helped. So then they can get approval for the burning of the nerves and get that done. Guess I will be up later than normal for me tonight.

All have a good night.

Good Wednesday morning!

Should be a sunny day. Well....a hazy pinkish sunny day. In the last couple of days we've hardly had any winds. So all the smoke in the air from the wildfires up north just lingers. Today we may get a bit more wind to send it on it's way.

This morning we're off to the larger grocery store since I'm out of Blue Bunny chocolate cones. Now we'll have to rethink our grocery list to see what else that store carries that they don't have at the smaller grocery store.

Kathi got her melon-smashing and I got my CAT scan done, finishing up within 5 minutes of each other. But when I came out to the car, I found her sitting on the curb and not sitting in the car. Hugh? Turns out she had forgotten to put her keys in her purse. When we got home, there they were, sitting on the kitchen counter.

Yesterday is the day when they were going to deliver our new frig. I was so thrilled and delighted that it came eleven days early I put a bright red bow on it, like a Christmas present. BEST present I've received in a long time.

I too can see a kitty waking up KC by tapping her face.

Yes we do take Bonine every day on cruises. Even in rough seas we've never gotten seasick. And don't plan on getting it. Once you get it, you're screwed for at least a couple of days. On one cruise, we had a couple at our table that missed 4 days of a 7 day cruise having to stay in their cabin because of sea sickness. We've been on a few where they put puke bags on the steps of the stairs for people.

Hi GANG/
Having a friend over for lunch soon.
Had computer issues earlier and had to talk to the crazy people in India. LORDY!

Unplugged every thing after the India person said it would cost me to have her do a MODEUM check because my modem was out of warranty by 2 months. REALLY!!
Everything came on and it works. So I saved myself some money.

I'll be back later today. You all have a great day.

Good morning. Well my neck where I had the injections yesterday is sore, it feels heavy. Don't have any plans for today so it should not be a problem.

We have never had any problem with seasickness when on a cruise. For the first 3 or so I did take Dramamine but never had to use it, even though one cruise was very rough. I used to get the sea legs after a cruise but that quite after about 7 cruises.

All have a great day.

Good morning! I too have been having computer problems. Bert needs to disconnect and then reconnect everything to see if that helps. I keep losing the internet and when Missy has been here, she too cannot connect to the internet. Bert never loses it, but he's hard wired to it in the computer room. Mine is a wireless connection. Might have to give Gary a call and see what he recommends. It gets very frustrating, especially when you need to do something on the computer.

Dave - I picture your freezer as having a variety of ice cream goodies sort of like a miniature supermarket. How close am I? Have fun shopping at the big grocery store today.

Kathie - Enjoy your friend's visit today. So what are you making for lunch?

Bill - Dinty Moore? Really? I thought you were talking about homemade beef stew. It's been years since we had Dinty Moore. Used to like it over egg noodles. Now I only get to make and have stew I make myself.

Nancy - Hope those needles helped.

Lee - You guys get that roof shingled yesterday? Can't wait to see how the she shed is going to look after it is all painted.

The spaghetti with crabs for dinner last night was delicious. We even still have 3 crabs left, so you know what will be for dinner tonight.

Nothing much going on around here today. I hear Bert on his way out of the bedroom, so I guess I should get off here and join him for a cup of coffee. Have a good one, everyone!

Good afternoon folks.
Yes, about the shed for Linda's yard tractor, little trailer and assorted garden "stuff" - Our Work There is Done. We had a dandy day yesterday to get the shingles on before the sun really came into play. Creative group we are we even added a nice vent to the roof. Linda is going to
paint it starting, she thinks / hopes tomorrow. Her neighbour who is a high school art teacher is going to paint sunflowers on the side. Can't wait to see it done.

We have been under an Environment Canada air quality warning for smoke drifting into the area from the wildfires to the north and east. Sometimes you can really smell the smoke. It sure has made things hazy!
It scares me giving ANY computer tech remote access to my system to run diagnostics Kathie. So, what's for lunch? We were in COSTCO this morning. We had four things on the list. Came out with two of them and one other item. They had no coconut or, and this one hurt, Ghirardelli brownie mix! We like to keep that on hand if somebody calls and says they are popping bye.
How was that cup o' coffee Pat? Almost sounds like a router or wifi issue with you and Missy unable to connect to the main computer. I'm glad you have a direct line to 1-800-callGary. Spaghetti and crabs you say? Hmmm. I don't think we've ever had that.
How are the injection spots feeling today Nancy? You seem to have almost as much pain from adverse reactions to the injections as you do to the pain! Yes, I read about the can of worms that was opened with the accusations about intentional wrecking in NASCAR.
I reckon seeing Kathi sitting by the car instead of in it gave you a bit of a start Dave. Was that the same bow you use on your vehicles? How was grocery hunting at the big store?

Probably not.
I suspect that you're right on that guess Bill!
That sounds like a really good price for Scooter's trip to the vet Karen. How are The Guys doing? How was lunch?
We're off to Jan and Dave's to celebrate Jan's birthday. Problem is that's all the way on the other side of The Burg. I bet it'll take us 8 minutes to get there.
I better go get all tidied up. You all have a great day and we'll see you tomorrow.

Good evening. It was a quiet day here.

My neck is feeling less heavy. And the papers I got did say the injection site could have pain for 24 to 48 hours but it really is not as bad as the pain inside has been so I am okay with it. One thing is it has caused me to have headaches, which I am ready to get rid of. I would guess that after seeing the NP I will be set up to receive the nerve burning.

Read today that desantis's rating has gone down to around 19% and that is a big drop, very glad. And there are more people/organizations that are suing him and the state over different thing. All these lawsuits are costing the state bunch of money to defend. I wish some would sue him personally.

All have a good night.

The most talked about subject here at the moment is all the smoke in the air. And the worst day is suppose to be Friday. I'd heard that the wildfire smoke had spread to the south too. Kathi got a text yesterday from one of her sons who is vacationing with his family this week at a beach house in Duck, North Carolina. (It's on the Outer Banks.) He said that their beach house is 20 yards from the ocean, but at times yesterday they couldn't see the ocean because of the smoke. On last night's news it was reported going all the way down to Atlanta.

I share your pain and frustration K2 when your computer wouldn't work right. Just yesterday our TV was buffering about every 3 minutes. And when it wasn't doing that, the voices kept getting out of sync with the people. Changing the channel did nothing. Rebooting the TV box under the TV did nothing. Turning the TV on and off did nothing. Kathi finally decided to reboot the whole computer system. Which means unplugging everything for a while. (Thank goodness she has everything plugged into an electrical strip, so she only had to unplug the strip.) It worked.

Just recently I had to reboot our garage door opener. Door would go up, but not down. That thing isn't even 6 months old. So how do you reboot the computer parts of a garage door? Unplug it from the ceiling plug, wait at least 5 seconds, and plug it back in. It worked.

You betcha BB, our new frig is loaded now with cold sweets. As of the moment; A carton of Bryer's mint chocolate chip ice cream, and one of chocolate. A carton of pumpkin ice cream. M&M ice cream sandwiches. A box of Blue Bunny Mini chocolate cones. And one of Kathi's favorites, root beer popsicles. Plus a snack bag of individually wrapped pieces of candy, which we keep in the freezer. Yes it is fun shopping at the big grocery store, but my legs were starting to wear out. Luckily they have a pharmacy, so they had chairs so I could sit down for a bit.

Thanks for the new picture of the shed, Lee. Looks mighty fine. Even Kathi got a kick out of the art teacher planning on painting sunflowers on it.

Oh yea Lee; I hope that yesterday you didn't get caught in the Berg's rush hour traffic.

Morning, gang! How's everybody doing this morning? I hope all of you up north are keeping your doors & windows closed with all that smoke invading from Canada. Hopefully, it won't make it to Florida or our governor would have to sign a law against it!! Seriously though, be careful if you have to go out with all that smoke in the air. I know I couldn't leave the house for sure.

Dave - Yep! What you described your freezer looks like is exactly how I pictured it would look. But one question - Did you leave any room for REAL food like meats and frozen veggies? Just curious. LOL

Nancy - Good luck with your doctor visits today.

Lee - Now I really can't wait to see the finished shed with the sunflower painted on it. That was some long trip you had to do yesterday. Around here, that would have taken an hour at least.

Not much going on around here today. We're now into our normal summer weather pattern. 90 degree days and 50-60% chance of daily t-storms. Today's storms are due from 1:45 to 3. As I look out the window, I don't thing that's going to happen. I think the storms will get here much earlier than that. The clouds are gathering even as I type.

Time to read the paper but more importantly, I need to see what Publix has on sale this week!! Hi to everyone I missed and stay safe all of you in the smoke areas.

Good AFTERNOON Wrabbits. 69F and Sunny with OVERCAST SMOKE FOG. No real BLUE SKIES around here for days. My Air purifier has been working overtime. Finally got it into the SAFE ZONE. It was at 60 when I first turned it on a few days ago. I'm leaving it on for sure after they said Detroit's air is by far one of the worst. Dave I feel bad for your Son-in-law and family not being able to see the ocean. New York is passing out MILLIONS of N95 masks because of the smoke/fog. What's the chances of Florida's Moron ever doing that for his people! Ha Ha. Hopefully, the smoke will not get that far.
Michigan is suppose to get the WORST of it on FRIDAY & SATURDAY.

Pat: We had 2 different kinds of Quiche and fresh cut up fruit and crescent rolls for lunch. I made a Pineapple/cream filled cake with Cool Whip on top. I must admit I bought the Quiche at Costco when I was there and won't be buying it again. You had to bake it and it just didn't puff up like mine do. It tasted decent and we all ate it, but HOMEMADE would have been much better. I just ran out of time to chop, mix and bake my own. Live and learn.
We had a wonderful visit. We've been close friends for 54 years.

Lee: The SHE-SHED LOOKS FANTASTIC. WOW. Love the roof job and the vent is a nice touch.

Can't wait to see the FLOWERS painted on the sides. Linda is going to be the envy of her neighbors for sure once the paint job is finished.

DAVE:
I want to be your neighbor and come over and borrow ICE CREAM! That's quite the stash you have in the freezer. Is there any room for PROTEIN like chicken, steak, ground beef? Ha Ha.

Nancy: You sure are doing a bang up job supporting the medical profession lately. All the best to you.

Karen: Did you do that weed job yet? How's the new hair cut working out. I know what you mean about it taking a few days to get the hair to do what you want it to. Seems to have a mind of it's own.
Good to hear that the Vet you're going to now is reasonable when it comes to charges. Glad Scooter is doing better with the blood-pressure.

Temp is rising as I post on here. Not that I'll be outside much today. I asked ART NOT to go biking today and he looked at me like I was nuts. (no comments from the peanut gallery) He breathes in way too much air on these bike rides when going up hills, etc and I'm sure his lungs will not appreciate the smog in the air.

Bill: You getting any of that SMOG like we are? Stay inside.
I'm glad I listened to my Grandson and bought a Air Purifier unit when we had the kitchen remodel being done. It helped back then and is working overtime now. FRIDAY and SAT are suppose to be the worse for our area.

Out of here to go and water the garden. Our potato plants have pushed through the soil and looks like we'll have potatoes again in the Fall. Fun dig them up and see how many we get.

Enjoy your day folks. BE SAFE.

Hope that by now you have recovered from the effects of that long trek to the other side of the Burg, Lee. Yesterday morning, Rita and I drove to the site of my high school reunion and encountered massive traffic tie-ups on the highway leading into Boston but made it just about on time. Apparently there was a motorcycle accident on the highway just north of where the school is located that caused the traffic problems. There was a pretty decent turnout considering we graduated 65 years ago and while some of us still get together for lunch twice a year, it was good to see others who don't live close. The school has certainly changed since we were there with a much larger physical plant and far fewer Jesuits on the faculty. A bit frightening to hear that the high school tuition is $26,000 a year but that last year the school offered something like $10.5 million in student aid. When we went there the tuition was in the hundreds and I remember being concerned that for my first year in college the tuition was going to be $1,000. Even adjusting for inflation and the increase in average incomes, it is hard to see how some families can handle those costs.
Smoke from Canada has been a bit of a problem here as well, but far less than what I saw on the news last night from New York City. We have been getting occasional rain but not nearly heavy enough to do much to clear the air of all the pollen.
