Had a wonderful day with family. Lots of laughs, kidding and playing games. And then the phone call came ... Advent Health Urgent Care. That's where Bert went yesterday and had the x-rays done. Seems like when the radiologist read the x-ray, he confirmed that there is a briken bone in there. Now tomorrow Wesley is going with Bert to pick up the x-ray while I contact our PCP to get a referral to an orthopedic doctor. If that doesn't work, then Wesley will take him to the ER. OY! This is not something we need right now., but we will deal with it.

And on that note, it's time to start drinking. Just kidding! Have a good night and I'll see ya tomorrow.

Late good evening Wrabbit family.

WOW.... lots of chatter on here.

Karen: So glad to hear from you and glad you like the church.

Pat: So sorry to hear about Bert and his fall. Never a good time for that I pray it all works out.

Dave: Wow... lots of things going on at your house. I've never heard of a refrig taking 2 weeks to get delivered. Hope you have a extra refrig in the garage or basement.

Take care of that cough and get better.

The rest of you folks please be safe and don't let anything happen to you.

We got very sad news this afternoon from out West. My brothers daughter passed away. (This is my brother that lives here in about 20 mins away from me) I don't have time or energy to go into any details, but she fell went to ER and she had a brain bleed. They were controlling it and then she had a seizure. She never regained conscientious (sp?) and she passed. A BIG SHOCK to all. I just got home from being over at his house with him and my SILaw.
The niece lives in Nevada.

I'm going to be off of here for awhile starting tomorrow. I'll come back as soon as I can post.
PLEASE NOTHING ON FACEBOOK about me and my eye. THANK YOU. You are my extended family and I trust you with this request.

I went to church today and prayed for ALL of US. Let's hope things get better with everyone on here.

By the way, we had a good day here with the kids helping put up the awning and dinner turned out great. It was a good Mother's Day except for the sad news about my niece.

Good Monday mornings, Bunnies! (Maddow Monday.)

First up, I'm wishing for a good outcome on your eyelid surgery today, K2. So sad to hear about your brother's daughter.

Feeling so bad for Bert. Nope, we don't bounce when we fall now, like we did when we were kids. Keep us up to date on his condition BB. Great T-shirt.

Happy to hear that you've found a church you want to go to, KC. And you like both the people and the priest. You're like me; After I fix something I need to test it out before I'll believe it's really fixed.

Lee, so Ava stuck you with the bill for breakfast, bet there was no Ed Sullivan for her last night.

Beautiful weather for all the Moms here yesterday.

As it should be today for the lawn-guy. He just doesn't get flowers or presents.

Good morning.
Condolences to you and your family Kathie. You do what the doc tells you and we’ll see you back when you’re ready and able. BIG HUGS headed your way.
Well that’s most certainly not the report you were expecting or hoping for about Bert’s x-rays Pat. Hopefully everything with the break will all work out. You both know that BIG HUGS are headed your way too.
Right you were Dave. No Topo Giggio for that little girl last night.
It should be a good day here. A warm up from a chilly Sunday.
Hi to the rest of you fine folks.
Please take it easy, be careful out there and watch out for the other guy.

Good morning!

First off - Sending prayers & best wishes to Kathie this morning for her eye lid surgery and the offering condolences on the passing of her niece. What a sad turn of events. Poor girl!

Dave - I was going to ask you about how you are going to be able to handle being without the refrigerator for 2 weeks. I do hope you have a back up one to hold all your ice cream.

Karen - Great finally hearing from you. You know how worried we get when a bunny fails to check in with the rest of the hutch. Glad you've found a new church that you like. Having a good priest makes it even better.

Lee - So you and Ava went out for breakfast, huh? Did you take Lu-Ann too or was this private time for you and Ava?

Bill - So how are the Red Socks doing? I don't keep up with any sports this time of the year. Heck, I don't even know what sports are being played right now. No sports life around here until August.

Waiting to hear from the doctor for a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. If we don't get a call soon, I'm going to suggest that Wesley take Bert to the ER. Otherwise, his broken bone could start to heal improperly and do more damage. I called the PCP about 2 hours ago and will give it another hour or so and send them off to the ER.

Right now though, I need a drink! Of coffee, of course. The good stuff will come later.

Good morning.
Pat sorry about Bert having the break. Even with age a break will heal quicker than a sprain.

Kathie, sorry about your niece. And hope all goes well with the surgery.

When we bought our fridge it took over two months for us to get it. So two weeks is not too bad.

The race yesterday was pretty good and of course the bad boy had to do what he is getting very know for, trying to make sure he wins by wrecking the leader, at least yesterday he finished below the driver he wrecked. The owner of the car he wrecked later said for him to not be surprised when one of his cars wrecks bad boy as retaliation is coming.

For Mother's Day Jennifer decided that the family was going to go see "Are you there God, It's me Margaret". So they bought tickets for the 4 pm show and everyone was able to go. Well everyone liked the movie even 15 year old Max, he did say there were a couple of places that it was sort of embarrassing but he did laugh thru most all of the movie. That book was her favorite when she was young, to the point that she was able to get a teacher to read it to the class, and even thought the teacher asked her at one point what she was reading she read the whole book. After they went to dinner at a place that Jennifer really likes for pizza and Max who lately does not like pizza actually liked it.

This morning I cooked biscuits in the toaster oven and found that even thought they say to use the upper rack I will need to use the lower as they came out sort of burnt.

All have a great day.

they came out sort of burnt.
I’m picturing the settings on your toaster oven Nancy. “Too Light. Light. Just Right. Sort of Burnt. Ya, it’s burnt.” :emoticon 0100 smile: Sounds like NASCAR better stand everyone in the corner before somebody Does something really stupid.
Of course Lu-Ann was with us Pat. We can’t imagine Mom’s Day breakfast without her. Fingers crossed that Bert gets tended to sooner rather than later. Heck, everyone says we don’t bounce back as quick as we used to. I sometimes don’t even “bounce”.
Be good my friends.

Pat, sure hope you hear back from the orthopedic Dr. soon, that is scary they sent Bert home from urgent care with a broken bone!

Lee, I can say for a fact I don't bounce. Nice of Ava to take LuAnn out for Mother's Day, typical "kid" she let dad pick up the tab.

Kathie, hope all went well with your eyelid surgery today. So sorry to hear about your niece passing.

Dave, hope you are feeling better after your latest round of bronchitis. So the question of the day seems to be, do you have a back up fridge or did you have to sit in your easy chair & polish off all your ice cream stash so it didn't melt?

Went down this morning to work on Miss Linda's front flower beds, only worked about an hour, the beds are in the shade but the humidity builds up quick. I told her I'd be back on Thurs. to work on them some more
Tomorrow morning I head to Jane's for the first official mow of the season. Other than that not much else going on in Beautiful Belleview

Bert spent most of the day at the hospital. He had a CT scan and who knows what else. Bottom line is that right now he is on the way home!!!! I'll know what's going on once I see his discharge papers. He must be good though - Only thing he was interested in was what I wanted him to pick up on the way home for dinner. That man lives through his stomach!!!

Your community sure owes you a great deal for all of your kindness to others Karen.
Bert’s likely hungry if he’s been at the hospital the better part of the day Pat. I hope his discharge papers have been stamped “GOOD TO GO”.
The OGC’s have been called to action tomorrow and likely a couple of additional days. We are building a wooden shed (from a kit) for a friend. Tuesday we plan on getting the base framed, levelled, and the floor on. Then like a bunch of Mennonite’s, without the beards and hats, we’ll have a good old fashioned barn raising.

Morning!

Looking forward to hearing some details on K2's surgery and on the final decision on Bert.

Lee; I can see you in the Amish garb and straw hat at a barn-raising.

No loss of ice cream here when the frig crapped out.

We have an upright freezer in the garage. So I took all the frozen stuff out there.

But non frozen stuff had to be eaten up or tossed. So now we have an old fashion "ice box" in the kitchen. We just put a couple of bags of ice in the freezer compartment of the kitchen frig and put some perishables and leftovers up there. Left-overs have a chance now and we have ice cubes for drinks.

The delay in getting the new freezer delivered is because they have a hard time getting more delivery guys. It's not because we had to order it. It's in stock at the store.

Our nephew/contractor has said for a while that he too has a hard time finding workers who are reliable, want to work, and just show up.

As for my physical condition, I'm still running rather weak, and I just can't shake this shortness of breath.

Oh well, that's enough of my whining.

Thinking of Kathie as we start this fine looking Tuesday.
And of Bert as well Pat. Please let him know that we're thinking of him. Does True Blue deliver? I'm askin' for a friend...
Reliable workers seem hard to find everywhere Dave. I know that Sunshine, who we rent the Florida house from, often says that they can't get people of any age who want to staff her Tim Horton's franchise, let alone show up for their scheduled shifts. And when they are there all they want to do is spend time on their phones!
Everyone have a fantastic day!

If he was at the hospital a long time, I can't understand why Bert might have been hungry, BB. Don't they serve haute cuisine like most every other hospital does?
Red Sox are having an up and down season so far. They recently had a 7 game win streak but followed it with two blown saves by their "best" relief pitcher and then being blown out in the next game. Luckily for Boston sports fans, our Celtics
won game 7 of their series with Philadelphia led by a record setting 51 points from Jason Tatum. Next up, beginning tonight, will be the Miami Heat as the Celts continue their quest to win an 18th championship banner.
Hope that they can repair Bert's broken bone quickly. We have a friend who is having a problem with his hip and will need hip replacement surgery. At the present time they claim that the earliest date that is available is sometime in August which I think is incomprehensible and inexcusable.
My hip seems to be responding pretty well to the physical therapy. Slow but steady improvement though I don't expect to be shedding my cane in the near future or entering any 5k runs.
Just began reading the latest Dennis Lehane novel. It is set in South Boston in the late 60's and he does stories set in Boston, better than almost anyone other than Robert Parker.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS MORNING???? It was there just a minute ago, wasn't it?

Now that Bert knows that he didn't break anything, it's amazing how much better he can walk. He's still using my walker, but he said the painful area feels much better. Of course, I had to just remind him that he is supposed to be putting ice on it. He still hasn't done it!

Bill - No gourmet food at the hospital. From experience I know that they don't feed you in the ER. Bert & Wesley both were starving by the time they were on the way home. So they got gourmet food at Wendy's!! I got a Caesar salad and they got double burger meals. Couldn't believe that cost over $35.! No wonder we never do fast food. At that rate, we'd go broke!!

Kathie - How you doing, girl? I hope surgery went well and that you'll be able to drop by soon.

Lee - Have fun with the rest of the OGCs constructing that shed. I'm sure there will be liquid refreshments served at the end of your "shift".

Dave - Now I feel better that you have that freezer to store all your "goodies" in. Good idea having bags of ice to keep the perishables from spoiling. That's always my biggest fears. If one of our refrigerators conks out we have a problem. Both of the freezers are filled to the max and that's not even taking the refrigerator sides into consideration.

It's a real hot one outside today, so I'm doing the logical thing - I'm making chicken noodle soup! I offered Bert a few other choices, but this is what he wants. I'm so glas be had diced up chicken in the freezer.

And after mentioning food, it reminded me that it's time to find something for lunch. Hi to those that I missed. Have a great rest of the day, everyone!

First and foremost: Pat please tell BERT I send my best wishes for a quick healing. I feel so bad this happened to him. He's your RIGHT HAND MAN for everything. Sure must have put a scare on both of you when he ended up in the Hopsital for testing. Get him to use the ICE. It takes down swelling and he'll heal faster. And GET HIM TO SIT DOWN. Continue to get help from your family. Sounds like WESLEY is doing a good job helping out. :clap002:

Hi Gang,
I pulled up the bandages so I coauld sneak in this post.
I'm doing good. The "Ice CREAM" type of HEADACHE is almost all gone. Just a ghost of it in the background. ART has been a DREAM NURSE. He made schedules up with all the meds and ice packs, salves, Propell drink I'm suppose to take, etc, etc. I feel bad that he is walking back and forth so much. What a guy! A keeper for sure. (next week might be a different story when I'm up and around again) Ha Ha. Just kidding.

Surgery went well. They put you to sleep and then they do a QUICK WAKE UP to check to see if the eyes are even where the issue was. I guess I'm aware and have to follow directions. I DO NOT REMEMBER THAT AT ALL. The nurse said they give you something so you don't remember. Amazing.
The hardest thing right now is the Eye Ice Packs. 15 mins ON and then 1 hour OFF. Have to do that for another day after today. Sure makes me REST a lot.

YES... I have 2 black eyes. Not as bad as I thought they would be, but since any burse I get takes FOREVER to go away I'll be looking Black, then reddish, then greenish and Yellowish as it progressively gets absorbed and goes away. Joy, JOY.

I tried to read all your posts, but can't chat about them.

BEHAVE and I'll be back soon. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Good afternoon. Had PT this morning and for once got a massage after all the exercises, so much better that way. Doing a load of laundry right now.

K2, glad that you are doing good.

Pat, don't know whether to say glad that Bert did not break anything or not since muscle problems usually take longer to heal.

Not sure if dinner will be hot dogs or salad.

All have a great day.

Kinda sorry to hear that Doc Rivers has lost his job as head coach of the 76ers. Loved him when he coached the Celtics for all those years and not sure that anything he could have done would have change the outcome of this latest matchup, but it is exactly what happened to his team last year and since they can't fire the whole team, the coach is almost always the victim.
Sorry to see that Alaskan Daily is being cancelled after only one season. I thought it was perhaps the only new show this past season that was
actually worth watching and Hillary Swank was excellent. Don't think we will miss most of the other shows that are being cancelled although I did sometimes like South New York.
Glad your eye surgery went well and that, aside from black eyes, you should recover relatively soon, K2.
Temps made it into the 80s today but are due to be about 20 degrees lower for the next few days.
Saw my kidney doctor today and got a good report and don't need to see him again until October.
Second night of

So good to hear from you, K2. And pleased that your surgery appears to have went well. Now you're only going to have to come up with a good story about your two black eyes. Something about you kicking a$$ at a biker bar would be good.

I can be dense at times, BB. So since Bert didn't actually break any bones in his fall, the pain he's been feeling is from bruising and muscle strains? A weird coincidence; I got a craving for some chicken noodle soup yesterday.

I'm with you Bill on the "Alaskan Daily" TV show. And like you, our temperature is going to take a plunge by 20 degrees today. As the pollen count remains extremely high. But little kids are thrilled to see "helicopters" falling from the trees every time the wind blows.

So how did the shed-raising go yesterday, Lee? And did any of you old farts actually read the instructions for the kit? Or just look at the pictures?
1f61b.png
A picture of it would be cool.

You do know KC that the official first mow of the season only makes the grass grow faster?

No grocery shopping today, just a quick stop for some sugarless 7-Up & ginger ale.

Good morning!

Kathie, glad to hear the eyelid surgery went well and sounds like after all these years you've got Art trained pretty well!

Dave, good to know that no ice cream was lost in the fridge dying. Bummer that the bronco is still kicking your butt, have you been back to the Dr. for a follow up to be sure it's not pneumonia?
And yep, I really wasn't ready to start mowing already but it was getting pretty shaggy

Pat, wait, what??? So Bert spent all day at the hospital and DOESN'T have a broken bone? Boy, talk about good news/bad news! Chicken noodle soup sounds good, even if it is 95 degrees outside!

Lee, so how did the barn raising go yesterday? Hoping none of the OGC's over did it in the heat & humidity yesterday.

Bill, good to hear you are still getting good reports from the doctors, it's always nice to hear you don't need to come back for a while. How did Cribbage turn out for you all last night?

Taking Scooter to the vet this morning, she's been having problems with her left eye having a discharge and now she's kind of favoring it & not opening it all the way. We are going to a new vet closer to home today. The last time I called my vet about her eye they couldn't get me in for several weeks. And then tried to set me up with a drop off appointment, 2 trips over & back, No Thanks! I called the new vet at 7:30 this morning & have an appt. for 10. I was surprised to get in that quick. I will be asking if they can do the blood pressure checks & if so we'll be changing vets. The new vet is about 15 mins away from me
Time to find some breakfast before I have to load the kitty up & go
