Good evening. The race today was good, the F1 drivers did not do too bad. The IMSA driver pretty much stayed in the top 15 until he got caught up in a mess at the end.

We had lunch at Longhorn Steak House and I got the Salmon, got the biggest one and it was so good. Had a salad and backed potato with it and brought home about half or more of the salmon and half the potato, so that will be my lunch tomorrow.

All have a good night.

Oh what a difference a day makes. No high winds here yesterday. Actually no winds. And it was sunny and warm all day. But sadly, a day of cleanup and repairs for many people. Some areas won't get their electric reconnected till Wednesday.

Do I see a hint of orneriness in your and your friend's eyes, KC? I for one enjoy the bigger pictures that are posted on here. Did you ever think of attending a mostly black church? For one thing, they've got better music.

Thanks K2 for putting in a good word for us to the "Big Guy". Your mention of stopping at White Castle reminded me of that show, "The Food That Built America" on the History Channel on Sundays. I'm hooked on it with all its' different episodes. And probably recorded another 3 from yesterday. Lots of history and interesting facts. Like; White Castle originated the Slider. The founder originally sold meatball sandwiches, but when a customer complained about how long it was taking to cook his sandwich, he just mashed a meatball down to cook faster.......And so the beginning of the Slider.

BB; Happy that Jimmy was surprised and enjoyed his birthday party. I understand that in Florida it only takes one parent of a kid to be offended by some form of art to have it considered porn.

It's so nice Lee to have our leader and your leader of Canada get together in a calm, respectful, and intelligent manner. Two good guys, now that the Buffoon is hopefully history.

No plans that HAVE to be done today. But there's a pretty good chance we'll be picking up a new door closer.

One last interesting fact I've learned from that TV show. What or who is Dairy Queen named after? Of all things, it's the cow. The queen of the dairy industry.

Lots of big pics on the board yesterday. Neat.
That’s a great picture of you and Connie, Karen! Wouldn’t it be ironic if the roof wind mitigation inspector actually got blown off the ladder? We’ll be keeping Scooter in our thoughts.
Jimmy has that “take the picture so I can tuck into this cake” look on his face Pat. Did you need a special burn permit to light all of his candles?
Around town yesterday there was a lot more limbs down than we thought Dave. I guess the storm Saturday brought down stuff that had been damaged or weakened in the storm just before we got home. I hope the door closer is an easy fix and none of the mounting points got tweaked out of shape.
Packing yet Bill? Or unpacking?
I thought both Kimi and Jensen did pretty well at COTA yesterday Nancy. The racing is a lot different from the open wheel cars they are more accustomed to.

We have spent a couple of days looking through open houses for our friend Lisa. No Dave, she’s not lost or missing in one. She and Shiraz, her Greyhound and come to think of it her wine ;) , are seriously thinking of moving this way too. Razzie hasn’t been well so we’ve seen a few places for her. Lu-Ann uses her phone like a tv camera and remotely walks Lisa through the properties. Lisa can see things and ask questions of us or the realtor. This technology stuff might just last.
I best get going. Breakfast time for Ava and coffee time for me.
All of you have a fantastic day.

Good morning.

Yes the F1 drivers did not do bad, and yes the Cup cars are very different than what they used to drive. For Kimi this was his second Cup race and saw this morning that he said one thing that was hard for him was drivers passing or just trying to pass in corners. Yeah in any NASCAR race they don't play follow the leader, except at Daytona and Talledega, they pass whenever they can no matter where on the track.

My day today is laundry.

All have a great day.

Good Morning Wrabbits.

We're OFF and RUNNING (actually driving) EARLY this morning to the Dental specialist for Art's sore tooth. They had a
Cancellation and asked if he wanted it. HECK YEAH! So, he's on his way. Said he would be okay without me driving him to the EAST SIDE of Town. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:
Then at 12:45 Art has a Vision Test on the opposite side of town, Rochester Hills. Boy is he going to be a busy boy!

And so this is how our EARLY morning started. Whew!

Dave/Lee: No wind here this morning. Just gloomy. 39F It rained during the night.

Karen: Great picture of you and Connie. So glad you remembered to take a picture. Now it's time to get back into the mundane everyday routine again. Thoughts going out to little Scooter. Getting older even if you're a Cat sucks.

BB: How are you and Bert doing after the Big Birthday Party. Hopefully, the people that said they were going to help CLEAN-UP actually did it. (my money is on "they didn't) Ha Ha

Lee: How nice that you and Lu-Ann are helping out your friend with finding a home to move closer to your area. I think the town should give you both a award for getting SO MANY FOLKS to move to A'Burg area. How many more are left in the old neighborhood?
Hope Lisa is able to find something soon. This is a good time to move. Not too cold or hot.

Okay, I'm off to get my 1st cup of coffee.

Good morning, not much going on here today, still kind of cool & overcast but I'm sure that will change!

Lee, how neat that you & LuAnn are on a house hunt for your friend! I hope you find just the right one for her.

Dave, thanks for that interesting piece of info on Dairy Queen, I had no idea they were named after cows.

Going out in a little bit to see one of my "yard" ladies, Miss Reba said she lost a couple plants to the cold & wants me to replace them for her. She went to the store with her friend, but said she couldn't see well enough to pick out the flowers so I will do that for her. Enjoy the day all!

Good morning! It's already 80 degrees outside, but with the humidity it feels like 84. Plus it's a bit windy.

Karen - Great picture of you and Connie. Sorry Scooter isn't doing better.

Kathie - Before Missy and Wesley got here yesterday to help clean up, my OCD husband had done most of the taking down of decorations. Missy & Wes did up some leftover dishes and pans, plus loaded all the balloons into 3 black cocntractor bags to take home for the kids. By the time they left, everything was back to order and you would never know there had been a party here.
Good luck to Art with all his running around for appointments today. So did he buy any new models yesterday?

Lee - We were laughing when all the candles were lit. I told Jimmy that if the fire department showed up at our door, he was going to have to tell them that it was all his fault for setting off the smoke detectors.
Nice that you are off on a house hunt for your friend. You really are moving all your friends to your area one by one. That sure is a pretty area.

Dave - You're right. It only takes one narrow minded individual to decide a piece of art it porn. Reminds me of when the Carnival Pride ship came out. The common theme throughout the ship was Renaissance art. Sme people were warning on Cruise Critic that people shouldn't take their children on that ship due to all the "dirty pictures"! Talk about ignorant close minded people!! Unfortunately, our state is loaded with way too many of them that between banning art and books, they have nothing better to do, thanks to faux news!

Nancy - Glad you enjoyed your race.

We decided to reward ourselves last night with dinner out. Seeing as how we still had a gift card to Outback we went there. Probably the first time in at least 3 years. It was ok, but nothing like Manny's Chophouse steaks and dinners. Their prices have gone up quite a bit and just not worth it.

Time now to start our dinner for tonight. I'm making lamb shanks in the crockpot. It has to cook for about 6 hours, so it's time to get the show on the road. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

BB: You just had to mention LAMB SHANKS! It's 38F and still dreary here and Lamb Shanks would be perfect. Oh well, not going to happen..... they just want too much for mostly bone even though the meat is delicious. Enjoy.
Glad the place got cleaned up.

Art DID NOT BUY ANYTHING at the Model Car Show. He said he had more than some of the vendors. I can attest to that statement. Ha Ha.

Art's appointment for the Root Canal went well. He's home and even had a piece of toast and coffee already. I told him he really should wait awhile and he said he was eating on the other side of his mouth. OKAY! DUH! Sure glad he was able to drive over and get that done 2 MONTHS earlier than what it was scheduled for. They helped him and he helped them by filling in the cancellation. He said the young doctor was even nicer than the usual doctor he sees there. And her name was Ashley! :emoticon 0100 smile:
Now he just has the Eye test at 12:45 PM. We LOVE supporting our Medical Teams! NOT :(

Kathie - Bert picks up lamb shanks one package of 2 at a time when the price is better than normal. We just freeze them until we're in the mood for lamb shanks. I'm making 3 today and still have 3 more in the freezer. Spring lamb should start coming in soon to the supermarkets, so we'd get more, if the price was decent.

Madness, just pure madness. Shooting little children in a private Christian elementary school. What's it going to take to get those assault style weapons banned???

Have you gotten a real estate license yet, Lee?

With all of Arts stops yesterday, I'm beginning to wonder if you sent him out the the house with 8 cups of coffee in him, K2. Great cartoon.

KC; I have a feeling that Miss Reba likes and appreciates you helping around her house.

Bet there was a lot of balloon popping sounds coming from the home of those kids who got all the balloons, BB. Hoping you got some of those Bloomin Onions at Outback.

Kathi and I played a game of treasure-hunt yesterday morning. She went out to her car for a quick bit of shopping. But she came back in the house in less than a minute. She couldn't find her car keys in her handbag. She went through it again and we went around the house looking for those keys. No luck. So she took my keys while I did an intense search around the house. Over and under things in every room and closets. Heck, I even looked in the stove and refrigerator. Still no keys. When she got back I told her they had to either be in her purse or in the area the dogs roam.

BINGO, the keys were in her purse the whole time.

Quite often that purse makes things disappear, for a while. And then the spirits make things magically reappear again.

Good morning. No real plans for me today. Am doing a load of laundry.

When I go to PT tomorrow I will be telling them I won't be in April 7 and will ask if I can come in Monday the 3rd. Have a very good reason not to be there the 7th, we will be going to Tampa on the 6th and hopefully missing all the traffic. Then coming home on Monday the 10th.

Bruce is home today, but now tomorrow he has a full day of work.

All have a great day.

Don't you hate it when the smoke alarm starts to beep at 3:30 in the morning. I do. To make matters worse, I swapped out the old battery for a brand new still in the package one when we got home from FL. ARGH!!!
I am surprised that Carnival was even allowed to to have a "Pride"
ship "come out" in FL Pat. If it wasn't so sad it would almost be funny.

You cartoon reminds me of seeing the statue of David Kathie. A young lady asked what that was hanging between the statue of David's legs. The guide responded that was his penis. She responded with "I've seen a penis. That's a wee wee".
I'm here all week folks.
I bet you have a dryer that makes socks disappear and reappear to, eh Dave?

Not much else going on here today. First I have to search for Kathie's "Go Fund Us" page. ;)
Who's that that just posted? Ah, good morning Nancy.
I've got some measuring to do for baseboards. I figure it should only take us a day or so to box the windows and do the base. Doug has a brad nailer (no, I don't know why it's called that) but it should make pretty short work of the job.
This afternoon I get, finally, a haircut. Heck, at the price I'm gonna get them all cut!
Have a fantastic day everyone.

Good morning, everyone!

Broke my heart to hear about another school shooting and this time at a private Christian school. When will it ever end? Of course MTG said it wouldn't have happened if there were more guns in the school. What an a$$ she is!

Dave - We too have gone on treasure hunts like that around here too. It was a frequent happening when we had our boarders staying with us. You never knew where they might have put their keys down. Happened just about every day!
Took a pass on the Bloomin Onion the other night. Otherwise I wouldn't have eaten any of my dinner.

Kathie - Loved your cartoon. Definitely that was taken in Florida where nudity is something dirty and sinful. Just like drag shows and LGBTQ people! I am so ashamed of what is going on here with deathSantis and his cronies. They are totally ruining this state and there's no way to stop them at this point.
The lamb shanks last night came out perfectly. Just as I was finished fixing my plate, Missy called. She was on a roll talking, so while she did that, I just ate. I probably would have had a second plate, if she had stopped talking. She was on her way home from work and was lonely, so I got the call this time. LOL

Lee - Don't forget that the Carnival Pride "came out" before the fanatics took over the state, back in the more normal times. Not sure that the Pride is even allowed in Florida any longer these days.

Not a lot planned for today beyond a trip to Sam's. I don't have to cook due to leftovers from last night and the Outback.

Time now for a cup of coffee. Have a good one, gang!

No one in our March Madness pool has a team in the Final Four and I have no favorite although I suppose I would like to see a real Cinderella team win. I didn't think that FAU would make it past Tennessee but they did so and are in the Finals along with Miami so two of the four teams will be from Florida which I doubt any of the experts would have predicted before the games began.
Taking our next door neighbor out to dinner tonight in appreciation for all she has done for us during our stay.
The temps have been in the high 80's and low 90's for the past few days. Wishing we could find a way to bottle up some of that heat and bring it home with us. Back home, April frequently lives up to its reputation as the "cruelest month" and bringing some of that warmth north would be very nice.
Great pictures of the birthday party, Pat. Did Jimmy find his AARP
membership card among his gifts?

Good afternoon, busy morning around here today!

Kathie, that was some Dr. marathon Art was running yesterday, but I guess getting them all over & done in 1 day is not a bad thing, just expensive & tiring.

Dave, I am quite familiar with the black hole purse, happens to me more times than I care to admit. What's even worse is losing a knife or a pair of scissors I'm using in the kitchen, my kitchen is NOT that big but I swear sometimes they drift off into another universe!!

Pat, haven't been to Outback in years, but the last time we did go it wasn't anything spectacular. Nice that you have enough leftovers though to skip cooking again.

Lee, remember, measure twice, cut once! I've heard that brad nailers are pretty cool tools. My friends hubby is into woodworking and he was telling me all about the tools he has bought for his hobby & a brad nailer was one of them. He was able to find some good deals on used tools online.

Bill, sorry to hear your visit to the sunshine state is coming to an end, maybe you will get lucky & some of the nicer weather will follow you home.

The inspector showed up this morning to do the wind mitigation report & while he was in the garage he noticed my truck was leaking oil after I'd moved it. I just had the oil changed on Sunday & hadn't driven it since then. He said that maybe they just didn't get the oil pan tight enough, so of course I had to get under the truck & take a look. I couldn't find any wet spots underneath at all, when the inspector finished in the attic he took a look & said the oil pan was fine, so they probably just didn't tighten the filter. I took it back to Valvoline after he left & they told me it was just "residual" oil from the oil change & they cleaned it all up. I don't buy that for a minute but so far there hasn't been any more leaking, so as long as it's fixed I'm happy. Won't be using them again though that's for sure!
Tonite is the dinner at the clubhouse & I made an upside down jello cake. Yellow cake layer on top raspberry jello & sliced peaches in the 8" cake pan, with more jello poured over the top & sides. Once it sets up you flip it out & there is the layer of fruit & jello on top of the cake encased in Jello. I've made it before for birthdays & it usually turns out pretty good.
Need to go find some lunch , have a good day all!

Busy doing nothing over here so far today. I'm liking it too.

Last night I rolled 32 Stuffed Cabbage rolls and froze them raw in pkgs that I can take out and cook for us. I was going to bake them and then freeze them, but I was too beat to do that.
That FoodSaver vacuum machine sure was useful last night. They'll keep for a long time.

KAREN: I need to see a picture of that YUMMY Upside Down JELLO CAKE. Sounds delicious.

Lee:
Good that you'll have that base board job done faster with the help of O.G.C. guys brad nailer. As I remember the guys that did our kitchen used that a lot.

NEGC: I think you and Rita need to extend your stay in Florida to the 1st of MAY next year.
Get there the 1st of January and leave April 30th. It will still be cold when you get home, but not as bad as it is right now. THE WIND has been brutal the last few days. 46F right now.
Nice of you to take your neighbors out to dinner. Never hurts to be kind to those that help you out while down in Florida.

DAVE: So did you get enough exercise going through the entire house looking for those KEYS? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Happens to all of us. I like when one of use can't find our Cell Phone and we call up the other person and listen for the RINGING! Works everytime.

Nancy: Nothing nicer than getting the laundry out of the way.

Okay, I'm off to see the Orthopedic Dr and see if he'll give me the knee shots. I'll let you know.

Be good Wrabbits.

Have I told you of my low opinion, at times, of computers and technology? I was reminded of that low opinion yesterday morning.

Kathi and I both had a 6 month check-up with the family doctor. So we went together.

On Sunday I got a computer generated E-mail reminding me of my appointment, and Kathi got a reminder of hers on her smart phone,

So we show up, and the office has no record of it. Plus the lady we were there to see isn't going to be in all week. Kathi even showed them her phone reminder.

SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TOLD THEIR STUPID COMPUTER!

So now we're scheduled for next month.

Yes K2, I definitely got in my "steps" looking for those keys. Happy that your knees feel better.

"Residual oil" my butt, KC. That stuff all blows off on your way home. I too think they didn't tighten up the filter or drain plug enough.

This has definitely been a "Cinderella" year for March-Madness, Bill.

Speaking of those Bloomin Onions BB, once in a while we'll go to Outback and just get drinks and one of those.

Loved your "wee-wee" joke, Lee. (AKA Baldy) So once this trim work is all done, what's your next big project?

It's cookie-making day for Kathi and one of the grandsons. Orange drop cookies that actually have orange juice in them.
