Missed a turn on the way home from Bert &Pat's house so we took the long way back to Vero but the trip still only took two hours. Wonderful weekend in the Bellalargo BNB which gets a 5 star rating (the highest possible) in my BG Travel Guide (which has standards far higher than those used by Michelin).
Didn't take long to fall back into bad habits and didn't get out of bed this morning until the sound of the lawn maintenance company's mowers circled the house and made it impossible to continue lying there.
Watched the Jeopardy Teen Reunion program last night and for one of the few times in memory, I knew the answer to the Final Jeopardy question while none of the teen contestants did. Guess I am "Smarter than a Third Grader" or whatever that old Jeff Foxworthy program was called.
K2, don't know about "Pure" Michigan but Massachusetts has a program that they advertise heavily where they list the names of people who have had unclaimed money that were turned into the State from old insurance policies, dormant bank accounts, uncashed state and federal tax return checks, and other sources and by contacting our State Treasurer's office they can get those funds. That amount of money in the state treasury is staggeringly in the millions. When I got home yesterday, I had to call my Credit Union because when they opened the new checking account they failed to set it up so that money could be transferred into it from our other two accounts and I was concerned that when there were no funds and no transactions in or out of that account for a period of time, they would close it out. We still have one checking account that we have been able to use for our direct deposits and to pay our various bills and expenses, but I want to have the new account to dedicate it to my annual football pool or other special needs. The matter was quickly and efficiently handled by the person I spoke to at the Credit Union, so all is now well.
It was really great to be able to get together again with Lee and LuAnn and Bert and Pat. I second Lee's comments about the food at the restaurant. My veal parmesan was not only as delicious as I have ever had, but, even after I had had my fill, there was still enough left to take home for two more meals, one of which was last night's dinner. The picture of our gathering that I posted on Facebook actually got over 60 viewings.
The living room in this house faces the East and it has a front wall of floor to ceiling windows so, while the AC keeps the rest of the house comfortably cool, the sunlight in the morning makes the room quite warm. The room has heavy dark drapes or we probably wouldn't be able to watch the TV there during the day unless we closed them.
