Dave, after Nancy and I married and I was in the Navy we lived in National City. That was only a few months though as my ship did another voyage to WestPac. Nancy went back to her parents until I returned.

Glad to hear that Mark did well.

"DOWN goes Frazier!" The famous line spoken by Howard Cosell in the early 70's.

Yesterday it would have been "DOWN goes Kathi!"

Every Friday she picks up two granddaughters at the end of the day from their elementary school and takes them home. As she was helping them out of the car she slipped on a patch of ice and did a face plant on their cement drive. Luckily she didn't knock out her front teeth, break her nose or any other bones. But her front teeth cut into her upper lip and she needed 4 stitches to close up the cut. I've got a feeling that that lip will be hurting more today than it was yesterday.

K2; Pleased to hear that Mark's surgery went well and he got to go home. It's funny that you in Michigan got news coverage on that Toledo fire, but this Ohioan never saw any news coverage on it all day.

You have my sympathies on putting those names on stockings, BB. The worst part is not being able to do them over if you goof the first time.

KC; How cool it is that Barb now knows how to get around that sensor problem till it's replaced.

It sucks K2, but you ARE doing the right thing in not having the regular Christmas dinners and get togethers. The Covid vaccine is in sight, now is not the time to get sloppy and getting or giving someone else the virus. PATIENCE.

San; If I remember right, National City was just north of Chula Vista. And wasn't it known for its' "Mile of cars"? To you other Bunnies, it was a mile of car dealerships and used car lots right next to each other.

OK Lee where were you yesterday?

Here's an oddballer fact. The treats in those advent calendars for the dogs, that my daughter sent us, are made out of salmon and sweet potatoes. Sounds kinda yucky to me, but I'm not a pooch. And I also don't eat my own poop.

I just had another happy thought about when Biden is inaugurated. There will be no more White House meetings where they go around the table so each official can praise the Buffoon.

Good Morning Wrabbits! And a bright and hopefully sunny morning/afternoon it will be. It's not windy and that makes all the difference here in the North.

Thanks for the good wishes for Mark. Haven't talked to Jill this morning to see how his first night was! Hope it was pain-free.

So, I got up early and was at our Kroger's and was amazed at how many items were not on the shelf. Life a box of CAKE Flour, Honey, Large Eggs! There were more, but you get the drift. Some lady couldn't find "Counter Cleaner". I told her to go to the local ACE Hdwe. They have all that kind of stuff and it's not priced much higher than at the grocery store.
I was glad to get in early and get out. Lots of those huge carts up and down the aisle that the "PICKERS" use. I totally feel sorry for them having to go up and down and looking for items. That would get OLD REAL FAST for me.

Art went biking and I'm about to leave to go get my "teeth cleaned"! Whoppe.

DAVE: So sorry about Kathi's FALL. Amazing she didn't crack her teeth and nose! OUCH!
She's going to have a FAT LIP for Christmas.

I have nothing more to add this morning. Be back later tonight.

BE SAFE and .............well you know the drill by now!!

Good morning! Definitely not a great day here in Florida. It's going to get to a whopping 70 today. Good day to stay inside and watch football!

Dave - OMG! Poor Kathi! For sure she's going to have a fat lip today. One thing on the bright side - If she goes anywhere, no one will ask her what happened to her lip when she's wearing a mask! You have my permission to share that with her!
Still haven't gotten up the nerve to start those stockings, but I really should do it today.

K2 - They probably used some sort of beta blocker on Mark's hip, so he might not feel much pain for a couple of days. If possible he should sit on a bar stool type chair for a while instead of a regular kitchen or dining room chair. It will be easier for him to get up.

San - Your mentioning that Nancy went back to live with her parents while you were at sea, reminds me that I did the same. When in doubt, go home to your parents!!! I wonder how many other women did the same thing in those days, or possibly even today?

Earth to Lee ... Where are you hiding? Come out, come out and talk to us!

Our dinner last night with friends was very nice. The Grille had a good crowd, but still way below the allowed limit. We weren't rushed by any means, so we had a good visit. Our friend said that he thinks we should all get the vaccine as soon as it's available to us. That's right from a doctor, so I'd go with that too.
We did run into another couple that we haven't seen in a very long time. She retired from the US Treasury Dept. with a great pension. They have lots of money too. They were telling us they had to cancel 7 cruises and right now should have been on a cruise to South America. Last cruise they got in before everything shut down was to Tahiti! They wouldn't admit it, but I'm sure they watch faux news. They don't believe many people died from the virus and that anyone who dies now, on their death certificate it will say they died of COVID, including people like George Floyd and anyone else killed by a gunshot. Totally delusional!

Time to get this posted and get on with the day. Got an important Gator game to watch this afternoon. If they beat Tennessee, they will win the SEC east and will play for the conference championship!!!

Have a great day, everyone, and maybe I'll manage to get back here somewhere along the line. Stay safe! :)

Hi Gang.
Drove to the East side of town....45 mins....and got to the dentist office and waited in the parking lot for 10 mins and out comes the Dentist himself! I roll down the window and he says I have some bad news. The water heater broke in the bldgs basement and when he went to shut off the water so it wouldn't keep running that knob broke. Long story short he said he would have a hard time cleaning my teeth and asked if I could re-schedule! NOT a PROBLEM at all. So I get back on the freeway and drive home! Nice waste of a morning. Feel bad for the dentist having to get his water heater and plumbing fixed. He's handy, but not sure if he'll be doing this himself or not.

Got home and there was a PKG at the front door. Bring it in and it's a HUGE Poinsettia plant from our friend Elaine! WOW....like she didn't need to do that. I called her and she was glad I liked it. I sent her a picture. It's HUGE and has pine cones and pine branches in it too. It's a deep pink. So thoughtful of Elaine.
She went on to tell me about a guy that Mike had just purchased a month before he passed. She called the company in South Carolina and they said under the circumstances they would take it back and credit her Visa card. $1750 buck. UNREAL. Who spends that much on a gun!! She had to take it to a certified gun dealer close to her and sign papers and pay him $75 bucks to insure and package it and return it to the dealer. Amazing what you have to go through with guns. She gave another Smith & Westin to Mike's nephew. She has a $750 gun It's like the gun from 007 movie. She's having the Nephew help her sell that. One friend of theirs is interested. She said she would give it to him for $500.00
And last but not least he has a full size 'jacked-up' riffle that he kept in the hallway closet. She's getting rid of that too. UNREAL.......we have known Mike almost all our lives and never knew he was into expensive guns. CRAZY. She still has the Rubicon Jeep to sell. She's losing money every month just letting it collect dust in the garage. I told her the price our Mark found for her ( $25,000- 27,000) is a good price and she should have sold it to the guy Mark had lined up for her 2 months ago. Oh well, Mark said he's done trying to help since Elaine is still into the HOLDING ONTO stage. She's getting better slowly.
We told her to tell Stacey her daughter NOT TO COME HOME for CHRISTMAS. She's in the Santa Barbara area and doesn't need to be traveling around at Christmas and picking up Covid germs. She can come in late Jan. The Thanksgiving SPIKE will be happening in a couple weeks and the last thing she needs is to be in a airport or plane with a lot of people.

DAVE: How's your Kathi doing today? OUCH is all I can think of!! Hope she feels better.

Art was SO HAPPY he cancelled his dental cleaning and went on the bike ride after I told him about the water issue at the dentists office. Whew.......he would have really been ticked off if he had missed his bike ride. It's actually rather nice outside.

Ohio State is beating MSU's butt right now in football. Bummer

Negc: How you doing buddy? Feeling better everyday? Hope so.

BB: Mark says STANDING is the best position for him right now. He leans on the Crutches to keep the weight off the hip. Gotta let all those inside stitches heal.

Glad your dinner went well at the Grille. And good to know you'll get the Virus vaccine. I'll take it too. I just hope they give the shots to the Hospital workers and Nursing home WORKERS and PATIENTS first. Except for grocery store runs, I basically stay home or just pick stuff up at curbside. Those workers in nursing homes are the ones infecting the residence in those places. The resident folks don't go in and out and have been on LOCK-DOWN to their rooms for months. I feel so sorry for my brother and 98 yr old NICK. They deserve better. TEST those WORKERS BETTER is my advice.

Okay, out of here for now.

LEE: Hope you and Lu-Ann are okay over your way. STAY SAFE and stay inside.

Good evening,
Kathie, bummer about having to do all that driving only to have your appt. cancelled...but at least you came home to a lovely surprise!!

Lee, hope you feel better soon...try some hot tea with honey & lemon & a dose of rum, or whiskey whichever you prefer...oh...and Vicks too...

Pat, sounds like a nice time at the Grille last night....I am really starting to embrace the "less is more" decorating idea this year....I only put about half of my ornaments on the tree...and it looks just fine...

Dave, wow...sure glad Kathi didn't do any worse damage on herself with that fall...I bet her lip isn't the only thing sore today...time to add some of those Yak's to her Christmas list!!

Bill/Rita time for an update on the patient...hope he is doing well!!

Jane ended up coming over last night to drive me to my gift drop off meeting....I've been having some trouble driving at night, so she offered to drive me...she brought Hansel along & they spent the night too...
This morning I went over to her house & put up her outside decorations for her...so now both my sister's have pretty Christmas lights up outside...going to church in the morning...first time in a couple weeks...so I'm past due...if I don't check in before I leave I will see you all after...

KC - Want to come down here and do the outside lights? Bert just isn't motivated to do it yet. Got everything done inside and Bert has gotten only to pit the red bulbs in the light on each side of the garage, Without anything else, it looks like a "house of ill repute"!!!

Lee - I second everything KC told you to fight your cold. Have a hot toddy and break out the Vicks. Best meds ever!!!!

Gators won their game!!!! Now it's on the Atlanta to meet Alabama once again for the SEC championship!!! Also keeping my fingers crossed that our QB, Jyke Trask wins the Heisman trophy!!!

Time to make some coconut shrimp with a salad for dinner. Then time to get comfy for the rest of the night. Nothing else to talk about tonight, so I'm going to say good night. See you all tomorrow! Have a great night. :)

I can't believe another week has passed. Bill is doing much better, thanks for asking. Still using the cane, but walking around the house without it, and when he walks with the cane he is going faster than he used to. His appetite is better and he is not quite as tired as he was. I am sure when we get to Florida it will be much easier for him to get out and walk and build up his stamina. We still haven't decided how we are getting there, but we will figure it out,

Glad to hear that Mark is doing well after his surgery. Lee, hope you feel better soon. Poor Kathy, I am sure she is hurting, but she is so lucky she din't break her teeth. Pat, glad your doctor friend recommended the vaccine. Bill and I will get it as soon as we can. I'm sure we won't be in the first group, so we will have a chance to see what side effects are affecting people, I wonder if we will be able to get the shots in Florida or if it will be only Florida residents. Tony, I told Juliana about visiting McCloud and she will see if they can get there. I'm hoping the weather stay good, as I just found out my daughter booked Juliana Boston to Denver, then Denver to Sacramento. Last airport I want to be in during December would be Denver. Kathy, if you have a minute could you send me the recipe for the Mexican wedding cookies. I usually make something fo the neighbors for Christmas and they would be a nice addition to the other cookies.

Everyone stay well. We are having snow after it rained all day. Don't know what the accumulation will be, but anything is just too much!

Hard to believe all the JERKS attending the Orange man’s circus in Georgia tonight. Unreal all the lies and crap he was preaching. Jan 20th can’t come soon enough. This guy is way off the charts and getting worse every minute. Crazy.

Rita...good to know Bill is getting stronger. Amazing how much longer it takes to recuperate when we get sick these days.
I’ll get you that recipe in the morning.

LEE: You take care of that cold and if you think it’s anything else you best get tested. Hopefully the VICKS and hot tea, etc will do the trick. Not to mention RESTING too.

Night all folks.

KC: Nice job helping your sisters decorate their homes.
Say a prayer for all of us when you go to church. Be safe while you’re there.

If anything you could always Google Mexican Wedding Cookies.

At least in yesterday's Ohio State win K2.......it was a close one.

(Sorry, I couldn't help myself.) Good to hear Mark's recovery is going well. I too don't see the attraction of collecting expensive guns. Heck, in most cases they just end up in a gun safe or a closet only be looked at maybe once a year.

I sure hope your cold gets better, Lee.

Congratulations on the Gator win, BB. I switched over to that game once the OSU game was over. Pleased to hear that you too are willing to get the Covid vaccine when it becomes available. That has to be a logistical nightmare in getting millions of people vaccinated.

"I am really starting to embrace the "less is more" decorating idea this year." I think almost everybody agrees with you on that KC. Whether inside or outside decorations.

Wonderful hearing from you Rita. And pleased to hear the good news about Bill.

Kathi definitely has a fat lip. And now other bruises are showing up on her face, an arm, side, and leg. We're just thankful that the injuries weren't worse.

Yesterday she dropped off whole bunches of un-iced cut-out cookies at her son's house. (The one with 6 kids.) She also dropped off a bunch of different colored icings so the kids could decorate them.

Today we just are winging it with little "I should do this" projects.

Happy Sunday morning, everyone!

Rita - So glad to hear that Bill is doing better and improving by the day. I'm sure with the weather you are having, that you can't wait to get to Florida. Don't rush too much though, at this point. We're going to be in the 60s for at least the next 4 days. I know to you that would sound wonderful right now, but to us that's just too d*mn chilly! I want mid 70s and up.

Dave - I expected to hear that Kathi is all bruised up. That happened to me one time when I feel. It takes a while for the bruises and pain to set in.

Lee - How's your cold doing today. I hope you're not going out anywhere to walk the dogs. Until your cold is better, just let them out in the yard to get their exercise. Get well soon, my friend.

K2 - I also couldn't believe all those people still attending lil t's "make himself feel like a winner" rally in Georgia. Most of them didn't have masks on and there definitely was no social distancing either. That man is definitely certifiably nuts and getting worse by the day. I understand some of the White House staff are upping anchor and are bailing like rats leaving a sinking ship! Then there's all those senators who are so afraid of lil t that they will not publicly acknowledge that Biden won the election. Shame on them all!!

KC - I still haven't seen you show up at our door to put up our outside decorations. At the rate he's going, we may never get any more lights out there this year.

Not a lot going on around here today. Might just beak down and make a batch of Italian Christmas cookies. They're easy enough to make and you end up with almost 4 dozen of them. Our friends often exchange a plate of cookies for Christmas, so I better get started on making some. I also want to make Bert's mother's recipe for ice box cookies. They are Bert's favorite.

That's about it for me this morning. I need to go order coffee pods this morning as our supply has gotten critically low. LOL Good thing we get the Kona coffee shipped to us and fill our own pods.

Have a wonderful day, gang, and no matter what you have on tap for today, you know what you have to do to stay safe. :)

Hi GANG. Nice chatter on here.
I called my friend Marie, (up 24 Mile Rd) and her daughter is not handling the aftermath of her chemo well at all. And of course, after all this time she's not getting any better. Going to ER to talk with a Oncologist right about now. She is lucky to have a good support group that stays with her overnight and of course her MOM who stays there 4 nights a week. I wanted to make sure she knew that I double baked and will be packaging up the bake goods for her to have for the holidays. She's a big baker too, but I told her I know she doesn't have the time or most likely the get up and go to bake this year. She'll do it anyways, but now she won't have to do as much. They have a huge stand up freezer in their garage so she can keep the stuff I take over in there.
It's sad when you don't know what to say to someone you've know since you were a teenager at times like this. On top of not being well, there is a 13 yr old that has to watch her Mom go through all this. Not easy. She was adopted from a Russian Orphanage when she was just a few months old. Mary and her Mom went to get her together. Okay, enough about that. Thanks for letting me get some of that off my shoulders. Say a prayer for them. Thanks.

Lee: Sure hope you're laying low and taking care of that cold. Don't let it get into your chest. Stand or sit in the shower and let that steam open things up. Rub down with VICKS and get UNDER a pile of covers. Take care.

DAVE: I can just imagine all the bruises Kathi is finding and FEELING today. Amazing she was able to find ICE when we really haven't had much of any kind of snow going on. Of course, the little bit of drizzle can do a lot of damage as Kathi found out.
Big thing I keep telling ART and myself is when you're getting out of the car to make sure you PLANT your feet securely on dry pavement or hold on to the door because if your foot slide from under you it's NOT GOING TO BE GOOD AT ALL at our age or anybody's age for that matter. Tell Kathi I said hello. Nice of her to send over the cookies to the "6" kids. YIKES....hopefully they've STOPPED producing in that family. How do you feed and cloth and find room for 6 kids??

SAN: How's it going over your way. You doing okay? Sure hope so. Hope you and Nancy can get in the car and take a 150 radius drive somewhere. Make a bag lunch and park somewhere where you can overlook the water and eat your lunch or dinner. I ready to do that this week over here by us. It's suppose to be SUNNY all week. It's nice by the water even when it's freezing cold if the SUN IS SHINING!

KC: Glad you got the video of the Kitty climbing the Christmas tree. Too funny. Hope you can just put your feet up and CHILL out a little. You've been one busy gal lately.

RITA: I made the dough for the Mexican Wedding Cookies and it's getting cooled in the refrig. I'll be making those once I get off of this computer. Some for us and some for others.

BB: Get in that kitchen and turn on that oven and get baking girl. You'll be happy once you are able to have cookies ready to exchange or just have around for your family.

I'm going to try and make a few more of those Hot Chocolate BOMBS. I used up the last one last night for myself. It's neat to heat of the milk really hot and then pour it over the BALL in a cup and watch it basically melt and explode with the cocco and marshmallows coming to the surface. A little too sweet for me, but still yummy.

Okay, gang........out of here for now. Be good to each other, stay safe and we'll make it through this Covid crap somehow. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

OK, wife of a Marine, the term is “weighing Anchor”. “Upping Anchor”? You don’t have salt water running through your veins, do you? Your loss.
We used to carry 1,800 Marines on my ship, then dump them on a beach via landing craft and send them on their way. That night we would have steak and lobster for dinner. When we had marines aboard the Marines did all the cooking and it wasn’t what we were used to.

National City was very close to Chula Vista, Dave Really close to the US Navy Base where my ship was based.

Rita, it’s quite a long drive from Sacramento up Interstate 5 to Mount Shasta. Hope she has someone picking her up. Glad Bill is doing well.

Lee, Buckley’s is a familiar name from my past. I will never forget the taste and smell of it. But it worked. We would usually buy some whenever we were in Canada.

Hope Kathi heals quickly.

Hey Karen, what is the workaround for the accelerator module?

Kathie, I think we all know people stuck in senior homes with no visitors for months. trump, if he had cared and done his job, could have prevented a lot of it.

trump continues to lie everyday. The latest is that he won all the swing states. He makes all Republicans look less than smart as they seem to buy into his lies.

Hi again gang. Wow, this has to be the LONGEST SUNDAY in a long time. Busy from the minute I got up and still going strong.

We picked up a new computer tonight at Costco. Well, I PICKED IT UP. Art was more interested in watching the Michigan State Univ Basketball game. No problem. I knew what to get and where it was and it took me all of 10 mins to spend a bundle of money on a Dell Tower computer, a new Monitor and a 1/2 of a Masters Ham and a jar of Pesto. Love Costco's Pesto on pasta! The ham is the is the best boneless ham around. We'll have that and something else for Christmas dinner.

So Mark, e-mailed me and told me I better get the computer because today was the last day of the sale. Now I need to do a MAJOR clean-up of the current computer and all the "STUFF" I don't need to save that's on here before I transfer it to the new unit. I'm in NO HURRY. It can all stay in the boxes until I'm ready. The computer area needs a clean up too. Lots of papers that can stand to get looked through and shredded. Again, not in any hurry.

We're eating late tonight, but hey at least we're EATING. Ha Ha.

Lee: Better get yourself some Buckley's and get better quick.

So on the way home I had the radio on and had a good laugh when I heard that Lawyer Giuliani is in the hospital with Covid. Well, he went to 3 different states (including Michigan) while he was highly Contagious. Should be fun to track down all the people he infected. I won't wish him WELL.....and I won't wish him any harm either. I just wish he and his boss, Orange Man, would go away.

Later gang. Lots of people turned on their Christmas lights on their homes. I'll give it another week! No rush.

Pretty boring day around here, but I got nothing done. I didn't get a good night's sleep last night and my energy level was 0 and went down from there!

Swabby in CA - I grew up at the Jersey Shore every summer and the term we used was "upping the anchor", so put that in your skivvies and sit on it!! LOL

Checking out for tonight. I'd love to go to bed early, but there's a few TV shows I want to watch tonight. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to sleep in tomorrow. Have a good evening, everyone, and I'll see you tomorrow. :)

Good morning Bunnies! 5 more days and you'll have to take another bath.

I'm pretty much just checking in this morning. Pretty much nothing to talk about, because we've pretty much been doing nothing.

Gee K2, I wonder it that black stuff dripping off of Giuliani's head the other day was a symptom of Covid.
