Anybody else notice Kathie posted twice so she could reclaim the top of the page? Hmmm??

Dave, I guess you have to know California to understand the 150 mile restriction.

In Winter time people from the major population areas along the coastal area flock to resort areas in the Sierra for skiing. For us in the Bay Area it would be well over 200 miles. Same with the Los Angeles Area and its ski areas. Los Angeles is 340 miles away from our area and thousands of people do that trek for family. The Oregon Boarder is over 400 miles for us. There’s a lot of space in between all there’s areas. A & A’s cabin is over 350 miles from our families here at home in Gilroy.

Kathie, our snow removal costs for the winter is $0.

Today took all kinds of twists and turns. Never got any more decorations up, unfortunately. By the time Bert came into the kitchen, had a cup of coffee and was ready to get going, we needed to get out. Stopped at Restaurant Depot to pick up to go containers for Missy so she can bring food to work. Next stop was Sam's where Bert picked up some meat - pork chops, chop meat, bottom round and London broil for stew. Oh yeah, he also got a case of wine! :emoticon 0115 inlove:
Last stop was a trip to Publix for some pasta for the coming weeks. They were GOGOs abd sake ended today.
Got home and it was time to repackage the meat. You have no idea how much I wish I had one of those food saver thingies. Instead it all went into Ziplock bags that had to have the air taken out of them by hand. That took quite a while to do it all.

Now I am taking a quick break before I start making dinner for the gang. I just bought an immersion blender and I am going to use it for the first time tonight! I need to blend some stewed tomatoes to make smaller pieces. Wish me luck. I've so wanted one of these things and since I got it over a month ago, I'm scared to use it. Go figure ...

I forgot earlier to mention that last night we finally got to watch Christmas Chronicles 2. I will admit that more than once the story brought a tear or two to my eyes. We both really did enjoy it though. Kirk Russell definitely makes a perfect Santa.

Well, I guess it's time for me to get dinner started. Not sure I'll have a chance to stop back any more tonight. Depends on how late they stay and how much alcohol is consumed (just kidding about that part!). If I don't get back, I'll see you in the morning and if I do get back, I'll bore you with a lot of useless chit chat!! :p Are you feeling lucky? :)

Does ANYBODY ever notice that I never mention who is on the top of a new page. Ya wonder why.........because I really don't care or even bother to notice!! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

SAN: I must say that's a really good price for SNOW REMOVAL over your way! I'd hop on that deal right away. Never know when you might get a SNOW STORM! LOL
(Smart-A_ _)

BB: You might want to show this to BERT and HINT that it would be a nice handy thing to have in the house!! I even looked it up at SAM'S CLUB because that's where you guys go.
By the way this is a VERY GOOD PRICE for this model!! Make sure to scroll down and see the video in this ad!! (Just trying to help you out!!)

Good evening...it was a very cold start to the day here this morning...frost covering the roof tops & the grass...it warmed up to about 58...but the sun was out & the wind wasn't blowing so it was pretty comfortable...

Pat, I have one of those immersion blenders & about the only time I ever used it was to make milk shakes...now I have a mini blender so the other one never see's daylight...

Tony, it really takes a land visit to appreciate just out spread out Cailif is that's for sure...I always knew it was a big state but until I spent the time with you & your family I didn't really realize just HOW big...I think many people get their ideas of Calif. from television...

Kathie....glad to hear Art passed his PSA test with flying colors...will keep Mark;s brother & family in my prayers...
And you would be wrong about me not liking your cool house...I did not turn the furnace on here for the last 2 days during our cold spell...I did turn it on for a while this evening as I was cold...almost feel like I 'm coming down with something...but I'll turn it off before I go to bed...

Lee, as Pat said we Fl residents are pretty much on our own for trying to take any virus precautions..all our gov. cares about is how many brownie points he can rack up the the orange moron...

Dave, hope the grocery pick up went well...when we do the online ordering we've started marking no substitutions....other wise you can end up with some pretty weird items in place of what you ordered...

Taking Barb's car back to the dealer she bought it really isn't an option since it's in St. Pete....she has a Chrysler dealer right across the street from where she lives...but their service dept is not that great...she said today they charge $130 computer fee just to run the diagnostic test...and since the other mechanic didn't get a code I doubt they would either....she's going to try & get our nephew in law to look at it...cause he has the computer tool also...it's just tough to pin him down & get him to show up...
Had a nice visit with Wendy today...bittersweet as it would have been her & Dad's 48th wedding anniversary...she even asked me to stay for lunch...she did sign the paper the lawyer had sent...I had no real reason to think she wouldn't...but when money & step siblings are involved nothing is ever a sure thing...now I just have to hope the Ohio lawyer doesn't bounce it back because she signed using her middle initial instead of her full middle name like they had it typed....always something!

I was going to go to Barb's tomorrow & help her decorate for Christmas, but she said tonite she really wasn't in the mood for it...so I said fine...I'd just as soon stay home & relax for a change myself...and with that I think I am going to go get comfy and do just that!! Night from "frosty" Belleview!!

After trying it, I approve of ordering our groceries on line, paying for them on line, and just pulling up to the entrance where they load them in the back of our car. Worked like a charm, and we plan on doing it that way for the foreseeable future. Just opening those cooler doors has always made me wonder how many germs I was getting on my hands.

And they said on the news last night that the risk of getting Covid is at a historical high. Heck, our county morgue had to bring in a refrigerated trailer to hold all the bodies that are piling up.

I'll tell you one thing about ordering your groceries on line; It sure cuts down on impulse buying.

Like you said Lee, when there were fewer cases of Covid in the spring than now, people were taking it a whole lot more seriously

Oh, here's a hoot. My Virginia daughter sent our fur babies a Christmas package she said to open on the 1st of December. Each pooch was sent an advent calendar for dogs. So each day this month we open a different compartment and they get a treat.

Oh go ahead BB and spend a hundred bucks on a vacuum Food Saver. Gift it to yourself on Christmas. That's the brand we have too.

Pleased to hear that Wendy signed off as your Dad wanted her too. You're so right that when money is involved, some people turn into someone you don't know.

You forget San that I lived in California for 4 years.

I like your idea of putting balloons on your Biden sign, K2. A big red bow would be cool too.

Sunny here all day yesterday although the temperature never got much more than 2 degrees above freezing. With that bright light bouncing off of the snow you needed sunglasses.

Good morning Wrabbits! 29F here and hopefully rising! Brrr

Nice to know Wendy signed off on the house. Hopefully, after all is said and done and the brother buys you girls out you ALL end up with a few bucks. At this point I’m sure you’ll be overjoyed when this is over and done with. You’ve done a fantastic job handling all the paperwork and issues. Kudos!

Dave: Good to know the ONLINE shopping worked. I really need to sit down and figure out how to navigate the Kroger app. Can you save a list so you don’t have to start from scratch each time?
Nice of your daughter to send the pups a treat calendar

Unreal how bad this pandemic is right now. And the records are only going to get worst when the THANKSGIVING numbers kick in! Lord help us all.

Made a batch of Almond Cranberry Biscotti’s last night. They’ll last forever in a airtight tin! Nice give aways.

I bought some PEZ CANDY gizmos for a friends 5 little grandsons. They are the cutest kids and who doesn’t like a PEZ character. I even bought them each a refill pack.
Our Choir is going to have a Zoom Christmas party this year. We will have a Christmas tree contest and we’re told to dress up and have drinks handy! I have to give credit to our choir board for all they do to keep us all together during these trying times.

Lee: Did you read about the freighter that went “aground” down in Gross Ile? It has jammed up the freighter traffic. big time. Once it gets I jammed you should be able to see LOTS of freighter traffics coming through.
STAY WARM walking hose pups today! Brrr

We should get a Oder of Coffee Beans delivered some time today. It ‘s from a small coffee roasting company in Charlevoix. MICH. Jill bought us a bag when they were up there and it was a nice Nutty good tasting coffee bean. Trying my best to support the small coffee roaster companies!

Stay warm folks. Wear those masks. Things are spiking big time!

Hello folks.
After walking the pups we went up to the big (empty) mall in Windsor. First time I’d been there since we moved here. I came away a little sad. Lots of empty or closed stores. Clerks and shoppers alike wearing masks so you couldn’t see that joy or frustration on their faces as they found or looked for the perfect gift. Bah Humbug.
We noticed the freighter in the channel yesterday morning Kathie. Quite a lot of action around it today with helicopters and tug boats trying to get her off the bottom. I just hope the captain didn’t used to be with Costa Cruise Lines.

They’ll last forever in a airtight tin!
Does that mean that you’ll still have some if and when the border opens up?
Knowing how little these car dealers speak or work with each other I guess the selling dealer wouldn’t touch base with the close dealer for the diagnosis on Jane’s van Karen. Pretty nice that Wendy signed off on the documents.
I’m glad that you waited in the car for Bert this time out Pat. I’m equally concerned that Bert has to venture into the stores. Especially as things continue to spiral in the wrong direction. Just think though. For all of the decorations that you might not get put up you’ll save time not having to put them away.
As long as they do a good job with the order ahead groceries Dave people will continue to use their service. We found that you had to be ultra specific when ordering or they would toss in the generic store brands. I’ve seen those doggie advent calendars.
I often think that people don’t realize the size of some US states (and Canadian provinces) Tony. It’s 514 miles just to drive east / west on highway 401 across Ontario from Quebec to the border in Windsor.
How is our patient doing today Bill?
The sun is tucking behind the clouds now. It had been a bright day with temps around 45F. Most of the snow has gone. Which makes me wonder why Mother Nature dropped it on us in the first place.
Hoping as always that each and every one of you stays safe and healthy.

Lee, 788 miles from Mexican Border to Oregon Border.

Gavin Newsom has put some very tough restrictions on Californians this afternoon.

Kathie, the wildfire is in Santa Ana 350 miles from us. Santa Ana Winds really do a number on wild fires. We don’t have Santa Ana’s, but high winds were a factor in our Northern California fires.

One site says it’s 52 miles from Macomb to Amherstburg and another says it’s 42 miles. And another 35.4 miles. 1 hr 15 mins.

Map from Macomb St, Grosse Ile Township, MI 48138 to Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada
1 hr 15 min (35.4 mi)

Worked making a batch of Nit Rolls this afternoon. Just put them in the oven t back after they were rising for over a hour! Hope theynturn out good after all my BACK BREAKING work!
Lee: I promise I’ll bake you fresh Biscotti once the border opens up!

Time to look over the mail. We got the Winter TAX bill today. Joy, joy! I should send it to Trump. He most likely would just toss it! Ha ha.

Our Mark has to be at the hospital at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow for a 7:00 am surgery. At least he’ll be 1st up. Never easy knowing a family member is going for surgery.

Nite gang.

TGIF guys!

We lived in Chula Vista California, San. A suburb of San Diego. From there we traveled all over the state. (With a few side trips to Las Vegas.

) This is back in the early 70s when we had those big gas shortages. Back then they'd look in your car to make sure your gas gauge was below 1/4 before they'd sell you gas.

In answer to your question K2 about making a grocery list on the store's site; Yes, you can start your shopping list and every day go back to it to add or subtract. It's not till you submit it does it become official. And I do like it because you can get very specific about what you want. And also specify that you don't want any substitutions.

We were going to give the larger grocery store that we frequent a try at pick-up next week, but we were surprised to find out that they don't offer curbside pick-up. So we're going to see how Walley-World does next week at curbside pick-up.

You sure got me guessing as to what was in those Santa bags K2. At first they looked like loaves of bread. So I went back and read again every thing you said. Those are those Pez dispensers and candy that you mentioned, right?

Wishing Mark a successful surgery this morning.

Oh goody.......We now don't have NBC's network programing on our TV service. It won't be back until they quit squabbling over money and fees. Which wipes out the local NBC channel in Cleveland too. At least we still get MSNBC so I can still watch Rachel Maddow.

Not much planned for today. Breakfast is hot & spicey chili, cole slaw, slices of an apple, grapes, orange pieces, some baby carrots, all washed down with some moo.

Good Morning Wrabbits! Dang it was chilly when I got up to go to the kitchen and get a cup of coffee. As I passed by the thermostat it said 68F. Yup that would make it chilly! I jacked it down while I was baking those NUT Rolls in the kitchen last evening!
No word on Mark yet. It’s outpatient surgery, so he will most likely spend half a day in his cubicle and then get sent home. These days the SOONER THE BETTER with that Virus all over the place.

Today I will make the Mexican Wedding Cookies. White round puff balls of Pecans in a butter dough and rolled in Powdered Sugar! They melt in your mouth! And can be made weeks before you need them.

Today I will be calling my brother and sister-in-law and telling them that for the first time in what seems like a LIFE TIME we will NOT have the big Christmas celebration at our house. The open house for friends is cancelled too. I feel really bad about all this, but we have to be diligent and we can always have “Christmas in July” if things are better by then. Zoom meeting will have to do for us to see each on Christmas Day.

FYI: John Lennon passed away 40 yrs ago. Wow.

Dave: Bummer on losing that TV Station. By the way there is a HUGE Fire at the TOLEDO BEACH MARINA going on right now. (8:15 am) CAN YOU SEE THE SMOKE over your way. They have a helicopter showing LIVE shots on our local TV. I see a lot of BOATERS getting some bad news this morning about their boats going up n SMOKE!

Be safe folks and enjoy your day.

FYI:
Just got a report from Jill and the doctor came out and showed her a VIDEO of what he did to Mark’s HIP Tendon. Wow....now how cool is that. She said they should be going home in 2 hours if all goes well in the “recovery area”!

Later gang.

Good morning! Not too sure what our weather is going to be today. There's a bit of rain in the area right now, but the sun should come out after lunch with rain again returning this evening. I'll be curious to see if we manage to make it to 75 today like they're callinng for.

K2 - Glad to hear that Mark's surgery went well and that he will be going home shortly. That's how our friend's hip replacement went too and she was home by afternoon. She's still walking very slowly and is trying to do it without using a cane. She's 3 weeks out after surgery.
With all that baking, you're starting to inspire me to break out the recipes for a few new cookies I want to make in the next few days.

Dave - Sorry you lost your local NBC due to a squabble with the cable company. Sam thing happened to us, except we lost ABC at least 4 months ago. Both sides are engaged in a pi$$ing contest with no one giving anything. Good thing we don't watch many shows on ABC, but I would have liked to check out their new line up for the Fall.
I see a lot of people using the Wally World pickup these days. I don't blame them, as there's no way I'd go in that store right now. Heck, I hated to go in the long before the virus came to town.

We managed to get some of the Christmas stuff out yesterday and I still have 2 more totes to empty. I told Bert to not even bother getting out some of the stuff, as hardly anyone will see it. Bert was fine with that. Biggest problem I'm having is that every few minutes I have to sit down and use the oxygen. What a pain!!

We're having an early dinner at the Grille tonight with our friends from down the block. She's the one with the hip replacement I mentioned above. I'm curious to hear how they feel about getting the vaccine when it becomes available, as they both were in the medical profession. Of course, I'll probably get his usual spin on the virus (more people die of the flu), as they are totally red in their house. He listens to Fox business news all day long, as he deals in stock and trades. That's how he makes his money. Must be pretty good at it to afford that new Vette and a beautiful new pontoon boat, along with all the other toys they have. He tells everyone he was a poor doctor. HA! We should all be so poor!!! :D

You know what it's like when you have to do something, but you dread starting it? Well, that's what I'm facing. In amongst all the stuff Gary had tucked away were 3 Christmas stockings that were made by Bert's mother. They're the type made of felt with different parts sewn together and with beads and sequins. He brought them over the other day and he wants me to put Elaine's name and her boys' names on them. I always wrote out the names for Bert's mother and she would sew the names on. Trouble is that my handwriting just isn't what it used to be and I have to do these with glitter glue. If I screw up anything, there's no do over. It takes a couple of days for the glue to dry, so I really need to get this job done. Wish me luck!

Time to get into another tote and see what's there. I'll be back later to check in with all you nice people. Have a great day, stay safe, and behave yourself!!;)

Good afternoon all!

Kathie, glad to hear that Mark's surgery went well...you sure are on a baking kick in spite of not having visitors this year...so far I've made a batch of christmas cut out cookies...but haven't iced or decorated them yet...waiting to see if my sister's want to come help or not...

Dave, bummer about the cable company having a feud with NBC....even though it isn't a channel I watch I'd be ticked at paying for something that I wasn't able to watch...your breakfast sounded kind of tame this morning with all that fruit...you feeling ok?

Pat, good luck with the stocking names....there is no way I would be able to do something like that...I put the cat's names on their stockings and it looks like a kindergarten kid did them...heck the kid could probably have done them better!

Lee, yeah....car dealers don't have much "community spirit" these days...but the good news (kinda) is our nephew in law stopped by yesterday & looked at it & told Barb that it's the accelarator sensor....and if he can't fix it, he is sure his uncle can...he also showed her a way to over ride it & be able to drive it...not sure she will risk it or not...

Tony, I was reading about some of the restriction on you all out there...they are pretty tough...but hopefully it will slow the spread for everyone...unlike our bozo...

Well...so much for a do nothing day yesterday...Barb decided she wanted her placed decorated after all...so I went over & put up her outside lights...and got her tree out of the closet & into the living room...it's a small 30" tree or so...and already decorated...then she wanted to go to the grocery store...thank goodness I had a book in the truck to read...we went to walmart & it was packed...she was in there for over an hour!! Today though I did get to stay home & just chill...watched the Christmas chronicals on Netfix...and will watch part 2 later on....have to meet a lady this evening to drop off my Angel Tree stuff...then I'm pretty much ready for Christmas except for any baking I do....now I need to figure out some lunch...have a safe day all!!

Hi gang.

KC: I am baking a lot, but I will be giving my friend who’s daughter has the cancer some of each thing I am baking. I know with her going cross town to be with her daughter and 13 yr old Granddaughter 4 days every week she’s going to be hard pressed to bake very much. Then there’s 98 yr oldNICK that needs to get some cookies and my brother. So that’s why I’m baking all the time.
And I have to bake when I’m in the mood. Hanha.

Tomorrow I have one LAST dental cleaning appt at 11:00 am. They have Saturday appts once a month.

KC: I need you to come and decorate my house! I’m doing VERY LITTLE this year. I just called my brother and told him NO BIG FAMILY Christmas this year. He agreed doing a ZOOM Meeting. We’ll do Christmas in JULY, if everything is better by then, at the Big Park!

I have one of those Facial Masks on me right now. Scary! I just wanted to moisturize my face. I put some saran wrap pieces over the mask to keep the nice wet solution from drying out!

Okay...how are the rest of you Wrabbits doing today?

BB: Dn’t over due it decorating. Keep that oxygen on.

I am finally finished putting up the decorations in the house!! Doesn't look too bad, considering how much I didn't get out. For us this year, this is plenty.

Almost time to head for the Grille for dinner. Like I said earlier, this is pretty early for us to eat, but that's what this couple like to do. I also invited another friend & her unmarried daughter. Chatting with her earlier in the day, she was having a very blah type day missing family up north and not seeing them this year. They also know the other couple and we have all been known to spend a lot of time together in the past, so it should be fun getting together tonight for dinner and a glass or two of wine.

Better finish getting ready to go out, but I wanted to remind those of you who might be interested, Blue Bloods returns tonight! It's been a really long dry spell. Can't wait to see how they handle COVID-19 and how they might work it into the story.

Might not make it back here tonight, so I'll check out now and will see you in the morning. Have a good night, gang! :)
