Lee: Good to know you got Costco shopping out of the way. Ours is not worth going to right now. No paper towels, Toilet Paper, tissue paper, very little water. By now they probably have NO WATER. I really don’t think I need anything from Costco for awhile.

KC: Whew, so glad Barb didn’t have to pay that $1100 repair. $350 was bad enough. Hope it does the trick for a long time.
So good to know the Ohio House and paper work is almost over with. You’ll have to celebrate with a big FAVORITE DRINK once this is all done! Too bad this Vovid-19 has to be around or you could have celebrated with a CRUISE!

BB: How has Cappi been today? We use to use the Bitter Apple when we had the Wrabbit that lived in the basement and loved to chew the storage boxes. It helped a lot.

That’s it for tonight!
Tomorrow starts our WARM UP for the rest of the week.
I’d like to do a drive to the water. Might get to see some freighters. I feel house bound.
We can pack a box lunch and just drive!!

FYI: Hey, I know a few of you are going to just are LOVE this story.

I went to the car wash around 3:30 pm. Tuesday you save $3 bucks on a car wash. Anyways, I pay for a slight upgrade and proceed to the entrance. As soon as I get inside and the guy screams out “put it in Neutral”! Okay. Then I go to shut down the AUTO-HOLD button so my wheels are not locked as I go though he car wash. Well, it wouldn’t unlock. Crap. They shut down the entire car wash. 2 times. The guy tells me not to worry. Ha ha. All I see is a line of cars behind me. We try a few more things and the wheels are still locked. Then the “BACKWARD DRIVE IF SHAME”. They get 2 of the cars to back up and then have me back up! How embarrassing. Okay ALL the GUYS on here can now laugh! I called the Lincoln dealers service door and the nice guy goes through the buttons, etc with me. Told me it might re-set itself if I just leave it shut off for a hour at home. Long story short...after a hour I went outside and it was all GOOD AGAIN! Whew.
Always something!

Thank you all for your input today. Cappi is still part of the family and no decisions have been made. I've been checking our possibilities of what to do and will continue tomorrow.
Saying good night for now. Already had another hot buttered rum and now I'm ready to relax. See you tomorrow. :)

Up front, before I forget about it, if I come up missing on here it's because the computer crashed. It's been acting up the last few days. Kathi and her computer-geek son are trying figure out what the problem is.

As far as Kathi's cancelled hair appointment; Her hairdresser has gotten some medical waiver saying that she doesn't have to wear a mask. Maybe fine when Covid was rare around here and Kathi wore a mask, but not now when our county is at the highest rate of virus spread.

I see that you too are wanting to return to your "NATURAL" color, K2.
1f914.png

WAY too many electronic gizmos go into today's cars causing problems for the simple operation of a car, when these systems foal out. (Ask Barb.)

Speaking of Kathi; Her aches a pains from her fall continue to show up. Her lip is still swollen, but now she's developing 2 black and blue eyes, and her teeth are hurting. Today she'll be setting up an appointment with the dentist to see if there's something more than just bruising.

BB; I like KC's and Lee's ideas to solve Cappi's chewing problem.

Happy to hear that Barb's car is fixed. (Crossing fingers.)

So much for picking up our groceries curbside at Wally-World today. Their next available pick-up time is Saturday afternoon. It seems that the scary rate of virus infections has lots of people just wanting their groceries picked up or delivered. So we're picking them up at our smaller grocery store this morning. It's odd that the smaller store had more items of things we wanted than did the massive grocery store at Wally-World.

Happy to see the Brits getting the Covid vaccine yesterday. We and they do speak the same language, but they sure have some odd names that they call things. Like what they call an elevator, a truck, or the bathroom. Now we soon will be getting a "shot" with the vaccine. But the Brits don't call it that.......They call it a "jab".

See how educational the Bunny Board is?

Good morning, everyone! I'm still working on the Cappi issue and haven't decided anything yet.

Not a lot happening here today and nothing else really to talk about, so I'm out of here for now. :)

Another afternoon is upon us leaving me to wonder "Where the heck has the first part of the day gone?"
The young fella from the builders was coming by this morning to paint the "man door" in the garage. I questioned it from the get go because it's just too cold for the paint to adhere properly. A problem I think you had Dave with Bud's place. Anyway, Kyle showed up as scheduled and he agreed so it will be done in the spring. I'm waiting now on the guy from the lighting store to look at the hood fan as one of the illuminated buttons doesn't illuminate. As Kathie says, "There's always something..."
Dave, I don't blame Kathi for cancelling one little bit. How in the name of he77 can you operate a salon and get a "pass" on wearing a mask? I think that you'd want one to help filter out all of the sprays and stuff they use on women's hair! After I get my jab I think that I'll take the lift to the lorry and drive to the loo. Put that into Google translate!
Our Costco is well stocked with everything except Lysol wipes Kathie. Lots of water, bum wad and paper towels. We did notice that prices have gone stupid! It used to be that things went up a half a buck or a buck at a time. Lots of stuff has gone up $2 since we were there last. How frustrating that the drive system let you down in the car wash yesterday. It's always good to keep a wig and "Groucho Marx" glasses with the moustache attached for situations like that! I've got pretty funny stories from Wendell Motors when new models would come out and some of the guys would be stymied something as simple as releasing the fuel filler flap or not noticing the big knob on the dash that was the gear selector!
Good to hear that Jane's van is back and running like a top Karen. If it's a known problem and the van is recalled Jane should be able to get reimbursed for the cost of fixing the problem. Nice to know that things are progressing smoothly with your Dad's estate.
Good to take some time in deciding what to do with Cappi Pat. How old is he?
Just an observation about t. Do you think he is looking at a map of The United States reflecting the number of coronavirus cases and can't figure out that with most of the US in red why he didn't win the election?
Be good, smile and stay safe my friends!

I am exhausted!! Baking and cooking most of the day with some new recipes used that turned out great. :chef: The new recipes were for Iced Italian Christmas Cookies. I used anise extract in them and they are so good. We put them away so the other crew won't find them!! Also made a creamy parm tomato soup with tortellini and baby spinach. Delicious and definitely on the spicy side. That's dinner tonight which I am ready to put on the table.

Time for a glass of wine with dinner and then I'll be ready to get comfy and relax. I will see you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful night and sleep well.:sleep002:

Pat, I thought you were smarter than you appear on here. You are overthinking your Cappi problem. There is a very simple, humane solution you should follow.

Stuff Cappi in the trunk of your car and drive north to Bellview. Keeping him in the trunk prevents him from finding his way back.

when you get to Bellview, use your remote to open the trunk. After all those miles in the dark trunk he will be freaked out and run away.

The good part is there is a nice lady that used to live in Ocala but moved to Bellview. She is well known for taking in stray cats that have been cruelly dumped by their owners. They will find each other.

There, problem solved. You’re Welcome.

Wow....where did WEDNESDAY disappear to??
Nice chatter on here today.

DAVE: I bet it would be safer and quicker to just put on 2 MASKS and go inside your grocery store as soon as it opens and run through the aisles and get your groceries and get out. With everyone ORDERING and DOING CURB PICK-UP'S the place should be empty.
Sure do hope that Kathi didn't dislodge any of her teeth when she fell. The eye thing will take care of itself in a few days. Goes from purple to green to yellow! o_O
Hope the computer shapes up and doesn't add to Kathi's troubles.

Our new computer is still in the hallway in the BOXES. Just NO TIME to clean up this old one and transfer files to a SanDisk and then set up the new one. It can wait.

At our hair salon EVERYBODY wears a MASK. They work around the cords around your ears and it hasn't been a problem. The owner installed some kind of extra filter in the furnace system to draw out "bad stuff" for lack of a better explanation. Since my hair got cut WAY TOO SHORT 6 weeks ago I am not going to get it cut again when I go in for my appointment. Less time inside the place is just fine with me! I wear my N95 mask when I go there and hope for the best.

SAN: Nice suggestions for BB to transfer Cappi to KC's neighborhood. I just don't think it will work though.
BB: Your cookies and dinner sound yummy.
I'm going to make some
Italian Pizzelles
Pizzelle's tomorrow. Since I'm not a fan of Anise flavor I will be making Lemon/Vanilla ones. I like that they last forever. I'll make extra and PKG them up to take over to my brother's (driveway drop-off) with the other things I need to get to him before Christmas. 98 yr old Nick will get some too. He likes them.

Lee: Good idea waiting on painting the front door. I don't think the door will mind waiting at all.
I think we have enough BUM Paper to last us through February for sure. I think it's horrible that they RAISE the price of necessary items like that. I really feel bad if somebody didn't think to stock up a little when things were around in late Sept.

Today I put a few miles on my car and some HAPPY SMILES on peoples faces by delivering Baked Goods and some other items to a few friends and family. I called from the driveway's and had my mask on and just handed off things. Jill's Godfather actually came out to the middle of the driveway with his Mask on and I handed off his stuff to him very safely.
Got to see Eric when I went over to drop off some things Jill needed. She was at work, Mark was on a Business Call, Ashley is still up at college so I really didn't inter-act with them. Didn't even get to see MARK. He's still on crutches for at least 2 more weeks so he wouldn't be hopping down the stairs to come and see me anyways. He works from a upstairs office.

Got home before the RUSH HOUR traffic. I passed by the Costco that you can see off of I-75 freeway and it's hard to believe how many CARS were in the parking lot. Seems almost crazy that you can pack that many people into a BOX STORE and not have restaurants open. Just glad I don't need anything from there.
I have a few gifts that I managed to buy early in the Fall and MONEY will make up for anything I'm not willing to go into a store to get. I'm not a BIG TIME ONLINE SHOPPER.

Out of here for now. You all have a good Thursday.
If the weather turns out like the weather people are predicting we might see the Northern Lights in the sky tomorrow night and Friday night. Just hope the clouds go away. 45-49F is not bad for this time of the year. What is bad is that we'll get lack and then the SNOW and WIND and 25-30F temps will show up.

Nite from Macomb.

You speak like a true Englishman, Lee. And all the changed switches and gizmos on new cars can drive a buyer or renter nuts. When they started with us having to put a foot on the brake to put it in gear, I almost didn't make it out of the lot with a new car.

An interesting solution you have there for Cappi ,San. I wonder if it would work on people too.

Question for you BB. With all the cooking and baking you do, do you have a stool to sit on while you do it? I know that standing in one spot kills my back and legs.

Like you K2 I'm not a fan of anis. Those lemon pizzelles sound mighty good. Don't envy you setting up that new computer. But a full sized keyboard will be very nice for you.

Kathi woke up feeling much better yesterday morning. Swelling is down and her front teeth teeth mostly were pain free. So she held off on a dentist visit, unless it flares up again.

Our Vet's office is back in business so Fuzzbutt is going in this morning to get some routine shots. Needed to watch her like a hawk yesterday to make sure I'd get a stool sample. Luckily Kathi finally spotted her doing her thing. After it was collected and stored in the frig overnight, the rule was...."Don't eat the sausage link."
1f601.png

Kathi is now in the process of recording 2 Hallmark books of "The Night Before Christmas" for other grandkids. It's her turn to read a whole page, and then mispronounce a word in the last sentence, and have to record it all over again.

Good morning all you nice people on Santa's good list!

San - Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm afraid if the Belleview cat lady took Cappi in, she would never speak to me again! He's been behaving the past day or two, so if he plays his cards right, he might stay around a bit longer. Bert was also able to repair that line to the talking dog. I'll have to take a picture of him, post it on FB and hope K2 can post it on here. This dog is about 30 inches tall!!!

Dave - Glad to hear Kathi's teeth are not hurting. Hopefully that was just a temporary side effect of her fall.
Yes, I definitely use a seat when working in the kitchen. There is no way I could stand that long on these tile floors. Heck, I can't stand for long anywhere without sitting or my back will be killing me. That's been happening since Gary was a baby and I stood too long holding in shortly after he was born. When I went to bend over to put him in his car seat, my back locked up and I couldn't bend over. Since then I've had a bad back. That's going on 50 years now!

K2 - Your beauty parlor is really doing a good job keeping the virus at bay. I just take the easy way out - I cut my own hair!! No one sees it, so who cares. I used to do that all the time when the kids were little. I also used to give myself a home perm. Remember them? I had a beautician living next door to us and she told me I can roll hair better than she could. I believe it. She was terrible!
You reminded me about making pizzeles. I had forgotten about making them. Except I make it with both Anise seeds and extract. Bert's mother always made Anise flavored ones and as soon as it came out of the maker, you rolled in in a cone shape. She always had someone (usually me) doing the rolling while she started the next one. I just leave them flat now as I can't do both quickly enough. Everyone loves them anyway and I can sit on my seat at the kitchen counter to do them. Win/win all around.

What's on tap around here today, you might ask? First off a trip to Publix for Bert to pick up the rest of the stuff I need to make chicken cacciatore for dinner tonight for when the gang comes over. Not sure if I'll have a chance to bake anything today, but I might make the dough and then just have to slice & bake tomorrow. Seeing as how it's almost noontime, I better get it in gear before I waste the whole day!

Have a wonderful day, everyone. Stay safe and don't work too hard!! :)

Stay safe and don't work too hard!!
Most of us are retired Pat. We work harder now than we did when we were at "work"!
Good afternoon friends.

An absolutely stunning day here. Sun is out and the temp is sneaking above 50F. On our walk down by the river this morning we bumped in to Doug, Brenda and Peachy. The silence was broken only by the sound of someone cutting their grass!! On December 10 in Ontario.
Happy to hear that Bert was able to repair all of the lines and wires. I hope you added some "Frank's Hot Sauce" to the Publix order to put on those same lines and wires. Rolling your pizzelles is how you roll sugar cones in an ice cream shop. They come out of the press and go straight on to the roller. I used to do that for Danna's afternoon ice cream customers when I did the morning coffee shop thing.
Always a "bummer" having to catch the right dog's sample Dave. I can say that from experience. It's good to hear that Kathi seems to be feeling a little better today. No point going to the dentist if you don't have to. The first time I drove a Chrysler 600 for Wendell's I hated it! There were so many bells, whistles, warning lights and automatic braking I felt like the car was driving me!
You make such a good point about the number of people in the box stores and the little restauranteur is forced to close up or go to curb side pickup only Kathie. Did you put a red nose and antlers on your "sleigh" to make those deliveries? Good for you brightening people's day. I bet Tony will agree when I say you should have bought a Mac. Take it out of the box, plug it in and it's ready to go. You can hold off sending me cash for Christmas. The US dollar is low now against the Canadian dollar so I wouldn't get as much with the exchange. ;)
I loved your idea about rehoming Cappi Tony. I think that Lu-Ann tried that with me a couple of times but I always seemed to find my way home. I do recall going to, I think it was called, The 5 Drive In in Oakville when I was in high school. You always had somebody in the trunk to save the couple of bucks it cost to get in back in the day!
As always a couple of things to tend to before the light of day disappears.
You all have a fantastic day and stay safe.

Lee, I love all the technology on our vehicles. My truck saved my butt from rear ending someone on Interstate 80 when I was not paying attention. It has heads up display, a video inside rear view mirror that eliminates the blocked view from the rear head rests. Vibrating driver seat if the truck goes over the fog line, then gently corrects for it. Surround vision to help parking by showing everything around the truck.
Then there is all the other technology things we now take for granted.

Bet the Lincoln has a lot of technology, Kathie.

Dave, glad that Kathi is doing better.

Wow, San - All those gizmos that things can go wrong with! My old bunny caddy just chugs along the old fashion way ... keep your eyes on the road and think before you do anything stupid!!

LLee - I've watched those waffle cones being rolled before. But they at least had a form to roll around. I used to do that free hand. We didn't stuff them with anything very often. They weren't that big. Once in a whole we would put whipped cream in them, but that was about it. Too fragile for ice cream.

Time to put the finishing touches on dinner. I used a new recipe for the sauce (and yes, this is now a sauce!) so we will see if I ever make it this way again. Way too much work is all I'm thinking right now! :)

Good evening...well...I knew it was only a matter of time before "Somebody" came up with that harebrained idea on how to rehome Cappi....nice try Tony...but I'm already 1 cat over the limit here...

Pat, your dinner sounds really good...I haven't had chicken cacciatore in years...my girlfriend used to make it & it was soooo good...not worth the trouble now for just me...

Dave, glad to hear Kathi is feeling better & was able to avoid a trip to the dentist...you think following a dog around for a stool sample is fun...try getting one when you have multiple cats....all using 1 litter box...

Kathie, you really were Santa's little helper yesterday....and I'm sure everyone was happy to get all those tasty goodies!

Lee, good to hear you are getting a bit of a break with the weather....how's the cold doing?

Not a heck of a lot going on around here....I ended up having to go Christmas shopping yesterday after finding out the "poolies" are having our Christmas party next Thurs....what started out as a simple get together for lunch has turned into presents being passed out by everyone....I like presents as much as the next person...but most of us in here don't need a dang thing...and if we want something we buy it...and a couple other folks live in a small villa & don't have room for a lot of "stuff"....I usually make a snack mix or something...but that looks kind of cheap when other people are handing out store bought gifts...anyhow...I hate last minute shopping...I never feel like I bought the right thing...
I did manage to get my cut out Christmas cookies iced today...I had baked them & froze them back in Oct. while I was in self time out... think I might make a batch of pumpkin bread & call it done....now I need to figure out what to fix for dinner...I had a late brunch & am not all that hungry....but if I don't eat I will be hungry at bedtime...and that's not good....later gang!

OK “Rabbit Brain”, (figure that one out), How did you know that I was referring to you, Karen?

Pat, you better hold onto that Cadillac of yours because any new replacement is going to come with a lot of technology. Some of it is just lurking in the back ground waiting for someone to screw up....like other drivers or pedestrians.

Hi gang. Nice chatter on here today.
I did a little bit of NOTHING today. Went through recipes and then straightened out some of those folders I keep for each doctor we go to. Some were getting overloaded.

KC: Good job icing the cookies. And what did you end up buying for the Poolies exchange gift? I think it’s nice that you’re having a Christmas Party. Just be very careful to keep your distance.
Our choir is have a Virtual Christmas Party. I heard about some of the things that are planned and it should be neat. Different for sure!!

BB: Nice of you to give Cappi another chance. And that dinner did sound good.

Dave: I think my one upper Wisdom tooth is feeling sorry for your Kathi and is giving me a slight JOLT when I eat something harder on that side. I’ll be calling the dentist tomorrow and making a appt for his next opening. I see a Root Canal in my future.
For now I eat on the right side. Bummer.

SAN: The new Lincoln has about all the cool stuff the MKZ had. The first time the loud and flashing lights went out when I didn’t BRAKE soon enough to keep the car happy I almost freaked out. It’s a nice feature. The vibrating steering wheel goes off if you cross over the white or yellow lines. You can set it for soft, medium or a little more. It also sends a audio signal if you go over the white line too many times. It tells you “ TIME FOR A COFFEE BREAK”! I laughed the first tIme that happened. All in all they’re all good things.
Negc: How you doing over your way? Give us a heads up buddy. We like to keep the HUTCH HEALTH cases up to date.

Lee: No RED NOSE or Antlers yesterday while delivering goodies. I did get a lot of thank you’s! Ha ha.

Out of here for now.

Hot Damn, it looks like the Covid vaccine is a coming! Now we have to NOT start acting like it's already here.

It was good to see Doctor Fauci on TV reassuring little kids that it's safe to have Santa in your house. He can't get or give Covid 19. No joke, he really did.

Having a dog or cat is nothing but making payments. Yesterday Fuzzbutt's Vet visit was over $200. And come January, another $400+ for a cleaning. It seems her breed is notorious for soft teeth.

Kathi goes back to the Stat-Care place and have the stitches in her lip taken out this morning. Yesterday it was noticeably less swollen.

She too is into baking. Yesterday she made some soft, chewy, yummy lemon cookies.

Recently she got 3 small sized, what looks like ice cream scoops. They even have that lever to get the cookie dough out of them. Sure beats trying to do it by hand and trying to make them all the same size.

Well that's it for me this morning.

OK I'm back. You all sure didn't have much to say while I was gone!

Visit with the doctor lasted about 5 minutes. Time before I saw him was about an hour. I hate just sitting there. They have some system in place right now. Office is locked when you arrive. A gal comes outside to confirm you have an appointment, takes your temp, and asks all the new normal type questions before she lets you into the building. Then she tells you where to sit in the waiting room, keeping everyone socially distant from each other. Once someone gets called in to the back, she takes Clorox wipes and goes over the seat they were sitting on and the one on each side. Very careful with everything.
I did end up being put on an antibiotic when I told the doctor that I'm getting some mucus and using the oxygen more. Also got a month and a half's supply of my pricy meds. I love when they do that!

I told Bert that for dragging him along on this adventure, in a little while I'll treat him to lunch at the Grille. I didn't hear him say no, so I guess we're good.

Our dinner last night was really delicious, but once again I got carried away and made too much. G&E graciously volunteered to come back with their gang again tonight to finish off the leftovers. In exchange, they are bringing dessert. Fair enough, as far as I'm concerned. The bonus is that Elaine will do the dishes!!

KC - Trust me, you wouldn't want Cappi either. He'd do nothing but hiss and growl at your babies. He likes to rule the place and does not like other animals. Contrary to what that smart a$$ in CA said, I would never do that to a friend.

Dave - Glad Kathi gets her stitches out today. So when's the next time she's going to be taking those grandkids out again?
Ya gotta love Dr. Fauci! That was a great thing he said to make kids rest easy about Santa coming into their houses. These poor kids don't know what's going on and get terrified when they head so much about the virus.

Did you see where Time magazine names Biden & Harris person of the year? I kind of have mixed feelings on that. On one side I believe they're going to turn around and make good all the stuff lil t has been destroying, but on the other hand, I really think they should have named Healthcare Workers as people of the year for what they've had to handle and continue to handle this year. What do you think?

Anyone watch that show last night featuring songs from Broadway plays, both current and from the past? If you get a chance, watch it. It really was good.

On that note and because I'm getting hungry, I'm out of here for now. Have a wonderful day, everyone. Stay safe and find something fun to do. You deserve it!! :)

Well Pat, at least I am partly smart and a step up from you.

Kathie, that is funnny that the Lincoln tells you to get coffee when you are drifty. Hope the Nav system routes you to the nearest Starbucks. When I get drifting over the line it just calls me a dumb ass. Hmmm, it comes from the right side speakers and the voice sounds like Nancy’s.
