I'll just whisper this good morning to you. I hope I didn't wake anyone up as I got ready to tiptoe out of the hutch. Have a great couple of days and I'll see you once I get sprung from the hospital. Love you guys!! :sign bye:

Good Tuesday morning Wabbit!

Yesterday, I'm not sure what day it was. Memorial Day or Mowing Day. From morning till night there was always a mower to be heard somewhere in the neighborhood. But the weather was perfect for parades, ceremonies, get-togethers, and cook-outs.

Have a "fun" day, BB.

Nice seeing you post Lee. Hope that you are getting over your funk. This is just for you.......white boy.

That was a sweet story K2 about your high school/college romance. Now that I know how it ended up, I won't have to read the last chapter of the book.

Nice picture of you KC. I guessed right about Paul Harvey being the source of, "Now you know the rest of the story." Ah yes, back a few years ago the authoritative, distinctive voices of many broadcasters like Paul Harvey, Charles Kurult, Walter Cronkite, and Mike Wallace.

Hi to all the rest of you Bunnies.

Remember; If you can't be good, post pictures.

PAT: Hopefully, by now your procedure is complete and you are RESTING! Hope it all went well for you. We'll keep the "light on outside the Hutch" for your safe return. TAKE CARE!

Made you WRABBITS a pot of coffee to share! And just in case you can't remember what day it is.....IT'S TUESDAY!

Even though every day is a HOLIDAY for us 'retiree's', sometimes we can get the day after mixed up! Ha Ha.

DAVE: Another fantastically appropriate music find for Lee. How's Jack doing these days after his shots?

That's it for now. Another HOT one coming for us here up North. Remember your Sunscreen folks. Especially on the tops of your ears. Very thin skin up there!

Later..............

A late good morning. Bruce had an INR test this morning and now off to a job or 2.

Me I cleaned out shoes, moved things to the carry on that I bought. I have moved a couple of bags and boxes to the SUV to take to Salvation Army.

Karen, doesn't short hair feel good. I have worn mine short for years but in the last year have gone shorter.

All have a great day.

Not sure of the reason, but for the first time in I don't know how long, I woke up and was not more tired than when I went to bed. Actually had a very good night's sleep and was only up twice instead of the usual multiple times. Hope it is the first of many similar experiences.
Playoff games, at least in the NBA, have traditionally extended into June, K2. I can remember in June of 1976, on the first of my annual fishing trips, listening to the Celtics- Phoenix
triple overtime game on the camp's radio in the dining hall.
Hope that Pat's medical procedures go well and that we will hear soon that they were successful and that she will be home as soon as possible.

And not only can’t I play that funky music, I can’t jump either. Go through your mind‘s Rolodex of useless info and that too will make sense.
Do well (in surgery) , stay well (in the hospital) and get well (so you can get home) Pat. We’ll leave a light on for ya’. :emoticon 0115 inlove:
I like the new doo as well Karen. I keep my hair short too. And thin.
Good on ya for giving clothes and things you don’t have a use for a chance to be enjoyed by someone else Nancy. I reckon, since my heart thingy and the addition of blood thinners to my day, an INR test is just one more test I could fail!
Our guys trip to Detroit for the Friday Indy Car sessions is off Kathie. $25 to park before we take a crowded shuttle to the island. We all need to fill out the ArriveCan app to get home and have our proof of vaccination and Jim doesn’t have (refuses to carry) a cell phone. 7 or 8 bucks to cross the border each way and the Indy Guys are only out for a 1 hour practice session. It it was my beloved Formula 1 I’d be there in a heart beat. I hadn’t seen that video clip.
Dave, it’s hard to believe that the lead singer from Wild Cherry went on to write and promote “Smooth Jazz“ after the band failed to score another #1. Another genre of music, and my favourite, Yacht Rock. The soft rock sounds of Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross and of course Jimmy Buffett to name a few.
Well Bill, at least there’s one of The Original Six, The NY Rangers, in the final four of The Stanley Cup playoffs. Basketball in June is one thing but hockey??
We got the pups to The Navy Yard before 7:00 this morning. It’s way too hot for all of us right now with temps flirting with 90F and increasing humidity. Likely do the same tomorrow before we head to our rec complex to play a couple of hours of indoor pickleball.
That‘s about it from here!
you all have a fantastic day.

Good afternoon,

Pat, hope your procedure went well this morning & you are just kicking back relaxing & enjoying some of that
delicious hospital cuisine...maybe Bert or Missy will take pity on you & bring a nice home cooked meal for you...

Lee, that seems like a lot of bother & hoops to jump thru just to visit the USA for a couple hours...I don't blame you for cancelling...and yep...my RUI recognized the phrase you referenced...White men can't jump...

Kathy, thanks for the coffee...next time could you add a few of those lovely biscotti's you make to the tray to?

Dave, you forgot my favorite newscaster...Dan Rather...and the evening news...

Nancy, this is about the shortest I've ever had my hair cut,my sister cut's it for me & she only trimmed a little at a time off, she's always afraid I'm going to freak out if she cuts it to short...but my hair grows super fast so it doesn't bother me...

Bill, glad to hear somebody from the hutch finally got a good nights sleep...

Today was one of those days I should have either stayed in bed or went back to bed...I did a load of laundry this morning & tossed it in the dryer...when I went to take it out it was still wet...I had forgotten to switch the setting to heat after I tossed a couple pillows in there last week to fluff them up....then I put another load in the washer...and forgot to close the lid...so it went thru the whole cycle without actually washing anything...finally got everything washed, dried & put away and now the afternoon storms are moving in...time to shut down for a while

94 F here my neck of the woods! Too hot for me.

I did morning run to Costco for the 5O# bag of potting soil, $23 bucks worth of Ground Rd (88 -12% lean) $3.99 a pound) A little too lean for the way I like my hamburgers, but the price good! Frozen strawberries for Arts Oatmeal concoction he makes. A box of Quaker oatmeal. And a big jug of white vinegar that I use as a fabric softener in the washing machine dispenser. (1/2cup or less). No smell after clothes dry.
I think I got off good. A nice lady put the 50# bag in the trunk for me.
You know you are OLD when they ask if they can help you! Ha ha

Meat is all packaged up for hamburgers and vacuum sealed and in freezer!

Karen what a way to start your day!

Negc I didn’t slept all that good last night. Glad YOU DID!
My ankles were bugging me on and off. Humidity is not my friend this time of the year.

Lee: I went to the Grand Prix Friday pre-race one time decades ago and it was SO HOT I thought I was going to die. That was when you could still park on Belle Isle. I’d hate to have had to wait for a shuttle bus in that heat. Never went again.
Wise choice that you cancelled.

Off to make us a hamburger and nice salad. We can’t eat outside under the nest awning because IT’S TOO HOT OUT THERE.

Nancy nice job on getting things cleaned out and out of the house! Bless you. I need to do that big time over here.

Hope Pat is okay. Might try to call her tomorrow.

Later gang

Those burgers look mighty tasty Kathie!
I got gas (for the van) today too. Some Shell stations in this area are out of regular and mid grade so they are selling premium for the regular price!
At the end of the day the laundry got done Karen. I bet, like I would have done, you thought the dryer had suddenly gone south.
You all have a great evening!

Lee: The hamburger we had tonight was really good. So was the salad. Nice and easy and quick! Works for me.

I need to get a oil change for the Corsair. I have all kinds of “Points” to use so it won’t cost me anything. Don’t know where the points come from, but a nice service man at the dealership pointed it out to me the last time I had the oil changed. Lincoln use to give you FREE oil changes, not anymore! They will pick-up your car and drop it back off if you want. NO THANK YOU!

Amazing how much has been donated so far.
2 million for the one teacher and for her husband that died from a heart attack the day after she did. 4 children were left without parents. 3 were young teens and one 21 yr old. So sad.

Good morning People!

K2 & Lee, we too in Massillon felt the high temperatures and high humidity. Heck, in some places they closed the schools. Yes, some schools here in the midwest aren't air conditioned.

Good show for Justin Trudeau. He's frozen sales of handguns in Canada. Are AR 15s legal there?

This morning Kathi has her 2 year check up with the doctor who took care of her cataracts and put in new special lenses. "Special" in that both eyes now have 20/20 vision. Not too many doctors do that, so naturally his office is an hour from here.

Should be cooler and less humid today.

Bunnies, at least TRY to be good today.

Quick good morning check in for me, have a Dr. appt at 8:45 to go over the results of my bone density scan, odds are she's going to want me on vitamins or some such nonsense...always something...

Kathy, thanks for the update on Pat...glad to hear everything went well...I'll take my burger well done, lettuce, tomato & ketchup please

Good news from “Camp Pat” Kathie. Thanks for the update! In answer to the question “Where’s the Beef…” It’s in Katie’s freezer.
Hopefully the results of the bone scan are all good Karen. Please let us know.
Prime Minister Trudeau has proposed legislation leading to a ban on hand guns Dave. It still has to be voted on by parliament. A similar Bill was introduced last spring but shelved when an election was called. All assault weapons have been banned in Canada for, don’t quote me on this, a couple of years now. No doubt there are still too many (more than 1 - my opinion) out there. I believe the current Bill allows for “buy back” of banned weapons.
Pickleball was good. Lu-Ann and I had 30 minutes to ourselves to practice. That sure wears you out as it is generally played as doubles. But it gave us a chance to try different shots while not actually playing a “game”. It was “muggy“ in the rec centre so that, combined with the strenuous 30 minutes on our won, saw us leave about 10:00. The weather guessers say that it feels like 95F with the humidex. That’s even warmer than yesterday!
Hi to everyone else!

Canadian gas stations are remarkable, Lee, if they are selling premium gas for the price of regular because the regular is not available. No way in he.. would US stations do that. Instead they would delight in the extra profit they might be making.
Another pretty good night of sleep. Whatever the
reason for it, I am grateful. We had some brief displays of thunder and lightning as I was going to bed but nothing that disturbed our slumber and it was dry but cloudy and cool when I got up.
Also had another very good night at cribbage last night and took 4 of the 5 games and 9 points to our opponents 2 points. Wish the league would start posting the standings so that we knew exactly where we stand. It should be at or close to the top.
As dumb as it may seem the hockey season has also extended into late May and June as well and I can remember one time when the fog from the melting ice was so heavy in the old Boston Garden that it was nearly impossible to see the action. No air-conditioning in the old Garden so the warm weather made it even more uncomfortable.
Hope we get more updates on Pat, but it was good to hear that this time the procedure went well and that she was in her hospital room recuperating.

A late good afternoon. I was busy this morning, dropped off somethings at Salvation Army, dropped a package at UPS to return to Amazon, went to Bass Pro and bought me a pair of smaller binoculars for Alaska and then to Walmart for a few thing. It was barely raining when i left but quite and when driving home it started again. Since sometime early morning we have gotten 1.31 inches and more is supposed to happen thru the rest of the week.

Glad to hear that things went well for Pat.

All have a great day.

Hi GANG! We had a HUGE rain storm hit our WEST side area and do some major damage with fallen trees. On our side of town it was just a HARD RAIN. We luck'ed out.
Art and I went looking for bike STUFF at REI and stopped in at this Serbian ladies restaurant for a sandwich. She does so much for our church by providing after church lunches (which the church or organizations pay her for), but I'm sure she's losing money on doing that. Hopefully, now that the Sunday School has taken a Summer break she'll not be supplying food during the Summer.
Anyways, it's not a fancy place at all, but the food is all homemade from scratch. Something you don't find much of these days. We both had Chicken Salad sandwiches and I added a cup of her yummy Chicken (homemade noodle) soup. YUM.
While we were in there it POURED outside and conveniently stopped just as we were leaving!

Nancy: Do you have a Kohl's close to your home? They take back Amazon returns. Give you the credit right there on the spot. They locate the station deep into the middle of the store so you might BUY something while returning your Amazon pkg. I don't do much ONLINE shopping, so I haven't had to try it out.

Negc:
I remember when the huge old Olympia Stadium was still having Hockey games and they had a playoff and it was so HOT that, like you said, the ice was melting and a FOG was all over inside and they had to stop the game to rectify the issue. Of course, way back in those days, people were actually allowed to SMOKE in the stadium and that didn't help matters.

Lee & Lu-Ann.... I give you a lot of credit going and doing that Pickle Ball workout. I know it's good for Lu-Ann, but I imagine it's equally good for you too. Just not when the TEMP is so dang high outside. Be careful buddy. Don't want you passing out from HEAT EXAUCTION! (not sure if that is spelled write?)

Karen: How's the pool coming along at Janes? Does she heat that pool or just rely on the nice Florida sunshine to warm it up?
And is the Bathroom/shower all done finally?
My days of having this house in ONE PIECE are quickly coming to a end. We got a quart of TOUCH UP PAINT delivered on Sunday (yes Sunday) by Fed-X. Sure hope the new cabinets don't need that much touching up work done! YIKES.... that scared the heck out of me.
I need to start loading up boxes of stuff from the kitchen cabinets to get ready for this remodel job. Suppose to start in about 3 weeks. LORD HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THIS MESS!

Okay, out of hear for now. I'm not hungry at all, but need to fix 'something' for the man!

Have a nice evening all. It cooled down a tad after the rain. Whew.

We got brushed by that storm too Kathie. It toppled Lu-Ann’s planters at the front. They seem none the worse for wear. The chicken sandwich and soup combo sound darned tasty.
Pickleball is excellent for folks with PD. Hand / eye coordination, balance and so on. It’s also good, as is any physical exercise, for me too. There’s another “heart guy” in the group. Joe is an excellent player. Even though the AC was on low it was still warm inside the rec centre. That’s why we cut our session short. We play in one of the rink areas now the ice is out.
Our Amazon returns are done through Purolator Nancy. We have to drop them at the local pickup point or Staples in Windsor. I swear the second the return is scanned into the system by the carrier Amazon issues your refund!
Weren‘t The Philly Flyers and Buffalo Sabres in one of the first “fog” games Bill?
Still too humid here to enjoy a nice walk out side. The heat and humidity are supposed to break tomorrow.
Have a good, safe evening my friends.

Good Thursday morning, Bunnies! (I think it's Thursday.)

Got your British-flag hat on today to begin the Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth? That's going to be one fun shindig, lasting days.

Lucky me, I start off my day with an 8 AM dental appointment. Cleaning and check-up.

Thanks for the info Lee; I was so happy to read that Canada outlawed assault rifles. Here, there's way too many people that bow down to the firearms God for that to happen in the near future. No matter how many mass shooting there are.

And thanks to you K2 for letting us know that BB's surgery went well. She might be home by the weekend. And thanks a bunch pal for putting in people's minds the idea of eating a chicken salad sandwich.

So what's the skinny on your bone density test, KC? I hate doing medical tests where you aren't informed of the results for days.

Kathi's eye exam went great yesterday. All was good and she won't have to go back for 2 years.

It was a bit noisy here yesterday. A next door neighbor of ours is sure helping the economy with home improvements. First there was some inside remodeling. Then taking down 4 or 5 large trees. Then putting down a cement pad behind his garage for a new shed for all his lawn toys. Now he's ripping up the old cracked cement drive for a new cement drive. PLUS rip up the cement floor of his 2+ car garage. There is definitely a loud BANG when a big chunk of concrete is dropped into the dump-truck bed. Makes me wonder if this young couple won some lottery.
