Dave, I think I will pass on the strawberry kisses...most of the time to me the strawberry flavor is to fake...but they sure do keep coming up with new combinations...

Nothing much going on here either...rained most of the day yesterday so no pool time...I have some errands to run later so may stop by the pool after that...

Unlike Dave, I am unwilling to give the place that sent him the gun shop flier the benefit of the doubt. For the gun nuts out there, the massacre in Uvalde is the perfect time to make their argument that we "need more guns" to protect ourselves and our children. And of course, the revelation of the police's fatally wrong decision to delay going after the shooter, will be used to deflect from the fact that an 18 year old, clearly mentally disturbed individual, was so easily able to legally purchase two rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
Celtics couldn't take advantage of playing on their home court last night and so the series will return to Miami on Sunday for the final and decisive game. Both teams have been able to win at least one game in their rival's arena, so Go Celts.

Good afternoon. Well it has been a busy day. Yesterday Bruce got a text about a charge on his checking account and today we got a call and then I saw another charge so we went to the bank and closed the two checking accounts and opened new one, plus closed my savings acct and opened a new one and just a bit ago I saw a fraudulent charge on the savings acct so have just finished talking with someone at the bank and will be getting a form to fill out, had to fill out 3 of the same at the bank this morning. I had to redo the payments for credit cards but they are done. Have made the change for payment for the power company and have requested the form for the water bill. Now to contact Social Security, the State of Fl and Cargill about the change of account for our monthly payments, from them.

Pat while sorry that they could not do the procedure at least they now have what sounds like a real good plan.

Dave, I too am unwilling to forgive that gun shop. I am sure they wanted the papers to arrive to coincide with the nra convention. And it is a nope from me for the strawberry kisses.

I am NOT for any kind of GUN advertising at all. I HATE GUNS. PERIOD.
But I know from doing BULK MAILING at our CHURCH that you have to fill out forms and have all your mailings of advertising in ZIP CODE ORDER. And band it. And you have to do it way ahead of when you want it to get into people's mailboxes.
I really think that the Gun Shop Owner wanted his flyers to get into the mailboxes the same time the NRA convention was going on. Then again, who knows unless he tells us if we ask him.
BUT .... what we do know is that the owner DID NOT KNOW there was going to be another MASSIVE SHOOTING/KILLING of elementary kids.
Like I said, I don't condone anything to do with guns, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt about when he sent them out.
I bet he wishes he NEVER sent them period.

Got a lot done today, but more needs to be done tomorrow.

Kids are coming over tomorrow to help put up the canvas awning and bring up the deck chairs. THANK GOODNESS!

Off to make a Texas Sheet Cake for tomorrows dessert. PIZZA and SALAD is going to be their reward for helping us out. Gotta give myself a break and do something easy.

PAT I hope you're feeling okay. If something ISN'T "right" don't hesitate to get yourself to the hospital. You had a lot of poking around going on. Take care and rest.

Good morning.
Admittedly I have been in a bit of “a funk“ (whatever the heck that means) lately. Time just seems to get away faster than I expect. I check in, OK, I read along to see what everyone has been up to and how you’re all doing but I don’t seem to have the courtesy or energy to say hello before I start trying to get on with my day. It’s not right on my part.
I’m sure that, like a kidney stone, this too shall pass.
Anyway, I will make an extra effort to set aside a few minutes to make sure I do check in regularly, no, daily and take part in the banter that this gang is so very, very good at.
No matter where you all are I hope that your day is better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Good Sunday morning all of you romantics!

What made me think of this song is because one of our young granddaughters shared with Kathi that she had developed a crush on a boy in her class, the last week of the school year. Oh, that young love.

So pleased BB that you gave us the skinny on your stent procedure. This is going to take a lot longer than you or I expected. But it will be done right. How's about setting up your phone or tablet so you can post on here while you're in the hospital. That is going to be one long and boring time for you in the hospital.

I know, K2! I know, K2! They gave Elaine some marijuana to improve her appetite. And the munchies just took over from there. "The change in her voice, attitude and of course the fact she is eating more is fantastic."

You wouldn't accept a "strawberry kiss" from me Sugarplum? I mean KC.

I'm as frustrated as you Bill, about the NRA, all the guns, and weak politicians afraid of any kind of gun restrictions, no matter how minor.

Damn Nancy, ALWAYS someone trying to get into our private information to steal from us.

So, that's where you been hiding Dudley Do-Right. Funks are a pain, but like you said, they too will pass.

Perfect weather, sunny and warm here, from today through Wednesday. Boats, motorcycles, and convertibles will all be out in abundance. Not to mention all the barbecues.

My only goal today is to weed around a light/flowerbed by our drive, and put out quite a few American flags there.

Only Strawberry flavored white chocolate that I like is LINDOR. They make it for around Valentine's Day. It tastes like real strawberries.

LEE: Don't feel bad about being in a FUNK. I'm like that almost ALL the TIME. I push myself to try and be cheery. My friend got an anti-depressant and that's what's making her feel so good. I think it's time for me to hang it up and talk about that with my Primary doctor at my next annual visit. No shame in being HAPPY.
The part that I don't need is "gaining weight"!
I think I would physically be much better if I could just get 8 full hours of SLEEP A NIGHT. Maybe I need to go to one of those SLEEP CLINICS and see if they can help re-program my sleep pattern.

We've been busy this morning getting as MUCH AS WE CAN ready for the AWNING RAISING!! Pain in the tuu-too!

Good afternoon. I spent a lot of this morning resetting checking account number for our direct payments, have one more to do, but have to find where I can do it. Most frustrating is redoing Social Security payment, after putting in the new account info they give you a choice of dates and the earliest is August. I did a survey and where I could I commented that the change had to be done now so want payments going to the new account in June. At least yesterday at the bank he made a statement that payments may come in to the old accounts so to transfer to the new account.

Watching the Indy 500. Later will watch the Coca Cola 600.

Made a macaroni salad for dinner, will fix Coconut Shrimp to go with it. And I have gotten the steak for tomorrow out and in the fridge to thaw.

One thing that I see and makes me upset is that so many people think that Memorial Day is to thank those serving now when it is to remember those that gave their life while serving. To thank those serving now you thank them on Veteran's Day when you thank those currently serving and those that did serve.

Memorial Day, my dear Bunnies!

For a long time of my life I believed it began around World War One. A bit before that, actually.

It seems that shortly after the Civil war ended a mass grave of Union POWs was unearthed in the south somewhere. They were then given a proper burial. Then thousands of people, many of which were former slaves, decided to decorate those graves.

Hence the original name of the holiday, "Decoration Day".

I'm still unclear as to when or why they changed the name to Memorial Day.

Did you ever get your flags in the ground, K2? I did. And just as I was going in the house, the lawn-guy showed up. Yes on a Sunday. He said his wife wanted to go on a short trip today and tomorrow, so he decided to get some of his mowing done, since the weather is so nice. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not spend much time on the roads right now. In spite of the high gas prices, the roads are suppose to be packed. And airports are real zoos.

Oh yea K2; Do you have any idea whatever happened to that boy who went off to college and left you with a broken heart?

Good morning. Watched the whole Indy 500 and most of the Coca Cola 600. About 10 I was so tired I had to go to bed and fell asleep, but I did wake up a bit before the end so I did see the end. Fell back to sleep pretty easy but of course woke two more times.

Tonight I will grill steak and have the mac salad with it.

Dave I too did not realize that memorial Day started after the Civil War. I did realize it started as Decoration Day.

A couple of days ago I helped Bruce straighten up the Key Lime tree, as it was leaning so bad that getting in the passenger side of the SUV you would get hit. So now it is straight and the pot is now in a box that Bruce made. So he has been trimming it some and I think he is finally done.

Yes, it's all about those who fought for our FREEDOM. Wish they were still with us to help us KEEP that FREEDOM these days. They were true Patriots. Say a prayer today while you do whatever it is you do on this holiday.

Dave: Years ago I asked about the young man who broke my heart. I asked a friend from our church who I grew up with and was at her parents house for a birthday party for her brother about "Don Wilson" and if she knew what had become of him. She told me he went off to college and then got married and had 2 kids. From what she knew he stayed the nice guy that he always was and I haven't asked about him since then. Life went on for both of us! Ha Ha. "And now you know the whole story" (who use to say that phrase)??

We had a fantastic time putting up the AWNING. It went up like a dream this year. It helped that Art sprayed the track up on the roof with Silicone before the gang came to help!
We had a nice INSIDE picnic of homemade Cold Mac (mayo) Salad and Pizza from Buddy's and Y'All Tea brewed made from Southern Tea I had bought. (Iced) The Texas Sheet cake was eaten out on the deck under the AWNING. All in all it was a fantastic family time.
The kids all loved Art's paint job and the new light fixture too.

Today is a work in the yard day and it's HOT out there already. 78F. Suppose to get up to 90. Yikes.......I'm off of here to get out while I can still stand it. Thank goodness there is GOOD WIND and NO HUMIDITY like yesterday. Whew!

Enjoy your day and think of those who SERVED for the USA and are not with us today.

Lee, funks come & funks go...but the bunny hutch will be around for a good long time...I think all of us can relate to just being able to keep up with what's posting & not feeling like joining in...

Nancy, steaks on the grill sound mighty good! You & Bruce must have a fair amount of land to take care of with all the trees & plants you are having to trim...

Went to Jane's yesterday & mowed the front yard & helped her work on the pool some more..then she cut my hair for me...I'll try to post a pic, it's really REALLY short...but I like it and it will be nice not to have to fuss with it thru the summer
This afternoon is the ice cream social at the club house...think I am going to skip the ice cream part..they buy cheap generic ice cream that comes in a tub...I'm getting picky in my old age & refuse to waste calories on something that doesn't taste good.
My sisters are coming over to swim after Barb gets off work, so maybe we will go out after & get some good ice cream...I'm off here for the day...

Spent a good part of yesterday with friends at their campsite on Cape Cod and was surprised to find much less traffic on the roads than I expected. Got home in the early evening in time to settle in and enjoy the Celtics win Game 7 of the Eastern Conference championship series. The Celtics led from the start and, while they never trailed, it did get to be a bit scary towards the end, and the winning margin was only 4 points. Now it is off to the West Coast to meet the Golden State Warriors for the NBA Championship. Game One is Thursday night, so they have a couple of days to recover from the rigors of the last series.
I remember Paul Harvey as well KC and always enjoyed the little vignettes that he told at the end of his broadcasts.

94 degrees. I said ENOUGH is ENOUGH and came inside. I can feel the SALT on my skin from working around the house planting and watering! Lord help us when the 1st WATER BILL of the season gets here!

Negc: Nice to know your Celtics are off to the finals. Seems so LATE for Basketball to still be doing playoffs, but Hockey is even worse sometimes!
I bet you had a nice time at the "CAPE". How fun to be able to drive and not have a hwy full of traffic.
It seemed really EMPTY on the roads yesterday as Eric and I went to pick up the Pizza. I was able to make a LEFT HAND TURN out of our subdivision without waiting 5 mins. I actually crossed myself in shock!

Time to hit the shower and get myself a nice tall glass of Y'All Tea.
