Good morning and thank you for all the birthday wishes. This has got to be short, as it is almost time to head for the Vascular specialist's office to see what he wants to do today. Tomorrow I get to meet another new doctor. This one is a wound specialist. I'm beginning to feel like the Villages. They keep expanding areas covered too!! LOL

Better run and get ready for this new adventure. Take care all and I'll be back when I can.

Back from the STRESS TEST! The staff doing the test were fantastic. WOW. Best stress-test ever. Well, at least the procedure was the best. Now to wait for the results. My doctor is on duty to read all the STRESS TESTS that were done today. If there are any ISSUES shown on the test I will get a call tomorrow morning. If NO LIFE THREATING issues then I'll see her at my regular set appointment in June 6th. This office does not post the results onto my personal Portal right away like the hospital does when doing test. Bummer. I do like that I am able to see results on my various Portals. This morning I was able to look up when I had my last Stress Test. It was 2018.

PAT..... hope you get to be WINE'd and DINE'd tonight for your Birthday. Hate to see YOU have to cook. Hope the Vascular doc was able to help you today. Can't wait to hear what the WOUND SPECIALIST has to say about your non-healing wound issue.

Karen:
Hope your "Smashing" was just "Smashing" this morning.
And now about that POOL TIME. I'm
happy for you and the others going to the pool, but I came home from my test and turned on the FURNANCE. Hard to believe it was only in the 50's and cold and damp in this house. It's drizzling outside on and off. The big rain comes later tonight. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

Lee: I took pictures with my cell phone of lots of very detailed HEART CHARTS that were on one of the walls where I had to wait for 1/2 hr after they gave me the nuclear injection. Amazing all the various sections of a heart muscle. Hard to believe they can open a person up and repair things with all that clutter inside of us.
Getting any rain down your way?

Out of here for now. I need to find a blanket and curl up on the couch. It's even too dreary to READ A BOOK or KNIT today.

Later gang.

Cribbage was over well before the Celtics/Heat game began and we were actually home in time to see the start. Celtics started strong and led by the end of the first half but couldn't hold on, so they are down one with the second game due tomorrow night. Cribbage was very successful for the second time. Started by skunking our opponents in the first who countered by skunking us in the second. We took each of the final three games and ended up with 9 points to their 3.
Chillly here as well, K2 and due to be even chillier tomorrow but then the heat (and the HEAT) arrive and we may hit 90 degrees over the weekend.
Lawn crew was here at 8am this morning and it seems that for whatever reason they always begin their mowing etc. in our immediate vicinity, so we couldn't sleep in
had we wanted too (and I definitely wanted to).
Doctor's visits aren't the best way to celebrate a birthday, BB, but I hope that the results will be good and you can enjoy the rest of your day doing something more enjoyable.
All our utilities are underground, K2 but not those in the rest of the town so when something happens to the wires there, we feel the effects as well. The power company has usually been able to repair the outages fairly quickly but it is still a positive to have our generator. Many, but not every house in the neighborhood, have generators so we were more fortunate than we originally knew to have ours.

Nothing done at the doctor's today. This turned out to be a consult. The actual stints will go in my right leg, which is completely clogged a week from Friday at 8:00 AM. We will have to get up by 5:30 as it's an hour ride to the office without morning rush hour traffic.

Getting ready to go out for dinner with G&E. This will be third day in a row that I didn't have to cook. A week long birthday celebration!!!

See you all in the morning!

WOW LEE & Lu-Ann........that was one fantastic Birthday Wish Card you gave to PAT. Kudo's.
I am amazed at how you find these things. :clap002:

Pat: Nice to know you'll soon be getting some LIFE flowing into your legs.
All the best of luck on Thursday with the new Wound Doctor.

Not sure how you were able to plan all these appointments on your "BIRTHDAY WEEK"! ;)
Hope dinner w/ G&E was a good one.

Negc word has it we're supposed to get a real TEMP BOOST any day now. It's 52 degrees and dropping for the evening here right now. Rain has stopped for a while.

Wondering if I'm radio-active from the nuclear juice they injected in me today?? Actually, the tech said they use some type that isn't anything like the old days when you had to stay away from your family members for so many hours or days so they wouldn't be in contact with the rays. Modern technology is good sometimes.

Good morning.
It poured all day yesterday. Good for the grass I suppose.
I was up early because of a strange glow coming from across the border. It couldn’t possibly be the radio active stuff, could it Kathie? Yes,I called in a favour to get Al to do that greeting for Pat. ;)
I sure hope that upcoming appointment is the best birthday present of all Pat. They get those legs fixed up.
A trip to the grocery today Dave? The regular stuff and if they happen to have Key Lime ice cream that wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Our power was out the other night too Bill. Like your area, it’s all underground in the new area but some of the feeder lines are still above ground.
No Karen, I did not win this year’s battle with Ma Bell. No matter what I did service is up $10 a month. And we have no other provider in this part of town.
Hopefully you are sleeping well and your aches are at a minimum Nancy.
With fuel at or near $2.10 a litre, we are really not venturing too far just for the heck of it. Converted that’s about $6.21USD for a US gallon.
Have a great day everyone.

Now THAT was birthday card, Lee. Good show Lad. YIKES on your gasoline prices!

YES, you are finally getting something actually done to help your poor leg circulation, BB. Instead of just listening to doctors only talk about it. When I had my stents put in I could feel a noticeable improvement within a couple of days.

Today is grocery shopping day. It'll be at the larger grocery store here in town since they carry some items that our usual store doesn't. Plus it has a pharmacy.

And that's it from me this morning. Another whirlwind day of life in the fast lane.

61 degrees here in Pure COLD Michigan! But SUNNY and only to get really warmer FAST the next couple of days. Expecting rain again sometime this weekend.

Lee: I think that was ME sending off those radio active VIBES! Ha Ha. I'm just glad I didn't feel sick at all during or after all the stuff they injected into me. I wonder if it will help keep the latest COVID strain away from me?

Art is biking and I'm off to Costco (4 miles away straight as a Crow flies from our house) to buy some COFFEE BEANS, Walnuts, and Psyllium powder that Art mixes with water and takes everyday! Let's see if I can make it out with just the 3 items. I might buy a pkg of Lamb Chops if the price hasn't gone sky high.

That's it from me. Have a FANTASTIC DAY all.

Good morning! Time only for a short post before we start our daily running around.

Lee & Lu-Ann - That birthday card was fantastic. Where do you find all this great stuff?

Had an awful night's sleep last night. I'm going to go lie down for a little while before we have to leave for our ride ti the doctor's office. I'll try to stop by later to let you all know how I made out. Bye for now.

Yesterday was a busy day. First was to get new hearing aids, which what I have to pay is not bad, only $200 more than my current ones were, plus $3oo for the molds so I can get molded pieces, so the total out of pocket was $2800 and the new ones are rechargeable. Since I am getting molded ear pieces it may be a few weeks, but I can wai

Then it was to Salvation Army to drop 4 bags, Then to CVS to get a few things and then to Winn Dixie for a few things. Got home and Bruce was there and said that there was a Rx for him at Publix, so we picked that up. The went to Palm City to pick up a patio table and two of the chairs. Then to Mc Donald's for a hamburger for me since it was almost 3. Then home. Once home I gave Bruce the first shot, and then set the clocks for 3:45 so we can get up and do the second shot. He has to go back to the Dr for anew INR test tomorrow morning. He had put almost everything from the van to the Telluride so we could get the table and some chairs in the van. After letting him rest a bit we got the things out of the van and the things out of the Telluride, since I have an appt tomorrow morning for an oil change and recall thing taken care of.

Good afternoon. This morning was crazy here. Bruce had to go get an INR test and he could not find his wallet, after lookin gall over I rechecked my purse and it was there in the little inside pocket, so he left. I left to get the oil change and recall thing done. I had a couple of coupons and found that I did not need them as we have a maintenance plan. They said it would be after 12:30 or even 1 so I went next door to Outback and had lunch, well as soon as I got back the service guy got me as all was done.

We are waiting for the results of Bruce's INR and whether or not to do more shots, and how to do his Coumadin.

All have a great day.

Nancy, I picked up my new hearing aid about two weeks ago and today I picked up the new ear mold. It is also rechargeable so no more changing batteries every six or seven days. Price was a little less than what you mentioned though it was only for one hearing aid and I have the impression you have two. The hearing center I go to provides free batteries so, while I won't have any financial benefit from the new hearing aid, I will find it more convenient.
Lunch with my high school classmates was very good and there were a dozen of us which, considering how many years have passed since we graduated that seems to be pretty good. We were missing one classmate who, over the years, has been the chief organizer of this event. Over the winter he was struck and seriously injured by an MBTA bus in his hometown. He lost a leg and is
currently in a rehab facility learning how to manage with his new prosthesis. We were able to speak on the phone with him and he is in very good spirits and says he is looking forward to rejoining for our Fall luncheon.
A heavy mist and temperatures in the 50's is what we are experiencing at present with more rain coming over night. It is supposed to get warmer tomorrow and on the weekend we will have high humidity and temperatures in the 90s. Absolutely crazy weather and after the weekend, the temps are expected to drop back into the 70s. Had to turn the heat on last night but will be turning the AC back on tomorrow or Saturday.
Loved that birthday card you sent Pat, Lee. Haven't seen or heard much of Weird Al since the days when he was a feature of the Dr. Demento radio show.

Costco's was packed. I got the 3 items that were on my list. THEN............
I went into the wine area and bought 1 bottle of Red Wine from Argentina. It had a score of 92. I have no clue what that means. Must be a Costco rating. They do have really good wines.

Bought a heavy grooved black grid for the outside grill. Hope this thing works on top of the nasty grids that came with the grill. I can't find replacements and just don't want to spend $300-400 bucks on a new gas grill that we hardly use. (Although, when they start the kitchen remodel, we will be using it A LOT) If it starts to buckle it will go back to Costco.

So I didn't do too bad with extras!

It's gotten hot here fast this afternoon. Humid from all the rain we had. 82 F now.
Tomorrow 90's and it will be 90% chance of rain. Joy, Joy.

Nancy, you had a busy, busy day. Hope all is going to be good with Bruce.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEGC: Please tell me how you like the MOLDED Hearing Aid! Art needs new ones soon and I'd like to know if you like them better than the ones that go over your ear and then the rubber thingy goes into your ear.

Do you fell like the molded one is SECURE ENOUGH when walking or moving around? How is the sound with that kind? Would really appreciate your input so I can pass it on to Art.
What brand did you get? Was it able to be programed and adjusted to your hearing level?

Thanks for any info.

I cleaned the grill of Winter dirt and washed the utensils that stay outside. We have a cover on it, but it still gets dirty!

Out of here for now!

Well at just before 4:30 we decided to go to Bruce's heart Dr's as we had not heard whether or he was to do any more shots, or how much Coumadin, it was after 5 when a nurse took us in and she decided o get our regular nurse, Well she had not heard from the Dr yet so she said to go in tomorrow morning and get a new INR and no shots right now and no Coumadin tonight. So tomorrow when we go in will be sure to tell them to call Bruce's cell phone as we are going to Jupiter for the day and night. And I am taking two shots, two alcohol pads and the bottle of Coumadin, so we can do whatever they call and say to do.

NEGC, yes my cost is for two hearing aides. My insurance will be paying $2500 for the two also, which as far as they are concerned cost is a total of $5000. The place I went charges $5800 if you don't have insurance.

K2, the molds they took for me is for a molded ear piece that connects to the hearing aid which is behind the ear.

So I am not sure if I will get on tomorrow.

HOLD ONTO YOUR CARDS, WE HAVE A BINGO!

Figures.......It wasn't advertised in the newspaper this week, so guess what we found at the grocery store? Yup, Key Lime Pie ice cream. It's marked as a "Limited Edition", so I got 2 containers of it. It's quite good and has a graham cracker swirl in it.

Although not packed shelves, there were good quantities of various baby formulas.

And the only thing we couldn't get that was on the list is some Claritin-D at their pharmacy. Now there's a shortage of that stuff.

We live about 6 blocks away from the local Catholic church/school. Last night they began their yearly festival. Rides, games, and fair food. The weather should remain good for them through Saturday. It's unclear whether or not it will rain on Sunday.

Although 6 blocks away, we can still hear the kids laughing and screaming from the rides.

Today's plans? I'll figure that out while I'm on the stationary bike.

K2, As Nancy said, the hearing aid still sits over and behind the ear and the mold itself fits inside the ear. The new mold is smaller than the one I previously had and seems to fit better and deeper inside the ear.
Well if we can handle this weekend's heat half as well as the Celtics handled the Heat last night, all should be well. They
pretty much dismantled Miami's team last night and showed how much Marcus Smart and Al Horford's presence was missed on Tuesday. If they play with half the intensity tomorrow night this could end up being a 5 game series instead of a 6 or 7 one.
Not much on the agenda for the weekend at the present but that might change. If it doesn't, we will likely spend most of it inside enjoying the AC.
Glad you found some Key Lime Pie ice cream and that it lived up to your expectations. Next time I am in the supermarket, I will see if it is offered here. One of my favorite pies is lemon meringue but the few times I have had key lime pie, I have liked it almost as much. Best ones I ever had were in Key West. Does the mention of key lime pie raise anyone else's memory of the story line in the TV program St. Elsewhere, when Howie Mandel's character embarked on a mission to find the perfect key lime pie for one of his elderly patients?

SNAP is it hot! 76F but feels like 82F.
We played pickelball this morning, walked the pups before it got too warm, filled the van with gas for $102.00 (that was down 10 cents a litre from yesterday!) had lunch and got our second booster (fourth shot) of Pfizer.
Wow Bill.
Mentions of both Dr. Demento AND Dr. Fiscus on St. Elsewhere. How old are you really?
Limits on Key Lime Pie ice cream? Let's blame that on supply chain issues too, eh Dave! Glad you finally got some and, it seems, the quest was worth the prize.
Key Lime Pie. Best ever that we've had was at Blue Heaven in Key West. the restaurant is a little off the beaten track but dang that pie was good.
It sounds like you're prepared whatever the doctor asks Nancy. Unless it's be in my office in 20 minutes...
Ditto for our little grill Kathie. It sits out, covered, but till manages to get dirt on it. It's a dandy little grille but it's big enough for Lu-Ann and I and if we have guests we can likely do a dozen burgers. Of course here in "Ontario The Good" Costco can't sell wine. Or beer. But we still managed to spend $160 there yesterday.
Hopefully all went well at the doc's office Pat. We worry you know. It's what we do.
How's tricks in your neck of the woods Karen?
As you all know, I am trying hard to read labels for saturated fat and sodium content. I picked up a bag of Snickers Popcorn at Costco. Yep, popcorn with little bits of Snickers Bars mixed in. Believe it or not, it was way lower in "bad stuff" than you may think. A guy's gotta have a treat now and again!
Stay well everyone.

Lee, I believe that the correct answer to your question is "older than dirt".
No Key Lime Pie ice cream at my supermarket when I was there today although they had
almost every other possible flavor. Strangely enough they also did not have Rita's favorite- Butter Pecan. I ended up with the more basic "vanilla".
For the past month I have had a problem with the supermarket's website and haven't been able to access the points that give me cents off our groceries, but finally corrected the situation (before the points expired) and managed to get $11 off today's purchases, so the trip today was worthwhile.
Got a relatively good night's sleep last night but I still don't understand that when I get out of bed I feel sleepier and more ready to go back to bed than I did at bedtime the night before.

Good evening from soggy Belleview...finally got some much needed rain this afternoon...and there is still some rumbling going on so hopefully we'll get some more...

Dave, glad the hunt for Key Lime Pie ice cream was finally successful
now fingers crossed your freezer keeps working so you don't end up with Key Lime soup...

Pat, hoping you are getting some good advice on the leg problem...surely between all these Dr.'s one of them will know what the heck they are doin..

Bill, Butter pecan is my favorite ice cream too...

Kathie, getting out of a store like Costco or Sam's club with only 1 or 2 items not on your list is pretty much a miracle...or a very determined shopper!

Lee, now that Snickers popcorn sounds down right delicious! Might have to see if I can find it on Amazon or anywhere...

Nancy, safe travels...some crazy weather going on around the state tonite & tomorrow...

Been busy, busy the last couple days...Wed. after the mammogram I went to Barb's for a little bit & finished up a few things there...then Jane came by & we all came by to my house for pool time...spent most of the afternoon in the pool...
Yesterday I puttered around the house a bit & then went to Sam's club for gas...$4.26 a gal...which was .20+ cents a gal cheaper than anywhere around here
Today was house cleaning day...changed the sheets & mopped the floors...then Jane called & she was having trouble with her sliding glass door so I went to check that out for her...got it rolling smooth again...for now...really needs to be replaced, but $$$....
Tomorrow after Barb gets off work we are all going up to Gainesville to pick up some shelves she bought from Ikea for the bathroom closet...they are being dropped off at a Fed-Ex office...then lunch at BJ's...a little place we like to eat at when we are in the area...
Next week, more Dr. appts....I'm really starting to feel like an old person some times... Night all....enjoy the evening & the weekend!!
