Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1!

Smells neat outside. Rain is on dry grass smell.

Saw this on Facebook and it was too cute not to share!

Well, it's like talking to myself on here today!

Ha ha.

So that RAIN and THUNDER we got earlier.....lasted all of 5 mins tops! The street didn't even have a chance to get all wet.
Hope the clouds go away by tonight so we can see the "BLUE MOON" action.

In HONOR of the Detroit Tigers winning the baseball game today, we had

BALL PARK Hot Dogs and homemade Beef Barley soup. Yup, soup on a hot day. Crazy. But it was vacuumed sealed and all I had to do was warm it up! Gotta love a quick Sunday evening meal.

Out of here for today.

Since all the trash-can soldiers are standing at attention on both sides of the street, it must be Monday.

We sure have been spoiled here by the weather lately. Seven days in a row with mostly sunshine and temperatures hitting 80 or above. Now we get back to the normal 60's and 70's for this time of year.

Today I'll be surprised if our lawn guy mows. It's going to be very wet for at least this morning.

Nothing wrong with talking to yourself, K2. As long as you don't get into an argument. And it's so embarrassing when you are talking to yourself in the car, and you look over and the driver of the car next to you is staring at you.

No great plans for the day. Need to get on the treadmill, as I watch a recorded movie. I'd go nuts if I had to get on it without some distraction.

Oh yea; I got a bit spooked yesterday about our refrigerator. I've got a thermometer in the freezer compartment and normally it's zero to 10 degrees below 0. But yesterday morning when I opened it for something, the temperature was in the 40's. NUTS! And the ice cream had already turned into soup.

So I was making plans to have it checked out and fixed today. And then about an hour later it just started running again. Spooky. So far, so good.

We had just got that frig when we remodeled the kitchen. BUT, Oh how time flies. The paperwork shows that was 9 years ago.

Good morning!

Dave, bummer about the freezer acting up, but on the bright side at least it wasn't Key Lime Pie "soup" in there....

Kathie, nothing at all wrong with talking to yourself....sometimes you just need a good pep talk...

Hope your friend Elaine is doing better, that was a very scary incident for her...

Lee, hope you guys didn't over do it with the fence post replacement...it might seem "cool" out there...but once you get lifting & tugging it warms up fast...as Dr. Kathie would tell you, drink lots of water!

Pat, sounds like you all are getting a lot more rain than we are...we had a brief steady rain on Friday...and then it teased rain yesterday afternoon...rumbled quite a bit but very little rain to speak of...Good luck on the Dr. visits this week!

Bill, to bad they can't get your paper delivery sorted out....you would think with so many people who do the online version they would be able to keep up & deliver the paper in a timely manner...

Nancy, welcome to flight change roulette...hopefully any further changes will be good ones...

Not much on tap here today, might even mosey down to the pool this afternoon & see if anyone is around
Sat. I finished helping Jane get her pool cleaned up & ready for the season....and tomorrow morning I have to be there early because the service guy from Southern plumbing is coming to install a new toilet for her, replace her tub spout & her shower trim...I think as long as I'm over there I will go ahead & mow the back yard...save having to make another trip over later this week...
I do believe there might be another cup of coffee calling my name...enjoy your Monday all!!

Good morning. Well yesterday went pretty good. There were not many people there but one thing that I thought was so nice was that Barbara's two nurses came from Orlando, the one had been with her for 9 years. Since there were so few of us, Sean, her SIL started the eulogy early and so everything moved up in time but all went well.

After we came home and changed clothes and got a few things then went to Jupiter to have dinner with everyone. Bruce wanted to stay to watch the eclipse but I was so tired we did come home and you could see the moon better at our house than at the beach.

No real plans for today.

All have a great day.

No sooner do I complain about the late delivery of Sunday's paper than what should miraculously appear on our front porch before 9am this morning but Monday's Globe. Likely different people delivering papers on weekdays than on the weekend.
Not sure of the cause, but once again we lost power in the neighborhood for about an hour last evening. One more reason to be happy for having a generator. Of course it still meant resetting all the clocks on the various household appliances and we lost cable service for that period of time and were unable to see the ending of the program we were watching.
Celtics came on strong in the 7th game of their playoff series with Milwaukee and so they will be moving on to meet the Miami Heat in the next round.
Appointment with the dermatologist this afternoon. Hope he doesn't find it necessary to zap me more than a few times.

Late morning check in here!

DAVE: You sure were up EARLY this morning. WOW. Bummer about the Refrig going on and off. Another good reason to keep your Ice Cream in a plastic bag in case it ever happens and melts.
Hope the Kathi is doing better after her last fall out of bed.

Nancy good that all went well for the family yesterday. Nice of the nurses to come to the service.

Karen: The BATHROOM PROJECT is all but DONE. THANK GOODNESS! :clap002:

Bill: Bummer on all the OUTAGES in your complex. I can see why the previous owners put in a generator. But resetting everything gets old fast. Time to complain to the power company or the HOA if they have anything to do with it. Good luck.

PAT: Good luck with all your appts this week. Hope you get at least one of the BOZO doctors to figure out what's going on with your wounds.

We had RAIN last night and early this morning. Everything is NICE and WET. The temps dropped and it's 61F right now. Feels good.

Art is doing TOUCH UP work on the moldings today and hopes to be DONE, DONE, DONE with this paint project.

The lady called about the Extension Rods we need for the light fixture, and they CAN BE ORDERED. Might get them by the end of the week.

Lee: Bet you had a nice walk in-between the puddles today at the park. Did you see any freighters?

I'm out of here for now. Have a good day all.

Karen: I talked to Elaine yesterday afternoon and she sounded really good over the phone. Today she will start therapy on getting her strength back. Her daughter made it in late last night. Poor Stacey has her hands full living way over in California and having to fly back to take care of things for her Mom. Not easy on either of them.

Good Monday afternoon.
The fence project went well. We intended to do it over two days but things progressed, the auger was available, so we got it all done yesterday. Linda is a happy camper that it's done! So is her Greyhound.
It poured here starting last night shortly after dinner and went through the night. Power was out for a tad according to the flashing clocks on the oven and microwave.

It has turned beautiful here now! Sunny and just shy of 70F.
We do enjoy walking by the river Kathie. Yes, freighters going up and down yesterday and today. A bonus is seeing the local art group out with their easels, brushes and canvas painting all of the spring flowers!
Good luck at the dermo Bill.
I heard that coffee calling Karen. It called me too! Whoever invented chair height toilets should be nominated for an award of some sort.
Nice to know that Barbara had a nice service and send off Nancy. The final farewell is always a tough one for everyone who knew and cared about a person.
Now days Dave, people often appear to be talking to themselves when in reality they're on their phones! It used to just be (get ready for some political incorrectness) the crazy old bum on the street who talked to himself. Not any more! Better drink that "soup" up there pal. You really can't refreeze ice cream. Well, you can but it pretty much sucks.

for once we had no leftover in the fridge.
Pat, are you sure that was your fridge? Hope all is well with your legs and the such!
I have to head out to a Purolator drop off point. We ordered a pickelball shoulder bag to carry our paddles and hold our "stuff" while we're playing and it wasn't nearly as advertised on Amazon.
You all have a wonderful day and hopefully it's as nice where you all are as it is here!

Karen: OOPS....you caught me SPEED READING again. Ha Ha.
When we remodeled our master bathroom we bought HIGHER toilet. Best investment ever. And we never took off the neat arm handles that we put on when Art had his last back surgery. Nobody used our bedroom bathroom and those handles are GODSENT giving you a boost to get up. And now with my knees acting up whenever they please I love them.
Our bathroom in between the two bedrooms has a SOMEWHAT lower toilet, but it's not as bad as some of them out there.
Some brain dead idiot put LOW Toilets in our church bathroom. I just make sure I don't drink coffee before going to church, because I'm not sure I'd ever get up from those silly things. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I managed to plant 2 tomato plants and 2 Jalapeño plants. It was almost like planting them in mud from all the rain last night.

Tomorrow you get 10% off at the flower
nursery and I need to buy some trailing plants for the 2 porch pots I put together. Planting way less this year one because of the COST and two because I'm getting too old for all this bending! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile::eek:

Good Tuesday, Bunnies!

I'll tell you one thing, our topics of conversation cover almost every subject.

And now it's toilet seat heights.

Which reminds me that our toilet is a low-rider. Yes, they are a pain to get up from.

It also reminded me of my embarrassing OOPS last year when I used the women's bathroom instead of the men's, while I was at the hospital for a test. I remember that under the seat there was a 2 plus inch spacer to get the seat much higher from the bowl. And I asked myself, "What the Hell is that thing for?" Now I know.

Can't say I've ever seen a toilet with arm-handles. But it does sound like a good idea. I prefer sitting in chairs that have arms. Which makes it easier to get up from.

Not much else to gab about this morning, so I'll end my "potty" talk.

Good Morning GIF
It's Tuesday, May 17th and it's
48F here in Pure Michigan! Brrrr. Sunny though.

Dave: You need to look into this gizmo. It's very sleek and you can still lift the toilet seat up and it's easy to clean around it. And it's adjustable for height. Shop around for price. Amazon seems to be a tad Pricer.

I'm still in my ROBE at 8:00 a.m. Just too chilly to get dressed. I see a Sweatshirt on me today! Good day to plant those flowers out front and finish up the 2 pots for the porch. But it will have to wait until it WARMS UP a tad.

I have NOTHING ELSE for you nice folks.

Wear your MASKS.........the numbers are rising fast everywhere. Later gang.

Isn't a bit too early to be putting in tomato plants, K2?. Around here, the general rule is not until Memorial Day and, considering how much the seasons have changed, even that might be too early.
Dermatologist only had to zap a few spots and I am good to go for six more months.

Second round of cribbage will be held tonight and I hope we will be as successful as we were last week. The season is 16 weeks long and will end August 30th with only the week of July 4th off. 10 teams so we will play some teams twice and others only once during the season.
Lounge where we play has TVs which, I am sure, will be tuned into the Celtics/Heat game tonight.

Good afternoon. I had a very good nights sleep. Have been reading emails this morning, and pulled a bunch of clothes out of the closet and bagged to take to Salvation Army tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I have an appt for new hearing aids and will take the bags after. No real plans for me today.

This afternoon I helped Bruce when he did trimming of two of the trees in the front. Came in once when he was looking for something and the temp was 98, which I can believe. So now we have a pile of branches for the claw truck to pick up.

I realized that the tote I bought is too big so it would have to be checked and I don't want that, so I ordered a rolling carry on, it is real cute with owls all over. Also ordered a few other things.

All have a great day.

Negc: You are so right about waiting until Memorial Day to plant ANYTHING, but I just couldn't wait this year. Had to do when I was up to it. It's only 13 days early isn't going to make it or break it. Ha Ha. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Got the 2 porch plants done and the flowers around the Spruce tree in front. Managed to have enough left over to fill in 2 spots closer to the porch area.

I'm still in awe of the PRICES for PLANTS this year. Even the cheaper places are expensive. I managed to find some Seed Potatoes with nice "eyes" growing out of them. Red and Yukon.

I still need to find 2 flats of IMPATIENT PLANTS.

Now I'm going to get the Almond Bar cookies packaged up to give to my friend Elaine at the Physical Therapy place.

Hope you're all having a good day. Temp now at 61F and SUNNY.

Hello Bunnies.
The “May 2-4” weekend is the traditional planting weekend here Kathie. Tony would have known about the “2-4” part. May 24th for Queen Victoria’s birthday (Born 1819) and slang for what a case (4 rows of 6 bottles) of beer is called.
How’s the fridge doing Dave?

it is real cute with owls all over.
Nice that you ”give a hoot” about the proper sized carry on Nancy.
Well, the TV BETTER be tuned into the Celtics game Bill.
Hoping all is well with Pat and Karen.
Well, that’s pretty much all I’ve got today.
A little more pickleball early tomorrow morning. May as well. It’s supposed to be cold (59F) and rainy here So we might just as well be indoors…
Have a good one folks.

Lee: Thanks for that lesson on May 2-4 is all about. Interesting.

I’ll be busy having my “Nuclear Medicine” stress test on Monday morning.
I’ve been drinking bottle after bottle of WATER all day. It helps when getting a LINE started in my arm for the test. Joy, Joy!
They even have me bringing a snack to eat and something to drink. Should be interesting.

Art doesn’t want to be OUT DONE and is have that troublesome tooth pulled!

I’ll get back to you lovely people later in the day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BB!

Another quiet day around here yesterday, as well as today. Good. I'm all in favor of calm over chaos.

Since it was sunny and dry yesterday the lawn crew was here. They were playing catch-up since it was so wet on Monday. And when they, 3 of them, arrived they moved the fastest I've ever seen. Were here less than half an hour to get all the mowing, trimming, and blowing done.

Today it's forecast to be dry until noon, when the rains begin. Fuzzbutt goes to the groomers at 8. And also this morning Kathi goes to the human groomers to get her hair back to its' "natural" color.

I may head outside and do some weeding and "Round-upping".

So far so good on the refrigerator working properly. Why it just shut down the other day is still a mystery.

So a 24 bottle case of beer is called a "2-4" in Canada, Lee?

Hoping all of you stay safe & healthy on this Wednesday.
