Not that much to gab about this morning.

Mission accomplished; Birdhouses delivered to "Danbury" yesterday and hung in various trees in 2 of their courtyards. A nice fella that worked there when Bud lived there helped the grandson hang them up. Such a nice place with top level employees. Never had any complaints about the place. Heck, it's like a fancy hotel. It may have been in the 20's, but the sun came out while they were hanging them.

His community service is now complete so he can be confirmed.

Art isn't the only one who uses shopping carts to lean on. Places to sit down in stores are few and far between.

This morning I need to hit the stationary bike for 1/2 an hour, then continue my painting of Franklin.

But for now, going back to bed for a while sounds more attractive.

Here's a song for you Bunnies to get stuck in your head for when you dance around the breakfast table.

Not much from The Burg this frosty morning.
We did NOT take the pups to the Navy Yard yesterday morning. It was just too danged cold. They got a walk around the block and seemed happy with the shorter one.
Now, talk about crazy...the day before there were three boats on the river and people fishing! We passed a couple of "the regulars" and commented how much "fun" that looked like! Or not...
Great tune Dave. Our friend Brian actually drove Weird Al’s equipment / merchandise truck from venue to venue a few years back. In spite of the on stage persona he said Al and his wife were really nice, down to earth folks. The sun coming out at Danbury…That was Bud smiling down on the new bird houses and their builders.
Sadly Kathie after 2+ years I think most people have had it with masking. If it’s not a law they just don’t mask up. Maybe you should buy a couple of tickets for that movie and anonymously drop them in The Newbie’s mailbox. Sounds like Art scored big time getting a kit for that price at the model show.
How’d the home visits go Pat? It was, and still is, not a day to eat outside here!
I had to Google those filters Nancy. Good news is they got pretty good reviews. Bad news is people who bought them from resellers, like Amazon, couldn’t get any warranty honoured (ya, Canadians put a “u” in lots of words) if they had an issue!
“Phone appointment” with the cardiologist today. He’s calling between 12 and 4. The last time we had this kind of call he called at 6:30. I think it’s time these guys started seeing patients in office again!
Any word on the vehicle transport Bill?
Enjoy your day everyone.

Quick good morning in between yawning. Getting ready to go see the cardiologist at his Celebration Hospital office. We're allowing enough time to get there with all the traffic in this area at rush hour. If all goes well, then we'll stop at Aldi's for some cheeses and imported from Germany Easter candy.

Dave - Glad the birdhouse project went well and loved that the sun came out while they were doing the hanging of the birdhouses.

Kathie - I like Lee's idea about buying tickets to that movie and sticking them in the priest's mailbox. Maybe he might take a hint.

Lee - That is just too cold up your way right now. Come on back to Florida! I'm glad I actually get to see the cardiologist in person. I don't like those video conferences. My visits yesterday with the therapist and the nurse all went well. The therapist plans to come back tomorrow again. Why knows who else may decide they want to abuse my body. Time will tell.

Time to run. It's just about time to hit the road. I'll be back later to let you know how I made out.

A late good morning. Did not get to sleep until 5 am but did sleep until 9. I was going to go to the grocery but am too tired so that will wait until tomorrow, nothing urgent to get.

Gave up on the pills for my hands as there was no improvement and actually now have more fingers swelling and hurting. So will be taking more Ibuprofen.

It is another warm day here.

All have a great day.

Back from the cardiologist. I got a good report and I don't have to see him again until June. Found out which cheeses I can and can't eat - only soft cheeses as the hard ones have too much sodium in them. Bummer!! I already knew I can't eat any dried sausage or spicy stuff on a charcuterie board. So goat cheese, brie and the like are my friend along with dips. fruits and veggies. Guess what I already planned for tonight ... a veggie tray and a charcuterie board!! Might have to dig a bit deeper on that one though.

After we finished with the cardiologist, we took the elevator down to the first floor and stopped by my primary's office. Even though I have a scheduled appointment nnext week, I wanted to push the appointment up as my big toe on my right foot has an infection in it. I thought we cleaned it all out last week, but now the toe is red and very sore. Gues I need to add an antibiotic to my list of pills to take. Fun, huh?

Time to think about lunch. I've had nothing to eat yet today and I really am getting hungry.

And this just in...
No, I mean literally just in the house! We wandered to the mail box and found an envelope all the way from Florida! Better than a post card. Thank You Bill. I'll call our bank later on to see if they have enough to cover $5.00 USD! :D
Glad to hear that the overall report was a good one Pat. When it comes to the thing we like vs what we should have I like to think "moderation".
That's bothersome Nancy. Please watch the swelling and don't let it get out of hand. OK, bad way to phrase it. We're hoping that it does get out of YOUR hand.
And the wait for the cardiologist to call is on...

Good afternoon....hard to feel chatty when you are aggravated...the search for a contractor continues...the park guy came by this morning to give us a price...we were not impressed...the first words out of his mouth was he couldn't get to the job for 2-3 weeks...when we told him that was a no-go he started back pedaling & saying well...he could work on Barb's in between waiting on material for another job in the park...ummm...No thanks...and he started out wanting $5,000 for the project...
We did call the DIY place & got the name of another guy who does bath remodels...Barb called him & he said he'd be glad to look at the project & give her a price..but couldn't pin down a day or time he could make it...I know that's going to be a problem...the good one's ARE going to be busy & hard to get ...
No worries...I'm not even thinking about taking on this project...waaaay beyond my skill level....will try to get back more often & be sociable!

My gosh Karen, sometimes I think that if it weren’t for bad luck with contractors you’d have no luck at all.
I know a crew of guys, OGC they’re called. Old Guy Contracting. Problem is they’re based here in The Burg.
Keep the faith young lady. It will all work out in the end. And if it hasn’t worked out yet that’s because it’s not the end. :)

Karen - That stinks with those you have run into already. The one that wanted $5,000 for the job reminsa me of the contractor G&L were working with. He put them off for almost a week and last night they had a video conference with him. He wanted to do some stuff they didn't want while cutting back on other stuff. Bottom line on what he wanted for what he intended to do was (I hoe you're sitting down) $350,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nedless to saw they told him good-bye. Now they are back to finding a contractor who will do the work for a reasonable price in a timely manner so we get our house back sometime this year.

Lee - Don't spend all that money in one place!

Funny thing happened at the cardiologist's office today. You all know Bert is hard of hearing. The cardiologist speaks softly with a slight Spanish accent. Well, Bert has been bugging me to ask how much wine I can have. He read somewhere that women should only have 1 drink a day. SO I asked the doctor for him. Doctor was not my friend! He said it's ok to have 1 or 2 glasses of wine a MONTH! Oh crap!!! Thankfully Bert didn't hear the part about MONTH and only heard 1 or 2 glasses of wine a DAY!!! I like his hearing much better. In my doctor's defense, he's a relatively young doctor and is still doing things by the book. He worries how wine would affect my meds. Well, heck, they've been doing fine since I came home, so I'll continue to have a glass or two of wine each day. It relieves my stress. ;)

Time now for some of that aforementioned stress relief!!! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

OOPS… THAT part posted twice. To be sure to be sure.
Cardiologist is switching out a couple of meds. Next August I get to wear a Holter Monitor for 3 days. Oh boy! He jokingly questioned my sanity at taking part in a 5K (3.1 miles) 9 months after the heart thingy. But he was happy that I felt good enough to do it!
Supposed to be, maybe, a bit of nasty winter weather tonight through tomorrow morning. If you Northern Bunnies are in the path stay extra safe.
Have a good evening!

OK, it's March so I get it. Our weather roller-coaster ride continues. It's at freezing at the moment, but by late this afternoon it'll be near 70.

There's been one unexpected consequence of the slapping on the Oscars. The comedian who got slapped has sold more tickets, since then, to his concerts than he had the whole month before that.

At least you haven't decided to do that bathroom remodel yourself, KC. Damn, the contractors in your area are so greedy and lacking in honest business practices. So in this mess, what is Barb doing about getting a shower?

Geesh BB, for $350,000 G & L could build a whole new house. I could have sworn that the doctor said you could have one bottle of wine a day.

Nice picture of you showing that giant check from Publishers Clearing House, Lee. Are you sure your cardiologist was joking when he questioned your sanity? I think this calls for a vote.

Ibuprofen Nancy? I use vodka.

Where were you yesterday, K2?

Grocery shopping day. We'll roll out for that at 9. A short grocery list this week.

Would somebody stop messing with the weather dial!
Ice pellets were hitting the bedroom window so hard around 3:00 am they woke me up. Everything is coated with ice…right now. By mid day we’re looking at the mid 50’s and the 60’s by dinner time.
Yes Dave, the last time Bill and I exchanged M&M’s was at Hutch-A-Doo at Pat and Bert’s. Back in the day I would have been scouring the Sears catalog to see what I could squander my winnings on. Have fun shopping. Hopefully they have everything on your list.
About “The Slap”… Wrong thing for ”The Slappee” to say and wrong reaction from “The Slapper“.
Ya Kathie, hopefully everything on your side of the river is OK. I can’t physically come check on you until Friday when the Covid testing restrictions to come back home are lifted.
Hanging blackout drapes in the bedroom is on the agenda here today.
You all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning, hutch mates! I will not say anything about the weather. I will not say anything about the weather, I have to repeat that to remind myself not to say anything about the weather!! ;)

Dave - Bert & I said the same thing about being able to build a new house for that kind of money. That's about what M&J's new house cost. I personally have not liked the whole deal, but it's not for me to say. The one who makes out like a bandit is Elaine's father. He gets a pile of money and then gets to continue to live in the house, get his meals, etc. without spending a dime. Wish I could find a deal like that!! Have fun grocery shopping this morning. I hope you find everything you were looking for.

Lee - Remind me next time we see you that I owe you a glass of Crazy Good. I'm sure I'll forget. Sounds like a rough night with ice balls hitting the windows. Did wake the dogs up or only the humans?

Karen - So how goes the quest to find a contractor? Did that DIY guy get in touch to set up a time and day?

Kathie - So where were you yesterday? Baking more cookies or picketing outside the priest's house for him to be more humble? Either would have been a good excuse.

So now, what's on tap for my day, you may ask. I have Home Health coming at 11. They I have nothing to do until it's time to get dinner started. Everyone wanted steak tonight, so Bert, our grill master will do his thing on some filet mignons while I get the potatoes in the oven to bake and then fry up some peppers, onions and mushrooms. Elaine's job is to make the salad. Gary & the boys get to clean up afterwards.

And that, boys and girls, is all I have for this morning. Have a wonderful hump day!

Kathie -

Good afternoon from Breezy Belleview!!

Kathie, hope everything is ok with you in Pure Michigan...not like you to miss a day posting...

Dave, Kathie & your grandson did an awesome job on those birdhouses...I'm sure the residents at Danbury will enjoy them for years to come...and Congrats on FINALLY getting the full refund from Royal for the cancelled cruises...

Pat, wholly CRAP....$350,000 for a remodel...would G&E like to adopt me??? Your dinner sounds wonderful...I could really go for a good steak & baked potato...guess I'll have to settle for the pork chop I took out of the freezer instead...

Lee, sorry to hear your weather is such a roller coaster lately...all in al was the cardiologist pleased with your progress?

Nancy, sorry the pills were not helping your hands...do they know what the problem is or are they just tossing medicine at it to see if anything helps?

Bill, tick-tock...your time in Florida is coming to a close....I'm sure you & Rita are looking forward to getting home & being with family & friends again...

Well...finger's crossed...the search for a contractor "MAY" be over....on Tues. we had called Southern Plumbing where I used to work to talk with my boss Frank Ed to see if he knew any small contractor company's that might do bathroom remodels...turns out his brother had started his own business a few years ago....he doesn't usually work on mobile homes but since he's known Barb for quite a few years he said he would try to help her out....he's going to come by either tonite or tomorrow to look at the job....if by chance he decides not to do the project he said he knows a couple other people who do construction that he would trust & he would put us in touch with them....I'm trying not to get my hopes up to much...but if he does take on the job I know he will do a great job and for a fair price...

Good things come to those who wait Karen. Fingers crossed Frank’s brother is the “good thing”. Yes, the cardiologist was pleased overall. So, can Dave add your vote to the “sane” or “insane“ category?
We took the pups to The Navy Yard this morning. I looked across The River but didn’t see Kathie. I even waved. If we head back this afternoon I’ll look again.

A little crazy is a good thing sometimes...so I'll go with insane...
And yes, I have every confidence in Frank's brother Wes....if he takes on the project my worries will be over...the whole family is amazing...his Dad used to be the Pastor at the church I went to years ago....and his BIL and his crew re-did the siding & the roof on Jane's house over 11 yrs ago...and charged less for the whole project than most people wanted just to do the roof..

Kathie from Pure Michigan.... posted to Karen on Sat 3-26-22: Can your former Plumbing Company guys make any suggestions? :emoticon 0115 inlove:

Well, I sure hope that FRANK comes through for Barb and for you. Got my fingers crossed this will work out!

I don't know where YESTERDAY went to. Must have just passed me by. I was busy doing paperwork at one point, then helping my choir friend by grinding walnuts for her in my food processor and then made dinner and the day just passed me by! I'm doing just FINE. Thanks for all the concern!

Lots of chatter in 1 day. Geez, I can't keep up.

Got my hair cut this morning. Worried about the freeway being icy, but IT WAS FINE. Darn weatherman scared me big time. I just couldn't miss my hair appointment because of weather! Ha Ha. Just kept getting warmer all day. Might get RAIN on THURSDAY & WIND.

Bill: I'm thinking you're feeling the BLUES right about now. I know I always get SAD when the last few days of our vacation use to come around. Hope your packing is coming along. SAFE TRIP to you, Rita and Kevin.

LEE: The border patrol called our house and said there was somebody WAVING his arms off and screaming my name across the RIVER. WAS THAT YOU?? Darn I'm sorry I missed you.
As soon as it warms up and the flowers start to POP OPEN at the NAVY PARK we'll have to meet you there one day for brunch or lunch or something.

Art and I can't wait to get our NEXT BOOSTER! Yup, I'm big on getting anything they're handing out. I don't want to get that new variant Covid, B-A-2. It might not put you in the hospital, but I don't want to even get a LITTLE SICK.

Out of here for tonight. Be good and see you on Thursday!

Good evening. I had a busy day today. I slept until 9 and a bit after 10 was out the door. First stop was Salvation Army and dropped 3 bags, then the hairdresser and got the hair cut and mad an appointment for next cut. Then it was to Aldi, then the fruit/veggie stand and finally Publix. I did not get home until 2 and finally had lunch.

Dave, I tries and the vodka did not help the fingers. The ibuprofen tablets are working, or course I am taking 800 mg at a time but only twice a day.

Karen, they are trying without actually knowing what the problem is. As long as I can get the swelling gone and it does not come back I will keep my appt for May, if it comes back I will see if I can get in earlier.

All have a good night.
