Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Thanks for explaining the Honor Flight, BB. You described it much better than I could have. Rich enjoyed the trip, especially since his son, Brian, and a fellow member of his VFW post and his son, accompanied him.
As far as Mark Greaney's books go, I have read and enjoyed his Gray Man Series and the more recent Sierra Six books. He also took over the Tom Clancy books, after Clancy died.
Dinner at New England Eatery and Pub in Melbourne was excellent and the fact that Phil drove made it even more enjoyable.
Looks like the afternoon will be filled with showers but the heaviest storms are due in counties south of us.
Nothing heroic about having the surgery while we are here on vacation, K2. Making the surgery wait until we got home would only have prolonged the wait and the local hospital and surgical staff are first rate. I was impressed with how well we were treated by everyone we came into contact with while we were there. Among the papers we took home with us when we left after the surgery was a card signed by some of the hospital staff we dealt with, wishing me a speedy recovery. Certainly a good PR move but still a nice personal touch.

Good soggy afternoon! No mowing Jane's yard today...or tomorrow will try again Sat. after things have a chance to dry out...

Dave, bummer about Kathi's car deciding to quit running..glad you at least didn't have a towing bill on top of the dealer charge.

Kathie, good idea getting in to see the Dr. when you weren't feeling quite right...hopefully they can figure out the problem and correct it pretty quickly!

Lee, everything ok in the burg? Surprising not to see a post from you by this time of day...

Pat, your raised herb garden looks great! I'd like to do something similar on my patio area...but it get's so stinkin hot out there durning the summer I'd end up with dried herbs instead of fresh...

Bill, good to hear the Dr. is pleased with your recovery progress...not being able to drive would definitely be a downer for me!

Nancy, sorry about your rough night sleeping...today is good sleeping weather...maybe you can catch a quick nap...

Since I couldn't go to Jane's today I've been busy doing some spring cleaning around here...moving furniture & cleaning under things that normally don't get cleaned under...I still need to sweep & mop the kitchen & great room but have run out of steam at the moment...I may do it later...or I may do it tomorrow...
Still no invoice from the contractor...found out yesterday he didn't Kool Coat the whole roof of Barb's mobile home like he was supposed to...he did about 3/4 of it....and I don't think he did a really good job on that part either...I bought 2- 5 gal. buckets of the coating & he only used half of 1 bucket...no where near the amount he should have used...luckily she has a guy in her park who said he would finish the job for her & not charge her an arm & a leg...

Yeah, Lee - Where are you hiding today? Definitely not like you to not check in with your cyber family.

Karen - We haven't had much rain yet, but we have a very dark cloud starting to fill the area right now. I see a storm on the horizon.

Missy called earlier to talk her father into a trip to Sam's and Restaurant Depot. Good call. I had already told Bert that we needed a case of wine and I wanted one of their roasted chickens to cut up for a pot pie or for soup.

And the rains have come!!

Bill - Not sure how many of the books by Greaney that Bert has read. He's been checking out a few new authors recently, but I haven't been checking who some of them might be.

I think the TV is calling me right now. I recorded Good Sam last night, so I think it's time for me to watch it.

What do they say about best made plans? I had just barely posted the above when along came Gary from his & Missy's shopping trip. They got everything I wanted and it's a good thing I had them pick up one of Sam's roasted chickens because apparently, the whole gang will be here tonight to eat the chicken and the leftovers from the past 2 nights. We will definitely be cleaning out the refrigerator tonight.

On Saturday M&J are having one of their famous seafood boils at their house. They have 30 lbs (yes, you read that right 30 lbs) of crawfish and 10 dozen blue crabs ordered to be delivered on Saturday. Missy bought a case of fresh corn, plus who knows what all else. We will miss part of this as we have the wine pairing the same night. Talk about feast or famine. I do hope they save some of for us. The wine pairing is from 6 to 8. If we drink fast, maybe we can get out of their sooner. Of course, if we taste any wines that we especially like, we'll buy a bottle or two for future use. ;)

Maybe now I can go watch my TV program.

Good evening!
I got my Monitor taped on my chest. It’s slightly improved from the last one I had 2 yrs ago. Much easier to figure out. Of course, so far no
“light-headiness” all day. Maybe I scared my system by going into the Doc’s and getting checked out. Oh well 7 days of this is no big deal.

BB: Sounds like a HUGE BOIL will be going on over at M&J’s On Sat.

Karen: If that low-life handyman actually gives you a bill for his inadequate services I would only give him HALF because he never finished the ROOF.
I’m not sure I’d even give him that much. I feel bad for you girls.

I just got through balancing the checkbook. For once it only took me about 5 mins. Everything worked out good.

Lee: Hope you’re just taking a day off. Hope all is okay with your doc reports. Take care buddy.

Out of here to watch the “other” Michigan college playing against Villanova in the Sweet Sixteen March Playoffs. I learned that Villanova charges students $75,000 a year to go to their elite college. Wow! Too rich for my blood.

FYI: My dear SIL that just passed away ….well her sister that was in the hospital and touch and go was transferred to the Hospital REHAB to get her strength back and speech. So goad she’s improved that much in a week.

Later gang.

Good Friday morning, Bunnies!

Showers start around 11 this morning and lasting throughout the day. High temperature only in the mid 40's.

Good choice K2 in laying down through your stress test and letting them inject drugs into you to get your heart rate up. In recent years, that's the only way I do it.

In answer to your question BB; My new cell phone will be the exact same phone I have now. It's a cheap, basic, simple, "Jitterbug" flip phone. You can make and receive calls, text, people can leave messages, and take pictures. All I ever use it for is for making and receiving calls. It's all I need. Unless I'm out of the house it's usually turned off. In no sense of the word is it a smart phone. Simple is better, in my book.

Since you are a big book reader Bill, I just got a new book. It's by Brad Meltzer called "The Lightening Rod". Just published this year. Have you read it, and if so, is it any good?

Good thing Barb has a neighbor who's willing to finish kool-coating her roof, KC. Now all she needs is a good contractor in her park.

Since it's going to be a soggy day my only goals are to hit the bike that goes nowhere and do some more painting on "Franklin". Starting off with his eyes this morning. Heck, he then will be able to watch and see what progress is being made on him.

Well now I have no idea whatsoever where my morning post went yesterday.
I don’t think I said anything that would have seen me sent to the principal!
It sure gave me lots to reread though. And that made it fun too.
Down at The Navy Yard everyone was asking what happened to Spring. Even though the temperature said about 50F, the wind chill said just around 40F. I’m was neat to see how much the daffodils had poked their heads up since the day before.
Good the repair wasn’t a whole lot of money Dave. You need to find “point of view” bike rides on YouTube so you can peddle along to all sorts of neat places.
That’s one whack of food Missy and Jimmy are getting ready for Saturday Pat. Anything at all left in your fridge?
Nice they gave you a card Bill. Did they put money in it too? Ya, I didn’t think so.
Well Karen, the contractor may have been a slug but hats off to the neighbour to be willing to finish the job. Properly. I hate pulling stuff out to clean under it. But I do wonder where some of the stuff we find comes from!
I hate it when I go to sleep and wake up two hours, or less, later Nancy. And it always feels like I’ve been asleep for hours.
Kathie, that is great news about your SiL’s Sister. We’ll all hope she’s well on the road to recovery! The ABurg guys are in the early planning stages to head over to Belle Isle on June 3 for the free day at the Detroit Indy Car event.

It’s drizzling here this morning so I don’t know if the pups will get a morning walk or not. That’s when the fenced back yard is nice.
Anyway, you all have a fantastic Friday.
Let’s see if I remember to hit the “post reply” button now…

Good Friday morning, everyone! I hope your day is off to a fantastic start. Right now things are quiet here. Gary is working on his computer at the table next to me. That only becomes a pain when he's on a conference call with his coworkers and the call lasts for over an hour. He ends up having to take the computer into the dining room, if Bert and I start talking!

Not too much planned for today. I do know Bert is going to take Missy to BJ's to pick up a big bag of lemons. She forgot to get them yesterday. I'll probably take the ride with them just to get out of the house. I think the library will be calling to let me know that they got in the new Janet Evanovich that I reserved. This is a new series for her, so I'm eager to see if I'll like it.

Lee - I forget to hit the post reply often and end up seeing that it's still sitting in the same spot I left it hours before. Sorry you lost your post from yesterday without realizing it. A soggy day is no fun for anyone, human or dog, is it?

Dave - A phone like you have is what Bert needs. I don't think Consumer Cellular has any these days. I really should go and check. He'd use it at the same time as you. Heck, the only time my phone goes on is when we're out too. Just not that into cell phones and their use. Missy uses her I-Phone as her computer and can do anything and everything on it that takes me having a regular computer. Ah, the new generation!!!

Time for a cup of tea and to ready the morning newspaper. I'll be back later.

Good Morning Reaction GIF
It’s FRIDAY! Use to be a big deal when I worked! Now everyday is Friday! And at times I have to look at the calendar to make sure I have that right! Ha ha. The joys of getting old.

BB: Well ain’t that sweet…..you, Bert and Missy going on a run for Lemons together. It’s a BONDING moment!

Lee: Good to know you’re perfectly fine and just forgot to press the POST button. And I can just imagine how CHILLY it is by the Water’s Edge the last few days. Not a SHORTS type of day. You and Lu-Ann need to move your Winter vacation to be in Florida Feb, March & half of April so when you get home it’s closer to being nice. Ideally, Feb, March and all of April would give you the best of Florida and you’d come home to almost decent weather. We all know that MAY can be screwy too.

It’s suppose to snow on Saturday! I bet it will be a wet snow and almost melt as it lands on the grass and sidewalks.

I really don’t have much to chat about right now. The monitor is still intact!
Still feeling good and not Light Headed. Go figure, a visit to have a EKG and your body SHAPES RIGHT UP! Ha ha.

I should run out to get milk and a out 5 items on my list, but it can wait.
I made us Crepes this morning and filked them with my home canned Peaches from last Fall. Wow, amazing flavor in those peaches.

Have a good day all and think of the dear folks in Ukraine.

Just saw all the MIS-Spelled words in my post. Ha ha. But I know we all are use to figuring out what the words really should be. :p
Dishes are done from my Crepe project and now I am going to go CLEAN OUT MY nightstand drawer. Sometimes way too much junk gets tossed in there. I don’t think they should have drawers on nightstands! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Good afternoon. Well last night was better, still woke after a couple of hours and it was at least an hour before falling back to sleep but then only woke one more time and was able to get right back to sleep. I wish I felt refreshed when I wake after a couple of hours but don't.

Took the first pill this morning for my hands as they say it is best to take it in the morning. Hope it decided to work.

It is a cool day today. Temp is up to 75 now but it is windy so can't have both front and back open all the way.

My plan today is to finish my report on our cruise on the Sillhouette, hope I can get it done. I did not take good notes so have to put the dailies in order to finish as when I look at each day I can figure what we did. And this afternoon will watch practice and if any qualifying for all the NASCAR series, they are at Circuit of the Americas, which last year the races there were good.

All have a great day.

Nancy is right about it being a cooler day here today. We too are at 75, but the wind isn't too bad. May still go out on the lanai for a little while.

We did our run to BJ's and also a stop at Kohl's where Bert picked up the rest of M&J's house warming gift - everyday dishes. The ones she has had all these years was a set from the supermarket where if you spent a certain amount, you got a dish. Bert's mother put that set together for her while she was still in high school! She and Jimmy are getting ready to celebrate their 29th anniversary, so that tells you the tale of those dishes, chips and what's left of them. Time for a new set and we were happy to get them for their family.

Bert's now off to the library, Walgreens and Publix. He's picking up the rest of our dinner tonight. It's time for some typical New Jersey diner food ... fried shrimp sandwiches on toast with sweet coleslaw. I haven't made them in a while and our family loves them. Not sure about Elaine's family. If they don't like it, then they can have other leftovers or a salad. My menu is fixed for tonight!

Kathie - Your crapes sound so delicious. I still have peaches in the freezer that I keep forgetting to get out. Before we know it, it will be time for the peach truck to come around once again with 25 more pounds of peaches. Better use u what we have first.

G’nite everyone. Sleep tight and don’t let the bugs bite.
OK, who came up with that line to tell little kids at bed time! Geez…

K2-Mich

Wacky Wabbit
Lee: We use to say that "saying" at night when I was little. And then another one that never made much sense to a young child was:
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my Soul to keep
If I should die before I 'wake,
I pray the Lord my Soul to take.

I much preferred the Bed Bugs one! At least your chances of still being around were much better! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

It's started to "MIST" outside. Hope it stays away from turning to snow.

Saturday already?

Nice to see that you are alive and well, Lee. Just another victim of the cyber gremlins.

I'm with you BB on how cell phones can be an annoyance. Kathi's is going off all the time. It's as if her friends and family need to broadcast every little lame idea that comes into their mind. I figure that if it isn't worth a normal phone call or E-mail, don't bother me with it.

A hint K2; Check your spelling BEFORE you hit send. Oh yea, any word yet on what you are doing with your car whose lease is running out?

75 degrees, Nancy? I get chilled just thinking about it.
1f628.png

Today is a birdhouse making day, here. One of the grandkids has to do so many hours of community service to get communion at his Catholic church. He's a teenager with autism. Kathi came up with the idea that he could put together and paint 5 birdhouses, and then give them to the assisted living room place that Kathi's Dad was at.

The church approved that idea, and Danbury appreciates receiving them. So the plan is to put them together and painted today and tomorrow, and Monday take them out to Danbury.

Time again to put some more dents and paint on our dining room table.

The snow is in the forecast! Not a lot but the word is there!
No cyber gremlins Dave. Just a forgetful old fart who clearly didn’t hit “send”. What a great way for the grandson to complete his community service and bring smiles to the folks at Danbury.
Ya Kathie, I really wondered about that prayer as a child too. No wonder kids said their prayers but wouldn’t go to sleep! Seriously, if I don’t die before I wake, if the bugs don’t get me, if the ever present monster under the bed didn’t get me I could have a good nights sleep. You might as well read me a Grimm’s fairy tale too. We moved our eight weeks in FL ahead by a week so we’d be headed home when the spring break groups really started in invade The Belle’s state.

fried shrimp sandwiches on toast with sweet coleslaw.
And what is not to like about that meal Pat? Are the shrimp just fried up in a little butter (or fake butter) or are they battered and fried. At any rate, how did dinner work out for everyone?
”Only 75” Nancy. Really? I fear for a few more weeks the only 75 we‘ll see is if we cross into MI and get on I75. COTA is a great track for all kinds of motor sports events.
How goes “The Quest for Contractors” Karen. I still shake my head at how unreliable they all seem to be in your neck of the woods.
Has the packing begun yet Bill? I reckon with all of the packing you and Rita do that’s something that starts the afternoon before your departure date.
Anyway, so starts another day. What it will bring I don’t know. But it will start with feeding Katie and Ava, coffee for us and I’m sure a quick walk in the park.
Have a good day day everyone.

Quick good morning while I try to get enough coffee in me to wake up & go mow Jane's yard...one of those can't shut it down nights last night...
Last nights contractor was a no-show....he was supposed to be at Barb's "around" 6 pm but said he would call me when he was on the way....7pm rolled around and no call...so I messaged him....he told me he was "working atm" )at the moment) for those who don't speak text talk....then said it would be quite late when he could get there did I want to reschedule for Monday morning...I told him no thanks...just cancel the appointment...I had told him before Barb worked from home & wasn't available during the day before 3:30...next up is the Park guy tomorrow...I'm also going to check with a place here in Ocala called DIY...they sell building materials for homes/mobile homes & may have an idea of someone to contact...we bought Barb's living room carpet there years ago & at that time they had a list of carpet installers they recommend...hopefully they have one for contractors too...and now it's time to get dressed & get moving

Good morning. Well sleep last night was not bad but not great. This constantly waking up is getting very old.

Yeah 75 is not a bad temp but when you have strong wind with it it feels more like 70 or less. It was 55 when I woke and now only 60 and windy again.

Will be watching the racing at COTA today, starting in a hour with Cup practice and qualifying then trucks race then Xfinity race.

Called yesterday about getting a load of rock for the drive today but not sure if we will get it or not, as Orrie was not sure about his schedule for today and he was driving when I called.

As of today we no longer get a real newspaper on Saturday only E Edition, so I tried it this morning and I got a different cities paper and not ours. So I sent them and email to complain.

All have a great day.
