Happy birthday, Karen. Enjoy your meal at Cheddar's. Rita and I went to the one in Melbourne yesterday and had a very good meal. We have liked this chain since Bert and Pat introduced us to it a few years back. Only wish they would expand operations into our area back home.
Needed to get gas yesterday and decided to go to the station that was advertising a price of $3.97. When we got there we saw that the pumps were all blocked off and apparently they were out of
gasoline, so we ended up at a nearby station where the credit price was $4.29. Since we saw other stations a bit farther away that were charging $3.99 we only got enough to get us home and will go back to one of those stations to fill the tank today or tomorrow. Back home, our favorite gas station has dropped its price to $3.91 a gallon.
We still have almost TWO whole weeks before we head home so we will enjoy this weather as long as we can.
I see the surgeon for my post-op visit on Tuesday and hope that once all the current restrictions are removed things will be back to nearly normal.
Nothing special on the agenda today but have a good one.

Bill: Seems like prices have leveled off here in our area of Michigan this past week.
Costco still the CHEAPEST at $3.99 a gal. I just top my tank off if I'm on the road when I see a decent price. The SHOCK of filling up a EMPTY tank would most likely send me to the ER right away. LOL

DAVE: OHIO vs Villanova 2:40 pm.

Michigan State vs DUKE at 5:15 pm. I don't think MSU has a chance, but they have upset them in regular games this year, so we'll just have to CHEER LOUD!

I must say that I feel much better so far today than I did yesterday. Something was just TOTALLY wrong. I managed to clean the bathrooms, make dinner, etc, but yikes I thought at times I was going to be in the ER room. Blood pressure was REALLY LOW and I just don't know why. Today, SO FAR all is normal. (well as normal as it can be for me) Tony I know you were thinking that so I said it first. Do you think any other group talks to the folks that have "passed" like we do?? Hey, it works for me.
And YES, I'll call the Cardio Dr if this happens again this week. Nobody does crap for you on weekends! :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

Off to get ready to watch the OHIO Basketball game.

The huge pan of corned beef hash I made has been deemed a total success. Berst part is that the boys were not here, so we have an oval bowl filled with the leftovers for later or tomorrow. Now we just need to get some more eggs to fry and put over the hash. I had to laugh. That was the first time Elaine had ever had hash and now she wants to know how to make it. I find it funny that I am teaching her to make so many new things that she never heard of before.

G&E are off on a quest. I remember each year during Lent Entenmann's used to make the most delicious hot cross buns, but for some reason stopped making them. Anyone else like hot cross buns? Elaine decided that if they can't find any, she's going to make a batch this afternoon. Good for her. I have a recipe too, but my day in the kitchen is over.

Bill - I don't think we've been back to Cheddar's since that time we went with you and Rita. We really do need to get back there again real soon, as we did enjoy it there. Maybe one night this week when G&E are back meeting with contractors and we're the only ones home. That would be either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Kathie - So glad to hear that you are feeling better today. It's definitely no fun when your butt is dragging and you really don't know why. Good idea calling your cardiologist to get checked out. Tomorrow I see my pulmonologist for the first time since last time in the hospital. I'm sure this isn't going to be an in and out visit like normal. I'll have so much to go over with him. I also plan to tell him about the terrible care at that other hospital, even though they are part of the same system.

Nancy - I've only seen one coral snake since we moved to Florida 38 years ago and that was within the first month in Ocala. Since then we've seen rattlers and in t his area we've seen water moccasins with the lake so close. I get mad when Bert leaves the front door open when he is getting stuff out of the car or going to the mail box. It's so easy for a snake to slip in. Heck, we had a 3 foot rat snake in our house in Ocala for at least 5 days before Laurie spotted it and removed it. Both the dog & cat never saw it!!

Bert's getting ready to abandon me also to do some running around. I'm not going with him this time, as I'm hoping for a phone call from my SIL. We've been playing phone tag the past two days. It's going to be hard enough to talk to her this week, but she wants to let me know when she and some of the family will be in Florida in April. I'm thinking spring break and that's the week after Easter in NJ, but I want to make sure. There's another part of the family, my god daughter, that I want to mend some fences with. All this fence mending, which is soooo Irish, is wearing me out, but I am feeling better doing it!

Time now for a glass of wine and enjoy the quiet in the house right now before everyone gets back by 6:00. Later, gang!!

BB: I made Art "Corned Beef Hash" w/eggs on top and even did some extra Hash Brown potatoes for him. He loved it. I'm not a fan of HASH, so I passed. Sounds like yours turned out perfect.

DAVE: Sorry for OHIO's loss to Villanova. 71-61 still not a bad score.

Our Michigan State Spartans played their hearts out and even got ahead on DUKE, but lost in the end. Duke 85 - MSU 76. Still not shabby since Duke was favored to win.

Okay, this kid is going to check out of here early. Nite all.

I heard (through the Serbian grapevine) that church meeting was 3.5 hours long. They haven't had one in 2 years since Covid hit. Had a lot to cover. SURE GLAD I PASSED ON GOING TODAY! I owe the BIG GUY in heaven for saving me today! :emoticon 0115 inlove:

Good Moan-Day morning, Bunnies!

Being a dictator has its' perks, Lee. Putin can't afford to give up his power, which is why he lies to the Russian people and jails or kills them if they disagree with him, and continues to kill and displace people in Ukraine. He is addicted to wielding power.

Did you get your Salmon, KC? My, My, your contractor may turn out to be a good guy after all.

I was up at 4:51 yesterday morning because of the dog. Fuzzbutt wanted breakfast and to go out, BB. When she came back in, back to bed I went. So good of you to make the effort to mend some fences.

I'm with you Nancy, I want no part of snakes. No matter what kind it is.

And now to our Serbian sinner.

Around here, the Ma Bell is Kathi's hairdresser. And yes, yesterday I did walk out to the end of the driveway. (To take the trash to the curb.)

Glad to hear again that you are recovering nicely from your operation, Bill.

Only goal I have today is hit the treadmill for 30 minutes, and then continue my work on "Franklin". Cleaning him up, painting him, and weather coating him is a real pain. It's all detail-work. Heck, when I paint him I can only use artist brushes.

I thought we could start the “work” week with a little old Jim Stafford tune.
That one’s for you and Bruce Nancy.
It sounds like you still have a lot of finicky detail work to go on Franklin there Dave. Good for you taking a walk, even to the end of the driveway. Every step matters.
Ma Bell. “She”, Bell Telephone, was our telephone company for many years. Then she reached across Canada and became Bell Canada. Original, eh? Now a major player in phone, mobile phones, tv and internet she’s become Bell Media.
I bet there’s a lot of parishioners thinking you were the smart one to stay home Kathie. Lu-Ann likes corned beef and cabbage but isn’t a fan of hash. Why? Goes back to when she was a kid and canned corned beef hash was something her family ate.
Funny how some folks, like Elaine, have never had some of the dishes you regularly prepare Pat. Is it regional do you think? I remember you and Bert telling us about the black snake you had under the porch in Ocala. He so calmly explained the difference between the poisonous one and other one (that you had) was the shape of the head. Like I’d ever get close enough to give it a look!
And who can forget Marcia telling us about the sherif calling her about gunshots coming from Aunt Willy’s place. When Marcia arrived Aunt Willy was shooting snakes at the end of her driveway. Never a dull moment or a dull Aunt Willy story!
Hopefully another couple of weeks will get you and Rita past the end of winter weather Bill. The guessers are calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow here towards the end of next week.
I think we need progress photos on the reno Karen.
I best think about getting breakfast for the pups. Being in the mid 30’sF it may be cold down by the Navy Yard this morning. A lot will depend on the breeze.
Have a great day everyone. As always keep the people of The Ukraine in your thoughts and prayers.

Good morning, everyone! Another picture perfect day here in the old neighborhood. A wonderful day to have to waste the major part of the early afternoon driving to and from the doctor's office and adding in the time spent in the office. UGH!!

Lee - As a high school senior, I worked for Ma Bell. I was a long distance operator back in the day when they had those huge walls of switchboards. That was my first job!
And for the record, the easiest way to tell the difference between a poisonous and non-poisonous snake is the shape of their head. Poisonous snakes have triangular shaped heads. Remember that as it will be on the test later!!
I don't blame Lu-Ann for not liking that canned corned beef hash. I once tried it and threw it all in the garbage. To me it tasted and smelled like dog food! Never canned again. I thought we would have some hash for breakfast this morning, Wrong!! The boys came home last night and ate it all, as well as any other leftovers in the refrigerator!!

Dave - Can't wait to see a picture of Franklin when his beautification is complete. Good for you walking to the end of the driveway. Exactly how far is that anyway? Just curious. Our driveway is less than the length of 2 cars, but you'd never know it the way they all manage to get their cars into the driveway at times!

Kathie - Sounds like you make a good call not going to that meeting at church yesterday. Good for you! Sorry your team lost to Duke, but Duke has been a powerhouse for many years.

No matter how I try to plan things out, something always messes up those plans. I defrosted a small loin of pork to make for dinner tonight figuring some of our boarders would surely be missing. Come to find out that they'll all be here. Now what do I do??? I am so flexible when it comes to things like feeding the masses, so I am going to have Bert cut the loin into boneless pork chops. Depending on how many that turns out to be, I'll take out some bone in pork chops from the freezer and bake them all. People will get to pick their favorite kind!! Am I good or what? Don't answer that!! LOL

Time to get Bert out of bed and get his day started! Have a good one, stay safe and keep those prayers coming for Ukraine.

Just one of our Cousin Wrabbits wishing us a Good Mid-Morning.

BB: When you say the boys came home and raided the refrigerator those are Elaine's 2 boys right? And she has another older son - right? I take it Gary's son lives with the MOM?? Can't keep track of everyone lately.
Your idea of the pork turning into pork chops is a good one. What you should do is "pound" the ones that were part of the pork loin to make them seem BIGGER and that way that crew of yours will think they're eating more! Ha Ha

Lee: You never disappoint with your video songs! I never heard of Jim Stafford! I listened long enough to hear the part about a snake and had to tune him out. Whew!

DAVE: I really think that FuzzButt needs to get the morning breakfast and going out REPROGRAMED. That's an early wake up call. Good thing you can crawl back into bed and get a few more winks of sleep.

Art had an early 9:30 am appt with his hearing Audiologist this morning. He had a little piece of his wire on the hearing aid that was detached from where it was supposed to be. Nice gal replaced the wire on both "aids" and gave us the good news that it was covered by the manufacturer. Praise the Lord! We did have to pay an office visit, but we knew about that. She mentioned that the next set of hearing aids would be the RE-Chargeable kind. They're eliminating the battery kind. ALWAYS SOMETHING!

The rest of you Wrabbits be good and come by and tell us about your day.
Since I really didn't get much sleep last night I'm going to make myself a Hot Ovaltine and try and get a nap. Ha Ha..... like that will really happen.
If I lived closer to you DAVE I could have let Fuzzbutt out much earlier than you did. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Good afternoon. Went grocery shopping this morning. At Walmart I bought me 4 Easter Cactuses, at Publix I bought some meat that they had on sale. When I got home I stopped in front of the driveway and unloaded then parked the SUV across the street.

Here is a photo of phase 2, which I will say woke me this morning: phase 2.jpg
ready for phase 3 to happen. And here is phase 3, forming for the concrete:close up of phase 3.jpg

Had a great visit with my pulmonologist. I don't need to see him again for 3 months, as long as I stay healthy. Just have to have Bert drop in once in a while to get me some **FREE** meds every month. Life is good.

Now it's time for me to vent!! I am trying to stay stress free as much as possible. We had M&J living with us for over 4 months and had no problems with ants. Now suddenly we are having trouble with sugar ants, no matter how much Bert sprays. If you are not familiar with sugar ants, they are very tiny, about the size of a gran of sugar. They do not go into the sugar bowl and such, but it's murder to get rid of them. Elaine complained last night about these ants and put a box of donuts in the refrigerator because of the ants. I had Bert go around inside and outside today spraying like he always does in the hope that we can get rid of the ants.
Now here's what has my BP going up ... Poor Gary told Elaine that he needed something to eat, so she fixed a big plate of veggies with hummus for him to munch on until dinner. So what did she do with this big plate you might ask? SHE BROUGHT IT INTO THEIR BEDROOM for them to eat!!! This is something that we never do and never let anyone else bring food into the bedrooms. They also have all sorts of snacks in there that they are stockpiling for themselves. I am furious!!!!! She said that Gary would be bringing it right out. Well, that was half an hour ago. This was all getting done while Bert & I were prepping things for our delicious dinner.

I need a glass of wine and to go outside to bring my BP back down. NOW!!!

Pat, I think it's time to let a little "jersey" out on G&E....they just seem to have no respect for you & Bert at all....I say lay down the law and if they don't like the new rules they can find another place to live...you don't need the added stress as sick as you've been lately!!

Lee, I'd be glad to post some progress photo's of the reno...If only there'd been some progress...I may be the next person to go "jersey". The guy is supposed to be heading to Barb's now, after picking up material at Lowes....when or if he will actually show up is the $1 million dollar question...Another cool little ditty you picked for us this morning

Kathie, sorry you didn't get a good nights sleep...must be something in the air...I woke up at 1 am and took a couple hours to fall back asleep, it didn't help any that I had to get up at 6:30 and be at the lab for bloodwork by 8 am....I see an early turn in tonite..

Dave, steps is steps whether they are on the treadmill or your driveway...main thing is to keep moving...did all of the refund for the cruise ever show up?

Nancy, Nope...no snake duty for me either...I won't kill a snake in my yard...but once it crosses into my porch or my garage it's a goner!!

Had a nice birthday with the family yesterday...food at Cheddars was good...service not so much.. they seemed to be short handed and even before our waitress got over whelmed with other tables she just didn't seem to be in a very good mood...silver ware & straws were basically "thrown" on the table instead of handed to each person..and from there on it just continued to unravel...luckily for us we tend to make our own good time..
Another busy day ahead tomorrow...dr. appt. in the morning, birthday lunch with my friends & then the potluck dinner in the evening...and I still haven't decided what I am going to make for that...right now Jello sounds easy...

Hi gang!
BB: I must say that I’d rather have a MOUSE in the house than ANTS! We had them in our 1st house and it tools YEARS to get rid of them.

The G&E moochers need to get EVICTED! I wonder how much food the boys have hoarded in their rooms?
Follow the Ants and they’ll show you just where their stash is. Your family is really HARD ON YOU & Bert. Just not right.

Nancy;
Great pictures and progress on the driveway. So, did you just park the autos on the grass up until now? You guys are going to be styling soon!

Karen:
Sounds like you had a really nice Birthday. Nice to have sisters to help celebrate. Bummer on the contractor being so slow on the shower job! They promise you everything and it never fails they screw up. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Well, I ended up firing the contractor...at 6 o'clock he messaged both Barb & I that he was loading material & heading to her place....at nearly 8pm he finally shows up expecting to work a couple hours...he had nearly $500 worth of material on his truck that I had paid for, so I told Barb to let him get everything unloaded & then have him call me...he called about 8:30 and I just told him to get me an invoice for the work he had done so far & I would get him a check on Wed. this just wasn't working out....he said ok...picked up the rest of his tools & left....I feel horrible for Barb with a torn up bathroom...but the guy just had one excuse after another for not showing up when he said he would...he knew this was Barb's only bathroom with a shower & that it needed to be done in a timely fashion....now we are back to finding someone to finish the job...arrrrgggghhh!!!

Good Tuesday morning, Wabbits!

And finally the day Kathi has been looking forward to for a month. She's going for a massage this morning.

"Spiders & Snakes." Great song, Lee. In that picture next to your post, what's the building you and your bride are standing in front of?

BB, your mention of you being a telephone operator immediately made me think of Lily Tomlin doing her bit as "Ernestine".

Our driveway, 3 car lengths long.

Hope you slept better last night, K2. Or at least you stocked up on more Ovaltine.

Thanks for the pictures, Nancy.

Such a shame that you had to fire the contractor, KC. Out the gate, this one had showed some promise. It's like it's one idiot after another. Back to square one. We haven't gotten all the refunds from the cruise line yet. Which is annoying. So Kathi called them over the weekend to see what's going on. Talked to a supervisor who promised that all the rest of it will soon be coming.
Did you get that salmon at Cheddars?

Hi Bill!

For me this morning is a half hour on the stationary bike, then a trip to the store to get some paint for "Franklin". OOPS, I forgot to check our supply earlier. Oh we got at least a dozen bottles of paint, but most are not the colors I need. No need for purple, pink, yellow, bright blue, brown,.... and on and on.

Mornin’ all.
I don’t want to say “good” because it seems yesterday took some turns for some of you.
With multiple excuses and no argument from the contractor when you fired him I’d say his mind wasn’t in Barb’s job to start with Karen.
I’ve heard of this Bruce fella who does odd jobs. But I think distance could be an issue, right Nancy? Thank you for the pics of the culvert project.
Ya Momma Bunny. I think a little “Jersey Girl” is called for. Not just G&E but the boys too. You and Bert keep a beautiful, clean and tidy home. They need to respect that. And be the ones to get rid of the ants.
We’re in front of Disney’s Riviera Hotel Dave. We do like to see the various properties that we can’t afford to stay at. The day we had breakfast at The Yacht Club we hopped the Skyliner over to The Riviera and looked around. Our idea of “free” entertainment. I hope they have the paint you need. Great clip of Lilly Tomlin as Ernestine! Fond memories for sure.
Nice that the wire on Art’s aides was covered by the warranty Kathie. The manufacturer should also be responsible for the office visit seeing as it seemed to be their fault you had to be there. I really hate it when I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t drift right back. Lu-Ann often wakes up and reads for an hour or so.
I have a trip to the massage therapist this morning. The seating in the FL house was a little “tired”. The last week or so the love seat seemed to be putting pressure on my hamstrings. I changed seats but too late. Coupled with the three day drive they are out of sorts. That has effected my ability to walk the pups, hit the treadmill and bike at my usual pace. Icy Hot and heat just aren’t cutting it. I’m hoping a couple of sessions will loosen things up. At least the RMT is only 10 minutes away in town.
Have a great Tuesday folks.

Good morning. I don't have any plans for today other than fixing cheese steak subs for dinner.

Karen, while a pain it is good that you fired that guy.

Lee, yes the distance is too far.

Here is the final of phase 3:final phase 3.jpgfinal phase 3.jpgfinal phase 3.jpg

Now to get the concrete poured. Sorry for the duplicate photos.

We only have a small concrete pad in front of the garage so 3 of our 4 vehicles are parked on the grass. All close to the house as we have a large coconut tree towards the road that drops coconuts whenever so can't park near it.

BB, hope you had a talk with the "guests" about their eating habits. And if they have to find another place to stay, oh well.

All have a great day.

Good morning, boys and girls! Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. We better enjoy it, as the same bad weather that hit Texas is supposed to be heading this way tomorrow and Thursday.

Lee - I hope that massage therapist gets some of those kinks out for you and makes walking the dogs a bit easier. Hang in there, buddy!

Karen - A Marion County handyman strikes again!! Too bad you can't find someone who is a transplant from up north. They have a much better work ethic than some of these local yahoos. Try looking on a site called "Thumbtack". You might be able to find someone there and they post reviews of the various companies. Barb might have to up the budget to get someone decent. After all, you get what you pay for.

Nancy - The culvert is looking good. Are they pouring cement today? Looks like it's ready to go.

Dave - Your Ernestine clip was a hoot. Brough back lots of memories. That switchboard she's sitting at is the same type I had to use when I worked for a real estate office while I was in college. Good for Kathi getting her massage today. So what color paints do you beed for Franklin? You got a problem with certain colors??? LOL

Kathie - I agree about hating ants in the house. Here in Florida ants are pretty much a constant problem. Out in the yard it's those awful fire ants that give a terrible bite. Only during certain times of the year do you see the sugar ants. Nathan is really good at spotting them crawling up the outside walls for Bert to treat. Inside they just go wherever.

Bert made me calm down yesterday and not go Jersey. He and I went out on the lanai and had a glass of wine. Chilled for about an hour out there before I started dinner, which turned out PERFECT! The pork chops turned out so tender that you could practically cut them with your fork. We had the whole dinner on the table before our borders showed up. That was only because Bert went and knocked on their bedroom door to tell them dinner was on the table. They had no choice but to do the dishes and cloean up afterwards. Best part is that there are more leftovers for us tomorrow.

They are all doing an escape room tonight, so Bert and I are on our own. We decided to go out for dinner for a change. I think a trip to Outback was where we decided to go. Haven't been there since before covid showed up! I'm already tasting a Victoria's filet!

Time for a cup of tea and to decide what I'm going to do today besides being on the computer. Have a great day, everyone.

Well, as good as it can be since it's suppose to RAIN sometime today. Overcast and 42F here right now.
Art went out on his 1st Road Gravel Bike Ride since he crashed into a POT hole on that famous gravel road ride. The man is his own EMEMY. Pfttt. He did 35 miles on Sunday. Today will be about the same. At least he is with a group.

Karen:
I feel bad for you and Barb. Especially since you said this is her only bathroom with a shower. Can you get a reference from Lowe's or wherever it was you bought the wood. Might have to pay more, but it'll be worth the money to just get the job done. Look for somebody with a updated real license and references. Just NOT what either of you needed. At least your wood got delivered. Hoping for a good ending to this project.

Dave: You're not going to believe this, but when I was in High School, I had a Co-Op job and I had to "relieve" the switchboard operator for her breaks in the afternoon when I was there from school. She taught me how to pull those plugs and TAP into a line. The guys in sales would hate it when I was holding a call and as soon as they ended their call I would immediately PLUG in the call that was holding for them. It wasn't fair, but you can't keep somebody holding for very long. I HATED THAT SWITCHBOARD! That's the same company that I met Art at. He would drive a group of us Co-Ops back to school in his new Dodge Dart. He didn't know I had a eye for him until one Saturday when I needed a ride home because I just didn't want to take the bus. His office partner told me that Art lived closed to my area and said to go ask him for a ride home. YIKES, I must have almost pee'd myself when I went into his office and asked him for a ride. His partner was chuckling at his desk the entire time. And that's how it all started between Art and myself! By the way I was making $1.25 hr as a Co-Op from High School! Amazingly, I was able to buy my own Dodge Dart with that small amount of money. I think it was either $1245 or $1495. A Blue-Green Dodge Dart that was driven by a Chrysler Executive for 4 months and then put on the Employee lot to be sold. We had a dear friend at Church that was a Executive that sponsored me and that was how I got such a new car. And that folks is your STORY FOR TODAY! Now get to work.

Nancy: Lovely pictures. Thanks for sharing. Hope you get your cement soon. Do you ever use the Coconuts?

Lee:
I really think you and Lu-Ann could be TOUR GUIDES in your own business on HOW TO SEE DISNEY PROPERTY without paying a dime! You could have small groups pay you to show them the ropes on how to use the trams to your benefit. The only real cost is if you stop and eat at any of the places. I'm personally PROUD of you both for being able to see all the neat buildings and gardens that some folks never see when they're paying a fortune to get into Disney for the rides! They have no clue what they're missing.

Bill:
Have you gotten much reading done on this trip. I'd be sitting facing that pond and just relaxing as much as I could. And of course laying out by the pool. Since you had that operation I wouldn't take a "chance" of getting into that public pool. Better to just enjoy the sunshine in a lounge chair with a book than taking a chance of getting some infection. Not worth the risk.

Well look who popped in while I've been rattling on.......BB! I'm off to read her post and get into the kitchen to make my Nephew some cookies. I promised him some Pecan cookies weeks ago. I didn't like the ones I tested out, so he'll be getting Choc Chip instead. Ha Ha

Have a good day all.

BB: Nice post girl. Bert is too SOFT on those "boarders" of yours. I guess he figures they'll be out soon enough and why stir the fires now that they already live with you guys. Hope they are still paying for the Cleaning Lady. I think you should really think about HIRING HER after they move out. You can't do the cleaning and Bert needs to watch his health too. That house is just too big for him to do that job.
You need to get a picture posted either on Facebook or here showing us your Raised Herb garden. If you put a picture on Facebook I can RE-POST it on here for you.
My little starter seeds that Jill & Ashley made up for me are growing way too fast. I'll have to buy some of those peat-moss pots and transplant them to save them. We have a bag of that nice peat moss type planting soil, so it shouldn't cost too much for the peat-moss pots. Maybe the $1.25 (formally Dollar Tree) store will have some.

Glad you dinner turned out good. And nice that you can go out for dinner tonight. Just be sure to tell them NOT to SALT your steak. Bring along your Mrs Salt and do it yourself. I use Mrs Salt from time to time when my legs are giving me a problems.

Right I can tell you my KNEES are telling me it's going to RAIN! Ha Ha. My grandfather use to tell us kids when it was going to rain by the pain in his knees. I bet he's looking down and saying "I TOLD YOU SO"! What goes around comes around and now it's my turn to tell the weather by sore knees. Ha Ha. Miss that man big time. He taught me so much that I really didn't realize until I was so much older. Even now I still think back at some of the things he taught me. :icon rolleyes: :emoticon 0152 heart: "You don't know what you have until it's gone"! How true.

Off to see the surgeon for my post-op conference in about an hour and a half. Healing looks to be going well so I hope this will be the last time I need to see him.
Have been reading quite a bit during our time in FL, K2 partly due to our mobility issues and the weather which haven't encouraged us to get out and about that much and partly due to the lack of things on TV worth watching. plus one can only watch so much of the horrors happening in Ukraine on a daily basis.
Right now I have gotten hooked on the Noah Wolf series by David Archer. Seems like there is no end to the series but I am on Book 8 of the series.
Tomorrow night we will be going with Rich and Dianne and Jeanette and Phil to a seafood restaurant that features New England sea food. We have been there in past years and found it worth the long drive. At least Phil will be driving so that makes it less arduous.
Looks like they are making good progress on your driveway, Nancy. Look forward to seeing how it looks once the concrete has been poured.
