WELL CONSIDER YOURSELVES LUCKY. I JUST LOST A NICE POST OF TODAY’s ACTIVITIES.

Nancy…thanks for the neat picture of the Culvert. Do you have a driveway or do you drive over this “Culvert” to get to the house. Just wondering. I have no idea how those things work.

Art and I worked hard in the yard this afternoon. Got a lot pf dead leaves out of the flower beds and shrubs. Felt good once we were done.

Have a good night folks. BASKETBALL TIME.

It was a NAIL biter! That’s our coach izzo sweating it out to the end! But we won and move on to the next bracket. Sunday “ DUKE”! Now that’s scary.

Nite! IT’s been raining since 10 pm! Glad we got all that yard work done!

It's a weekend, all you retired Bunnies.

As usual, not much planned for today. Outside it'll be in the mid 50's, and soggy all day. Getting the lawns ready to take off. Lots of news stories about how lawn services are jacking up their price this year. Higher cost of gas, fertilizer, along with a shortage of workers. Our lawn service is keeping the same pricing as last year. $35 per cut & trim.

You go to the head of the class Lee for knowing what year World War 1 & 2 started. All I could come up was a close time frame. Heck, I don't even know the year that that Vietnam War started.

Thanks for the picture, Nancy.

BB; Is it just me or does a lot of your ideas turn into projects for Bert? :D

I give K2, what's a "Michigan 4 berry pie"?

My goodness Bill, 2 corned beef and cabbage dinners for you. And it wasn't because of leftovers. You must really like them.

Hi there, KC. Any updates on your contractor?

Fuzzbutt has eaten and gone outside. So she is going to curl up and sleep on her pillow in the living room, and I'm going to curl up with my pillows on the bed.

Good wet morning from The Burg.
Seems like the weather guessers are calling for this rain to carry on most of the day. But you don’t need to shovel rain.
You culvert picture brings about more questions Nancy. When I was a kid, back in the Stone Age, everyone in our neighbourhood had culverts that linked, if that’s the right word, the ditches in front of the houses along the sides of the roads. Oh what fun they were to play in. Wet or dry. Is there a ditch or retention area on either side of the pipe?
I am a firm believer that basketball games should be 2 minutes long. it seems to me that most are decided in the final two minutes so why take 2 hours to play a 60 minute game?
I hear Lu-Ann stirring. I always feel bad when she is up so early. That from the guy who was up before 5:30…
You all have a good day and I’ll pop back later to see how everyone’s day is going.

Mornin’ Dave. Just missed ya.

My turn to lose a long post...and yes Dave...I know if I would write it first & then paste it, that wouldn't happen...but then I'd have to find something new to b!tch about...
Not going to re-type the whole thing now, just going to update that Yes..the contractor DID show up yesterday & got the roof patched...so hopefully the inside work can now get back on track!!
Catch up with you all later

Good morning. First to the questions, yes we drive over the culvert, it will have concrete over it but the last was just dirt and grass over it. There is a ditch on each side of the culvert, which since we are in the middle of the street means the water just sits there. The contractor came by this morning and he is not real happy with the placement of the culvert but the guy that actually did the digging and placing told me yesterday that because of the water line he had to back it off, since last week he accidently burst a water line and will not do that again. Orley said that tomorrow he will come and form up where the concrete will go, so that means that Bruce has to move his van tomorrow morning. Orley also said that if the old culvert is still by the road on Tuesday he will take it away.

My main plan for today is watching NASCAR, practice for all 3 classes and the 2 races.

All have a great day.

Good Saturday morning, y'all! Looks like another 90 degree day may be headed in this direction. Lee - You went home too soon!!

Nancy - We had a culvert like that when we lived in Ocala. So glad we don't have to deal with one here.

Dave - You're right that things I come up with turn into projects for Bert. We picked up all the herbs I wanted yesterday. Bert filled the raised garden with 3 1/2 cu ft of special soil and laid out where each plant will go. Today he plans to get the plants planted and then it becomes my responsibility to water and take care of them. So you see, I will have to do something with this project. Got only one problem though - Our watering can is huge and very heavy when filled with water and would be awkward to use on this project, so I came up with a suggestion that Bert will check out today at Walmart. I need a kid sized watering can like the kind they sell for when kids are going to the beach. Hopefully, they still make the kid I remember getting for the grandkids. Otherwise, it will be off to Dollar Tree!!

Lee - I totally agree with you about how long basketball games should be. Nothing makes me madder than waiting for a basketball game to end so the program I am waiting for can begin. Man! They know how to drag out the end of a game.

Karen - Glad to hear that the guy did show up to do the work yesterday. Hopefully, they job will move right along now. I hate when I lose a post and it's usually a long one with lots of good stuff in it. It happens to the best of us, except Dave who backs everything up!! LOL

This evening we are going to go to the Grille for their St Patrick's Day celebration. They have an Irish band and dancers. I hadn't planned on going, but I definitely am feeling so much better and would like an evening out. Considering that fact that the Grille closes at 9, it definitely won't be a late night. Just will be nice to do something different. Now I just have to figure out what I can eat there being I am on a low salt diet. I hope they can make something other than just a salad!!

I hear the other crew starting to stir, so I better make it look like I am very busy doing something other than chatting with my friends!! Have a wonderful day, everyone. Go and have some fun, but remember to stay safe!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.

Rainy on and off here and cloudy. 45F now. We HAD MORE SUN all Winter than we have had lately. Oh well, it will get better.

BB:
Sounds like your raised Herb Garden will be a nice project to tend to. Now you just have to make sure to use the nice fresh Herbs!
The flower seedlings that Jill & Ashley put together for me have sprouted. WAY too early. I'm afraid they will be stringy and never make it to the garden. But I'll keep spraying them and hope for the best.

Karen: YIPPEE! The roof got done. Now to light some fire under this guy and get the inside done. Sure hope you're coming to the end of these bigger projects at Barb's place. Time to get to the Pool Club and float around a little.

DAVE: We get those "Flyers and Mail" almost every day lately for LAWN SERVICE and FERTILIZING. Lots of money in advertising.
Speaking of Advertising. My dear neighbor told me yesterday (when I delivered the Pie to him) that he would not be going to work for a few days because of a PAPER SHORTAGE!
He works at a PRINTING COMPANY. I had just heard on TV that there is a major paper shortage. He told me they can't get all the different 'weights' of paper that they use for their jobs. I had heard that there may be issues when it comes to VOTING because the company that makes up voting ballots can't get the paper needed. Just what we DO NOT NEED. Another catastrophe! So STOCK UP on TOILET PAPER FOLKS and your household printing paper too. No wonder the price of a reem of paper is so pricy lately. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Lee: Did you actually go inside those Culverts? Weren't they full of water and YUK?

Nancy: Thanks for the info on your culvert project. Keep those pictures coming of the progress.

Out of here for now. Talk soon. Enjoy your day. Be safe. And pray for the folks in Ukraine. And the USA too.

I decided that today would be a good day to clean out my one bedroom closet. It's the one that I keep most of my folded up tops on shelves. Bert brings a pile from the closet to me and I decide what gets kept and what goes. The job is going very fast. But I definitely have learned something this afternoon ... Tony was right! I didn't need to buy anything new for a cruise as I have enough clothes in this closet!!! I can just imagine him saying, "I told you. I told you! You have enough clothes for your cruise!" and shaking his head! Fun thought as I've been doing this job! I just located my entire summer wardrobe that I forgot about over the winter! LOL Time now to get back to work on this project.

Just like Christmas Pat! Finding all those forgotten summer clothes! Have fun tonight and you two kids try to be home before the street lights go on.
We didn’t go into the culverts. The ditches on either side were usually either full of water or just grass Kathie. Usually when it was water, the water was a shade deeper than our rubber boots were tall. The grass was a nightmare to cut with a hand push mower. Eventually concrete pipes were put in, buried tied to the sewer system, grassed over and right proper curbs and sidewalks installed.
Looks like we’ll both be catching some motor sports today Nancy. You’ll be watching the “taxi” races while I watch real race cars…Formula 1. ;)
Great news about the roof Karen. Now, onwards and upwards with the interior work.
Is the count down on for the dreaded return home yet Bill?
Baked salmon for dinner tonight. I was thinking of popping it on the BBQ but it’s still raining.
Enjoy the rest of your evening folks!

This project of cloening out my one closet was based on me wanting to find my favorite St Patrick's Day shirt which says IRISH WOMAN, the Soul of a Witch, the Fire of a Lioness, the Mouth of a Sailor! Yeah, that's about right. After we finished the job, I said to Bert that I still couldn't find that particular shirt I wanted. When I told him which one it was, he went into HIS closet and brought it right out to me! He had it with his things. Could have saved us a lot of work had I asked him first!!
Oh well, Got the shirt on and I'm ready for a fun evening on our first visit to the Grille in over a month!

Have a great evening, gang, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Might or might not go to church tomorrow. Annual Elections after the service which would make for a long day. I might just pop in for the Elections. Good time to see what's going on! Most likely nothing new that you can't find out by calling a few people who ARE IN THE KNOW! Ha Ha.
I've been feeling chilled today and it depends on just how I feel tomorrow if I go or not. Hopefully it was just the damp and rainy day that made me feel NOT UP TO PAR! I did manage to scrub the bathroom and wash the throw rugs, and make homemade pizza for us, so I guess I'm not all that down and out. Just comes and goes. A good night's sleep is what I really need.:sleepey smile::sleep2::sleep002:

Art will be going on a Bike Ride on
Asphalt trails with some bike buddies. WAY too muddy after todays all day rain to go on the gravel roads in the countryside. (where he took the bad spill) :icon rolleyes: The man cannot stand up straight, but he can ride a bike! Go figure!

Lee: Salmon inside or on the grill sounds good.

Nite all.

Lee: Thanks for the Culvert lesson! Interesting.

Happy Birthday KC, you young and energetic young Lady!

And a good Sunday morning, and the first day of spring, all you Bunnies. But make no mistake, up here in the north winter weather isn't yet done with us. A soggy morning, but sunny and in the lower 50's this afternoon, here.

Pretty much just checking in. Not a lot of gas in this guy's tank.

May the people of Ukraine fight or negotiate a way out of this unnecessary & brutal war.

Good morning as we Spring into a very Happy Birthday for Karen!
Well Pat. Look at the bright side. You COULD have asked Bert first but you would have missed “The Great Closet Clean Out“. How was The Grille?

Not a lot of gas in this guy's tank.
Eat more beans Dave. I don’t understand how pretty much the entire world is opposed to Putin’s actions yet he continues.
Light rain now is supposed to give way to sunny skies and temps in the mid 50‘s. A dandy day for a bike ride on a paved path for Art. Hopefully a good night’s rest will have perked you up Kathie. The salmon was good.
Let me guess here Nancy. Another day of NASCAR? All kidding aside, I can’t believe there isn’t a NASCAR channel available. Or is there?
Mornin’ Bill. How’s the patient doing today?
Other than a walk with the pups and feeding the squirrels at The Navy Yard I don’t know what’s on tap for today.
That said, all of you have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning & Thank you all for the Birthday wishes!! So far the day has started off well...I actually slept in till 8:30!

Pat, glad you found the shirt you wanted to wear...just wondering how it made it's way into Bert's closet...and are you missing any other clothes?
Dave, we are on a roll with the contractor...he actually came yesterday as well & did the Kool-coat on the roof...now to see if he order's the material he needs from Lowes to start the inside on Monday!

Kathie, I haven't bought a ream of printer paper in years...99% of my printing I do on recycled paper...all those credit card offer's & junk mail I get usually has a blank side...if I am just printing a receipt or directions I just print on those...on the few rare occasions I am printing something important I use the new paper...but it sure saves a lot of money.

Lee, now you've got me hankering for some salmon...I'll have to see if there is any on the menu when we go to Cheddars today...

Nancy, thanks for the picture...this group is very visual...we like to "see" everything...

Bill, hope you are continuing to heal nicely from your surgery...enjoy these last couple weeks before heading north...

Went to a going away party at the clubhouse yesterday...one of the long time residents is moving into an assisted living facility...she had lived here 18 yrs....there was a nice turn out for her

Going to Cheddars for an early dinner with Jane, Barb & Wendy...Jane is going to come over early & give me a haircut...I am in dire need of one....now I'm off to enjoy a 2nd cup of coffee...the sun is out even though it's a bit cool so I may even take it outside...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAREN!!! YOU'RE HOW OLD?
Good morning and happy first day of Spring! We made it!! Winter is over. Yippy!!!

You all sure were up early chatting away this morning. 4:51 AM, really Dave? Goodness, no wonder you had no gas in your tank. At that hour, I wouldn't either. What the heck were you doing up that early, except to wish Karen a happy B-day?

Lee - As usual, you were up and going at your usual early hour. I hope the rains went away and that the sun is shining by now.

Karen - Glad the contractor showed up to continue working on the the job. Enjoy your meal at Cheddar's. We haven't been there in years, but always enjoyed going there since we discovered them in Texas, where the chain started.

Kathie - Well, tell us, did you go to church or just to the election? Were you being religious today or just plain noisy for church dirt? LOL

The Grille was a lot of fun last night. The Irish band was great and we got to see some neighbors and even a former friend. She and I had a good talk and have wiped away our differences. Heck, she may even come over one afternoon this week for a beer!! I guess since my health has gotten so crappy, it's time to mend some fences.
M&J showed up at the Grille too last night and crashed the party. Then they came back to the house, as Bert promised some Irish coffee to us. A nice way to end the night.

Time now to fix a pan of corned beef hash. I prepped everything last night, so now all I have to do is put it together for our brunch. Have a fantastic Sunday, everyone!!

Good morning. Well the one guy helping with the culvert stopped this morning and said he won't be doing any work today but will tomorrow. I have transplanted 2 climbing rose bushes and being outside I got HOT. Bruce said he found a coral snake in the garage and when he is done doing whatever he wants me to stand by the truck, just in front of the door while he makes noise to get the snake out, I said no way am I getting anywhere near a coral snake.

Glad everyone likes the photo, tomorrow after the next phase I will take another photo.

All have a great day.

Good 1st Day of SPRING Wrabbits! It's Sunny here in Pure Michigan, but only 45F. Better than the dull gloom of yesterdays drizzles.

PAT: I must ask before I forget. Just what was YOUR St Patty's Day top doing in BERT's Closet? Has he been know to go to the Grille disguised as "you"?? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: :emoticon 0115 inlove: Sounds like you all had a good time at the Irish party.

Karen: Did Betty move out yet? Nice of your community to have a farewell for the lady that lived there for 18 yrs. That would never happen in our subdivision. We've lived here 30 yrs and if we moved tomorrow life would just go on as usual.....everybody staying to themselves. Thank goodness we have good neighbors on both sides that actually say hello and talk when we're outside working in the yard. Our neighbor "Art" next door is a gem. He gets all my bake goods. :clap002:

My name is Kathie and I am a SINNER! Ha Ha. I DID NOT GOT TO CHURCH or to the MEETING. I was able to sleep in after I wished Art a SAFE bike ride. I needed to take care of me this morning. The gossip of the Annual Election will filter down from Marie who lives UP 24 Mile Rd. She's like "Ma Bell" l when it comes to filling people in on what's going on around the church! (has anybody else ever hear of that expression....Ma Bell! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
I could actually still make it for the meeting since it starts after church and the luncheon.

Nancy:
SNAKES in the garage! Yikes. I'm with you. I'd be NOT GOING in there until I saw proof that the snake was out of there. Life in Florida scary.

Bill: It's your LAST FULL week of nice weather. Then 5 more days and you're UP, UP and AWAY! Back to reality. Next year you really need to go until May 1st. You know it's not going to be warm any time soon back home! Hope you are still feeling good and get a good report from the doctor this week.

Karen: Thanks for the FANTASTIC idea about recycling paper. We get all kinds that I'm sure I can save in a box and use. Art could use it for his DAILY CROSSWORD puzzles he prints off for sure. Can't wait to go and find a plastic box from the basement and get started. Thanks.

Dave: Speaking of GAS in the TANK. Does Kathi ever hear anything from the OIL Company she gave her LIFE to? Just wondering if she keeps in touch with the office gossip over there? I wonder how many people they had to hire or switch around to cover all the work she did for that company. The big thing was going in on WEEKENDS and RAISING or LOWERING the prices of gas at the stations. Who does that ugly job now.

Okay, I'm off of here. I did good with cleaning bathrooms and got rugs washed etc, and today I'm resting. I'm just glad that my head feels much better than it did yesterday. I pushed through the day, but it was different.

Be safe and get out and enjoy the day even if it's a walk to the end of your driveway!
