BILL & RITA & KEVIN ARE IN

THE AIR and on their way home! Thank goodness. Bill said there were delays due to bad weather.
They’ll be glad to get home and slept in their beds sometime tonight.

ALWAYS SOMETHING!

I don't know about you guys but I'm sick of hearing about the incident at the Oscars. With all that's going on in this world, and they just keep banging on that pi$$y little slapping.

Another noisy day yesterday, in our neighborhood. Thursday they took down 3 tall trees next door. Yesterday the tree company came in with their stump-grinder. It took them all day to grind down all 3 stumps below ground level. But the neighbor's front yard looks so much better now.

KC; First you couldn't find a contractor, now they are sprouting up like spring posies.

Hey Lee, if the music is too loud you're too old.

People that repeatedly have a hard time being on time drive me nuts, BB. It's like they are saying, "Screw you, you can wait."

I'm surprised K2 that your yard guy doesn't take care of the leaves, and yard waste. Next time, you don't have to share your snow flurries with us Ohioans.

Refresh my memory Nancy; When is it you head to Alaska? I too could go for some fish. Preferably unbreaded.

Just little jobs for me today. Exercise bike, and getting some more paint for Franklin. Luckily the Mom & Pop hardware store is only about a 1/4 mile away.

What did you say? Couldn’t hear you.
Sometimes being late is unavoidable. But that should be the exception rather than the rule!
That’s great that you could have two contractors quoting the job Karen.I was getting the feeling you’re leaning towards Wes.
We had snow flurries off and on all day here too Kathie. Nothing stuck but it was just plain wrong for April! As Nancy mentioned you still need to complete ArriveCan before you cross from anywhere into Canada. In my humble opinion it’s another waste of time and effort. As long as visitors have proof of vaccination that should do the trick.
So Nancy, what ship, what ports and when is the Great Alaskan Adventure?

Why yes, this was Bert’s reaction to the bell bottoms and halter top outfit Momma Bunny had on!
Welcome home Bill and Rita. Travel around Spring Break isn’t fun.
Throw in a little bad weather and it goes south really fast. Which is a funny expression when you were trying to get out of the south.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. Heard back from the Dr and they sent order for xrays of the hands so will do that later this morning. Got a decent nights sleep.

The cruise to Alaska is on Celebrity Eclipse, Sept 11 to Sept 22. It leaves and returns to Vancouver. Itinerary is: Cruise Inside Passage, Sitka, Cruise Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Cruise Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier, Ketchikan, Cruise Inside Passage, Victoria, Vancouver. Now where we live it has seldom gotten very cold so we don't have clothes for cold weather so I have had to get us some warm clothes and of course each a pair of rain pants and water proof shoes that are on the warmer side. I always have a hard time finding socks that fit my feet and would be warmer but the other day at Aldi I found some, great size and warm but not overly warm. I still have to get me rain pants and Bruce a couple pair of warmer pants and a pair of thermal underwear.

Yesterday we got 2 yards of rock and they put it starting at the end of the new concrete. The guy that got it for us is the guy that did the culvert and Orrie is older than us but he and Bruce got all the rock off the trailer. We decided to get the last load of 2 yards the Friday or Saturday after Easter since the next two weekends we will be in Tampa. I will take a couple of photos when it is all done.

All have a great day.

Welcome HOME BILL & RITA! Hope you're getting some extra sleep today! We kept the LIGHT ON ALL NIGHT here at the HUTCH! When does the car show up?

Nancy: Nice you have a little time to find all the warmer clothes you need for your Sept Alaskan Cruise. Do you do ONLINE SHOPPING at all? I'm sure you'd find stuff from your favorite store. I'm NOT a big shopper at all, yet alone ONLINE! Nice that the stones got delivered and off-loaded. So can you drive on the new cement and stones yet?

LEE:
When we went to the movie theatre last week, both Art and I found the SOUND was unbelievably LOUD. Art had to take out his hearing aids. I took some tissue and stuffed it in my ears. Not sure why it has to be that loud, but if there is a next time I'll be bringing my ear plugs along.

DAVE: I think you'll appreciate those 3 BIG TREES being GONE once FALL comes. I'd hate to think how much it cost him to have all that work done!
Our lawn man DOES take the clippings and leaves with him or at times he'll leave the BIG PLASTIC ROLL OUT on the side of the house and we just roll it to the curb. He only does that about 2 or 3 times at the most when the GRASS grows really fast because of rain or fertilizing. It's his BIG PLASTIC ROLL OUT, so he comes by and picks it up. Not a problem for us. I even buy a bundle of those brown yard waste bags at Costco and give them to him. He does our front and back lawn for such a decent price I want to keep him happy. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Art has left for a BIKE RIDE with his buddies. It's suppose to RAIN sometime after Noon time, so he might be coming home earlier than his usual time. Their big goal is to ride out to Lake Orion and go and get a big fresh brewed COFFEE at the "BEAN COFFEE SHOPPE"! The man drinks way too much coffee if you ask me. But...... nobody asks me. Ha Ha

We got the PRIMER Paint for the dining room yesterday and picked up more sample chips to try and figure out just what color the walls will end up. MUCH LIGHTER than the DEEP RED COLOR that is on the wall now. We haven't painted that dining room since 2003! I guess after 19 years IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE! Heck, if it was totally up to me I'd keep it for another 10 years! Ha Ha.
Moving all that STUFF out of the China Cabinets and the Side cabinet that is full of dishes and linens and silverware will be a major pain in the butt. Wish I could just move it all out the door, but I'll leave that nice job to JILL and her gang when I'm gone! :grnbounce: ;)
I need to look around for some new valances for the bay window. Something plain and simple. Getting rid of the "beautiful", but dated, drapery that is up there now. IT'S TIME!

Okay, I need to get off this computer and get back to paying BILLS. I paid off the Refrigerator that we bought on one of those NO INTEREST extended plans the appliance store offered through a bank from Texas. It was nice not to have to take money out of our savings to pay it in full, but the TRICK is if you MISS one little payment they hit you with ALL THE INTEREST you didn't pay. That's how they make their money. So when I saw that it was coming to the end of the 2 years without interest loan I MADE SURE TO PAY IT OFF ON TIME. Glad that's off my mind. Home Depot has a lot of that kind of Interest Free offers on big purchases.

DAVE, I'm with you about the OSCAR SLAP. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I think he was wrong in the way he handled the situation. The problem is that the TV stations and talk shows and late night shows keep HAMMERING it over and over. STOP ALREADY.

All of you nice folks have a good day.

LEE: What do the folks that actually can't get on a computer or don't have a cell-phone that has all the bells & whistles on them to allow them to do a ARRIVE-CAN do when they get to the border. I'm thinking they get sent off to the side check lane. Or the officer at the booth has to ask more questions and they have to show all their paperwork.

I just found a very detailed website regarding crossing into Canada. One thing I came away with after reading different sections was ............... I NEED TO UPDATE MY 'ARRIVE-CAN' APP ON MY CELLPHONE. So, I will be doing that later today.
And that you still need to let this APP know 72 hrs before crossing to Canada that I'm coming over! That just doesn't seem right.

Good morning from cloudy kiss-my-a$$. Rains are due to move in shortly and will last most of the day. Why does it always do that on weekends?

Dave - I'm with you when it comes to guests arriving late. Makes me so angry. If we are going to someone's house at a certain time, you can be sure we will by there at that time.

Bill - Glad you and Rita finallt made it home last night. This is the weekend of mass exiting of snowbirds. Always thought it would be fun to stand on the side of I-95 and wave goodbye to them!

Nancy - Nice itinerary you have for your cruise. We've been to a number of the same ports you will be going to.

Lee - Love that picture and your comment! When you're young and in your 20s, you can wear an outfit like that. Now it would be a horror show!! LOL

Kathie - We got lucky when our land guys trimmed the bushes the other day. They tied everything up or put the branches in a black contractor's and placed it all out by the street. Bright & early the next morning they came around collecting yard waste all over the neighborhood. Keep dry when the rains come.

Karen - Stay dry today. Looks like we're in for some strong storms. Did Wes show up yet to give a price on the job? Nice that you might have someone else just in case Wes can't do it.

Our shrimp scampi was ok last night, but not great. The garlic I used was probably getting old and didn't give much flavor. Today Missy will be coming over to make dinner - oxtails!! A family favorite and she found some at $6./lb as opposed to Publix where they charge $12./lb. She picked up 5 pounds, so everyone should get plenty to eat.

Have a good day! Time for a cup of coffee and to read the newspaper.

Landed at Logan Airport at nearly midnight last night and Jamie, our daughter in law and Taylor, our granddaughter, picked us up. Quite a difference in temperatures and not a good difference. Got home and in bed by 1:30 and slept in this morning. Just had a call informing us that the car will be delivered this afternoon which is much quicker than we expected so that is very good to hear.
Weather problems along the East Coast yesterday were responsible for all the delays and cancellations but our flight was uneventful although I somehow managed to get a seat where the TV did not function. Since I had my Kindle it wasn't a problem and I managed to finish a book I had been reading.
House looks great and sleeping in our own bed felt wonderful although I didn't sleep that well, which has become the general rule of late.
Fundraiser tonight for our fishing trip group so we won't be getting to bed too much earlier tonight than last night. Its an LCR tournament, which is a fun time, and it will be nice to see so many long time friends .
Nice itinerary, Nancy. Don't go overboard getting cold weather gear. It actually can get reasonably warm in Alaska during the summer months. Dressing in layers is what I would advise so that you can be prepared for whatever temperatures you encounter.
Still have some unpacking and such to do so I will sign off for now.

So Kathie, in your opinion, does Art drink too much coffee? Just askin'.
Even Canadians returning home have to fill out the ArriveCan app. So, if we want to go over to MI for the day we have to fill it out. Ahead of time of course. And guess at the time we will arrive. I have my proof of vaccination on my phone. That has all of the dates, type, and so on. But that's not good enough. Those without Smartphones can access the site on the web and have a printout of their form. I know most places with free wifi also have desk top computers and printers. NOT!
That must be close to the end of the Alaskan cruising season Nancy. Lots of good deals in the ports as they prepare to wind down. I say that because we did Alaska in September the year I retired.
Welcome home Bill. In case you missed the picture, thanks you for the $5.00. I'm still waiting to hear from our bank to see if they have enough cash to cover it!
It bugs me when we're making something and an ingredient as simple as garlic isn't up to snuff Pat. Ya. I reckon if I were to wear bell bottoms and a halter top today I'd sure get some looks! Unless I was in Walmart and then nobody would even likely notice.
We were just headed back down to The Navy Yard when our friends texted. They were having a London Fog at Happier Camper. Curtis sells these dandy little (maybe two night in them!), light weight trailers and has a bit of a cafe as well. I'm pretty sure it's a "Hobby Business." Anyway, we popped in with Katie and Ava and Peachy was already there. Curtis said he'd rather have three dogs like ours than one "screaming, unattended kid" any time. So would we Curtis. So would we.
OK folks. Enough sarcasm and silliness from me.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Well.........LEE........I'm so glad you asked just what I thought of Art's excessive coffee drinking. YES.... I do think he drinks too much coffee. But heck, if it makes him happy and keeps him alive and biking then I guess that's his business. I just bitch about to all of you on here. :grnbounce:

Another group of ONLINE BiLLS just paid. They won't get Electronically sent until 4-5-22 because this is a weekend. No big deal. I always pay them a few days before the due date. Don't want any late charges!

I should be making dinner right now instead of typing on this computer. How much you want to bet
I DON'T do that! Ha Ha.

Out of here. Behave yourselves.

Kathie: we have been driving on the cement and now the rocks, Just has to wait a few days for the concrete.

I may have bought too many heavier pants but they are not too heavy so will be able to use them in the winter here.

Went to the place for the xrays and it turned out that today no xrays until 2 pm as prior to that they only had one tec for any tests. So we went to Lowe's, BJ's gas and store and then to Ruby Tuesday for lunch. It was nice to see they were back to the regular menu. With a bit to go until 2 we headed back. Got there about 1:30 and had to wait a bit to check in and once that was done waited about 15 to 20 minutes to be taken back. Had 4 xrays taken, 2 for each hand and one was hard to do for each hand. They said the Dr will have the report Monday or Tuesday. Hope then the Dr can figure what to do. Am taking the 800 mg of ibuprofen but only once a day at night.

Good Sunday morning Bunnies!

Things to gab about this morning.......not much.

We're scheduled to get our second Moderna Covid booster shot before noon.

Of course we couldn't find the original shots record card. We each carried a copy of it in our wallet or purse. But after looking all over the house, files, and lock box NO original. Which they need to record the newest booster shot on.

But alas, in the deep, dark recesses of Kathi's purse, there they were. They've been in there since we got the 1st booster in October.

It's a running joke about how things tend to disappear when put into that bag.

And that's our entertainment for the day, folks.

It’s always nice to wake up on a December morning to find a couple of inches of fresh snow. Maybe December but sure as heck NOT April 3rd! It should be gone before too long though with partly sunny skies and highs in the 50‘s.
Geez Dave, if you’re missing any single socks check Kathi’s purse. They may have gone from the dryer straight there! Our COVID vaccination records are electronic! You can print them out as we did and in our case, we also added them to the secure Apple wallet on our iPhone and iPad.
I do hope the X-rays shed some light on the problems you are encountering with you hands Nancy. Then the doc can figure out what course of action to take.
I always laugh when we pay our bills online Kathie. Like you said they don’t process payments on Sundays or holidays. BUT, make a credit card purchase on those same days and it’s on your statement within seconds. We used to enter the payment date three days before the bill was due. Now we just pay everything that doesn’t come out automatically on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
And now to Bellview for another episode of ”As The Contractor Turns”. What’s todays news Karen?

Why does it always do that on weekends?
Weekends. There’s a word that only matters to people who have to work Monday to Friday Pat. When we were working we always used to say “What follows two days of rain? Monday.”
Settling in to the real world again Bill?
I’m not sure what today will bring. I guess we’ll find out when the sun comes up and the rest of the house gets going.
Have a good safe day my friends.

Good morning!

We're not having snow today, Lee, and I'd gladly share some of our 80s with you to rush the melting along.
Now about those bell bottoms and halter top ... If you are willing to prance around in a tutu, I can't see any reason why the other item would be a problem. ;)

Dave - We've got to stop by Publix to see about getting the booster shot. Thanks for reminding me.

Nancy - I hope those x-rays show what the problem is. I'm still having pain and swelling in my right big toe and now it appears the left one is going out in sympathy. I'm really starting to think it's gout. Otherwise, it should have started to clear by now.

Kathie - I tell Bert all the time that he drinks too much coffee. He can't even run to the closest stores without takes a coffee to go! And of course, drinking all that coffee, he's always got to stop and use the bathroom. It's a vicious cycle.

Bill - So how are you liking this cooler weather as compared to Florida? We had torential rains yesterday with lots of thunder & lightening. Ended up losing the TV signal for about half and hour during the height of the storm. It actually rained for the rest of the day, but nothing like during the day.

Karen - Any word yet on which contractor you're going to use to do the work at Barb's house?

Missy's oxtail dinner was delicious and boy, did everyone eat lots, except me. I was so exhausted from having another crappy night's that I just didn't feel well. I had hoped that last night would be better. WRONG!! I actually had about 2 hours worth of sleep all night. That mask that I have to wear at night did not seal the way it should have, so it kept releasing "mask farts" throughout the whole night. Finally disconnected it around 5, but by then it was starting to get light outside and I couldn't fall back to sleep. I just took a codeine tablet for the pain in my toes and that might just make me want to take a nap. I definitely will be calling the doctor on Monday to find out what's going on.

Time to get off here for a while and go relax in my wonderful reclining chair. Be good, everyone and stay safe!

Good afternoon. I was so tired I went to bed early and slept until 9 this morning. Mu plan for the day is to watch the race, and hopefully before it starts the tv in the living room will be working, all other tvs are and the internet and phone are working just the living room tv not .

Kathie, I do most of my shopping for clothes any more online. I also buy gifts online, mainly with Amazon and the persons wish list. But a bunch of the clothes for me for Alaska I did buy at BJ's on sale for a real good price.

Bill, we are going to Alaska in mid September so the warmer clothes will be used I am sure. Will not be taking any shorts. But will take a couple of short sleeve shirts.

All have a great day.

Slept much better last night and feel much more rested. Last night's LCR tourney was fun and it was nice to see so many folks. I won the first round but was eliminated in the final round so I was more than satisfied.
Awoke this morning and found that I actually have won the NCAA Basketball bracket that I was in with 8 others. Guess the old saw about a blind squirrel held true.
Not crazy about the lower temperatures but I can see buds on the trees so there is promise of better things to come. Mail box was filled with magazines that the PO did not forward while we were in FL and lots of junk mail that went directly into the trash. There was also the envelope containing my auto excise tax and check which was returned because I mailed in the envelope that came with the tax and it turns out that the town sent everyone an envelope with the wrong address on it. Will go to Town Hall tomorrow and see that they get it recorded.
Guess the weather in FL was even worse Saturday than it was on Friday and even more flights north were cancelled. Pat, one of the things that irritated me when we had Direct TV, was how ofter severe thunderstorms disrupted our TV service. At least we haven't had that problem since we got cable service.
Pleased to note that both our internet and TV service were turned back on as we had asked.
Went grocery shopping and had to rediscover where everything was situated in the local supermarket. I had become used to the layout at Publix and it took a while to adjust to our Stop and Shop's layout.
Bunch of doctors' appointments in the near future, so it will be a bit of a busy week.

Good evening Wrabbits!
Spent a good amount of time this afternoon bringing up SAW-HORSES and placing them in the spare bedroom. We had 2 wooden bedroom doors in the basement, and we brought them up and put them on the Saw-Horses. On Monday I will be carefully transferring all the dishes, china, serving wear etc, etc onto these make-shift tables. Want everything out of the cabinets so we can move the units easier for PAINTING of the WALLS.
I remember posting some of this info on Saturday. The mind is going off on it's own tonight! Ha Ha. Sorry for the repeat.

Bill: Glad you had a nice time at your LCR tourney. Hope you get your SLEEP PATTERN on track again soon. And hope your mail starts to come to your house and doesn't get sent to Florida by mistake!!

Grammy's are on and I need to see if my friend from church who lives in LA will show up somewhere on the side-lines. She works at the Grammy's and does a lot of the picking of who is up for a award after they count the ballots.

FYI: I wanted to get our 3rd Covid Booster shots today, but our Kroger Pharmacy closes early on SUNDAY's. I'll have to call them tomorrow.

Take care and be safe folks.

Just made our COVID BOOSTER vaccine appointment for Monday at 10:15 & 10:30 a.m. at our local Kroger pharmacy just down the street! Filled out all the paperwork online and just need to bring in our vaccination cards tomorrow. Glad to get this over with. Our LAST BOOSTER was August 17th, 2021. almost 8 months ago. I'll most likely stop wearing my mask in restaurants, but I'll still put it on in the grocery store where I walk up and down and past WAY TOO MANY people. Not sure what I'll do when I finally go back to church & choir! :emoticon 0138 thinking:

Karen: Hope your appt tomorrow regarding your cataract surgery goes well. I'm sure you'll be happy once the surgery day comes and goes and you're done with the drops, etc, etc.

Have fun at the lunch with your sisters and Wendy.
