11:30pm and RAINING!
Thursday it’s suppose to rain more and be WINDY!
45-50mph winds. But WARMER! Hi figure.

Lee: Yup, those were the 2 characters that came to the door. The guy on the horse asked if I had “Carrots” for his horse! :D

Nancy: Be careful with those pills for your hands. They’re known to be hard on your Kidneys and stomach.
You’ll find out soon enough that I’m the Bunny Hutch’s resident Doctor. ;) I do hope the hurt goes away soon.

Okay, out of here.

Come out, come out wherever you are K2! Oh, there you are. Hidden behind a stack of papers. Like you, can't wait to get that 2nd booster.

Where's a good Sears catalog when you want one, Lee? Those things were a staple of life. And what kid didn't look forward to the Christmas one. I think they called it something like the "Wish Book".

It's a good thing that none of your current boarders are vegetarian, BB. That would make cooking a pain in the butt. I'm still trying to figure out what the deal is in your son's and wife's purchase of that house. Way too many complications and improvements needed for this kid.

I can feel a sense of hope and trust in your writing, KC. It sure would be nice to have someone you know and feel comfortable with doing that bathroom remodel. You and me both hope it works out that way.

Bill; You are so short with time in Florida that you could walk into a room, under the door, and wearing a top-hat.

In a bit Kathi is off to the doctor to see why one her knees has begun hurting. No fall or bumping seems to be involved. One of those mystery "ouchies" at the moment.

I'll be heading down to the basement for a half hour on the stationary bike, and then continue my painting of Franklin. No big rush on finishing his clean-up. We don't plan on putting him back outside for another month.

I could get used to mornings like this. Starting off the day in the upper 60's. But, and there's always a but, we'll soon be getting another cold front for the weekend.

An early good morning. Got about an hour or two of sleep around midnight and been awake since.

K2 I know that too much ibuprofen is not good, but also that Drs can prescribe 800 mg up tp 4 times a day and I am only taking it twice a day and it is working, so as soon as the one finger can be bent without hurting I will quit and that should be in a day or two.

Karen, that would be great if this guy will work out.

All have a great day.

IT’S HARD TO SLEEP WITH ALL YOU BUNNIES UP AND WANDERING AROUND SO DANGED EARLY!
Seems I’m not much better having been up since 4:30. Finally decided to get up and read. It’s a short “cozy mystery” about a young couple that went up a hill to fetch a pail of water. I have a bad feeling that it won’t end well for Jack!
Enjoy this last day in Florida for this winter Bill. Safe travels tomorrow if we don’t see you.
Fingers, preferably not swollen, crossed that your hands feel better Nancy!
Yep Dave. The Sears Christmas Wish Book. Who didn’t look forward to the wonderful and amazing gifts on those glossy pages. Hopefully it’s just a tweak with Kathi’s knee.
Are there any Sears stores left? Like Target, they’re gone in Canada. The Sears in The Florida Mall closed in February.
The Mounties ALWAYS get their person Kathie. I do know what you mean about days getting away from us.
How did the “team dinner” go Pat? Did everyone do their part? Especially the cleanup. Housing prices are simply insane everywhere. The house that was the model when we bought here went up for sale on Tuesday. It sold once about 2 years ago when this phase of the development was finished. Asking price? Over $900K which will likely mean offers of $1M or more. Even the new build of our humble little model is an eyelash under $750K with no real upgrades.
It does sound like a good call you made Karen. Having been a good employee for all those years has likely meant a lot to Frank and his brother Wes.
Well, time to go out back and bang a big old pot pot with a big metal ladle. If I’m up the rest of the neighbourhood should be up too.
You all have a great and safe Thursday.

Good morning, everyone! No sleeping in late around here today. Lawn guys were here bright & early to trim all the bushes and trees. Shortly thereafter the cleaning lady showed up. I sure am glad I got up early enough to be presentable by the time all this action started.

Bill - You and Rita have a safe trip home tomorrow. Too bad you can't package up some of the heat we are having right now.

Lee - I think I got as excited as the kids when the Sears catalog arrived. I remember buying an outfit from the spring catalog that had hip hugger bell bottom pants, a halter top and a jacket over it. I was pregnant when I bought the outfit and was able to wear it going home after Brian was born. I walked out of the bathroom as my doctor came into the room. His comment was that if I could wear that 3 days after having a baby, I would be back there in the not too distant future. He was right! A few days shy of a year, I had Missy!!!
Our dinner last night was a total success. The steaks were so tender you could have cut them with your fork. Everything that I had made disappeared, including the whole key lime pie and a bowl of peaches. The cleanup crew did their job too, so all was good. Tonight we'll eat very light, as the boys won't be here. I see salads and c heese on the menu for tonight.

Dave - Elaine will go vegan at times, but she knows that's not our thing. Thank goodness! I hope Kathi's knee feels better soon. Hopefully, the doctor will give her something for it. I get to see my doctor for the infection in my toe. I too hope he will give me something to clear up the infection. Glad you're taking your time with Franklin. Can' wait to see the finished product.

Nancy - I hope the fingers feel better soon and that the doctor can figure out what is causing the swelling.

Karen - Yippy! Maybe you have finally found someone who will do the job at Barb's place for a reasonable price. When is he supposed to check out the project and give you a price? Hopefully. that will be soon.

Kathie - I know what you mean about a day getting away from you. That has happened to me more than once recently. That's why I try to post here in the morning, because by afternoon there's so much going on and the first thing you know, it's time for bed. How are you doing with that heart monitor?

Aside from the doctor this afternoon, there's not a lot going on around here for me today. I should be able to read a few more chapters in the new Janet Evanovich book which is very good. It's almost time to get it back to the library.

Time for a cup of tea, so I'm out of here for now. I hope you all have something special planned for today. Just be good and follow the rules.

BB was the poster! Nice post girl! Good that you’re getting that toe checked. Did they give you any meds to put on that ‘toe’? Hope it starts to heal.

Now tell us more about this MONEY PIT of a house that E&G are buying. Will her Father be living with them in the house? I wonder if they are having second thoughts about selling their home in Kissimmee and jumping into buying the Fathers’ house. Seems like it’s going to cost a fortune to bring it up to code. All the best to them….and for your health and sake I hope they find a place to live as soon as school is out for this year. You and Bert need to have a break from all the extra family living with you. You both are truly VERY KIND PARENTS!

Dave: Sure hope Kathi’s knee is something either some physical therapy or meds can help relieve her pain. I know my Left knee is from Arthritis more than any bone on bone issues. I do stretching exercises all the time to keep it from tightening up. Can’t wait to get outside an do my neighborhood biking. That should help.
I’m sure that most of my aches in my bones is from the radiation and some of the meds I’m on. Oh and not to mention OLD AGE!

Lee: I hope if you went to the Navy Park this morning you held on IGHT to the pups! The WIND actually kept Art from going on his bike ride this morning. Well….and the fact it was raining earlier here too. It’s still BLOWING like crazy outside.

BUT…..it’s 60F right now. Crazy weather.

Karen: Tell Barb we’re all hoping that all goes well when Frank and his gang come to see if they can help her out with this remodel. Hopefully, this is the last big TO DO ITEM that is on her list. You deserve a nice “restful Summer”.

Out of here for now. Be safe Wrabbits.

Good afternoon...

Kathie, glad to see Art didn't have you chained to the kitchen counter baking choc. chip cookies... and yes...you DID suggest Southern Plumbing...I just wasn't thinking of them in terms of construction...hopefully we are on the right track now...

Dave, us Old farts have always got something or another hurting...hoping Kathi's knee pain is nothing serious!

Pat, that crew of yours really knows how to chow down...they are going to regret moving so far away from you guys for sure...
Wes's wife told me he would be by to look at the project either yesterday or today...and since he didn't come yesterday "hopefully" he will make it today....I just want to get a firm YES that he will do the job...

Lee, as far as I know there are not any Sears stores around here...they still have an online presence...but for how long...who knows...
Ditto what you said about housing prices...they have just gone crazy...Patio homes in here are selling for over $150,000 and last week the small Villa that Betty lived in sold for $140,000 and it needs major updating...and that sold without a realtor...

Nancy, I've often said I wish Icould find a people Dr. as good as my pet Dr's have been...they really take the time to answer questions & explain the treatment options...people Dr's just want to get you in & out the door as fast as they can...

Bill, what time do you & Rita head for home tomorrow? Safe travels to you all!

Nothing much at all going on around here...yesterday Barb bought me a really pretty dark pink Gerber daisy...so I did get that planted in the front flower bed this morning...they are calling for stormy weather here this afternoon..so far it's windy...but no rain...my tummy it telling me it lunch time so I think I see what looks interesting in the fridge...have a great day all....and keep the people of Seviere Tn. in your prayers...the area is having bad forest fires again...

BB: The Heart Monitor was taken off yesterday evening and put back in the box and got put in the mailbox for it's return. Postage paid! I had one time in 7 days that I felt light headed and recorded it. I think it was a waste of good insurance money.

Temps have fallen to 44F right now at 6:00 pm.

Dinner is done and kitchen is cleaned.

Art is going to go play CARDS with the Serbian guys from church tonight.
I get the TV to myself. :clap002:

Hope you all had a decent day. I baked a Apple cake recipe that I translated from Croation language and I think it's a FLOP. I don't think I had one of the kinds of FLOUR that I was suppose to use. It's still warm so I'll see if it's salvageable or not. At least it was just 5 apples and flour and sugar and some butter. Didn't waste too much good stuff on it. Leave and learn not to trust google translate.

Have a good evening all.

Had my doctor's appointment. I'm now on a strong antibiotic plus he also gave me codeine, if I nerd it for the pain. If the infection doesn't start to clear within 48 hours, I need to contact the office, so they can prescribe something else. We did check to make sure that ese meds will not interfere with my other meds. He said they won't, so for now I'll take his word.

Karen - Did Wes show up today? It sure is windy out and tomorrow is going to be a wet one with lots of thunder and lightening. Stay safe up your way. You too Nancy.

Kathie - Glad you're finished with the heart monitor. Now to wait for the results. That's the worst part for sure. I have a suggestion for you - Why don't you find an apple recipe in ENGLISH instead of trying to translate from another language using a translation program. Just a thought.

Time now to get off here for tonight. Our "borders" are hiding out in their bedroom. She was supposed to fix dinner tonight, so looks like we might not be eating. A charcuterie board and veggie platter were planned, but at this point, I have no idea what's going on.

Have a good evening and I'll see you in the morning.

It's April 1st.......But come on Mother Nature, you can knock off this April Fools Day joke of cold & a bit snowy.

Sucks to be you today, Bill. This year's extended time in Florida has come to an end. And now the journey back home has begun.

Yes KC, all us old buggers do seem to be getting more and more aches & pains with every passing year.

Kathi had a few tests, including blood, done at the doctor's yesterday. She was given a prescription for an anti-inflammatory for her knee.

No Sears store around here any more, that I'm aware of. (It doesn't seem that long ago that the big retail dogs were Sears and Montgomery Wards.)

Not a quiet day in our neighborhood yesterday. A house next to us was having 3 very large trees in their yard chopped up and taken away. From morning to night was the loud sounds of chain saws and grinders and trucks moving around. My guess is that the neighbors got tired of all the leaves they had to pick up every year.

This morning @ 9 we're heading down to Wally-World to pick up Kathi's prescription. And while we're there, pick up some grocery items that our grocery store doesn't carry.

Not much this morning.
We went to Paglione’s Winery with friends for dinner. They had a piano player / singer who was good but WAY TOO LOUD for the room. Many of the tunes turned in to sing a longs which was fun. A good time was had by all. Problem being the chair cut right across my ham strings and they took to aching through the night again. Damn.
Safe travels Bill and Rita.
See you all later on.

Good morning and Happy April Fool's Day! Our April Fool's joke from Mother Nature was thunderstorms all night long. Woke me up a couple of times. For right now the sun is trying to come out, but the rains are to return again later this morning.

Dave - Glad Kathi got meds for her knee. Have fun at Wally World! Used to love shopping at Montgomery Ward. I was so sorry when they closed up shop. So many of those type stores have disappeared. Thanks to the internet, people got lazy and do their shopping online. Think of all the jobs that are lost when one of these stores close.

Lee - Sorry your ham string is aching. My toe is still aching too. Doctor said it w ould take about 48 hours to fel better, hopefully. We shall see.

Karen - You get all that heavy rain too? Got really windy here during the storms. I really am not a fan of these spring storms at all.

Everyone is still asleep here. Elaine has a dentist appointment. Her one son may also be going to the dentist today, as he didn't go to school. G&E are going to do some running around after the dentist and at this point I have no idea who is going to be here for shrimp scampi. I may well say the heck with making it, as it needs to be eaten immediately. Not knowing for sure when G&E will get back. They have a very bad reputation when it comes to being on time for anything.

On that note, it's time for me to get a cup of coffee instead of tea for a change. By the way, they just hung the signs on the new Starbucks which will be opening right outside Bellalago. With all the yuppies in the area, they should do a fantastic business.

Have a great day, gang, and don't let anyone fool you!

HAPPY APRIL'S FOOLS DAY! Whoever started this anyways??

Good Morning gang. Slept well last night! Cloudy and 34 degrees here now. The Daffodils
must be wondering if they should go back under for another month. Our Peonies are popping up too. Feel bad for all the plants. I still haven't uncovered our Roses from the protective cones. I'm sure it's going to snow at least one more time! :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

DAVE: Glad that Kathi is going to hopefully get some relief from her knee pain. I KNOW WHAT THAT'S LIKE! OUCH.

The Apple cake that I made yesterday was HORRIBLE. I managed to save the bottom crust and the apples on top of it, but took off the top layer. Art noticed it was different and I had to explain that I wanted to save the apples, but the top was like eating USELESS CALORIES. He just rolled his eyes.
BB... the picture on the one Croatian site on FBook that I belong to just looked so good I figured I'd google translate it. So much for that idea. Ha ha.

BB: Hope that TOE of yours starts to heal for you. Is it an open cut or just a pain in the toe?

Lee:
Nice that you and Lu-Ann got to go out with your friends. Bummer on the uncomfortable chair and the aches that followed.
I saw on last nights NEWS the reporting of NO MORE 72-hour Covid testing to get into Canada. I wonder if you still have to register with the ONLINE site we had to use when we went to Goderich? (forgot the name of the internet program)

Karen:
How's it going over your way. Amazing how much money the units in your complex are getting these days. The problem is that when you SELL nice and HIGH you have to PAY as much or more to move into a new place. Unless you're moving in with somebody there is no big money gain. Wonder how all the HIGHER SELLING PRICES are going affect peoples taxes?

BILL & RITA's weather at Rockport, MA isn't as bad as it could be. 55's most of the weekend. Still not the 70 & 80's they have had the last week or so in Florida, but it's not too horrible. Hope they have a safe flight. Can you even imagine what I-75 and the other mail highway out of Florida looks like today at the AIRPORTS. All those Snowbirds returning home! YIKES.

We're going to go and buy some PRIMER to cover up the REDish color on the walls in the dining room. Still not totally set on a new color, but it will be MUCH LIGHTER than the deep REDish color that has been up there. I happen to like it, but the rest of the family says it's time to UPDATE MOM!! Ha Ha. The lovely drapes are coming down too. I think I was the only one that liked them all these years. They are a little Victorian looking! Ha Ha.
I wish I could GIVE them away to somebody, but they're made for that Bay Window and it would be near impossible to find somebody that not only LIKED the Pattern, but had the same size windows. I'm going to try and post it on our local Fbook page, but I don't expect any takers.

TRASH MAN just pasted by and picked up 5 bags of our YARD WASTE. Some from last Fall and some from early March when we had some warm weather and raked up the flower beds of leaves. And so it starts..........another season of YARD WASTE in BROWN BAGS being put out on Friday mornings!

Good afternoon...no way will I finish this post in 5 mins. so not even gonna try...

Pat, did anyone ever cook supper last night or did you & Bert have to resort to PB& J? Hope the toe starts feeling better soon...
We did have rain off & on thru the night but nothing major...it had been pretty windy here most of the day

Lee, sorry about the loud music & uncomfortable chair...the price we pay to have a good time with friends....hopefully there was good wine involved as well...

Kathie, I'm sure Art would have found nothing at all wrong with that Apple cake...:) but it is aggravating when recipes look so good & then turn out so UGG...

Dave, have fun on the trip to Wally world...hope the meds do the trick for Kathi's knee....

Got a call from Wes this morning...he is still trying to find time to get over to Barb's and scope out the project....he's going to try for today...but it's his son's 4th birthday so it may not work out...
Other than that got nothing going on today...haven't heard from an of the poolies about lunch so I think I'm just gonna chill on the back porch & read my book....Later gang!

Good afternoon. Got a good nights sleep and hope it happens tonight.

Been going thru the clothes I bought for Alaska and working on putting them in Compressible Packing cubes. I think I just need a couple more items and then will be set.

K-2 thanks for that info about no more testing for Canada. The site I found when I googled no mor resting is ArriveCan and have downloaded it to my phone and set up an account. Later will add most all info. Now to just find that no test is needed for the cruise.

Am fixing fried fish for dinner tonight. Last night the grape salad was good and when I went to get some for lunch saw that Bruce had taken a good bit for his lunch.

We had strong winds yesterday but just a bit windy today. And so far no rain but should be coming.

We are back to going to Jennifer's next Thursday and going to my brothers and all of us going out to eat, we will be going to a small fish place near them. We went one other time and for 7 of us and me buying a couple containers of soups, our bill was $132 and all of the fish is fresh no frozen. Very good food. Their Granddaughter decided that she will go home from surgery with her Mom. so all of us just hope that she follows what the Dr says about what food not to eat for awhile.

Called the Dr this morning about my fingers and gave the girl at the desk good info on the problem and what I need I just hope that she can find something different for the problem.

All have a great day.

Actually had another contractor show up this evening to give us a price...it was a guy Barb had talked to on Tues. before we had talked to Wes...the one the DIY place had recommended.... Barb said he actually showed up with 2 other guys to look over the project...he told her he'd get a price to her on Monday....I'd prefer to use Wes...but it's good to have back up in case Wes decides he doesn't want to take on the job....

Karen: BACK up in Florida is a GOOD THING. I'm praying this all finally works out.

Bill & Rita's FLIGHT has been delayed 2 times. Seems like the airport is a mess with everyone wanting to go home at the same time. Bill posted on Facebook that there were LOTS of DELAYS. The last post said they were suppose to get out at 8:15 pm. He wasn't too hopeful.
Sure glad that Kevin is with them on this journey home.

I need to find my cozy blanket and curl up on the couch. GOOD NITE.
