Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good afternoon. Well I went and had a haircut and found a new shop. wash, cut and blow dry $14 and this is a private salon. It helps that she did a very good job. We are at our high of 68 and I have been wearing shorts but will go put on long pants in a bit. My one arch is hurting so am wearing a pair of sandals that help support it but will be putting on socks.

After getting haircut got new tips on my hearing aides, glad they do this for free every6 months as I have ears that produce a bunch of wax. Then went to Publix and weighed myself and I think their scale is off but if not I will take it as it said 212 pounds which is a 12 pound loss in just over a week. I know that I hardly ate last week when bedridden but still.

K2, only watch races on tv now. The race Sunday was in CA. at the LA Coliseum. They said they could seat 60,000 and there were a good number of empty seats and they said that about 70% were first time to a race, I wondered how many of those went because of the "entertainment", which I did not particularly care for. I know that NASCAR is trying to attract new people but they seem to forget all of the older ones that have been fans for 30 or more years.

All have a great day.

Good evening....another cold damp dreary day here in the Sunshine state, my sincere apologizes to our resident "snow bunnies".

Dave, nice of the son in law to deliver the exercise bike for you...of course it would have been even nicer if he'd asked you where you wanted it before he set it up... :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Kathie, bummer about losing your post....and it's always a LONG one that is just about ready to be posted!

I picked up some of those masks today too at Walmart....they had them in a box right as you come inside by the hand sanitizerI almost didn't see them until the couple in front of me started scooping them up...I think they were planning to take them all, but I managed to reach in & snag 2 of them...why do people have to be so greedy?

Bill, I never realized you had to pay to forward your mail...but then other than moving I've never had any mail forwarded...hopefully they will get everything straightened out before it's time for you to go home...

Pat, sorry to hear dinner last night did not turn out to your standards...it's really hard to get good kitchen help these days!
But it's good to hear you are finally getting a good nights sleep...is this new unit "Cappi" proof?

Lee, no need to apologize....we have no shortage of knuckleheads on this side of the border either...
I just wish I knew why heck gas prices are so out of site...I paid $3.36 a gal. yesterday & saw multiple places in the $3.50 range...just crazy!!

Visit to the ENT went ok...took a pretty thorough history of the cough problem, asked lot's of questions....and then things went south when she told me they wanted to look a down my throat to see if there was scaring from acid reflux or anything...and she showed me this camera thing with about an 18" tube they were gonna run down my nose...NOPE...not today sweetheart!! She said it would be "uncomfortable" but she was sure I was brave enough to handle it...still NOPE....I asked if I could re-schedule & have it done after taking a Valium & she said they normally don't do that...so they put me on some acid reflux medicine & want me to do a saline sinus rinse and see if that helps any...I go back in 6 weeks for a re-check....not gonna do the nose thing if there is anyway at all I can avoid it...
Now it's time to relax & relish the fact I have no appointments to go to tomorrow!! Depending on the weather I may go check out the gym I am thinking about going to with my Silver Sneakers pass...other than that the day is all mine!! Enjoy the evening all!

I'll be back later tonight.
I’m counting on it!
Like The Super Bowl 1/2 time show Nancy. I’m thinkin’ there‘s not a lot worth me tuning in for…
We use a saline rinse daily at home Karen. It’s those netipot gizmos. They seem to help! Lu-Ann gets a nasal spray when we’re hear if she needs to use it.
Stopped raaining so we got the pups out for a walk. We met a family visiting from Dublin, Ireland! The Mom asked if Katie had shamrocks on her collar. I said she did because she was from Galway, Ireland. And so started the conversation.
Have a good evening everyone.

Good morning all you cute furry creatures!

Yippee! We did it. 4 days in a row of sunny days. Can we go for 5? Any sunny day is worth a lot more than a snowy day.

We got our 4 free Covid at-home tests yesterday. I was surprised that they were all in one small box.

No need to apologize for the uneducated truckers in Canada, Lee. There are dummies on both sides of the border. What I don't understand is that 90% of the truck drivers ARE vaccinated. So why all the drama?

I see that you are a drill-sergeant chef in the kitchen, BB.
1f601.png
Time to do some more drilling.

Good going at the mini casino, Bill.

That's a real decent price you got at the salon, Nancy. It sounds more like the price a guy pays at the barber shop.

Didn't we discuss how not to lose a post, K2? Hint, Hint.

KC; Were those masks you got at Walley-World N95 or KN95 masks? I too didn't know that you had to pay extra to have your mail forwarded. That camera and 18 inches of tubing going down the nose would creep me out too. I'd not only take Valium but 3 shots of vodka if I had to do that procedure.

Nothing much planned today. Need to hit the stationary bike. But this time there will be a folded up bath towel on the seat.

So why all the drama?
Seems it’s a case of the tail wagging the dog Dave. The 10% uneducated, unvaccinated truckers started a protest and the rest of the anti vax idiot fringe has joined them. The sad parts are that all of the good truckers are delayed because of the morons and people where they are protesting are unable go about their daily business.
Today we’re meeting friends at The Springs from our old neighbourhood, Kitchener, who are down for 10 days. They are Disney Vacation Club members. Have been for 30 + years. It will be good to see them.
I do hope everyone has a fantastic day! Back later…

Good SUNNY, so far, Morning from PURE MICHIGAN!

Again, we have a appt at 11:00 am and I have to jump in the shower and wash my hair. It's looking bad! Ha Ha. Way too much information.

I feel bad for the GOOD TRUCKERS. This is not what the country needs with all the shortages and fuel prices being high. Crazy world we live in. If people would just get the damn Vaccination, the pandemic would be close to over by now. Notice I did say CLOSE.

I'll be back. BEHAVE.

Good morning. It is very coooooooool this morning, only 56 right now and only supposed to get up to 65 and we have had rain and may get more but this afternoon the sun is coming out.

Dave, yes that price is great. One thing that surprised me it they do not take Mastercard or Visa, cash or check only. That can be one reason they can keep the price low.

Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon, fellow floppy eared creatures! Working in the slow lane around here today.
Slept until 10:00 and only woke up when I heard Gary on a conference call in the kitchen.

My sleep didn't start out too well and I kept waking up. I didn't do a good seal on the mask I wear and I think I had too many fluids yesterday between water, wine and soup. Finally around 4 AM I woke Bert up to help me reposition my mask. This time we got a perfect seal and I fell right to sleep and slept for the last 6 hours. I really love this gizmo!!

Nancy - Sounds like you found a great salon for hair cuts. Wish I could do that here. many of them here cater to specific ethnic groups - Jamaican hair, Dominican hair, etc. Doesn't really matter though, as my hair got so thin (thank you thyroid!) that I said the he!! with it and just wear wigs. Then I can cut the bottom as needed myself. See how frugal I can be? ;)

Lee - How cool running into that family from Ireland. Bet you had a nice conversation with them and the sound of their voice reminded Katie to her home across the pond.

Karen - I would not be thrilled having that camera slid down my throat either. I thought they usually numbed the area, so that you wouldn't feel it. Maybe I'm wrong, but that might work.
Lucky you snagging those masks. Our Publix is not taking part in theat program for some reason and God forbid, venturing into Wally World, if you can avoid it.

Dave - So how did you make out with a towel on the stationary bike's seat? I hope that worked better for you.

Still pretty chilly here. Good thing we don't plan to go anywhere. The cleaning gal G&E hired will be here shortly. I also have a home health therapist coming in the next hour or so. Not sure what she's coming for, but it's covered, so let's do it. They're also going to have their dietician call me. Boy, should that he fun! I'm not so sure I'll be able to talk to her and keep a straight face knowing I don't easily change my way of cooking. Stay tuned for that adventure!!

The nurse that was here on Sunday, told me about and excellent lotion to use for dry skin, especially at this time of the year. The best part is that you get all the ingredients at Dollar Tree. You mix them all with an electric mixer and then put them in containers. It only costs $5-7 to make. Missy found the recipe for me last night on Pinterest and we will go to Dollar Tree in the next few days. I'll let you know how I make out.

Time to get off here before cleaning lady gets here. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to stop back again later, but if not, have a great afternoon and evening. Make sure you continue to follow the rules.

Busy afternoon around here between a long physical therapy session and the cleaning gal is still here. It's still going to be a while before we get around to eating up the leftovers we have in the fridge. Me? I'm having more of that chicken soup I made yesterday. Not s ure what the rest want.

Time for me to get off the computer for the evening though and go visit with family. See you all tomorrow. Sleep well, gang!

Good Thursday morning Bunnies! And by-jove, we did make it to 5 sunny days in a row yesterday. But today's cloudiness will put an end to that.

Super Bowl Sunday is creeping up on us. But there is one thing about this game I just don't like. It is February, but the fans in California will going to the game with a temperature around 90 degrees. That's just not right. It appears that the stadium is covered, so they'll probably be running the air conditioners inside. Super Bowl and snow is what's called for.

Those truckers are now having a negative effect on the auto industry on both sides of the border, Lee. Some production lines have shut down due to lack of parts. Great job truckers, you morons.

K2; You never did say what yesterday's appointment was for.

Those credit card fees really put a dent in businesses profits, Nancy.

The folded up towel on the stationary bike seat did help, BB. But I still can't wait to get my softer and wider new seat. I got an E-mail saying that it has shipped. Just don't put that lotion you are making up in the frig, as it could end up on someone's salad.

Grocery shopping this morning. This time we are going to the large store since they have a pharmacy.

Good morning.
Little Ava’s pancreatitis is acting up. Fortunately we brought her meds with us. That didn’t stop me from being up every couple of hours to take her out. At home we could open the back door. Can’t do that here so it’s collar, lead and, usually, a short walk. At 5:39 this morning we were on a 1.67km walk. Why? Because she wanted to keep going.
While I support everyone’s right to a peaceful protest these anti vaxed, uneducated idiots have passed that. You’re so right Dave. Their irresponsible actions are effecting trade, commerce and jobs on both sides of the border. I’m sure I saw on the news crawl that in a “monkey see, monkey do” mindset US truckers are thinking protests on this, The US side of the border, might be a good idea. Really?
You all be good today and stay out of trouble. See you all later.

Good THURSDAY morning Wrabbits.

Dave it's partly cloudy here this morning and 36F already! I doubt it will get the Sunny 45 degree's we had on Wednesday. Man that was nice!
We were looking for a few new appliances. A lot of the really GOOD appliance stores have closed down. Now you have to travel a long way to find things. A shortage because of the
chips will make it near impossible to get anything for months. They're selling the display items and you don't have anything to look at. It's crazy.
Dave any news on getting that cruise REFUND? Amazing they can hold onto YOUR money like that.

Lee: Sorry to hear that Ava is having issues. Is this a common thing in Grey's? Not the nicest thing getting up and going for a long walk at 5:30 a.m! Bless you both for all you do for your pups! Try and throw in a NAP this afternoon.
We keep following the TRUCKERS protest and it's not something that will end anytime soon. And the locals in Ottawa that support their cause are bringing them food. As far as the Ambassador bridge goes, I hope it doesn't break in two from the weight of all the trucks lined up on it. It's just unbelievable what the world has come to lately.
You guys worried about getting OUT of CANADA sure hope you don't have issues getting back INTO CANADA when your vacation is over. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

PAT: Hope you got a good
night's sleep girl. How's the new chair working out? Does it recline back and have the lift for your legs? Whatever works to make it easier for you to get up and down. Just try and walk around and keep those legs moving.
Have you ventured out to the Grille yet? I saw pictures of a Valentines party on Facebook. WOW, they went all out. Everyone was dressed up and the decorations were beautiful. Not sure why they had it so early though?
Nice to know the cleaning lady is coming on a regular basis. That's one thing Bert doesn't have to worry about. Bless that man for all he does for you and his family.

Karen: How's Jane doing? Hope she didn't break anything with her fall. And hope that Wendy is holding it together with all the things she has been going through lately. That woman just hasn't had a break at all.
Good to read that Scooter is holding doing better. I should know this by now, but how are the other Kitty's. You have 2 others... YES - NO?? I need to start a log of pets and names, etc, etc for everyone. :)

Bill & Rita: Belated Happy Anniversary to you both. Hope you had a good day/evening! Does the place you're staying at have MOVIE night or BINGO night? Do you get out and walk around the place? We're into another Netflix movie series call "After Life". It's funny and sad at the same time. It needs to pick up the pace a tad or I think we may drop it. Did a 2 day binge watching of the "Woman in the Window". It was really good. When's your cruise?

Nancy: Nice that you found a place to get your haircut that's reasonable. Can't blame people for not taking credit cards. They have to pay a high percentage and it just doesn't leave them with much profit. We see more and more small shops not taking credit cards or they have a minimum you have to buy to use a card.

MR ART has ventured out to the Big Park to meet up with his biking buddies. He says his RIBS are healed! Yeah right!! I still don't believe the man. Anyways, he said he would only be biking in the park not going out on the gravel roads yet. That alone tells me he's still not 100%. Missing out riding on the gravel roads that end up at the COFFEE SHOPPE tells me a lot. The man loves to have his coffee and chat at that coffee shoppe. Oh well, I can't hold the man back from his love of biking.

I'm out of here. Need to pay some bills and my coffee cup is empty.
You all have a good day. BE SAFE. Later gang.

Good morning. Everyday I am feeling better. And the inflammation is better too but will be back soon enough since we are in for anther cool down. Read that eating berries is good to help fight it so yesterday I bought blackberries, blueberries and raspberries and will eat with cottage cheese and see if they help.

Yesterday we bought a rolling 6 shelf rack to help with the food and small appliances in the utility room. Got it all together and today Bruce is working on attaching the large plastic shelf unit to the wall. Will put mainly food stuff on the rolling rack. Been her almost 37 years and just now making it easier for us.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, everyone.

Chilly start to the day around here. It's still only in the 50s. A bit too nippy for me to venture out this early. Good thing I have therapy again this morning, but it's occupational this go round. They sure are making a lot of money off me these days!

Lee - Sorry to hear that Ava is a bit out of sorts and had to go out at the way too early hour. Poor baby! How long does this usually last when she's on meds? I will keep in mind your caution about not mixing up the lotion with salad dressing!! LOL

Dave - So how was your trip to the big grocery store? Anything missing on the shelves that you were looking for? I just put together a list for Bert for things I want for the Super Bowl. G&E will be away with one of the boys and the dogs over Saturday night, but the will be back for the Super Bowl. Planning on some easy stuff and nothing that will be a lot of work. I really am going to be watching the game for the commercials, as I usually do.

Kathie - So how come all of a sudden you're looking for new appliances? You decorating again? Nice that Art was able to get out and ride his bike for a bit again, as long as he doesn't overdo it or hurt his ribs further.
I love my new chair! It's pretty comfortable and has a remote to slowly recline the back while raising my legs. Then I can press the other button and it will put the foot rest down while slowing raising the seat up until it is at an angle where I can stand up easily. Along with all the benefits, it's so nice to be able to recline a bit and look out watching the activity on the lake.

Karen - How's Jane's bottom these days? Still hurting, I bet.

No matter how much we hate our governor, he always manages to come up with something to top his stupidity. The latest is his appointments is another totally unqualified guy who after being sworn in made comments about people who wear masks and called them retards. That is by far the must hated word to our family for more than one reason and if anyone uses that word around any of us, we will call them out on it. I had a younger sister who was retarded and passed away at 30. There were some calling Justin that before he passed and got in trouble with Missy. Now to hear a state official use that tern absolutely makes me go Jersey over this latest of a-hole's appointments. Unbelievable!!!!

Better get off here now and grab a cup of tea before therapy gets here. Time to put Jersey to rest for a while. Have a wonderful day, everyone. Stay warm, and stay safe. OH, yeah, and WEAR YOUR MASK!!!

Good afternoon! A bright sunny, but chilly day here still...I had to have Scooter to the vet's by 8 this morning & driving thru the country seeing the frost on the ground & the fog rising up from the fields was so pretty...

Kathie, there will be a test after this...I only have 2 cat's...Scooter & Ginger...Buddy the stray died last year...
Good luck appliance shopping...they sure have gotten even more expensive!!

Lee, sorry to hear poor Miss Ava was having a flare up...what medicine is she on? The vet has Scooter on Cerina 1/4 tablet as needed..
Pat, I guess we can't really expect intelligent behavior from our Gov. or anyone he appoints...it's just sad to see how far our country has fallen in the last few years...no kindness or respect for anyone!
Dave, glad the towel helped your hinny some...hopefully the new cushioned seat will help even more... the masks at Walmart were N95's...I don't really know much about which are better...they were free & that worked for me...

Got a call from the dermatologists office this morning & the scrapping was cancer...she called it a superficial (I think) Basel cell which meant it was just on the surface, no roots...they have me scheduled for a scrape & cauterize on March 9th...but last time she was going to do that she decided she didn't need to, so we shall see..
Now just waiting on a call to see when I can pick up Scooter...going back to sit on the porch in the sun where it's warm...Oh...I almost forgot...I got a call from the "winners circle at publishers clearing house" regarding a cash prize I've won...Yeah...Right...they left a message & a phone #...but I won't be calling back anytime soon...

We need a GROUP HUG for all the PETS you folks have to get feeling better real soon.
((((( Group HUG)))))

BB: Thinking about re-doing our kitchen. Running around looking at all kinds of stuff. Reminds me of when we re-did the kitchen in our first house..... only 10x more money these days. Appliances are 3 months out. One salesman turn and said he had a customer waiting 9 months for a certain appliance. I didn't ask what it was, but I bet it was a specialty item.
Anyways, I wear my mask in every place I've walked into. Some places have signs on the door you have to have a mask others don't and even some employees don't wear them. Oh well, I wear mine and I don't even remember I have it on. Ha ha.

Miss the SUNSHINE we've had for more than a week. Gloomy today. Never got past 35F, but at least the WIND was not around. Temps are going to keep dropping each day and on Saturday it's suppose to snow/rain/sleet. Joy, Joy.

Lee: No problem getting through the Detroit/Windsor tunnel. So you should be okay when you start to come back home. When do you do that???

I made a huge pot of Pea Soup yesterday evening and we're going to have that for dinner and with the ham that I put in it. Then the rest will get put into the Food Save bags and go into the basement freezer to freeze. Then I'll use the machine to suck out the air and we'll have homemade soup when I don't feel like cooking. I need to replenish a few other items I've been using up lately. Like Pierogies!

Out of here for now. Gotta warm up some of that yummy soup! Have some homemade wheat bread to go with it.
Then we'll watch some more of the "After Life" series. What a exciting life we lead .... HA HA.

Kathie - I am holding my breath on some of our appliances, especially the washer & dryer. They are both 16 years old and this crew runs at least 1 load of laundry a day. Give me a freak'n break!!! There's only 4 of them, but the boys want to wash a load of clothes each day after showers. They could wait and do a load every 2 or 3 days like the rest of us do.

Got pi$$ed today when the therapist was here - Just before he left he asked if he could use the bathroom andI said of course. It was only cleaned yesterday, so I figured all would be ok. Later I went in there and found old of the boys, probably the 15 year old had left his dirty underwear in the middle of the bathroom floor! There will be a conversation during dinner tonight about this practice. No excuse for that behavior at his age.

Time to get off here for the night. They're getting Chinese food for dinner, so time to clear the table off. Have a great evening, everyone, and I'll see ya tomorrow.
