Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Now I just have to take it easy for a few days.
Where is The Master when I want to put a couple of bucks on that happening! Pat, we are so happy to see you home. Stop scaring us!!
Yes Karen, that happens at home with some of our tax packages. Free until it matters.
Is there a fee to forward mail Bill? If so they owe you. Like every thing you paid as a goodwill gesture. At home it is now about $10 A WEEK! That’s why we have friends pick it up weekly. We don't get to the door delivery.
The 80’s were yesterday and the day before Kathie. We’re looking at low to mid 60’s until this coming Thursday. Back to shorts and sweatshirts for a few days. My biscotti, that I make, are cranberry / almond.
We went to Walmart for groceries today. The prices are better than Publix but The Walmartians are from a whole different planet.
Everyone enjoy the day.

Welcome back BB! Now "Momma Bunny", you're going to be grounded to your part of the hutch the next time you exit for a week and don't take a device with you that lets you keep in contact with us, so we know what's going on! I want to know what sent you to the hospital this time, and details of what they did to reduce the risk of it happening again. No short Reader's Digest version.

Yes Lee, the newspaper should have notified customers of the problem that happened when they upgraded their computer system. Plus an easy way to fix it without getting stuck on hold for over an hour, like Kathi did, to reenter the customer's information. I don't know the exact number of people that were affected but our newspaper carrier said quite a few of her customer just quit home deliveries. Oh yea, what's a deep-chested dog?

K2; I can't imagine the terror and cost of having a water line break inside my house while I was away. That's why we always shut off the main valve anytime were away for any extended time.

Something tells me that the USPS will finally clear up the problems with forwarding you mail Bill, just about the time you head home.

Kathi might go back and reenter our tax information, KC. But I'd just say "screw it" and pay the $10 fee. Speaking of taxes; We got our property tax bill. I know that this is a seller's-market since everyone is overpaying for houses now, but I hadn't expected such a jump in what they value our property at. Of course, the amount we have to pay taxes on.

YIPPEE! Yesterday was sunny all day. And today it will be too. But today it will be going a freckle over freezing. I remote start my car every day to keep the battery charged, and have the heater clear off the windshield. Since I haven't driven it in days, now all the snow on the rest of it may melt.

Good Sunday morning to you all.
Just like yesterday it was dark at 6:00 am this morning.
With the digital age I would think that paper and ink newspapers would want to keep their customers Dave, not give them cause to quit home deliveries. Deep chested dogs are those like Greyhounds, Great Danes, Whippets, Irish Setters and so on. If their chest kind of goes to their elbows they are considered “deep chested”. Because they can be prone to “bloat” they should not be fed right before or right after exercise.
I hope you paid attention because there will be a test.
The weather guessers really don’t seem to have a clue about todays forecast. It might rain. It might not. It may reach the upper 60’s, but maybe not. I’m just glad that we’re all back in the hutch to enjoy whatever the day may bring.
Stay safe and well everyone.

Good Sunday morning, gang. Feeling a heck of a lot better this Sunday than last Sunday for sure. Read back over all I missed and have proceeded to forget 99% of it all, so forgive me if I don't make a comment. I'm also still pretty loopy from all the meds I'm still on. Oh, to have Tony here to make a comment about that line. I'm sure he's hysterical laughing!!

Karen - Glad Scooter is one strong cat , after all. Good for her. Sorry to hear about another loss in Wendy's family.

Sorry for all the snow and freezing weather some of you up north have been getting. Also glad us southern belles were able to provide a few nice days once again to our snow bunnies spending time with us right now. We may be in for a few hilly days (sorry Lee, that you need your big boy pants for these early morning walks right now), but it will get better.

Lee - How long will you and Lu-Ann be here this year? Still hoping for our trip to True Blue before you head home.

So now for the tale of my problems ... Seems like a little over a week ago apparently I started to retain water again and my oxygen level kept going down every time I even took a few steps. By Saturday night I was really struggling for breath, even while wearing oxygen. I finally admitted that I needed to go and get checked out. Of course, it would be freezing outside and I have no winter coat, so I had to go wrapped in blankets. So glad Celebration Hospital has valet parking, so they met us right at the door and in I went. It took until Sunday to get me into a real room and then they started testing for blood clots, heart problems and anything else they could think of. It all came down to keeping my O2 level up and they found that the best way to do that was for me to wear a breathing gizmo overnight. It was similar to a Cpap (I think that's what it's called) It really works. O2 is way up and and I feel so much better. They made me stay an extra day in the hospital until they could order a unit for me to take home with me. It arrived Friday, and so I came home.

Now I have to deal with follow up appointments and lots of home health appointments. For sure things will be busy around here in the coming weeks, but that's good. I need to get into the best shape for our cruise the end of this month, because, hell or high water, we are going on this anniversary cruise.

So now you have the whole story and it's time for me to get off here for now. The rest of the family are just showing up in the kitchen (except Bert, of course!), so I can't wait to see what they're making for breakfast today.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone, no matter what you have planned. Be good and stay safe!

It’s VERY SUNNY HERE IN DETROIT SUBURBS! Freezing cold at the same time .

DAVE: We shut down the water at the main and for extra measure we turn off the water at the toilet tanks too. And then just worry the whole time we are away! I’d give anything to turn the clocks back and have those worries again. I MISS BRING AWAY. Although this year would have been a “chilly one” by the Gulf coast. But still warmer than here!

Okay, must remember for TEST:
Deep chested
Bloat
Greyhounds,
Great Danes,
Whippets,
Irish Setters
No food before or after exercising (walks)

Pat: You make sure to DO EXACTLY what they told you to do while at Celebration. Hope all the pets in the house right now aren’t adding to your breathing issues. Take care we need you in this extended family.

I have nothing else right now.
Debating as to if I’m going to ho pay my respects to the man who passed away from our church. It’s open for visitation at 3:00 pm today. I could go early and skip the usually crowded memorial service that is at 6:00 pm. It would be a VERY QUICK masked viewing.

Enjoy your day folks. Be back later.

A late good morning. I have been pretty much bed ridden since late Wednesday but am almost all better today. Of course since the reason for being bed ridden is gone something else has popped up, right ankle hurts so bad the early had to use a cane. But that is better now.

I have read thru every post so am caught up.

Dave, no real exercise. my back and legs don't agree with it. I do have a sit and pedal bike but since I mainly wear flip flops can't really use it and when I have I can only do a few minutes so guess I need to get rid of it. And because we have laminate flooring have to have it on a yoga mat to keep it from sliding. A number of years ago I had to physical therapy and one thing was to be on a thread mill, well the therapist hears my one knee popping with each step so off it I came and was told to never get on one again.

We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher. One nice thing is it has a 1 hour start to finish wash and that includes heated dry. Found that even with that the walls and floor are not completely dry but all the items are and everything came out very clean.

Will be watching the full NASCAR shows today which start at 2. Have no idea if the races will be crash fests or what. This is the shortest track since the 70's. Most of the races today will only have 9 cars but the main will be 23 so that one could be a crash fest.

Bruce is putting tile down in the utility room today where the old water heater had been. Once all done the rack we put in there can be set so you can really see what is where, will be nice.

It is another overcast day here and the temp right now is 71, don't now if it will go any higher or not.

Everyone have a great day.

A coolish day here in Central Florida.
I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better Nancy. Hopefully the ankle will feel better soon too. I wondered where you had gotten off to.
We have another five weeks Pat so hopefully (please, please) we can get a True Blue day in. Again, I am so glad that you went to Celebration Hospital. Let’s keep everything that can be crossed, crossed, that you’re on the mend. Just please make sure that you are up to doing your cruise.
Put on your party hat Kathie! You got an A+.
Hungry Back To School GIF by Papa John’s

We shared the BEST slice of salted caramel cake we have ever eaten. Heck, the best piece of cake of any kind!! We went to Gideon’s Bakehouse at The East End Market in Orlando. The location wasn’t what we were expecting but that slice of cake, WOW!
The court was dry so we played about 45 minutes of pickle ball to work off some of the cake. We just got back from our walk with the pups so we will wait, as our ”A“ student Kathie pointed out, for a bit before their dinner.
Forgot to ask you Bill, did you get the email with my address?
I can guarantee whatever we have for dinner will not be very much tonight!
See you all

Moan-Day has returned.

Excellent detailed explanation of why you were in the hospital, BB. I'm guessing that that new machine you got to help your breathing is pretty much the same as a CPAP machine, but instead of just forcing room air into your lungs, it enhances it with oxygen too. Happy to see that you're in so much better shape than you were a week ago.

I'll be honest Lee.; I was cheating off of K2's test paper on deep-chested dogs, when she jumped up and turned in her paper. So I was screwed.

K2; As for you teacher's-pet, write slower. So did you make it to the viewing? Thanks to Covid, I'm still skittish about attending those things.

Ouch on that ankle, Nancy. Not only is there ankle pain, but they usually swell up too.

I was thinking of getting one of those pedaling gadgets you use while sitting in a chair. But yesterday I really lucked out. Kathi thought the wife of one of her sons had one. So she sent her son a text asking if she liked it. He said that she had 2 of them and if I wanted one I could have it. (Anything to help clean out his basement.)

It turns out his wife had 2 stationary bicycles, and that's what he brought over. He brought it in pieces since it's so heavy. It's like brand new, and a top of the line. It had to be rather expensive. All steel and no plastic. He put it together in the dining room. Now that it's been put to the test, Kathi and I have to figure out how to get it to the basement. It'll be going right next to the treadmill.

I'm a lucky lad.

No, I don’t know why I’m up at 5:30. Again.
I stationary bikes Dave. Well, the one we have at home. The gym here has a Peloton. The seat may be fine for a young perfectly shaped butt, but, it’s the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever tried to sit on. It sounds like a good bike that they dropped off. What with your tv already by the treadmill you'll be all set. Really nice that fella brought it over and set it up for free!
I‘m always amazed at the amount of traffic in a residential community at this time of day. With so many places displaying “help wanted“ signs they can’t be going to work!
I hope everyone’s aches and pains are feeling better and those without any don’t find some! Oh wait. At our ages I suspect we all have some aches or pains. ;)

Enjoy your Monday everyone. I’ll check in on you later on.

Good morning from our little corner of the world. Kind of grim and foggy out there right now and only 55 but supposed to get better and warm up to the low 70s.

Dave - How nice to get that stationary bike to give you additional exercise for your legs! Now you can ride a bike, and walk a couple of miles on the treadmill and end up in the same place you started ... your basement. What a great concept!! LOL

Lee - Your comment about the number of people in neighborhoods here during the day sounded like Bert. He's always amazed and comments about the amount of traffic on the roads in the middle of the day. I remind him all the time that he and lots of other seniors add to this amount of traffic, in addition to people going from place to place during their daily lives.

Going to be a busy morning for me, so I better get to work. I have all sorts of doctor appointments to set up, as sell as in house therapy to schedule for this week. Fun, huh? Hopefully, I'll get a chance to drop back later to see wat all the bunnies are up to. In the meantime, keep warm and behave yourselves!

No email from you Lee and I can't blame USPS for that. Rita tells me that there was a fee of $1.10 to file the mail forwarding request. Guess you get what you pay for.:-) Did get a followup email from the fellow at the East Bridgewater PO promising to see that our mail is promptly forwarded, so we shall see. There was one tax info piece in Saturday's mail do perhaps things will improve over the next week.
We have a Whirlpool dishwasher in this condo, Nancy and it does a very good job and is pretty quiet as well, so if our experience is worth anything you should be pleased with yours.
Been watching the Winter Olympics and find it a bit amusing how much the judges marks seem to differ from what one would expect by listening to the commentaries from the "expert narrators".
A cool and gray start to the week this morning and the weather reports indicate that we may have more of the same for at least the rest of the week.

A late good morning. Well most of my aches and pains are gone, but the padding around my right thumb is hurting and swollen. The Busch Light Clash last night was pretty good. No where near the wrecks I thought would happen.

We have 18 days until our Silhouette cruise. I am ready.

Dave I don't have any room for a stationary bike but would love one. We are in a two bedroom house of 1358 sf. We have a large living room an large great room/dining room, which has two desks in it and of course one wall has sliding doors to the back yard.

All have a great day.

sweating work out GIF by Jake
KEEP AT IT DAVE! Now you just need to get the young man to come back WITH A FRIEND and move that bike downstairs. You’ll soon have a set-up like Art has. All you knee is a Rowing Machine!

Got up early this morning and drive Art to his Retina appt. Seems that waiting long to get the shot isn’t a good plan. Now he’s back to every 8 weeks. And get this, his doctor is going on MATERNITY LEAVE SOON and HER father will be taking over her patients. Art doesn’t like him, but is just going along with it for the time his doctor will be off.

I went to our Kroger grocery store and was able to get 3 of the KN95 masks at the service desk. You just have to ask for them. No name taken.

Seems like the shortage at the grocery store this trip was cooking SALT.
Guess people are using more salt because they are cooking and baking more at home or they use it on their steps to melt the ice!
It’s not often you need to replace SALT in your cupboards, so this shortage struck me as funny.

PAT: Great explanation on your recent stay at Hotel CELEBRATION! Nice to know the C-pac is going to make sure get enough oxygen while sleeping. The BEST thing is you didn’t wait too long to get checked out. Good going!
Do you still think you will be able to do the upcoming Cruise?

We’re having Pork chops mixed in Golden Cream of Mushroom soup. With wide noodles and carrots. Easy and yummy.

KC: How’s little Scooter doing?
What type of projects are you into these days. We all know you are always busy.

Lee: Hope the temps get a tad HIGHER for you guys. Anything interesting on your to do list! Like visiting a vineyard?

Nancy did you watch the car races on TV or go in person?

Bill: Did you read about the cruise snips being captured because they OWE Millions in back UNPAID FUEL bills. The article said the crew is enjoying their time out and all the frills of the ship!

Out of here for now. My LONG Afghan is almost done. I’ll miss the warmed on my legs while I have been doing this project!

Dave: The funeral for the man at our church will have to go on WITHOUT me. I know the type of folks this man hung around with and just wasn’t taking a chance of being around all the Non-Vax’ers! That includes one of our 2 priest. I don’t want to be anywhere near that fool that we are supporting when he could care less about getting vaccinated. I might slap him a few times!
:oops::eek::mad:

Brief check in from me just to say Hi & glad to see everyone is improving health wise...even Scooter is still hanging in there & doing ok...long day of running around...Dr. appt. at 8:20 this morning...had to wait almost 30 mins. before they took me back...not a happy camper about that...of course they found a spot that needed scraped & biopsied..after that it was on to running errands..
Got home just after 12 to find out my sister Jane had taken a tumble...she went to sit down in a rolling desk chair...only it had rolled out from under her & she went down hard on her tail bone...I went over this evening & took her some dinner & my heating pad...she is going to be plenty sore for a while...now I need a nice hot drink & some time to relax...tomorrow is another dr. appt...but not quite as early...the joy's of growing older!

Can we make it to 4 days in a row? Surprisingly it's been sunny here for three days in a row. Not much snow melting though since the temperature has been hovering around freezing. So most of the snow on the ground and on people's roofs will be around for weeks.

Hang in there Scooter! Any time you or I go to a skin doctor it's pretty much guaranteed they will find something that needs looked at, KC. The curse of many years in the sun. Hope Jane's butt is feeling better today.

Speaking of sore butts; I've got one too. As Lee mentioned, even those expensive bikes and stationary bikes come with lousy seats for us average people. The designers should be forced to use them before they put them out on the market. I rode my "new" stationary bike for 1/2 an hour yesterday. I wasn't into it for 15 minutes before my rear-end was hurting. I'm one of those people that has no butt. No meat on that puppy. It was like sitting on a solid sharp brick. So now there is a nice soft and cushy seat ordered, and will be arriving in a few days.

K2; That must have been interesting repoing a cruise ship for unpaid fuel bills. I'd love to know what the captain said when officials took possession. I never thought grocery stores handed out KN95 masks. There must be a pharmacy there.

You better warn Bert that there will be more and more people moving around the neighborhood during work-days, BB. Our population is getting older with greater numbers of people retiring. You never thought that frequently getting out of the house meant just seeing more doctors.

Bill; Oddly enough, most of our appliances are made by GE. But we do have a Whirlpool washing machine.

We too have a very small house, Nancy. I still remember my mother's comment when she first saw it, "What a cute little doll house". But our saving grace is having a basement. But then again, it gives us the ability to keep stuff down there that we probably should throw out.

After using the treadmill, breakfast this morning will be an especially fiery hot noodle concoction. Even this fire-eater knows that this one must be eaten in small portions. But it is sooo good.

I am angry. I apologize to everyone for any shelves that may be bare because of the brainless antivax Canadian truckers who are blocking so many land crossings. They are preventing the flow of goods between our countries. Frankly these uneducated bums are an embarrassment to not only me as a visitor to The USA but to all good Canadians.
Off to Apopka today to pick up the gastro food for Katie and Ava. 18 pound bag and 6 cans run about $90.00USD. Nope, can’t claim that on income tax either.
You all behave today please.

Good TUESDAY morning all.

I have nothing for you folks right now.
BUT DO NOT FEAR..... I'll be back as the saying goes! Enjoy your day. It's sunny and cold here.

Greetings this nippy Florida morning. Brrrr ... plus heavy rain due this afternoon. Perfect day for the chicken noodle soup I plan to make for dinner.

Karen - Bert can't go to the dermo without getting some spots removed. That seems to be standard with people of our generation. We grew up as sun worshipers and knew nothing of the dangers of the sun. Instead worked to get the darkest tan possible. Very fair skin is now paying for this. I hope Jane's tail is better today, but it will definitely take a while for it all to go away.

Dave - Your tale about the new bike seat sure hit it's mark to me. I'm another one of those no real butt people and find it uncomfortable to sit for prolong periods of time on many different things, including bed. I'm always squirming around.

Kathie - Nothing to say this morning? Wow! That's a surprise. I've got a good one for you that I keep forgetting to tell you - Seems like for Christmas one of the kids gave Bert one of those food saver gizmos to freeze these huge orders he gets. Well stubborn husband that I have hasn't even opened the box yet! He's left it in a pile of stuff not being used right now. What's that old saying about how you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink? Meet my old horse!!!

You all know I like to make big meals. Last night I planned a 3 lb piece of salmon to be baked with lemon and butter with fettucine alfredo with asparagus on the side. I can make this meal in my sleep. Instead I had to direct G&E to make it and it was amazing to get their version of the same directions in a different room. Most of it was ok, especially that expensive salmon. Biggest disappointment was the fettucine was allowed to clump and some of it was hard as a rock. I had to give a cooking lesson on how she should have put some olive oil in the cooking water before putting in the pasta. Actually it was too funny. Plus Gary used double the amount of pasta I told them to make.

Got the guy from that breathing machine company coming this morning to install the modem on it to keep track of my use of it. I really love this thing. I'm getting the best sleep I've had in ages and not waking up all night long. Of course, there's nothing sexy about this thing, but you can always dream, can't you? LOL Best part is that I will be able to take this with us on our cruise. I'm a happy camper!!!

On that note, I'm going to get out of here for now and have a bit of breakfast before this guy gets here. Have a good day, everyone. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay safe.

Gray and gloomy out today and it was difficult to even want to get out of bed after a poor night of sleeping. I had a similar experience three nights ago but slept well the second night (probably because I was still exhausted from the night before. Perhaps that means I will sleep well tonight.
Yesterday started out the same way but once the clouds cleared and the sun came out it became warmer and much more pleasant.
Arcades seem to have popped up in every strip mall in Florida, so yesterday we decided to check out the one nearest to our condo. Relatively dark and gloomy inside with a few dozen slot machines and very few people when we went in. We didn't stay very long and Rita had little or no luck on the slots she played. I however, put a total of $60 into the three machines that I played and walked out with $109. Better than I frequently do at full scale casinos.
Looks like rain and cool temperatures are coming our way for the rest of the week. There seems to be a definite difference in our local weather in Indian River County from what is present in the counties just south of us. About a 10 degree difference between here in Vero Beach and the temperatures in West Palm Beach.
I think you are talking about Crystal Cruises, K2,a luxury line that recently declared bankruptcy and moved one of its ships to a port in the Bahamas to avoid it being seized by creditors. Don't think that is a likely problem for the three or four mass market lines like RCI, Princess, or Carnival.
I guess that while the Winter Olympics are on television, there is little or no hope that the other networks will be showing anything other than more repeats.

We’re back from picking up the dog food in Apopka.
Now, I sit here in my long pants, long sleeve shirt and socks gazing out at the steam rising from the pool as the rain bounces off the patio. Then I think to myself “It’s a darned site better than the 27F, clouds and flurries that they are seeing at home today.”
Glad you profited during your trip to the mini casino Bill.
I suspect that you directing G&E on a recipe is much like that old game where you whisper something to the person beside you Pat. It goes around the room and by the time it gets back it may or may not be close to the original. I think Bert has been too worried about you to get that food saver up and running.
Good on ya for spending 30 minutes on the bike Dave. Maybe today you can pedal it! :D I think that many basements become storage areas for stuff that should be chucked in the bin too Dave. At least if the basement is full or partially finished it cuts down the urge to never throw stuff away.
How is Jane today Karen. OUCH! May all your test come back with good results!
Hopefully you are doing well too Nancy.

I'll be back as the saying goes!
I for one am counting on it Kathie!
