Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Yikes, Pat...sounds like it's time to set some ground rules or raise the rent! Laundry everyday??? Good luck with "the talk"...

$178 later & Scooter is home...she still has an ear infection so another 2 weeks on the ear drops...and her blood pressure is not as good as it was before...could be related to the ears/pancreatitis so the vet wants to re-check both in 2 weeks....she's also going to have the BP meds formulated into a chicken flavor liquid which hopefully I will be able to get into her easier...now it's time for some dinner and a glass of wine....or 2....night all!

Oh PAT.... that doing laundry every day has got to stop. They must have more than one set of clothes to wear! And the dirty underwear .... well, I know you'll have that under control ASAP.
How are your former houseguests doing in their new home? Do you hear much from them lately?

Karen: I feel so sorry for your bank account lately. ALWAYS SOMETHING. Hope Scooter gets better with all these drugs and visits to the Vet.

Our Dinner was Yummy. Peas soup with veggies and ham meat in it and fresh bread. We both took some GAS-X pills before we dug into the meal. Pea soup can be very gassy! :emoticon 0138 thinking: :emoticon 0101 sadsmile: Oh if only Tony was around to JUMP on that last statement! Ha Ha.

I put in a long day today. Stripped 2 beds and washed all the blankets we snuggle with while watching TV. Made the beds with fresh linens. Ran around looking at all kinds of "STUFF" and then heated up dinner for us.

Off to watch some more of the movie.

Bill what have you guys been up to lately??

Almost a weekend.

As for getting a cruise refund K2, It's still in the works. I've now got 2 of my doctors willing to state that they recommend I not go on a cruise at this time because of Covid, my age, and current physical condition. But I'm still waiting on one of the doctors to mail me the papers.

The cruise line only wants to keep giving me cruise credits, and not a refund. So we are filing a medical claim to the cruise insurance company.

BB; Very few things were missing from the grocery store shelves. Less than I expected. But we couldn't find any distilled water, Tyson hot-wings, the brand of dog food we normally buy, and Claritin-D at their pharmacy. The only reason we went to this larger grocery store is because I'd run out of Claritin-D. The pharmacist said that they haven't been able to get any of it in a month.

Sorry to hear that Scooter had to visit the Vet again, KC. Sucks that you got another dose of skin cancer.

Nothing much else to gab about this morning. In a bit I'll be riding the stationary bike. Its' new soft seat is suppose to be delivered today. Still haven't got that thing to the basement. At the moment it's in the living room so I can watch movies while I'm on it.

Good morning! Ah, the start of what should be a beautiful weekend around here with no rain in sight and temps in the 70s & 80s. You're welcome, snowbirds!! :)

Karen - Poor Scooter. She just can't seem to catch a break, can she? It's always something. You're such a good pet mommy with the way you take her to the vet all the time. Good for you.

Dave - I read an article this morning and they were saying that chicken wings have gone ski high in price. What some restaurants were charging .75/wing last year and now charging $2.00 a piece. There's no excuse for that. I wanted to get some wings for Sunday, but I'm not so sure now.
You'll have to let us know how that new bike seat works. When the therapist was here yesterday, he suggested I get one of those purple gel pads to sit on with my bony butt. I ordered one and it will be here next week. If it's good, I can use it in the car, in the wheelchair and even on my scooter seat during the cruise. Wish me luck.

Kathie - I really dread our next water bill. It was bad enough when M&J were here, but this is going to be ridiculous. Between all the laundry and the showers, I can just imagine the meter spinning away. The 18 year old takes 2 or 3 showers a day!! He's also the one that as soon as he gets home from school, takes a shower and immediately puts his clothes in the washer. He's on the wrestling team and he does get smelly, but he's got to hold those clothes in a bag for an extra day. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Lee - Let's see if we can get together next week one afternoon at True Blue Winery before we run out of time for a visit. Would that work for you? Let me know. The following week we'll be gathering everything for our cruise and don't want to run short of time to see you and Lu-Ann.

That's about it for me for right now. Got a nurse from home health coming in about an hour. This really is getting old. Having someone come everyday going over the same things daily is a waste to me. I'm not going to make any appointments over the next couple of days as we have to go to Orlando tomorrow, Sunday the gang will be here for the Super Bowl and Monday I have a pulmonologist appointment. Unfortunately, couldn't get the appointment at our local office and have to go to Orlando for it. Bummer. Home health gets paid every time they see a patient, so they want to fill every little slot. :(

Time for a cup of tea before the gal gets here. Have a wonderful start to your weekend. If you're out and about, be careful and stay safe. Have a good one, gang!

Good morning. Ran a couple of errands and weighed myself and sure was right the scale on Tuesday was way off. Temps here today and tomorrow are in mid 70s then drop on Sunday. I have almost everything on the back shelving unit. Hopefully later I can get the new unit in place and full.

Am still not feeling 100% or even 75%. So I do rest a lot.

All have a great day.

Good LATE MORNING gang.

Nothing going on over here in PURE MICHIGAN. Waiting to see if it's really going to snow/sleet/rain or whatever! :icon rolleyes:

I see somebody popped on while I have been posting. Let me go see who it is!
It was Nancy!
Hope you get your other 25% of feeling better back soon! :clap002: Keep working on those shelves.

PAT: You have a revolving door going on at your place. You must have a BIG SCRATCH PAD or CALENDAR to keep track of all those appts. All the best girl. Do you have one of those exercise bikes to put that padded seat cushion on?
The WATER BILL ISSUE wouldn't be a problem for me at all. I would just HAND IT TO GARY and say.... this is yours to pay! Much cheaper than if he and Elaine had to rent a place for all these months they will be with you.

Wish we were down there to go to TRUE BLUE Winery with you all. Have a few glasses of wine for us!

DAVE: Don't give up on that REFUND of the cruise. Call the doctors office and ask for the paperwork. You might need to get it to the cruise lines BEFORE the cruise. Can't believe they're putting you guys through all this to get your money back. Are there CRUISE REFUND LAWYERS out there that could help?

Out of here for now. The REST of you LOVELY WRABBITS have a good day and come and chat soon!

Had a nice day yesterday, celebrating our 54th anniversary. Can't believe that so many years have passed. Spent about half an hour in the sun by the pool with Rita, Dianne, Jeanette and Phil. Notice I said "at" the pool not "in" the pool. Even with the warmer temperatures I have seen very few folks actually in the water.
No movie night, K2 but there are several activities listed on the community calendar. Last night we celebrated with a fine dinner at a local Italian restaurant. We went early which was a good move, because we were seated immediately. When we were finished and were leaving, the restaurant was full and there was a line of people outside who
were being told that there would be an hour and half wait.
I'm not sure why but, perhaps because the bed is comfortable and with the blinds closed the condo is dark even on sunny days, I am finding it more and more difficult to get out of bed at a reasonable hour of the morning. Breakfast is more and more becoming brunch. Of course the fact that we have no special plans for the day, may factor in as well.
Our upcoming cruise is at the end of the month K2. It is a celebration of Jamie's 50th birthday and has been delayed for two years primarily because of Covid. We have 20 people in our group and the cruise is 8 nights and visits Aruba, Curaçao, and Coco Cay.

Good afternoon folks.
Not much to chat about. Frankly I was tired yesterday having had Ava out every couple of hours during the night.
Karen, Ava is on Forti-Flora probiotic at breakfast and Metronidazole breakfast and dinner time. She has been better today. I do hope that wee Scooter keeps getting stronger too! As long as your damned “c” word is superficial we will all hope it’s a simple fix!
Appliances Kathie? Our friends who moved down were told most appliances were at least 3 months on back order. Not even “specialty“ ones. Why. Well, as with everything these days we’ll blame Covid related supply chain issues. Lu-Ann and I tried to book a room at P and B‘s B&B but the calendar kept saying “not available for your selected dates”. We may try A and K’s B&B in MI for mid March. Just in case the border is still messed up or our Covid results are delayed.
Let us check the calendar for next week Pat. I know True Blue is open Wednesday through Saturday. I‘ll email or call you. I hope your “chat” goes well.
Hearty (foolish?…it’s a fine line) Canadian that I am Bill, I was in the pool this afternoon and dangled my feet in the hot tub portion yesterday.
Gosh now Nancy, with that cruise coming up I hope you get feeling like yourself soon too!
We notice different things missing from the shelves at Publix here Dave. Jack Daniel‘s Pulled Chicken being one of them. Once I get down to 1 unopened cream I buy another. Dog food…ours are on Purina Vet Diet “EN“ for sensitive digestive systems. The greyhound vet in Apopka is having a heck of a time getting it in. It comes in 6lb, 18lb and 32lb sizes. We brought 32 with us and have been lucky to get a couple of 18 pounders…
Tomorrow is our annual trip to The Polynesian Village for breakfast at The Kona Cafe. Tonga toast, macadamia pancakes and a side of hardening of the arteries… But it’s our tradition.
Dryer just went off. That was our pool towels and bathing suits drying. You all have a fantastic, no, make that a FANTASTIC!, rest of the day.

Good evening y'all! After my nurse's visit earlier today, we sort of just chilled for a while. Then it was off to Dollar Tree to pick up the rest of what was needed for that lotion. Got everything, so I will mix it up tomorrow, maybe. Just got one question ... Where can I buy some essential oils? Never used them and now I want to give a scent to this lotion. Help!!

Almost time to heat up these leftover Chinese dishes and hope to empty all of them out of the refrigerator to make room for the stuff I will make tomorrow for our super bowl gathering. Lee - Send me a message or call and we can get together, if possible. I see a bottle of Crazy Good possibly coming home with us.

You snow birds are so funny when it comes to going in the pool. Seems like the further north you live the more likely you're going to go in the pool. Us Floridians? Unless the pool water is over 85, we won't even stick our toe in the water!! Temp also has to be in the 90s.

Time to shut down for tonight and get this crew goin on dinner. Have a great evening. See ya tomorrow.

Try Amazon Pat. Walgreens, CVS and the like may carry them too.

It's Super Bowl Eve, Bunnies!

I haven't seen it, but I understand that there is at least one Budweiser commercial this year.

How cool BB, getting one of those purple gel pads to sit on. As far as my new soft and wide bike seat, it wasn't delivered yesterday. As of yesterday afternoon, Fed-Ex had it in some place called Grove City, Ohio. 2 or 3 showers a day? That's a bit obsessive.

Nothing wrong with resting when you're not feeling well, Nancy.

K2; Great solution to all the showers and laundry being done at BB's house.

A VERY dark room is a great place to fall asleep, Bill. Or sleep-in. There was a news story in the last few days saying those little night-lights can interrupt sleep. We've got black-out curtains in our bedroom.

Lee; They have GOT to have Kona coffee at that Kona cafe. I give, what is Tonga toast?

Hoping that Scooter is doing better today, KC. That gal sure has had her problems lately.

Nothing much planned today. Now that I'm completely out of Claritin-D I need to take a trip to Walley-World's pharmacy to see if they have any.

Good Morning Wrabbits! Sun is almost peeking out between the clouds. At least it BRIGHT OUT THERE! Still haven’t seen any of that snow the Accu weather keeps throwing on my computer!

BB: Lee gave a good list of finding those Essential Oils. Publix should have them too in the pharmacy isle or beauty isles. Most start at $7 - 12 bucks a bottle depending on the scent. I wonder if you could use your baking Vanilla? Won’t be as strong, but who knows!!

So did you have that “Bathroom & Water Bill” discussion? Hope so.

Lee:
Have you tried other local Vets to get your “special dog food”? I’m sure they would understand that you are from ‘out of the country’ and in need of the special food! Just SWEET TALK them.
As for open dates at our Bed & Breakfast, they are filling up fast with all the Snowbirds coming home and worrying about getting through the border. But we’ll keep a room open for you Wrabbits! Just give me a 2 day notice so I can make sure the room is all in order. By the way all we can save is a room with a Double Bed! But it come with a full size computer. (no charge)

Dave: Sure hope your new soft seat arrives soon! Hate to hear that your BONEY BUTT is suffering such pain! Ha ha. Try going to a small out of the area drug store for that Claritin. Might try Target. Call first to save running around. I almost needed one of those pills this morning. I think the dampness outside and creeped into the house and gave me a stuffy nose.

Yesterday, I didn’t have ANY COFFEE and by noon I had a slight headache which continues into the evening. This morning I had a cup of coffee, as I usually do; and headache GONE! I guess you can say I’m addicted!

KC:
Hope things are “purring” along over your way. I can just imagine how much the Chicken infused meds will cost for Scooter. Hope it helps get the meds into her! Do you put it in her food or do you have to squirt it in her mouth? I’d be wearing a thick jacket to avoid getting scratched! I’ve seen people put a bath towel around the kitty to get a better hold on them. What ever works! Good luck! You are the BEST KITTY NURSE AROUND!

Bill: Good to read that you and Rita beat the crowds for the Anniversary Dinner date! Again, Happy Anniversary. That’s a nice crowd you have going on that cruise. Hope Jamie will be well enough to attend. Not exactly what I’d want o be doing after being in the hospital, but I’m sure she’ll make the right chouce for herself.

Out of here for now! You all know the DRILL BY NOW! Just DO IT.
Be back later.

Good morning. Well yesterday I had a pain so big it was to bed for me and I spent most of the day in bed. Only really wat one meal as I tried but just could not eat lunch. Feeling a bit better today so hope I can stay up.

All have a great day.

Good morning, bunnies! No time to write much this morning (aren't you lucky?). Getting ready to head for Orlando to figure out where this office for my pulmonologist is located. I couldn't get an appointment at either of the offices that are close to us. SO now I get to see another one! We like to take the ride first to see where we're going rather than trying to find the office on a workday with people coming and going in Orlando.

Then it's home to fix a few things for tomorrow's gathering. I want to make a Velvetta cheese log with green chilies for on crackers, as well as fix, but not yet bake sausage stuffed mushrooms. Bert picked up 3 lbs of steamer clams yesterday at Restaurant Depot, so that will be our lunch. I get 2 lobs and Bert gets 1, if he eats fast. I love those things when we can get them. He also picked up some small clams that we will make clams on the half shell tomorrow, if an of the gang is interested. If not, we'll eat them ourselves.

So let me get going. If you're lucky (?), I'll be back later when I need a break. Have a wonderful Saturday, gang!

Good afternoon!
Well Belles, you’ve presented us with another picture postcard kind of day. Thank you.
Sorry for the sideways picture. That, in all it’s glory, is breakfast. In the foreground is Tonga Toast Dave. Sour Dough French toast stuffed with bananas and rolled in cinnamon sugar.
In the back is the macadamia pancakes with pineapple. We only do stuff like that once a year and we certainly did enjoy it.
Then we walked from The Poly over to The Grand Floridian, had a look around there, hopped the monorail to the Contemporary for another quick look around. Back on the monorail to The Poly and headed home.

Sorry to hear that you are still under the weather Nancy.
How are things up your way Karen? Sister and Kitty both on the mend?
Hmmm. Seems that the requirement for a PCR test 72 hours before we cross to home may not be required Kathie. When do we need to cancel our reservation by so we won’t be charged. ;)

All the vets here seem to be having trouble getting special diets in
It's such a guessing game if you have to travel to Orlando and use I4 to get there Pat. Some days and times we just fly across. Other times I’m ready to bail before we get to Buena Vista Blvd. That sounds like some spread for the gang tomorrow. Check your email…
I do believe that there is a glass of wine waiting for me by the pool. We bring our own Tervis wine glasses with lids. No, we really do!
Enjoying your day too Bill?
You all have a fabulous Saturday!

Lee: NO CANCELLATION FEE needed at our B&B Home!
I can't blame you for bringing your own Tervis wine glasss. They're safe around the pool. We were at the company store outside of Sarasota on Hwy 41 years ago. Everything and anything in Tervis plastic and more. Great place.

Now about that fantastic looking breakfast. YUM! I don't think people our age should deny themselves 'rich' breakfast foods. And in your case, you've got at least 50 more good years on those new "pipes" you had replaced earlier this year. Might as well take advantage of the warranty! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:  Just kidding. All in good limitations! Now when do you go for another one of those Strawberry Shortcakes? ;)

KC: I forgot to ask about Jane. How's she doing? I know it took Art a good 3 weeks with his bike fall to stop feeling the aches around his ribcage. I'm sure Jane will feel bruised for a while yet.

Nancy sure hope you'll be feeling good soon. Get outside and soak in some of that free Vitamin C when it shows up.

Going to try and make the gang some Chocolate
fudgy cookies filled with Marshmallow cream filling and then dipped in melted Chocolate. They look like Hostess Ding Dong cupcakes on top..... if you remember what they look like.
1644696888687.png Here's the picture from the recipe! Kind of cute! I won't be sending any with 'bite-marks' in them! Ha Ha.

Okay, I'm due for a fresh cup of coffee. Haven't gotten ANYTHING DONE today. Just one of those "surfing the web" type of days. Gotta get it out of my system.

Good afternoon....another one of those where did the time go kind of days...
Dave, good luck on the Claritin D search...hope you don't get mobbed by all the last minute super bowl shoppers!

Pat, good idea doing a test run on the Dr's office...I did the same thing last week after I left the ENT...did a test run to the eye Dr's office in the Villages...and glad I did...the route I took went thru all the little neighborhoods with gates & round abouts galore...going to take a different route on Monday...a mile or so longer...but at least it's main roads.
Lee, your breakfast looks amazing!! Are you sure you don't want to schedule a couple more visits while you are here...after all you did miss your annual visit a couple years running...Hope Miss Ava is feeling better...Scooter is on the Forta-Flora also...
Kathie, your marshmallow cookies sound YUM!! Hostess cupcakes are my Favorite! The vet's office called me yesterday to let me know they had called in Scooter's prescription & the pharmacy is supposed to call me with the pricing...depending on the price she may or may not switch to liquid...if it's crazy expensive I will just keep doing what I'm doing...if it's not to bad then yes, I will be able to put it in her food, it's supposed to be chicken flavored, so hopefully she will take it without any problems...
Bill, Belated Anniversary wishes to you & Rita....sounds like a nice evening out to celebrate! And your cruise sounds amazing! I can't believe I haven't been on a cruise since 2018...I'm so ready to book if I could keep from spending all my money on Vet bills...
Went to Jane's this morning to deliver a bookcase to her...she is feeling better...but still VERY sore...with her kidney disease she really tries to avoid taking pain medicine whenever possible, so that is slowing down the healing process too, because of the
inflammation....lucky for me she felt well enough today to fix me breakfast...Ham & cheese omelet & homefried potato's...she was going to make biscuts...but since I showed up earlier than I'd told her I would she didn't make them...oh well...it was all good...Now I'm ready to heat up some of the bbq pork she sent home with me & have some dinner...catch you all tomorrow!

Time for me to say good night. Went to the Grille tonight with Elaine's son who was home. The rest of them were spending the night with Elaine's father and staying overnight. Too funny that when we offered to take Ryan with us we said the magic words -OUR TREAT!! He jumped on that. LOL

Now it's time to chill for a while and just relax before it's time for bed. see you all in the morning. Sleep well, gang!:sleep002::sleepey smile:

There's a crack in the smile but my butt-cheeks are smiling now that the new bike seat arrived yesterday. Much, much more comfortable on my derriere.

Not a good morning to go grocery shopping with the Super Bowl at around 6PM. Not to mention the Puppy Bowl around 2PM.

But it's your last chance to get that 75 inch TV to watch the game on.

YUMMY looking Hostess cupcake cookies, K2. So how many did Art scarf down for "quality control"?

There couldn't have been very many calories in that breakfast, Lee. Wink-wink. I see that the Canadian police have cleared trucks from one border bridge. With all the job losses and businesses in trouble because of these road blockages, some of the truckers may have had it dawn on them that public opinion was really turning against them. And they dispersed peacefully.

"Well yesterday I had a pain so big it was to bed for me..." Zip for details, Nancy. Whatever it is, hope you feel better today.

As expected, you'll have quite a spread to watch the Super Bowl and the commercials, BB. Bet there won't be much left afterwards.

KC; Good thinking on doing a test run to see where doctors office is. Nothing worse than getting all lost on the actual day of your appointment. They did have the Claritin D at Walley World.

Yes the Rams are favored. But I'm sticking with the underdogs. GO BENGALS!!!

Gotta CHEER for STADFORD!

Good Sunday Morning Wrabbits! Hope all the PETS are doing good today. And of course, all the humans too. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: 18F cold degrees here right now. Not supposed to get much better.

DAVE: I never made the Hostess Choc Cookies. They'll have to wait for another day. I talked to Jill and it seems like they have MORE than enough food over there for GAME DAY!

How nice that your bike seat came in and it's doing the job. Now to get the Nephew or somebody back to take that bike apart and get it downstairs! Don't you be trying to do that yourself. Both your BACKS will go out for sure. That stuff is heavy.

Nancy: Hope today is a better day for you. It's Sunday and you're suppose to REST on Sundays!

Lee: That breakfast you two had at Disney sure would taste good right about now. Yum. Do you deliver?
What's on Tap for your day today? And how is Miss Ava doing these days? By the way nice that your legs got to go into the pool. Hope the temps get up to 85 for you guys soon. It sure has been a different Winter this trip. But it beats what we have here today. Oh and Windsor truck protests too.

Karen: Did your Eye doctor move places? I thought you finally found somebody that you liked? I might have forgotten if (he/she) moved practices. I'm with all of you who check out where someplace is if I totally don't know how to get there. Makes the actual appt day a lot less stressful.

PAT:
So how was the Grille? Good to know you got out of the house. I hope the young man didn't break the bank when he ordered! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Does Elaine's Father have a big enough house where they could move in with him? Ha Ha. Wonder if they're checking it out by staying there or is it just far away? ;)

Bill: So do you have any M&M's on today's game?

Out of here to go get a fresh cup of coffee and a Biscotti or two! Happy GAME DAY folks.
