Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning, everyone! Still chilly here this morning, but should warm up into the low 70s. I'm waiting for tomorrow and the next couple of days when it will be in the 80s!!! Definitely my kind of weather and time for all snowbirds to pay up!! LOL

Never got to make my comments on the Super Bowl halftime show. In my humble opinion,
IT SUCKED!!! I know, I know, I'm a dinosaur but to me to make the entire show hip hop was a complete turn off. They'd get no rave reviews from me, for sure. So now you know how I feel about it!!

Not much to talk about this morning, as I have nothing going on today. So far, that is. The gal from Advent Home Health never called me last night, so I don't know if she's scheduling a last minute visit or not coming at all today. Time will tell.

Time for a cup of tea and plan out my busy day of doing nothing!! Have a wonderful day, everyone, follow the rules, behave yourselves and stay safe.

Good afternoon. Well it took a phone call from Jennifer for me to find that Bruce had gotten me some flowers for Valentine's Day, it is a large pot with a large flowering Bromeliad and two large flowering Orchids, the pot was right in the middle of the walkway outside the front door. So I moved it out of the way. Dinner was steak, which Bruce surprised me and cooked on the grill and baked sweet potatoes, very good.

I am feeling much much better about
90%, so that is very good.

Went to Walmart this morning to get eggs and look at pots for repotting a few plants and not much outside but inside
found 6 good ones. So in a couple weeks or so will repot. Also need to get at least one new Sheppard's hook for the hanging pots.

Will be fixing Fried Rice with Shrimp for dinner tonight and the rice is cooked so in a bit will put in the fridge.

All have a great day.

Break It Down Hip-Hop GIF by MANGOTEETH

Here in their habitat in central Florida, the rare hip hop dinosaur. It seems that the Covid rules are loosening every where Pat. Even back in The Great White North.
Will be fixing Fried Rice with Shrimp for dinner
Nancy, if you or Bruce would stop breaking dinner you wouldn’t need to keep fixing it. The lady next door was out front planting. Her son and family are permanent residents.
She and her husband are visiting from Lima, Peru. They are a very nice family and said they were happy to have ”nice” neighbours for two months. I suspect they meant the people on the other side. ;)
The Kroger delivery truck was in the community today Kathie. No real stores here. Everything is ordered on line and shipped from a central warehouse. Sorry, I prefer to select my own veg and meat. Hey, that big weather caused crash near you made the news. You guys be safe.
How was the movie Karen?

I’m feelin’ a trip to Publix happening tomorrow.
In the meanwhile, everyone be careful. Use common sense when it comes to masks when you’re out and about. But keep that sanitizer handy!

Quick good evening...it was a long day of running around with my sister's & I'm wore out....
Movie last night ended up getting postponed....about 5 minutes into the movie the guy running it realized the sound system wasn't working & people in the back could not hear...they tried a couple things to get the sound up but decided to just re-schedule...it was a shame cause there was quite a good turn out....lot's of snacks & treats were brought so most people just hung out & visited and snacked on goodies...catch up with you all tomorrow!

Lee; Are your neighbors aware that you and the dogs all line up and howl at every full moon? They will be tonight.

I didn't know that our favorite dinosaur was a tea drinker, BB. Kathi is, but not me. Strictly black coffee, no sugar.

Sorry that your movie-night turned out to be a bust, KC. At least they had some goodies to munch on as you visited with other people.

You never have said what your physical ailment is Nancy.

Hi to the rest of you Bunnies.

Today and tomorrow will be a nice meltdown around here. Mid 50's both days. Hopefully ridding us of all the snow and ice still on the ground.

The "snow" now is basically just big blocks of ice, thanks to the freezing and thawing this past week. Today is should be dry and partly cloudy. But Thursday it'll be an all day rain, and heavy at times. Low lying areas have already been given flood warnings.

So with today being a dry day, we're going grocery shopping. The smaller store that's only about a quarter mile away.

Wishing ya'll a good day, with lots of yummies to eat, and the beverage(s) of your choice.

Good morning everyone.
A beautiful day here. And it’s supposed to get better. Not so much at home from their forecast.
You and Kathie be careful out on the roads Dave. Even though it’s only a good spit from home it sounds like the ice could be an issue.
There’s the problem with an adult community Karen. You needed a 10 year old to fix the sound system. Sorry your night at the movies didn’t go as planned.
Coffee? Why, yes please. Maybe even at The Springs this fine morning.
You all have a wonderful Wednesday and we‘ll check back later.

Quick Good Morning to all you Wrabbits! Hair appt day this morning on the East side of town. Thank goodness it is today and not Thursday. We’re expecting freezing rain /snow etc mid-Thursday thru the night. Crazy. 59F to Freezing!

Today will be, as Dave stated WARMER TEMPS and here it’s suppose to be VERY Windy.

Off to fill the car with gas. I get to use my $1.00 off per gallon fuel rewards today! Yippee. I heard gas prices are going UP again because of all the “Stuff” going on with Russia. Another good reason to think about a Electric Car. HAHA Just not for me. Adding a separate circuit in the garage would be pricey and who knows how much “money” would really be saved. And I haven’t seen more than 1 charging station in all my travels around here or all the way up to the Blue Water bridge.

Nancy: Nice to know you’re feeling better. Now don’t over due it with your gardening. We don’t even think about planting and gardening until late MAY around here. Bummer.

Karen at least the Poolies had a nice get-together with munchies to make up for the lack of a movie.

Lee: ENJOY YOUR WARM DAY TODAY. HOPE YOU CAN FLOAT AROUND IN THE POOL !

Okay, I am REALLY running late now. Be back later.
BB: Hope you’re loving that new chair.

Good morning. It is up to 77 an supposed to be this temp or higher for the next few days.

"You never have said what your physical ailment is Nancy." And I won't as this is too embarrassing. Just am so much better, I was concerned about the cruise but not now.

My only plan for today is tonight to watch qualifying for the Daytona 500. One driver is trying to get on the front row for the 5th year in a row, if he does it he will be the only one for 5 straight years but one of a few others to get 5, am hoping he does it.

Pretty much all of my gardening is in pots. I do have a problem standing in one place and definitely can not get down on the ground as I can't get back up.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, y'all.

I hope your day is off to a great start. I know ours is. I mean like how bad can it be when you get up early enough to get dinner into the crock pot? It's been going for about 2 hours now and the house smells amazing. I'm making lamb shanks with mashed Yukon gold potatoes, Bert's home grown carrots made with honey and another veggie that I haven't decided on yet. If people still have room left, we have NY style cheese cake with cherries on top. Definitely not a bad menu, if I must say so myself!!

Got home health coming this afternoon. I really crack up no matter who comes. They spend the first half of their time here asking the same questions. Doesn't matter whether it's a nurse or a therapist. What a waste of time in my opinion, but I have to play their game, I guess.

Karen - Sorry your movie didn't come off as planned, but being able to socialize while having snacks was still worth it. Any adult beverages included in the goodies? LOL

Kathie - Good for you only needing to go a short distance to get your hair cut. Just be careful that you don't run into any icy patches on the roads.

Dave - Not really a tea drinker that often. I got used to drinking tea again while in the hospital. They only serve decaf coffee which to me is just colored water, so I would order tea instead. I just haven't stopped drinking it since we got home. Actually I also rarely drink coffee either, but that might change soon. They are building a Starbucks right outside our subdivision, so might take a trip there once in a while. Who knows ...

Lee - We've heard rumors that Krogers will be opening up on 192 in an abandoned Publix supermarket. Time will tell. I too want to see what I'm purchasing. I do like the produce at Aldi's and Kissimmee Produce over Publix. They are the most expensive and the quality isn't always that great. Of course, Fresh Market or Whole Foods beats them all, if you want to pay their prices.

Bill - You and Rita starting to get ready for your cruise next week? You leave before us and are going to one of my favorite places - Aruba, right?

Time to get off here. Bert wants to do a bit of shopping, so I'll be his copilot. I'll get to see some parking lots. Oh goodie!!! Have a great rest of the day, everyone. Behave, follow the rules and stay safe.

Good afternoon from Beautiful Belleview!

Lee, you asked about the field vision test, it is basically a way to test for glaucoma & to monitor the progress of certain eye diseases...here's a link if you'd like to read up on it...https://www.glaucoma.org/treatment/why-do-i-need-a-visual-field-test.php#:~:text=The%20visual%20field%20test%20is%20a%20subjective%20measure,presented%20in%20different%20areas%20of%20your%20peripheral%20vision.
Pat, no adult beverages this time...darn it! Aren't crock pot meals the best?! We heard that same rumor about Kroger going into the old Publix here in Belleview...I doubt if there is any truth to it...but it sure would be nice!
Dave, hope the trip to the grocery store is a sucess...be careful on the roads regardless!
Kathie, enjoy your freash new hair cut! And lucky you to have $1 off a gal of gas! Prices here are just out of site, I'm trying to stay home as much as I can but between Vet & Dr. appointments that's not working out to well...
Nancy, glad to hear the mystery ailment is doing better...
Board meeting at 2:30 today so I need to grab some lunch before I head out...have a great day all!

Well we HIT 50F dreary damp looking degrees here today. See how UNGRATEFUL I can be when the SUN didn't show up with the warmer weather.
It didn't feel much warmer with the 35-45mph winds. My car indicator turned on once and said I need to stop for a coffee break because the car was swaying so much between the lines on the freeway. It was
2 Hands on the steering wheel for sure this morning.

PAT: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dinner. Wish I lived closer. Wish I could find Lamb shanks that didn't require a HOME LOAN to buy them. They're way too expensive here for some reason.
And it's a 40 min drive by freeway to the East Side to get to the hair salon. But so worth it. My old stomping grounds. Been going there since I was in my early 20's! Yikes. Who stays with a salon that long! Ha Ha

Karen:
Thanks for explaining what a Field Vision Test is. I was about to google it. Good you keep up on these things.
I managed to save $15 bucks using my fuel points when I got gas this morning. Every little bit helps. And it was for buying food that I REALLY NEEDED last month. Normally it's only about $.30 cents on a gallon and then I have to compare prices at Costco to see which is a better bargain.
If you get a Kroger's by you and it's one of the Super BIG ones, you'll like it. One stop shopping.

Lee: Hope you were able to get in some time on the pool deck and maybe even in the water today. You need to get a book and fall asleep with the sound of the hot tub water in the background.

Bill: What are you and Rita up to lately? Read any good books lately? We got finished watching Ozark series 4 the first part. They are teasing us by not releasing the LAST part of the series or we would have gone through all 9 episodes of that too. Other than the "F" bomb from more than one of the characters it was really good. We got laughing about the constant F-Bombing word after a while and knew just which character was going to say it next. It was another one of those movie sets that was DARK all the time and they mumbled a lot. Thank goodness for Closed Captions to save us from having to turn the sound up all the way.

Okay, need to go and chill and watch the early news to see just how much RAIN/SLEET and then SNOW we will get tomorrow. Hope they're wrong is all I can say and glad I hair appt was today!

Be safe you all. I don't trust anybody in ANY store without a MASK. I'm so use to wearing mine it comes natural to me now.

Our friends who are at Disney’s Old Key West were supposed to meet us at Margaritaville on 192. They put the address Paul found for Margaritaville in their GPS. Yep, they ended up at Universal City Walk. About 30 minutes in the wrong way at the best of times. Then they got into I4 traffic. We scrubbed the mission for today.
Yes, Kathie, these hearty northerners were in the pool this afternoon. The pups were comfy on their travel beds on the deck. If your weather is like The Burg is expecting it sounds just plain ugly!
We’ve noticed less people at Publix near us Pat. Likely because they keep building nice new ones like the one on 27. Add Aldi’s and the less expensive groceries at Wallymart and Target and people now have more choices.
Thanks for the link Karen. My gosh I hope there’s not a test!
I have a fun takeoff on The Amazing Race. They usually have to name places they visited in the proper order in one of their challenges. Can you imagine The Bunny version…Name the tests and procedures we’ve all had in order.
Apologies to “Kathi” Dave. I see that auto correct hooked you up with “Kathie”.
You sound like an avid gardener Nancy. Lu-Ann and I kill plants just looking at them…
Off for our evening walk.
Stay safe and we’ll see you all tomorrow.

Lee: Bummer on your friends getting directed to the wrong place. I used WAZE today just to see which way it would take me and, OH MY GOODNESS it's a good thing after living here all these years I know all the roads very well. That gizmo would have taken me around and about all over the place. I laughed out loud at times.
Glad you got into the water!

Actually, all the weather HYPE is just that. In our area we're suppose to get the rain that WILL turn to some kind of SNOW or SLEET or both, but only expecting 1 inch. More expected going NORTH. And I really didn't even look at the Toledo area. (ooops) So, hopefully it won't be as
BAD AS THE HYPE. I can bet that Kroger's is full of Mom's buying bread & Milk and lunchmeat or peanut butter. They should all have supplies left over from a week ago when it really didn't snow that much. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

I just dropped on this big computer to check a message for a recipe explanation.

And I'd like to leave you with this funny post I saw on Facebook.

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply
for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked me
for my driver's License to verify my age. I looked in my pockets
and realized I had left my wallet at home. I told the woman that
I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.
The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.
So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.
She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.
She said, 'You should have dropped
your pants. You might have gotten disability too.'
And then the fight started...

Now that story was FUNNY Kathie.
I just hope that Jim Cantore doesn’t show up in your neck of the woods any time soon!
G’nite from me.

I don't know what the forecast is for your area K2, but we'll be getting an all day rain with temperatures in the mid 50's. That should wipe out all the snow on the ground. The temperature drop below freezing won't hit till around 11 tonight. With a touch of ice and snow.

With your high winds yesterday, did your "car indicator" steer you to the nearest Starbucks?

I too want to thank you KC for explaining what a "field vision test" is. So how did that board meeting go?

Nancy; I thought about possible things that your embarrassing mystery ailment could be. It's best that I don't list them.

I know, I know BB. If you've seen one parking lot you've seen them all. You sure can tell that you or I didn't set up KC's movie night. NO BOOZE.

Good going Lee on getting some pool-time yesterday. Hoping that you get a whole lot more before you have to skidoo back to Canada. I don't think that most of us Bunnies could remember all the tests and procedures we've had just last month. Let alone the order they were done in.

No big plans for today. Sucks that Kathi has to go out in the rain for a dentist appointment. And then head back out again in the rain to pick up a couple of granddaughters from school. I'll be waiting to hear what the girls had to say about the cookies Kathi made for them. They are snicker-doodles, but she put 2 small candy eyes on each one.

"MOM, Granny's cookies are staring at me!"

A quick check in from here this morning.
Temps are sitting around 65F and there is a good chance of wide spread coffee by the pool.
Back at some point later on.
Everyone just take care out there today.

Good WET morning Wrabbits!

Dave: It's only 39F here as I hammer out this post. And RAINING since about 11 O'clock last night. Suppose to DROP to 23 by 5:00 pm today. Glad you're weather is better in OHIO. Flooding is going to be happening and then freezing in low spots everywhere. Risky driving for the 5 O'clock rush folks.
The creek is UP and the Ducks are having a blast chasing each other in it. They have no feelings in their body or legs, so the cold water doesn't bug them. Lucky them.
Hope all goes well with Kathi's dental appt. How many COOKIES have you gobbled down?

Lee: A man of few words this morning. Hey, it happens. Enjoy the POOL. Just how many times have you had to fill up that Van of yours with all your travels around Kissimmee and Orlando?
I see no end to the HIGHER PRICES around here. Glad I got to use my $1.00 off each gallon the other day at the station.

I found Withholding RECEIPTS from when my Brother worked at our local grocery store in 1959 and 1960. One said he had a withhold of $1.50! That was from his $166.00 wages. I can't wait to see if he remembers how many PENNIES they paid him an hour back then! Ha Ha.

Okay, I'm out of here for now. Don't want to bore anybody with anymore useless information. Be SAFE.

A late good morning. It is to be a hot day today and so the AC is set and I am wearing shorts and a sleeveless top.

An not really an avid gardener, mainly have orchids and Thanksgiving and Christmas cactus, both very easy to take of and three nice Desert Rose plants. Al of them are not much watering, of course in the HOT summers more water but still easy. Also have a few rose bushes, 4 climbing (which need to be put in the ground with trellises) and 3 Wood roses( which were here when we moved in in 1985). I also have one potted palm that I received for Christmas in 1980 from Bruce's brother, he gave one to each Mother, his sister and me and mine is the only one still around.

The guy we hired to do the new culvert stopped this morning and told Bruce that the county won't allow us to resod that we have to put in at least 10 feet of concrete, so of course Bruce told him just the 10 feet, so he will be calling with a new price. So now instead of under $2500 it will be closer to $3000. And we will have concrete at both ends with grass in the middle.

Well the driver that had 4 straight on the front row for the Daytona 500 now has 5 straight. Others have 5 but he is the only one with straight.

Bruce is home today which is good as it was 7:30 when he got home yesterday.

Al have a great day.

Good morning from warm Florida. They're calling for about 86 this afternoon! A perfect day!

Kathie - The only way we can afford lamb shanks for a group is when Bert buys them one package at a time over a period of time. Publix doesn't have them all the time either, so it takes planning to do a dinner like we had last night. Dinner was delicious and there are enough leftovers for another dinner. Yippy!!

Can't stay on here this morning. Getting ready to head out for a special lunch with friends we haven't seen in a while. Then tonight we have trivia at the Grille. That means I don't have to cook at all today!!!!

Better run. Be good, everyone, and hopefully, I'll get back here later.

Pat, enjoy the day with your special friends...I can make a pretty educated guess who that might be... ;)
Lee, don't drink to many glasses of crazy good wine or the pup's may have to do without their evening ramble...

Kathie, sounds like a good evening to stay in & work on that afghan if you haven't finished it already...good thing your hair appt. was yesterday & not today!
Dave, hopefully your bad weather will hold off until Kathi is done with all her running today...those cookies sound really cute, I'm sure the girls will love them!
Meeting yesterday went well...it was a private planning meeting so we didn't have to deal with comments from the residents...I'm sure we will have at least 1 more general meeting before folks start heading back up north...one of the items we discussed was having another community yard sale...seems a number of people complained we didn't give them enough notice...so now we have one scheduled for April 9th....should give everyone who wants to participate plenty of time...
Movie problems have been resolved & the movie is re-scheduled for Friday night...Jane has decided not to try to sit thru a 2 hour movie on a hard plastic chair...her back is better...but not that much better..some of the poolies will be there so should be a fun night out...now I need to figure out something for a quick lunch & then spend a little time on the porch while the weather is so nice...later gang!
