Veendam Ducks and DITs!!!

Meg, I wear formal stuff only because I have it, got it on a really good sale, and don't ever have a chance to wear it anywhere else. It wouldn't make a bit of difference what anyone was wearing as far as I'm concerned as long as it isn't a thong. I really don't think any duckies will be quacking about it, and as far as everyone else is concerned, you will probably never see them again anyway. You won't see me in heels either - too much nerve damage from not having back surgery soon enough. We're there to have fun, relax, spend time with each other and see Bermuda, not pacify the fashion police.

Audrey - Great minds think alike - love my long black skirt! I am sure you look very nice in your skirt. Thank you for replying to my post. It won't be long now and we'll be on deck at sail away lifting a beverage and looking at the Statue of Liberty. :cheer:

Jacquie - I am happy that you have nice formal wear and you should enjoy the chance to wear it. Years ago I had beautiful formal wear - beaded jackets, long dresses but since my surgery I am unable to wear any of it. I have never had the energy to replace it all since I don't really have a need for it in my "real" life.

I will look forward to seeing you all dressed up as I do so enjoy seeing the tuxedos on the men and the women all dressed to the nines.

Our first HAL cruise was on the Maasdam and we would go to one of the lounges to watch the ballroom dancing and to have a cocktail before dinner. We did this every night and there was a couple that I believe were professional dancers who were just beautiful to watch dance. On Formal night I remember looking around and seeing all the tuxedos and long dresses and it was just spectacular.

I am sure that we will be fine with our attire.

This afternoon I read some posts about Room Service and am now happily dreaming of chocolate croissants for breakfast.

:thankyou: everyone!

Meg

Puleeeeeeeeeeeeze don't go giving Calgon any ideas!!!!:biggrin:

Okay Duck Ladies I need your help!

As most of you know I am mostly housebound due to illness (but when you see me I don't "look" sick) so my clothes are all of the seriously casual sort. I have some nice capri's, polo shirts, skirts but not alot of "dressy" clothing.

On Princess I can pass and look appropriately dressed but I am worrying that on HAL I will be that woman who is not dressed appropriately! I am probably over thinking this and I mistakenly started reading about this topic online :bang: so can you help me?

So for those of you who have experience with HAL (we have done two previous cruises on HAL) can you tell me what to expect in the evenings at dinner? And if we should go to the Lido for dinner is okay to be more casually attired? How dressy is formal night for the women and can I get away with a long skirt w a dressy top?

:thankyou::thankyou: I am sorry if I am being nervous over nothing.

Relax. You're going to be absolutely stunning. And anyone who has a problem with that will be dealing with ENFORCER DUCK.

Speaking of whom, I noticed he was getting a bit worked up over the possibility of anyone "dissing" a Duck; so I asked him, "E.D., do you by any chance have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?"

E.D. replied, "I don't have PTSD ... I give it! QUACK!"

I have some beautiful formal wear. The only problem is that almost all have shrunk - you know, that salt air problem that shrinks clothing?

Today is my day off , I work Tues.Wed. and Thrusday and then that it. since its a nice day , I will spend the day at my pool
and practice doing nothing, sipping Beer and reading cruise Books, I have to be ready for Sunday when we will be sitting on our Balcony
doing nothing for a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, we don't have a balcony this time. But, if we walk out our cabin door and turn right, our "balcony" is lower promenade deck.

Now, if I can just find someone who'll let me use their whirlpool tub!

No, that definitely would NOT help!

Keep your "bubbles" to yourself.

Who is packed and who is not???

I am in the "not" group! Today I am going to try to start to fix that little problem!

Add us to the not packed group as well! Tonight hopefully is the night we take care of most of that and get ready.

:thankyou: Meg
