We should celebrate Victoria Day here, or take the day off and help our Canadian neighbors celebrate!

Very thoughtful that Victoria Day falls on Monday and gives our "North of the Border" friends a long weekend in preparation for the cruise!

Jacquie, congrats on your "kids" graduating! I am sure that you had plenty to do with them learning what they did and I am sure that you were an excellent teacher! It won't be long now and we can peek at each other through the slats of the dividers on our verandahs!!
Can't wait to cruise with you neighbor!!!!

jk, sounds GREAT to me!!!! Finally.....a neighbor who doesn't smoke huge smelly cigars! How lucky could a body be - having a super good friend for a neighbor for an entire week????? Are we neighbors in the hotel, too? Duck food and duckies are ready to go, your birthday present is ready to go, Leon has his IV Monday, luggage tags and boarding passes are printed, and final laundry is almost finished, so packing starts Friday. We'll be on the next Bon Voyage list! QUACK QUACK QUACK

Audrey, where did you get your weather info? I have been keeping track on weather.com and they are calling for rain May 25, 26 &27 with temps in the seventies. For May 28 they have partly cloudy and a high of 77.

Sorry Calgon, but the easier way to call or fax Veendam - if necessary - is via INMARSAT. Veendam's direct numbers (these are international calls) are

1-870-600809876# (voice)
1-870-764567077# (voice)
1-870-764567081# (voice)

1-870-764538844# (fax)

Have name, cabin number and booking number ready.

These numbers are direct to Veendam. For anyone familiar with INMARSAT calls, the area code (870) used to vary with the ship's position - Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, etc.. No longer. The area code now is simply 870.

If you have a global cell phone like I do, it will be far cheaper to call to or from the cell. We're in port most days on this itinerary. Even at sea, it will be cheaper to use your cell phone. HAL sells calling cards (buy them at the Front Desk or Neptune Lounge) that equate to about $2.00 per minute via the ship's satellite. Again, much cheaper. I don't have/use Skype, but I understand that's much cheaper, too.

Mary Ann, the phone numbers above have 9 digits after the area code. The numbers we are used to only have 7 digits after the area code. Can you explain what to do? I'm confused. And when I leave this on the refrig for M, she won't know what to do with all the numbers.

Thanks

Can you imagine how close we all are to being together onboard?

Jacquie - Congratulations on your kids achievement!

JK - It will be nice to spend "our day" together! I will buy you a birthday frozen thingee to celebrate!:cheer:

Marty and I spent some time last night on HAL's website watching the video's and the tours of the staterooms, etc. It was great fun and got us excited for the cruise. Then we found a website that had some sample menus and we read about the great food...

Earl - Beautiful pic of NY Harbor. It's nice that we will be sailing past the Lady in the Harbor.

A hug to all Ducks and to Mama Duck & Pucci today.

TGIF!

Charles - international telephone numbers don't necessarily have the same number of digits as ours in the USA. Some have more, some have fewer than ours. But remember, we're going to be alongside in Hamilton for most of the cruise - if you have a global phone, it will be MUCH cheaper to call to/from your cell phone. Just be sure that you have "data" turned off. What adds exponentially to a cell phone bill when travelling is email, texting, etc. Just set the phone for telephone communications.
