Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

A horrible time for the friends and family after the passing of another fine Bunny.

Not much in the mood for yakking this morning.

In just a bit we're off to get the results of the CT Scan I had last week.

Hope to be more gabby tomorrow.

Sometimes I wonder about how and why things happen.
When Kathie called yesterday I was honestly thinking about Tony and meeting him for the first time on the coastal cruise. Then I was up at about 2:30 this morning and Karen, that exact Steve Warner song was in my head.
You all stay healthy.

So sorry to hear about Tony. He was my California connection and brought so many memories to me. He will be missed.

Miss all you bunnies - please stay safe.

Dave: Hope you get a good report or at least one that can correct the issue without too much down time. Take care and we’ll be waiting for the verdict....because “we all care so much about each other”.

Karen that song was perfect. Although a tear jerker it reminds us that we need to stay strong and continue on as a ‘extended family’ because Tony not only will be ‘Watching Us’, but would want us to do just that.

I’m thankful to have all of you in my life. Especially now and during these crazy times we are all going through.

Thank goodness it’s SUNNY here today. Makes it a tad more bearable.

Be safe...... ❤️

RIDE ON FRIEND......RIDE ON.

Felt very sad yesterday when we heard the news. RIP Tony. Thinking of you Nancy, John, Anthony and Angeline. May your sorrow e tempered with knowing how much your Dad loved you all ad was so very proud of all of you.

Saying good night from Belleview...it's been a cold windy day here & I'm ready to just snuggle under the blankets....be well my friends...

Right behind you, Karen, checking out from chilly Florida tonight.

By the way, I went looking for the picture of the group eating at the Grille when we had our gathering here a few years ago and I can't find the picture. Anyone else able to post the picture?
By the way, our gathering was the day before the Super Bowl. The reason I remember this is because we went with Tony and Nancy for dinner at Manny's and had to wait for a table. Turns out that all these people went for dinner early before the Super Bowl started. Within a few minutes, you could practically have any table you wanted!!

Have a good night, everyone, and I'll see you tomorrow. :)

Oh what a difference some sunshine makes.

Yesterday was the first day in quite a while that wasn't cloudy and gloomy and not snowing. Although still cold, the sun came out and changed people's moods and perspectives. The snow was still there but now with the sun striking it on the ground and sticking to the trees and houses, it became beautiful. Giving us a peek at the beauty of nature. Or as our California friend would call it, his "cathedral".

Kathi decided she wanted to use the snow blower for the 1st time. She knows how weakened my legs are becoming.

So we went out in the garage and I gave her the A B C's on how to start and operate that big ole snow-blower, and sent her on her way down the driveway with it. It's self propelled with forward and reverse gears.

I wasn't sure if she or it would be in control, but she soon got the hang of it. Even cutting a path across our front lawn, up by the house, for the mail-carrier.

Sure like that Lazy Susan you got, BB.

Looks like I'm in for surgery soon for that almost totally blocked carotid neck artery. It's way past trying to keep it clear with blood thinners. How soon? As soon as my heart doctor and family doctor clear me for it. Both of which I see next week.

In just a bit. the poopy dogs go to the groomers. So we're going to whip out the vacuum and carpet shampooer once we drop them off and do the hallway and living room.

Find some sunshine my friends.

Good “Hump Day” Wrabbits!
Well, in all reality the ‘odds’ on here now are in favor of the Female Wrabbits on this thread!
It could be:
Dave
Lee
Bill

vs

Pat
Karen
Kathie

But we all know that Bill doesn’t post every day.
That being said.
Dave & Lee have their work cut out for them on here now! You “Guys” lost one of your QUICK, SNAPPY, COME BACK REMARK GUY with Tony being gone now. Don’t let him down is all I can say!

Dave: All the best getting releases from all the other doctors. Do you get the feeling it’s a “cover your butt” situation. Instead of one doctor making money off of you, now 2 others will have a piece of the action! Geez!
Like I told you before, my friend at church had that done around Nov 2020 and she did well. Had a sore throat and sports a scar on the side of her neck. Had to take it easy afterwards, as with any surgery. Get a good supply of your favorite SOUPS ready. Not sure you’ll be adding HOT SAUCE for awhile!

Karen and Lee thanks again for picking out the nice Angel statue for dear Nancy. Just perfect. Good work.

BB: Love your new Lazy- Susan. The inscription is PERFECT for you guys and your love of WINE!
Still hard to believe we won’t be getting any LATE AFTERNOON posts from Gilroy any more.:( Damn... life sucks when you lose part of your extended family. This is going to take awhile to adjust to.

Off to the Dentist to get my teeth cleaned. “ALWAYS SOMETHING.”

Be safe gang. And know you’re all SO SPECIAL TO ME!
Do you know that decades ago TONY gave me the Sign on initials — “ K2 “! It was short for Kathie Kata ! Can’t be changing that anytime soon. It’s the little things I remember that get me all teared up.

Good morning, everyone! Still coming to terms with the idea that we won't have Tony busting our chops over recipes and shopping any more. I'll never be able to shop for cruise clothes again without thinking about our man San telling me I have enough clothes already. :( It used to be fun to mention shopping for clothes just to rile him up!

Another chilly day here in the neighborhood and I just saw that we have a freeze warning for tonight. Oh crap! There goes the Sam Marzano tomato plants in the garden. I hope Bert can figure out a way to wrap them. Might have to bring in a couple of orchid plants that decided to surprise me and started blooming. Don't want to lose them either.

The gang is coming over tonight for a light dinner of stuff we want to get out of the freezer and to check out the lazy susan. I thought it would only come in handy when we have company, but it's amazing how convenient it is for us to use ourselves. So nice to just turn it a bit to get the food you want right in front of you!

I plan to make a quick batch of peanut butter cookies today also. Don't get too excited, as these are the Pillsbury kind that you buy in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. It makes 2 dozen, so that will be plenty for after dinner.

Need to make a run to the library again today. Bert keeps reserving books he wants to read and they come in usually one at a time. He just returned one yesterday and now has to go pick up another one. He's just reading these books too fast!!

Dave - Sorry about having to have the surgery, but a good thing that all your doctors have to sign off on it to cover all bases.

Karen - I will get the money out to you today or tomorrow, depending on whether I beat the mailman to the box today! Stay warm up there by you tonight.

That's about it from me for now. Not much to talk about when you're home all the time, right? Whatever you're doing today, be careful and stay safe. We can't afford to lose any more of the bunny bunch!:emoticon 0152 heart:

Hutch A Doo.jpeg

Good morning all!
I
think this is the photo you were thinking about Pat. I think that's Karen hiding down the end of the table behind Christine.
It was a beautiful but cold walk along the river this morning. The ice was moving at a pretty good clip. The Boblo Ferry was just about pointed straight up river to make the crossings in both directions. The Captain earns his money today!
Would a small cheap dollar store drop sheet work to cover the tomatoes Pat? Knowing that crew of yours, I'd buy TWO packs of Pillsbury cookies. As I recall they aren't very big!
Oh Kathie. How you underestimate Dave and I. I fear that a duel quick wit and repartee with you would be like shooting an unarmed woman. (Let the battles begin LOL) Karen did all the ground work for the angel and the bunny. I couldn't help but think as we walked along the river that it wouldn't surprise me if Art was out on his bike today. Enjoy the dentist!
Good on you for showing Kathi how top start and use the snow blower. It it an electric start? Ours is a pull start and Lu-Ann just can't get the "oomph" to start it. Or so she says...;) I always appreciated the customers who would cut a path across their lawns for me when I carried mail. Now, about this surgery...The burning question is will you have to shave and get a haircut? Can you get a package deal if the groomer does it while the poopy dogs are in?
50F is pool weather for most Canadians Karen. What a great picture of your Dad and Tony. In that picture I can almost see your Dad asking "Hey Tony, what are you doing here?"
Wow. 62 years ago today was "The Day The Music Died". The world lost Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
Should run. I've been tasked with finding something for Lu-Ann.
You all stay safe and well.

Lee - Yes, that is the picture I was thinking of. I always kept the picture handy, but can't remember where I put it last. I think you're right that Karen is hiding too!!

Heading for the library now and a quick stop at Publix for some Italian bread for tonight. :)

Good evening!!

Dave, sending good thoughts to you on the artery clean out...my friend Grant is having the same surgery done on Feb. 12th...but I think he is having both sides done!

Pat, it's been down right frigid up here the last couple nights...I even broke down & turned the heat on for a little bit last night...
I think there was another view of that same picture taken from the other end of the table too...

Lee, yeah 50 degrees may be pool weather for you Canadians...you are a much more hardy gang that we Whimpey Floridians are...50 degrees has us running for hats, coats & gloves...
And you did the main part on finding our "bunny"....I'm sure Nancy is going to really like it...

Kathie, it's really hard to believe this group has been going on for as long as it has...and I think this loss is gonna sting even more than some of the other's did....
Hope the dentist visit went well....

Been a busy couple of days for me...went over to Jane's yesterday & got a few outside projects done for her to take advantage of the cooler weather...she fixed me a nice homemade veggie soup for lunch & even sent a bowl home with me...which I ate tonite...
Then today I went over to Barb's to help her clear out & re-arrange her spare bedroom to use as a craft room....and she had homemade veggie soup for our lunch too...she didn't send any home with me though...the brat!
I got home early enough to sit out on the back porch in the sun...it felt so good I actually fell asleep...if it hadn't been for the Fedex driver ringing the door bell who knows how long I might have slept...good thing I woke up because we had a board meeting scheduled for 4 this afternoon...that lasted till 5 & then I came home ate my soup...and here I am chatting with you all....re-runs on tv again this week....so it may just be an early night for me tonite...no where to go tomorrow so it might be a good time to clean my house...later gang!!

Lee: Art loved the pic of you looking across the Deteoit River. And NO Art is NOT biking anytime soon due the Cataract surgery. He can’t see well enough through one eye to drive to the starting pointe at the park and he actually said 20 degrees these days is just a TAD TOO COLD to be out there. Ha ha. He was out in 10 - 18 degree weather before! Actually, we are usually in FLORIDA right now, so those 50’s and 60’s you all have had in the mornings would be just perfect riding weather.

I love that GROUP PICTURE AT THE GRILLE. Seems just like yesterday!

BB: MAKE SURE THAT BERT DOES NOT USE “plastic” to cover the plants. OH wait.....you’ll never get down to below 32 degrees down there.....right? Up here we use old flat bed sheets to cover our plants in the fall. PLASTIC CAUSES MORE HARM when the leaves touch it and the plant freezes even quicker. Learned not to use PLASTIC from our local landscape nursery.

Dentist went well. It was a cleaning with his Hygienist wife, Michelle today.
But in 2 weeks Dr Marc is going to do a small filling he found when doing the final inspection when the cleaning was done. Of course he found something. It’s like when you go to a Dermatologist, they always FIND SOMETHING!
Michelle did tell me they bought a house in Cape Coral a few months back and spent the Christmas/ New Years break ripping and painting and fixing It up to their liking! They bought a small car to leave there and next he said they’ll be buying a really SMALL boat to just get out on the water. They are on a canal that goes out to the Inter coastal and then onward. They have a big boat here in Michigan and they live right on the water, so they’re use to boating.

NOW Qyou see why he was able to find a cavity today! Somebody has to help pay for the new Florida digs! Ha ha. I’m happy for them. They’re a fantastic couple and have a great staff too.

KC: You sure got lucky with getting SOUP TO GO from at least one of your sisters! I wish I could FALL ASLEEP on my deck! If I tried I’d be frozen and gone before I got the chair set up.
Suppose to get down to 4 degrees in the next day or so. Brrrr.
I forgot to mail out the check out, I‘ll do it in the morning. I need to send out my sympathy cards too. Can’t believe it...just can’t accept it yet.

While I was away at dentists our Ashley drove all,the way from their house to ours to drop off some Blueberry Muffins she made! Art was thrilled to see her and I was sad I missed her. What a sweet thing to do. The kid must be bored out of her mind waiting on job interviews. Feel so sorry for all the Winter graduates this year.

Signing off for today! Stay warm and safe. XOXO from MACOMB!
Nite SAN.....

The gang just left and I am ready to crash for tonight. Way too much food and way too much wine!

Karen - Glad you at least 1 night's dinner with the veggie soup.
That was just too cool for me to go outside today. Hopefully over the next few days it will get better. Going to be a cold one tonight.

Kathie - Bert would never use plastic to cover plants. He dug out blankets from the garage and we can only hope they will work.

Time for me to say good night and get comfy. Se you all in the morning! :)

I just remembered that Super Bowl 55 is coming up this weekend. GO CHIEFS! Even though some big named advertisers are sitting out this year, it looks like some smaller companies have cooked up some real good commercials to make up for it.

And let's not forget about Puppy Bowl 17. Cute, cute, cute.

As for as that group picture; If it wasn't for all the senior faces, I might think it was a junior high school table at a Catholic school with the boys on one side and the girls on the other. "Honest Sister Mary, K2 had no intention of rubbing Lee's leg if she got to sit next to him."

Now that you've got this Lazy Susan BB, you're probably wondering why you didn't get one years ago. Any kid, or adult, give it a fast spin yet to see things fly? Oh yea, with Bert reading so many books, is there any subject he tends prefer?

My envelope will be mailed today, KC. It was suppose to go out yesterday but our mail carrier showed up 2 hours earlier than he usually does. So when I went out to put it in the mailbox, yesterday's mail was already in there. Yikes, I can't imagine having both left and right carotid arteries being done on the same day.

Yes K2, lots of doctors are going to be making money off of me in the near future. And I betcha that each one will order one kind of test or another. Another cavity, little girl. Have you been brushing your teeth before being tucked into bed at night?

Our snow-blower does have an electric start, Lee. You plug it into any electrical outlet, push the button, and it roars at what seems like 3 times as fast as a car's starter. After it starts you just unplug it and you do your thing. It does have a pull cord too, but NAAA. Here's a song for ya that always makes me smile.

Pick-up day for us. First to Wally-World where they bring out to us our prescriptions. They even have with them one of those portable credit-card readers. Then it's off to pick up our groceries. They make you pay for them on line ahead of time.

Morning Wrabbits. Dave...that was the Best Video of that song for sure. Loved ever single picture. Good luck with your ”pick-ups”. I wonder how much your GROCERY bill has gone down since you don’t walk around and throw EXTRA stuff into the basket anymore! Do you miss anything in particular or do you manage to find it on the stores online ordering?

OKAY, not wanting to be a Debbie Downer I didn’t OPEN UP my post with the following. Just not a good week for me.

Mark’s oldest brother, Don, passed away early early this morning. So sad for his wife and extra sad for his 4 brothers and one sister. He was the FAMILIES FATHER to those boys and sister. Remember their father passed away when Mark was just 19 months old. So he was their “brother & father”.
I feel extra sad for Mark since just a week ago today he was generously giving his stem cells and plasma so that his brother Don might have a chance beating his cancer. Mark has to be taking this really hard for that reason and the fact Don was like his father image to him since he was 19 months old. Sad.
I really don’t think that Don could have handled having his body bombarded with chemo to kill all his WHITE CELLS Next week. I guess you do what you have to do, but that would have been a month of total isolation in the hospital. And the odds of surviving the first phase of the process would have been slim.

So my friends I need some space to process this weeks SAD news.
Thank goodness it’s BRIGHT and SUNNY outside that helps a lot.

You all do whatever you have to do to STAY SAFE. No screwing around taking chances......thanks. Hugs to you all.

Sending ((HUGS)) to you Kathie & to the Maxwell family....so very sorry for your loss.....take some special time for yourself to process this & find your peace.....Love you my friend!
