Karen: Nice to hear good news about Barb's healing. Hope the new infusion works out good for her.
Hope your 6-month check up gives you a good report. How's your "eyes" doing lately? I know you had some concerns. I seem to have "dry-eye" more and more lately. Need to remember to do 'drops' on a regular basis.

Our church director gives us our notes for each section by using a cell phone piano app. Amazing what they come up with these days.

LEE: It got down to 46F degrees late last night. Brrrr. This week it will be warmer by the afternoon. It's 73F and Sunny right now at 1:00 pm - Monday. I'll take that all year round.

So good to hear from you Karen. It sounds like home care is doing Barb the world of good. The one thing that doesn’t seem to have changed is you are still constantly in motion!
Agreed Kathie. Is there nothing that doesn’t have an app these days? Our water and phone bill came in this morning and got paid this morning. We like to get them out of the way so they’re not forgotten.
It’s a beautiful, bright sunny 73F here Mike. I reckon if you were in the sun it would be nice and warm.
We noticed a couple of the trees on the street starting to, dare I say it, change colour. I’ll be watching The Navy Yard for them to start to turn.

Linda is coming over tonight, she will be here at 9 tonight and stay overnight.
Lee, Ava would be my type of dog, I don't thing either one of us likes the cold. My daughter has a Subaru, she loves it after having toyotas for years. I didn't get the link to the mini golf course.
Karen, We have had a cool September before this week, usually the first two weeks in Sept. are pretty warm. I think the temps for the next 10 days or so will be in the 80s. I hope your check up went well..
Kathi, glad Art's dental appt. went well. I hope you don't have to take a mortage to pay the dental bill.

I’ll try to be quiet this morning because it’s still early. I’ve been awake since 4:45 but didn’t get up until 5:30. I took the garbage to the curb. It was a tad chilly for shorts at 51F. It’s supposed to feel like 81F later this afternoon.
I hope that’s the weather you are all getting.
How far ahead do you need to book an overnight room with you and Fay Mike? I think it’s nice that you have family close by. Lu-Ann’s brother and sister are both over 4 hours away. We had our Dodge Grand Caravan for 10 years and 250,000 miles! This is our first Subie. I added the link to the mini golf just below the “Oh Dopey Me” statement in my previous post. Kathie had busted me for my memory lapse…
I’m gonna get a coffee and a carrot muffin for breakfast. Then I’ll get tidied up and head to the Subaru dealer about 35 minutes away.

A beautiful day here. I was home by 10:00 and we took Ava to The Navy Yard.
When did an “A” service start to cost $198.00!! Multipoint inspection oil change and a “free” car wash. They do send a video of the inspection so you can see everything has been checked and meets the specs but holy cow, no wonder people don’t service their vehicles like they should!
Not much else from this end. I hope you’re all enjoying your day.

Fay gets her prism done at a local garage, just oil change, they throw in some extra inspecttios, her car doesn't have 250000 miles on it Lee but it is 24yrs old, how old is that in peoples age.

How far ahead do you need to book an overnight room with you and Fay Mike? I'm guessing about 4 or 5 minutes after you get here.

As predicted it go a little warmer today. K2, I sat outside for 30 minutes or so, it could have been a tad wamer, maybe tomorrow and the next 5 or 6 days.
K2, I had to read this 2 or 3 times to figure ouy what you meant. Our church director gives us our notes for each section by using a cell phone piano app. What in the world is a cell app, I got it figured out.

Lee: Thanks for the picture of the "Two Towers". It's sad a day and most people around the world will always remember that day whenever they hear the words "9-11". NEVER FORGET.

I got to see the Mini Golf Course you posted. WOW... now that would be worth the money to hit the ball around. I think we have a few big Mini-Golf places around here. I haven't been to one for DECADES.

Mike: Amazing how well you keep your vehicles to get so many years out of them. I'll have to check the mileage on Art's Ford Escape. I know it's really low on miles since he just uses it to go back and forth to the Big Park where his bike rides start three times a week. He also uses it to get to the Barber shop and medical appointments.
Keep going outside in these next few days of INDIAN SUMMER WEATHER. It's a LONG and COLD Winter, so you need to enjoy the nice sunshine while it's still basically warm outside.

Hello to Karen. Thinking of you and hoping you're getting some "YOU TIME" while caring for your sister, Barb. Caregivers often forget to MAKE TIME for themselves to RE-CHARGE. Hugs.

Downton Abbey was mostly a review of the CAST last night and how they bonded through the years. I guess if you want to see the FINAL Episode you have to go to a movie theatre on Thurs, Fri or Sat. I'm going to look into going to our theatre that we could walk to if we were both in a tad bit better shape. Ha Ha. Less than a mile away from our driveway!

Computer is acting up again, I coudn't go down a line or 1 space over so I started a new post/ I'm hoping Michael can fiix the problem if turning the computer off doesn't do it.

Hi gang. Nice reading your posts guys!

I've been busy over here scheduling tests for Art.
He's had a few episodes of feeling light headed to the point of being dizzy. Not sure if that explains it correctly. Mostly happens when sitting down and has happened in bed.
Of course, he didn't tell me when it first started. I just happen to notice him staring into space at the dinner table as I sat directed across from him on Tues, 9/9/25. I asked him "are you alright"? And then he explained he just had a weird sensation in his head.
Got a doctors appt the next day (amazingly) and he ordered an MRI of his BRAIN and a PATCH TYPE MONITOR for 7 days.

Monitor gets slapped on his chest SEPT 24th
MRI gets done on OCTOBER 5th (yes, a Sunday)

Now getting these ORDERS faxed to the hospital took 2 days to get them correct.
And waiting on the phone for way too long. Good thing I am on top of things and checked to see if the hospital scheduling dept got the orders. (they didn't get them the first time around) Electronic transfers these days aren't all they're cracked up to be! Pfffth.


On top of all this ........I've been trying my best to get a CREDIT I have on PayPal transferred to my credit card. Not an easy task at all. Tried 2 days and still can't get it done. Just glad it's only a $20 refund. Once I get this taken care of, I will be CANCELLING this account that I think I used maybe 3 times since I opened it decades ago.

Sorry to dump on you guys. I'm just a tad tired from all this BS.

Kathie, please don’t ever apologize for “dumping” as you said on us. Frankly I have been concerned that something was amiss because you haven’t been yourself. Now we know that you’ve had a little bit of “stuff” on your mind. I sincerely hope it’s no big deal with Art and wish him well. You know we’ll keep you both in our good thoughts and prayers.
Funny about your PayPal account. We just cancelled ours for the same reason as you did. They had our card information and we never used them.

A very foggy start to the morning. I elected not to take Ava and I for our early walk. Not all of our streets have sidewalks and even with my reflective vest I decided to err on the side of caution.
We’re meeting friends from Waterloo for lunch today. Cait and Denny come down every fall for a week, tour the wineries and stock up on the fine Ontario wines this region has to offer. We always meet for lunch, a glass of wine and a chat. I’m looking forward to it.
I hope you had a good visit with The Tierney’s and Michael Mike.
What is it about guys, I’m the same way Kathie, that if something isn’t quite right with ourselves we think “oh, it’s nothing”.
How’s that patient of yours doing Karen? Is Jane able to help with Barb to give you a little time for yourself? Time which I imagine you use to help out at the church or help others.

My Coffee was sooo good earlier this morning. I even managed to remember to whip the 1/2 & 1/2 and made it seem close to a Starbucks Latte!

So, it's Saturday and looks like we might get a TAD of rain this afternoon. Sun is barely shining.

Art is on his Sat bike ride and so far hasn't had anymore episodes with feeling like he's "spacing out"! Well, let's just say he hasn't TOLD ME ABOUT ANY since the last one!!

Lee: Good for you being cautious about NOT walking Ava since it was FOGGY out. Drivers are busy with their cell phones or trying to drink their morning coffee, etc, etc and could miss seeing you (even with a reflective vest on) and you could be history! Always better to be safe than sorry!
Have a fun time with your Waterloo friends. The trip to the winery for lunch and a nice glass of wine sounds fantastic. ENJOY!

Mike: Refresh my memory of when and how you and Fay met the Tierney's?? Nice that you both had some company from the kids this week and they were able to help you out with things.

Karen: Hope things are getting much better with Barb. Are there any plans to get her back into her home yet? I can't remember how long she was going to be getting those infusions. Hope you are taking CARE OF KAREN during all this. Is the pool still warm enough to get into at the club. Take your floatie and relax if it is. Hugs to you girl.
