Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Oh Karen, thank you for stopping by. You have been missed. Know that you and your sister(s) are in our prayers.

Yes Mike, Ava and I got out for our walk and then the three of us headed down to The Navy Yard for our second walk. It was very busy in town this morning. Lots of people, kids and dogs. Knowing that tomorrow is Labour Day, the sun is setting earlier and mornings are cool you just know summer is heading out the revolving door of seasons and fall is coming in.

See you in the morning friends.

Good morning.
Well, what’s new since last evening? Oh, nothing.
I feel bad that I didn’t ask Karen if it is Barb or Jane in hospital. Mike said it best when he posted “please take care of yourself“.
Kathie, thank you for never giving up on our Karen.
Today is games day. I think we’re playing the card game Phase 10. I’ll do my best to pop in later on and see how everyone’s day went.

Don’t worry if I’m not around until later tomorrow. Lu-Ann and I are headed to London University Hospital for a 9:40 appointment with her Movement Disorder Specialist. It’s crazy that the closest MDS, bar paying out of pocket for a neurologist a half hour across the border, is over 2 hours away. There are none in Windsor. :( In the big scheme of things we are lucky to have one. We’ll leave here about 7:00 to give ourselves a time buffer and to find parking.
Have a great and safe day!

Happy Labor Day GIF
Happy Labor Day folks! When I was little it meant a major cleaning of walls in the house. Does anyone remember WASHING WALLS??? I have never washed a wall in either house we have owned. I guess it was a thing to do back in the day! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Lee: Be safe driving to London on Tuesday. A shame that Windsor, as big as it is, doesn't have a MDS doctor in the area.

I have a doctors appt on Tuesday too. Thankfully, it's only 1/2 hour away from the house.

I'm out of here for now. :sign bye:

Another of those little cross border differences Kathie. The spelling of the word “Labour” :canada: vs “Labor” :usa1:. I think to think that without “U” there is no Labour. ;)

Late coming by! It’s already TUESDAY!
I totally agree with MIKE about once Sept comes around the Summer (what we had of it) is basically over.
All we can hope for now is a fantastic INDIAN SUMMER! :clap002:

We went to the lake cottage and Jill and Mark & the kids were there too.
My nephew that had the Cancer surgery was there and he looked amazing. He said he is still trying to get his strength back. Still has the colostomy. Not sure when they will do the re-connect.
Tass, our nephews Aunt was there too. She is on oxygen full time and has the the machine inside the cottage and LONG tubing that let’s get get outside. Even with the oxygen when she walks from the kitchen to the deck she’s huffing and puffing. Not good.

Lee and Lu-Ann safe travels to London.

Mike I CAN’T agree with you on hoping Ohio gets to be #1 in football. That would mean one of the Michigan teams would have lost! Perish the thought!

Karen hope you got some “YOU” time over the longer weekend.

I have a doctors appt, so not sure when I’ll stop by.

Enjoy your Tuesday Wrabbits!

Good Tuesday morning! It's my youngest sister Barb who is in the hospital.

Lee, safe travels to you & LuAnn. Hope you had a fun games day!

kathie, I think the last time I washed walls was 20 yrs ago after Larry died, being the heavy smoker he was our walls were coated in all the nicotine. Had to wash them down multiple times before we could paint.

mike, how did your plants do this summer? I got about a dozen cherry tomato's from my plant but that's about it.

They have been telling Barb since Sat. that she may be coming home from the hospital but so far she is still there. I have a feeling they were not able to arrange her in home health care because of the holiday weekend. She will be coming to my house for a while once she is discharged.

Well now doesn’t that put a HUGE smile on my face. Seeing Karen stop by.
Thank you all for the safe travel thoughts. We had an uneventful drive in both directions. Lots of tags from The US on the roads. I recall Texas and California being the furthest. We likely should have left even earlier than 7:00 for our 9:40 appointment but we were there spot on time.
Lu-Ann and I hope that Barb can get her home care sorted and get to your place Karen. I reckon the food, care and company is WAY better with you. :emoticon 0152 heart:
Excellent news about your nephew too Kathie. The fact that Aunt Tass is making the effort to keep moving around even on her oxygen is encouraging. I recall your appointment today is fairly close by but be careful anyway!

I’m guessing the “1” beside OSU on the schedule means they are indeed #1 Mike? There are so many conferences, divisions and leagues I don’t know how to keep track of them all.
It was a good appointment at the hospital today. Dr. Jog discussed a number of options and seemed to completely understand Lu-Ann’s concern with some of the choices. We start a new medication when the pharmacy can get it in. We’ll monitor that for 30 days and either cut it out, keep it at the prescribed level or increase it. Such is Parkinson’s in that meds effect every patient differently.
A big thank you to Donna Kathie. Lu-Ann asked her a question on line and she called last evening and they chatted for about an hour. Like you, she’s a heck of a good person.
To wrap this note up I have a “what the he77 are they thinking” moment from today. Along our major highway 401 we have “EnRoute” rest stops. Fuel, restrooms, restaurants, Tim Hortons and a store that sells souvenirs, snacks, etc. Again, as a reminder, this is right along the highway. The sign in the door that had me ask my original question boldly stated “COLD BEER AVAILABLE”. I’d like to meet the genius that thought this would be a good idea…
Have a wonderful rest of the day.

Karen, thanks for the update on Barb. Hope she feels MUCH BETTER than when she went into the hospital. One day at a time. Nice that she'll be coming to your house for awhile. It'll save you driving to her house, but you'll still have a lot to do for her while she's there. Tell here there's always " THE WALLS SHE COULD WASH" for physical therapy” Just kidding. Hope she listens to you!
Speaking of walls hard to believe that Larry has been gone that long. You've done so much to move on after losing him........all good things too. :clap002: We're all proud of you.

Lee: I'm so glad you shared that Lu-Ann and Donna had a nice long chat. I'm sure it was good for both of them to chat with someone that knows what it's like to have PK. Donna has told me how many different things they have tired on her to make her more comfortable. She hides her aches and pains very well. A beautiful soul for sure.

I treated MYSELF to a new Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch place that opened close to us on
Hall Rd. (Lee .... you remember GOOD OLE CRAZY HALL RD. It's like a freeway to the morgue) Ha Ha.
Any ways it was a 10! I had a really good cup of coffee and French Toast dipped in the usual egg and then into coconut and put on the griddle! Plated with FRESH raspberries, strawberries and blueberries (all three) and a sprinkle of coconut on top. So good. Rather pricey, so I'd say it would be a "SPECIAL Breakfast place to go to) NO DINNER FOR ME TONIGHT!
Art was biking so I'll get to go back when we go there together one day.

Take care all. It's PERFECT OUTSIDE 80F , Sunny, and NO HUMIDITY. Life is good.

It is 8:20 and pitch black outside. I like the long summer days and as you know the days will be much shorter soon. It got up to 83 today and I stayed inside all day, I will shoot myself this winter for doing that.
Your breakfast looks delicious Kathie, almost enough for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow morimg/ I couldnt get my print to enlarge and I don't have the slightest idea how I got it to enlarge.
Glad you had an uneventful trip Lee, but it was still a very long day, I bet you both were tired when you got home; also glad the appointment went well.
I keep up with 3 teams Lee, Ohio, WVa and Morehead Ky. Yes, Ohio is ranked #1. They lost most if not all of their offenvive line for this year.
Karen, Our garden didn't do much better if at all than yours, Fay hasn't picked a cherry tomato in days and even less grape tomatoes. She may not get any big boys this year.
I forgot to get my coffee this afternoon, I will probably lay awake all night. If I get it now I will spend half the night going to the bathroom
. Years ago the last thing I did before I went to bed was have a cigarette and a cup of coffee. I look at my old pictures and most times I would have a cigarette in my hand. Thank goodness none of my kids smoke.

Good Wednesday morning!
That holiday Monday sure throws the week off kilter.
It got into the upper 70’s here yesterday Mike. Problem was the humidity made it a tad uncomfortable. We also had spots of rain, not enough to even get things wet, throughout the afternoon. We were both a tad tired last evening. Lu-Ann dozed off about 8:00. I felt bad waking her to go to bed.
Hope you had some good news about Barb’s discharge and being able to get home care Karen.
About as close to that delicious looking breakfast as I’ll get today Kathie will be the berries. I have them most mornings with yogurt and granola. Lu-Ann sometimes has the berries on top of an Eggo. The one thing that remains consistent is the coffee.
It’s supposed to feel like 86F here today with showers and rain heading in this afternoon and overnight. That will drop our temperatures to highs in the upper 60’s for the rest of the week. I do believe I hear Fall knocking on the door!
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Love GIF by ircha_gram
Enjoy your coffee Wrabvits!

Quick post to say hello! I have a haircut appt today!
Art gets a haircut too!
Then we go to Kroger Pharmacy to get the 2nd shot for Hepatitis & Diphtheria.
Okay folks have a nice day.

I need a haircut too. Badly! I’m booked with Betty at 1:00 Friday. I didn’t worry about last week or the beginning of this week because I reckoned a lot of folks would be looking for back to school/work trims.
Karen and Mike, I can honestly say that I’ve never had a cigarette. Excluding candy cigarettes of course!

I had a few candy cigarettes too Lee, they don't taste the same as the real ones. I am beginning to need a haircut, by the time I get one the dog catcher will be chasing me.
The Well B nurse will be here 1/2 hour. She checks a few things and we chat for a while. after that I may ride my lawn tractor around the back yare. The lawn was cut Monday and there are some leaves in the yard form our t ulip poplar tree, I may try to shred t hem.
I don't remember if we get t he hepaptitus/diptheria shots, K2 will have to look it up, if we did it was years ago.

CANDY CIGARETTES..... I use to get those and Chocolate Cigars that were wrapped to look like a cigar in colored foil. Shall we go back to Mary Jane's next or Buttons on a long narrow sheet of paper! We have a candy store by us about a mile away that sells all those HISTORIC CANDIES! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Looks like rain might actually later tonight. The WIND has been BLOWING it this way ALL DAY! It did get up to 84F and was beautiful in spite of the wind.
The GRASS can sure use it a good soaking.

We got our updated shots at Kroger.
Then we asked about COVID Vaccine! Well, you can't get one without a Prescription even if you're 65 or older. And Kroger Corporation is still working out how they will handle the new government rules. Pharmacist said they won't have a answer until Sept 22nd.
I called both of our Primary Doctors to see about getting a prescription for us and NEITHER office knew anything about it. :emoticon 0104 surprised::rolleyes: One nice gal said she would pass MY INFORMATION onto their manager and get back to me. They have over 20 offices and nobody has a clue. Can we say WHAT THE H#LL. If I know about it, you would think somebody in the MEDICAL field would have heard about it too. Both gals from the 2 different offices said they don't listen or watch the news anymore! DUH!!

That Robert F Kennedy sure is screwing with our health not only with Covid vaccines. I hope KARMA knocks on his door real soon!

I was also checking to see when Art would have to go for a Colonoscopy and per the new GUIDELINES that issued a few years ago any one past 80 years old that has had previous negative colon test results doesn't have to get anymore colonoscopies unless there is a issue. Art's last one was 2021. He's good with that! :clap002:

Okay enough about HEALTH STUFF.

Haircuts for both of us were good. Off to make us some dinner. We will have some fresh corn from our local farmer as a special treat.

Almost time for that to be gone for the season.

Good night and have a good Thursday!

Did BARB get released?

Tired Cat GIF by Abitan
It’s 5:16 a.m. and I’m watching the “morning news”!
Hope I didn’t wake anybody. It rained here during the night. Hope it was enough to perk up the grass.

Enjoy your day folks……It’s THURSDAY in case the holiday mixed you up this week! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

So Kathie, it was you who woke Ava up early this morning! You should have taken her out too!
Good morning everyone. Yes, Miss Ava and I were out for our early walk. One weather site was calling for a continuation of the overnight storms throughout the morning. The other said they were done. Both agreed it was 58F. I didn’t put my hearing aids in because I wasn’t sure how wet we may or may not get. I’ll tend to that after I have chatted with you this morning. I do have my priorities. :)
I forgot about the chocolate cigars! I have to admit I was never a fan of the buttons. How ‘bout the incredibly unsanitary “Lick Em Aides” I think they were called. Basically flavoured powdered sugar in a packet. You ripped it open, licked your finger and stuck it in the pack to get it covered with the sugar and stuck your finger back in your mouth! And you shared them with your friends!
How did we ever live past 10 years old. Well, most of us…
We’re trying to time our shots so we have the best coverage when we go south. Ontario health care may have it’s issues with long wait times and doctor shortages but our vaccinations are still free.
I don’t need a holiday in the week to mix me up!
How’d you make out with the nurse‘s visit Mike? Were they gone in time to get out on the yard tractor? I hope that tractor has a coffee cup holder. I think the hibiscus is finally done for the season.
I hope that things are working out for you and Barb Karen. I know it will keep you extra busy having her with you but hopefully everyone you have helped along the way can offer a little help running errands or picking up the odd item at the grocery store. Above all PLEASE remember to set aside a little “me time” to take care of yourself.
Lu-Ann has her chair yoga this morning. I’ll tend to washing and changing the bedding while she’s out. At least at 7:15, that’s my plan.
You all have a terrific Thursday.
