Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

It’s so humid outside. I should have waited to take a shower when I got back!
Excellent picture of extended family friends. Missed them all who are not with us.

How wonderful that your friends are going to be official Canadians today. Cheers to them.

I have to go sit down after that humid hot walk. Be safe friends. Later.
This
screen seems to be giving me a hard time this morning

Thank goodness for A/C.

Be safe if you go outside.
Mike: I’ve been making delicious tomato, cuke, sliced onion and green pepper salads from Jill’s garden. Just done Veg Oil and salt & pepper and a dash of garlic powder. Let it sit out on the counter to marinate and it’s so refreshing. We call that SERBIAN SALATA! Today I will add fresh yellow squash cubes!

Lee: This salad is so good with chunky bread to dip the juices. You don’t need anything else.

Kathi Allen if you’re reading along know that we ALL think about and miss DAVE on here. He would be having a field day with everything going on in Washington, DC!
Hope you are well. Stop by and say hello.
XOXO

salads from Jill’s garden.
Does Jill know you’re raiding her garden to make salad? I’m sure she would rather you pick and use the veg than have it spoil on the vines. The salad sure does sound good and refreshing on a hot day. With crusty bread for dipping.
Somebody goes for their annual checkup at 1:30. I suspect Ava will be mad at us when her car ride ends up at the Vet Clinic.
To echo Kathi, again, if you are or have to be outside, please be careful and take it easy.

We just got back from a QUICK 2 block walk for Peeps time! There is a steady breeze, but HOT is HOT. We turned around after about 20 tree stops and Manny’s “Tank” was empty.

I made the salad with the fresh veggies I picked on the way inside! Can’t beat that for fresh. Now to wait for it to make it’s juices.

Anybody know how to get saliva off their iPad screen? That looks fantastic Kathie.
Vet check - $117. Biennial worm blood test - $102. Quarterly Bravecto (flea and tick) tablet - Also $102. Add taxes and we were just north of $362. How did we ever afford three Greyhounds!

That is wonderful that you got to share in the celebration of your friends becoming proud citizens of Canada Lee. It is 92 here now with a feel like 98. I don't think I will be sitting outside today. Thanks for the picture. I was thinking of the people that came to the dances that are no longer with us. At last count there are 8 left of about 70/
Thanks for the pictures K2. I have seen pictures of the collesium buy yours seem to be much more alive. The picture of Hocking Hill looks very similar to where my Grandaughter/husband sta;yed and where the reception was. nice pic of the salad
En joy the rest of the day and stay cool.

The salad was yummy. Crisp.
I can’t wait to get home and get on the scale and see if I lost any weight by eating salads and no night-time snacks.
I did manage to finish off a nice slice of Choc Cake
w/ choc icing on it the first day! They should have never left it in the refrig. Ha ha

They’re on their way home. Should be here around 5:30 pm. Give or take with RUSH HOUR traffic on I75!

It’s still HOT outside. Too hot to water Jill’s plants. They’ll live.

The laws of baby (puppy) sitting Kathie. If it’s in the fridge, like the chocolate cake, it’s fair game.
We are home from our neighbour’s citizenship celebration. It’s still 81F feeling over 100F Mike. I don’t blame you for not sitting out.
G’nite all.

Pouring rain at 10:15pm. The grass and flowers can really use it.

So good to know you all had a fun Citizenship celebration.
3657EC9C-9D01-4BFE-A9D8-6FF1BCE4667A.jpeg HERE’s your coffee and pastry for morning guys!

Now that was a darned fine coffee and croissant to start the day Kathie. Thank you.
At some point during the night we had a storm here. It blew over one of Lu-Ann’s planters! Fortunately it was the lower one that sits on the ground so it didn’t tumble from a height like the ones in the stands.
Was it nice to be home after minding Manny? I’m sure in some ways it felt like a little mini vacation for you too.
Our hibiscus has fewer blooms on it the last day or so too Mike. The white one, which bloomed first, had about a dozen flowers. The red one about twenty. I would say about a third of what we had at the height of them both in full bloom.
The heat warnings are supposed to be lifted later today although they are still calling for it to feel like 99F around dinner time. The break will be short lived though. Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be extremely hot again. “Stop this weather ride. I want to get off!”
Everyone have a great day!

Any more coffee and croissants left? I’m askin’ for a friend. ;)

86F w/a slight breeze. I was able to read out on the Deck for quite awhile this afternoon.
Didn't do anything else except baked a Lemon Meringue Pie for Art. It should have gone into a smaller pie crust, so it will be not as thick as it should be, but Art will still gobble it up.
I will a a FORKFUL to see what the heck it tastes like and that's it. I'm really trying to be good about eating sweets and breads for awhile. Wish me luck. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

The one thing I did realize from watching the PUP was that as much as I truly want a dog it just won't happen. I would be the only one able to walk it 2 times a day, since Art has a harder time walking with his curvature of the spine and all those back issues, and I just can't see me making that happen. Bummer. We did have fun and it's nice to have a pooch cuddle up to you when you're on the couch, but it really wouldn't be fair to the pup.

Lee: Tell your friend no more croissants, but if he lived closer he could try out the pie! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Mike: Hope all is well with you and Fay. Stay out of the heat.

That Mosquito bite or whatever it was that got me the first day at Jill's house while walking is finally slowly not ITCHING AS MUCH. But it's draining yellow gook and swollen. I clean it with Peroxide and am putting the Honey Balm stuff Dave recommended to me a while back. It should draw out the poison or whatever is in there. It's right on the outside of my right ankle below the ankle bone. Tender area to get a bite. Oh well, I'll live.

Later gang. Gotta make some dinner for Art and I'm having a veggie salad.

Finally a nice breeze and humidity & heat are down.
More good reading for me until the Bugs come out.

That cream Dave referred me to get was Medi-Honey. Hope it helps.

IMG_3459.webp Have a piece of Pie folks.

I am going to have a piece of pie with my coffee tomorrow K2 thanks. Keep an eye on that
No blooms on the hibiscus Lee, the crepe myrtle is almost thru. The tomatoes are terrible, just wait until nex i year
A little cooler today

Mmmm. Pie.
Medi Honey? Sounds like it would be good in tea.
I’m pretty sure the weather this year has really mucked up flowers and veggies Mike.
Not much else from me this morning.
The day is starting off a tad cooler which is nice.
Have a wonderful Thursday folks.

Happy Good Morning GIF by jecamartinez
Happy Thursday!

Pleasant 80F right now. A welcome change from the 90's.

Lee: That Med-Honey stuff actually brought down the swelling a little. It's still red, but not as bad. I'll spare all of you the pictures I took. I'd never live long enough to tell about it if I went into the deep Jungles that had all kinds of bugs! My body is too sensitive to bites. Hate it. Takes weeks for even a mosquito bite to go away.

Okay, I have nothing more to chat about right now. Off to finish the book I'm reading. It had a lot of twists and turns and way too many characters to keep track of, but is ending up to be a good read.

Later..........

Fay and I went to our audiologist to to have her check our hearing aids. Fay;s was fine but mine needed new tubing. I need to get my eyes checked.
The Tierney's came over tonight instead of Friday night, as always we enjoyed talking to them. Fay was going to bake a chocolate cherry pie but with the Dr, appt. she got a pie from Krogers.
Glad the Med-Honey worked for you K2.
Lee, we had one hibiscus bloom today.
In the 90s next 5 days.
Have a good night all.

Good morning. Drumfit today at 11:30.
Although the thermometer says 64F it is a very damp morning. That suggests that today could be sticky.
Did I see “chocolate cherry pie” mentioned? That sounds delicious Mike! Too bad the last minute substitute was a store bought pie. I suspect The Tierney’s would have enjoyed the chat with or without pie. I hope the hearing tube replacement is quick and inexpensive. Looking now out we have 3 white and about 5 red hibiscus. Our front planters are pretty much done but it’s a tad too early to pick up fall baskets.
Some people Kathie are way more sensitive to bugs and even minor scratches that others. Lu-Ann is also one of those. A mosquito bite balloons up on her in seconds. How is that world travelling Grand Daughter of yours enjoying Italy?
All of you have a safe and fantastic Friday.

Mike there’s nothing wrong with store bought pie.
Glad you got the hearing aids adjusted.

By the way Mike my “bite” is still Oozing. Yuk! Not as red or swollen as it was, but the itch is still faintly around.

Lee: The Italian Traveler is enjoying Venice right now. Boat rides beat walking!!

We have a visitor in the TOP of our neighbors tree right now.

Wish I had a Long distance lens to get a closer picture. It’s an Egret!
Can’t get the long distance picture to show up. Bummer.

Good NEWS: My nephew who had colon cancer got the news that he is now CANCER FREE. Just had the Scans done after months of Chemo and then Radiation. Best news ever. Hopefully, he will pay better attention to his health now and go to the doctors on a regular basis.

Nice having breakfast out on the deck. But it is starting to get hot out here.

There’s a saying here in The Burg Kathie…”Better Egrets than Regrets”. Wonderful news about your nephew!
After drum we went to a smaller market for some groceries. All good food. Fruit, veg, chicken breasts, salmon and so on. They say eating good can help you lose weight. That’s because you have no money left to weigh you down once you pay for your groceries! Feels like the mid 90’s here now. Chatting with long time residents at The Navy Yard this morning and none of them can remember a summer like this.
Hi Mike.
For what it’s worth “Hi Karen”.
