Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Blazing Heat Wave GIF
Cool Off Climate Change GIF by INTO ACTION

At one point today the REAL FEEL, and it certainly was 'real', was 100 degrees. CRAZY.

Be safe when and if you go outside.

I'll be going over to Jill's later tonight so I don't have to get up early and drive there tomorrow. I'll be there until Tuesday afternoon. Art will stop by, but he has a Eye specialist appt on Monday and Tues is biking day. Might have dinner with him Sunday evening!
Bringing a book to read and Jill has one she said I should like waiting for me.

Later gang.

It certainly was HOT here too Kathie. Even now the real feel is 97F. At least there is a bit of a breeze. Folks dropped by for a spot of lunch today. I BBQ’d ”Smash Burgers”. Super thin and cooked up in no time.
Enjoy your “staycation” with Manny Kathie. I hope the book Jill left is a good one! I’m guessing Ashley is safe and sound in Italy after her red eye flight. Has the rest of The Maxwell Family disclosed their “secret“ destination yet? How’s tricks is Elaine doing today?
How’s tricks in your neck of the woods Mike? Hope you and Fay are staying cool.
See you tomorrow my friends.

Patty, Linda and Michael came over today to do some work for us and Fay wanted to let them know where some papers are. Patty and Michael stayted for dinner but Linda had to go home. It was nice with all three pf them here. The;y power washed the cement floor on the patio where the pear tree dropped a lot of the tiny stems and discolored the cement, it came out like new. We are staying cool Lee, I think your temps are hotter than ours. I sat int t he sun yesterday and today.
Hope everyyone sleeps well tonight.

It seems even Ava is feeling and isn’t a fan of the heat. She hasn’t gotten up yet this morning and we’re usually back from our early walk by now.
Good morning everyone.
73F feeling like 91F headed to a real feel of between 102F and 106F. Crazy weather! I’ve had to water the front baskets mid afternoon because they start to droop a tad. Of course they do get full on afternoon sun.
It would be nice to have the three over to check on you and Fay and do a few chores. The downside of no kids for us…I have to do the chores! The little folks on either side are too little to “hire” to cut grass and things. Young Ben across the street is only interested in soccer and tennis. Oh well, I’m less expensive and after 42 years Lu-Ann has me trained. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
How was your night with Manny Kathie? I’m willing to bet he was spoiled and enjoyed the company.
We have nothing really planned for the day. Even by 9:00 it will be too hot to cut the grass. As a courtesy to neighbours I won’t start the lawnmower before then on a weekend. Even the evenings are too hot. Maybe tomorrow morning after 8:00.
Have a good safe day everyone.

The kids are off to OHIO!
Mike: Have you ever heard of HOCKING HILLS?
They rented a cabin there. The pictures I saw looked really nice.
I guess there is a lot to see and do around there. Water Falls, hiking, etc.

I was just outside on the deck here and right now it wasn’t humid. You can feel the heat, but nothing like yesterday….SO FAR!
Enjoy your Day.

Ir is 88 now and expected to get to 90. I may go out for a while. Michael is still here, he will go to Patties' later in the day, we all slept in this morning. Michael will down load spectrum free movies for me later on.
Lee, we have 4 hibiscus flowers on our plant, the same as yesterday. I guess the plant is shutting down, I look out the kitchen window every; morning and check them out.
I forgot to hit the post reply button again so I will continue now. Michael just left to go to Patties;; so the house is quiet. I get used to having family/friends around, the house feels very empty now.
K2, we have been to Hocking Hills a few times. One of my granddaughters got married there. a very nice place. There is a lot to do. It is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours or 160 miles from here. Fay checked the milage just now on an old K Mart map. We would buy a new map every year. That was our GPS back then.
Lee, I used to water all along the edge of the back yard, flowers garden etc with a hose, count to ten for each plant, it took me more than an hour but we had very nice flowers and garden. Those days are long gone. I don't blame you for not cutting the grass today but afraid it isn't going to be much cooler the next 7 or 8 days. If you do, please be careful.
I am going to get a cup of much needed coffee, join me anyone.

Miss Ava finally rolled out of bed at 7:45. Better late than never I suppose.
We did all get down to The Navy Yard for our walk. There was a beautiful breeze along the river. As long as the breeze keeps up the humidity stays away. At least that’s what I’m going to tell myself when I cut the back grass this evening. After about 7:00 most of the back will be in the shade. I keep telling myself that too.
I did type this about an hour ago and, like Mike, forgot to hit the post button. I’m in good company.

Monday already? I remember when Monday meant back to work. Now it’s just like every other day. It ends in “y” too.
Good morning friends. Once again, I’m the only one up. That’s OK. If Ava gets up shortly we’ll head out. If not she can go in the yard and we’ll get to The River after I get the front grass cut and have my coffee.
I don’t know why Sha Na Na popped into my noggin last evening Mike. I always enjoyed their weekly variety show. I noticed when I cut the back that our hibiscus has fewer blooms than it has had too.
Hi Manny. Oh, you too Kathie. :) By the way, how is Elaine doing? Have you heard from Ash? Will Art be dropping by after his bike ride? I’m just full of questions, aren’t I? Which is also a question.

Today is games day. Gail has the sniffles about a week after a visit from their grandkids. She always seems to come down with something after they visit. Then it hits Jim. So, she and Jim have been “banished” from this week’s gathering. None of us want to get what they have.
Hmmm. 6:40 and I hear Ava stirring. There may be a walk in my immediate future.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon.
Lee: “M” pokes at me everyday so far at 3:00 AM. Jill says give him some scratches and he good until about 6:00 ish. Well, now I know what you go through most mornings with taking Ava for a walk.
I take him outside and he does his business and then we both have breakfast. Made the bed and cleaned up the dishes and then had to message the kids to find out how to use the Kitchen TV. It’s on Firefly. Got that all worked out and I’m just going to leave it on so I don’t have go through that again!
We sat outside for awhile and then took a nice HOT walk and realized were’re DONE FOR OUTSIDE FOR TODAY.

Mike the kids love the place they rented. It has a lower level and main area and a loft. Wrap around porch. I would love to see what it’s like with snow all around it. 5 acres of land and was built in 2023.

Ash is doing great in Rome. Eating all kinds of good food. Shopping and touring historic places. Tomorrow they move on to Florence.
She and her friend and other family girls did a Pasta making lesson. Then got to eat it and of course have some wine.

I’ll try and down load a few pics.

Stay inside and stay cool folks.

LAST ONE… promise!

Ashley found a dress for the wedding she is standing up for. The bride, Aunt, brides Mom and sisters approved! How fun.

Great pics of The Coliseum and gelato stand Kathie! That “cabin” sure looks cozy too. Not that I’m familiar with Jill but if I recall half way correctly Ashley certainly resembles her Mom.
Hotter than heck here today. More-so than yesterday. I’m glad I got the grass cut last evening and this morning.
I do hope you are all doing well and staying cool.

Lee…you are so correct about Ashley looking so much like her Mom. Think Twins! Ha hs

We got a short rain here in the late afternoon. All it did was make it more humid.

You all have a good Tuesday. I’m not sure when my duty ends, but the family is suppose to come home on Tues.

Nite!

watching the clock go around. I have a bug bite that is driving me nuts. On top of that I keep thinking about ALL the Hutch Mates that are not here with us anymore.
It’s going to be a long day!

Have a good day you all.

Must be something in the air Kathie. I have been awake pretty much since 1:10 AM. I got up at 5:00 and even Ava toddled out at that early hour so we went on a shorter early walk. It’s already in the range of 75F feeling like 90F. To quote you, it’s gonna be a long day. Do you have any “After Bite”? We find that helps control the itch.
I pulled a book out of my computer desk drawer yesterday. Safely tucked in the front was this picture I believe you sent me Kathie. It was taken at Pat and Bert’s beloved Grille in February of 2017. Of course it got me to thinking about those in the picture and in our memories who are gone.

Hope you and Fay are staying cool Mike. I know you like the heat but this stretch is starting to make everybody feel uncomfortable.
We’re getting together with our neighbours Daniel, Sarah, Ian and Petch for a bit of a celebration this evening. Ian (originally from Wales), Petch (originally from Taiwan) and Ben (born in Australia) become Canadian citizens today. They have lived, literally, all over the world and now Canada is their chosen home. For certain a reason to celebrate with a BBQ and a lot of laughter.
Have a fantastic day everyone.
