Thanks for the tip “Mito”. For the most part my knowledge of flowers is they come in different colours. Usually from the flower shop. ;) When I plant things I’m from the Willie and Betty school of horticulture. “Willie make it” and “Betty don’t”. So when things take AND bloom I’m thrilled.
Sorry about the smoke from out west Kathie. I’m surprised the hot air coming out of DC doesn’t blow it all away.
Hiya Mike.

Mike: When you said the 2 Big Boy tomatoes were now GONE.....did you guys eat them or did the squirrel get them?
K2, the squirrels got them. They also got some of the cherry tomatoes. Our grape tomatoes are loaded, hope the critters leave them alone. I have made a mint spray before that kept squirrels away, didn't make it this year.
I sat out side for a while, the wind is a little too cool for me, after a half hour I came back inside.
Hi back at you Lee. hope you are having a great day.

Willie and Betty
nice Lee, took me a while to get it.

Mike: It might be to late for this season, but you might need to buy a pkg of black netting that they put n cherry and fruit trees to keep birds off of them. You could cut the big piece into smaller manageable sizes. May e ask the kids to help.

Had breakfast with Jill at the little cozy restaurant in Lake Orion. Got to see Art and the biker folks having their coffee.
I had n reaction from the vaccine I got yesterday, but Art had a uneasy night of getting up and going to the bathroom every hour!! He said he actually thought he was going to be dehydrated by morning from going so much! Hey, I inow “way too much information. Hopefully it was just a reaction from the vaccines he got. He got more than I did.

Okay you all have a good night. And KAREN….we have the light on for you girl.!

…AND the wanted poster. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: I’m glad you figured out my little play on words Mike.
Good Sunday morning everyone.
Always nice to meet up with family and friends for coffee Kathie. I hope Art had a better night last night.
Today we’re off to Boss Bagel to pick up some nice, fresh New York style bagels. Best part, we have a free half dozen through their loyalty program. “Free” is one of my favourite words.
Not much else at this early hour.
Have a Super Sunday everyone.

Hi Wrabbits!

We spent most of the afternoon at the Cottage. Not much activity on the lake today. About 10 Ski-Jets racing around and a few Pontoon boats. The
HAZE Pollution was bad. My eyes felt like I had way too much sand floating around in them. Right now it actually seems to be better outside. You can see some blue sky and the humidity and haze is a lot better.
Did some reading on the deck at the lake and watered the flower boxes and then packed up and came home.

I did a load of wash earlier today and when we came home I put the stuff into the dryer. Well, after what I thought was a reasonable time for it to be DRY I opened the dryer and everything was basically wet and just AIR DRIED. Seems the GAS is not coming on. Mr Handyman, ART, is looking for the dryer manual and going to try and fix it. Meanwhile, the AIR DRY will have to run a lot longer to get things dry.
ALWAYS SOMETHING.

You all take care and have a good night.

By the way, ART did NOT get up every hour to go to bathroom last night. So whatever was going on the night before must have been from the vaccine shots.

Nice to see you Mike and Kathie drop by.
I had just looked out front, we face the west, and commented to Lu-Ann about the haze around the sun. Even the air here smelled a tad.
I got a kick out of your comic Mike.
I sure hope Art, aka Mr. Handyman, is able to get the dryer all sorted.
See you in the morning.

Good Monday morning.
Ava slept in this morning. I was still up a 05:30. We just got back from our “not as early” walk. I noticed the faint scent of smoke in the air and by the time we got back home I could feel it in the back of my throat. I’ve never seen an Environment Canada forecast that looks like this.

Not much more to add since last evening. I do wish you all a magnificent Monday.

Good morning all.

It's hazy here again this morning. I thought this was supposed to be gone by today. My EYES are itchy again this morning. I've been using eye drops, but it doesn't seem to last very long.

Mr Handyman is busy trying to figure out just what's going on with the 25 yr old dryer. I hope he can fix it, because I looked at new ones online and the measurements are much wider than what we have now and higher too. Not sure if we have enough WIGGLE ROOM! Time will tell how things work out today. The cover it off and everything is in the front, so we (he) didn't have to pull out the dryer. He vacuumed everything inside with his shop-vac to start.
ALWAYS SOMETHING!

You all have a good day. Lee try and avoid being outside any more than you have too with the smoke situation.
Mike/Fay enough the outside if it's not too hot. I read somewhere that you won't see any rain for 7 days. Good luck with that.

SAILOR MAN FIXED the dryer issue! So far it's working!

Seems the dryer just wanted some "attention". All Art did was open the front panel and used his shop vacuum to get the dust out and then tested it BEFORE putting it all back together and the igniter and gas worked! Crazy, but let's just hope it continues to give us good service. They don't make them like this anymore.

HAPPY DANCE TIME!
Great job by Art to get the dryer drying again. For a few minutes work to take off the panel, give it a vacuum and fire it up I’m betting it saved a ton of money fora repair or a new unit.
I hope your eyes feel better soon Kathie. You know, we all wait so long for summer to arrive and this year we’ve been trapped indoors because of the ridiculous heat and humidity and again now for smoke.
And in memory of Loni Anderson, one of my favourite TV show theme songs…

wkrp in Cincinnatti, one of my favorite tv shows with some of my favorite characters. I think burt reynolds did her dirt. The smoke and heat must make it difficult to breath for some people, be careful Lee.
Great job by Art, don't you wish all of his repair jobs are that easy. I'm glad he didn't try to blow it any dirt out.
Have a good day

Update on that COMPLETED GAS DRYER JOB!!

It worked until it DIDN'T again!!
So Art took off the front panel check a few things after getting on YouTube to watch a few repair tips and we proceeded to find a PARTS STORE. Not as easy as you think these days. Since everything seems to be ONLINE SHOPPING. Even for parts.

2 places I called were out of business. Another place wanted $45 bucks for the 2 parts needed. We finally found a store that was OPEN and HAD the part for $23.00 bucks tax included. We got in the car and drove the 25 mins and low and behold this place was HUGE. The nice lady remembered me calling and went and got the 2 little Coil round coils no bigger than your thumb to the first knuckle.
We ate dinner and then Mr Handyman put everything back together AGAIN and we put a load of WET clothes inside turned it on and it sounded good and we waited at least 5 mins and opened the door and HOUSTON we had LIFT-OFF. :clap002::emoticon 0102 bigsmile: We came back in 15 mins and it was still HOT when we opened the door. :emoticon 0123 party:

It was a lot of time spent on a simple and not expensive result. It saved us having to look for a new dryer. (for now anyways) They always say that there's really not much to a dryer. Usually, the BELT goes and that's a cheap fix too.

Sorry this was so long, but it was so nice to know it finally worked.

MY EYES are killing me. Better when inside for sure. While driving to the parts store we could see the HAZE and smell the smoke. It's bad out there. Stay inside is all I can say folks.

Good early Tuesday morning everyone.
Great job again by Art to isolate the problem and for you Kathie finding the parts. Not easy when, as you said, everything is online these days. Hopefully your drier will still have a few good years in it. How are your eyes doing?
The smoke warning here keeps getting extended Mike. I didn’t find it as bad when Ava and I were out at 6:00. That’s 6:00 in the morning. I’ve heard that some people that sleep in think there’s only one 6:00 in a day and that happens around dinner time. Did you know that WKRP’s Gary Sandy is from Dayton?
We’re off mid morning to go to the hearing center at Costco. Ava gets to spend the day with friends. Without crossing the border to Michigan the closest Costco hearing center here is in London which is about a two hour drive. The Windsor Costco has eyeglasses but no hearing care. We could go to the Michigan Costco but I wouldn’t get the $1000 hearing care grant from our provincial health plan. We did compare the hearing aid prices on both sides of the border, factored in the grant and the currency exchange rate. We even figured in gas and the toll to cross the bridge or use the tunnel and it’s better all around to get them “hear”.
Have a good, safe day everyone.

HA HA. Hope it all works out good for you Lee/Lu-Ann.

My eyes are better right now, and I'm not going to go out on the deck and see if they continue to be okay. Yesterday (Mon) was horrible.

I have nothing more for you folks. ENJOY THE DAY!

MIKE: Art did get the dryer fixed after we picked up the new part! Works great again.

Stayed inside all day because of the poor air conditions outside and the HEAT & HUMIDITY. :emoticon 0104 surprised:

Now THAT is funny Mike.
It looks like the smoke warning has been cancelled here Kathie.
Very thorough test by the audiologist at Costco. She suggested two behind the ear models, neither the most expensive brands, and I got try them. Without knowing the cost I preferred and chose the least expensive of the two. I thought they had clearer sound and the tips fit in my ear better. My gosh, they’re tiny.
A lot of driving today so I’m going to put my feet up.
Have a good evening everyone.
