Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Thanks Lee. He was 89 yrs old and led a super easy going life. To the point of never having a “CELL PHONE or Computer Just not his style. Had the money to own stuff like that and wax a well educated person, just didn’t need that kind of stuff!

Elaine calked me tonight. WOW, she sounded fantastic.
Had all kinds of X-rays and scans today. Should be going home on Thurs. Her 82nd
B-day is Friday.

Thurs is a DO NOTHING DAY for me. Yippee.

Good night all.

A mixed morning sky with here. Ava and I were cooled by a very brisk wind coming from the south. The clouds were moving so fast it looked like they were being chased by something. As usual one weather service says no rain. Another says risk of thunderstorms.
It sounds like Sonny was a one in a person Kathie. I honestly admire folks, like him, who are free of this digital instant news world we’re caught up in. Great news about Elaine too!
A do nothing day? What exactly does that look like? ;)
Whatever comes your way today my friends, I hope you all have a good one.

sorry about your friend Kathy but great news about Elaine.
I have mostly do nothing days Lee.
Fay and I had a very nice time yesterday and a very good meal. I had an oncology appointment today and that went well, got a shot and scheduled one for January. Fairly cool today, its 81 and will be in the 80s for the most of next week.
Have a great evening.

I made some yummy cookies on my DO NOTHING DAY!!

Burnt Butter Oatmeal Pumpkin cookies by Jennifer Garner.

Let me tell you they turned out GOOD. It's a keeper recipe.

Tomorrow evening the kids are coming over and the FAMOUS AWNING is finally getting put up. YIPPEE. I'll be able to have coffee and toast, etc on the deck in the mornings. I need to make sure to find my "OFF" for the mosquitoes. They have been bad this year with the rain we've had.

I'm going to go and visit Elaine with a container of the cookies as her B-Day gift. It's really hard to 'buy' something for an 82 yr old person.

Off to get a few chapters of the book I'm reading done.

Hope you all had a good day. KAREN IF YOU'RE READING ON HERE I WISH YOU WOULD AT LEAST STOP BY AND SAY HELLO! THANKS. :emoticon 0109 kiss:

WOW! 59F this morning. And no humidity.
Ava was very restless in the night. After I heard her wander down the hall from the bedroom again I decided to just get up and go for our early, I mean early, walk. We were back about the time we are usually heading out! It was predawn so I made sure to put on my reflective harness.
Have a fun day celebrating Elaine’s return home and successful surgery Kathie. I think that even if
the FAMOUS AWNING had been up the extreme heat likely would have kept you off the deck anyway.
Colonoscopy. There’s a word that doesn’t fall in to my category of favourite things to do Mike. I have a really great urologist who, if you stay awake, chats with you during the procedure. I don’t think I’ll ever have a right proper “do nothing day” until we have no dog.
Speaking of “dog”, Ava’s food came in to the vet yesterday. Because of her sensitive tummy she is on prescription food that runs just around $160 for a midsized bag of dry and 12 cans. We’ll pick that up on our way home from either The Navy Yard or our drumming.
To echo what Kathie said,
KAREN IF YOU'RE READING ON HERE I WISH YOU WOULD AT LEAST STOP BY AND SAY HELLO! THANKS.
Have a fantastic day everyone.

Good Morning. Nice t have the Windows and doorwall (slider) open.
62F was a nice change of temps. It won’t last. Next week it’s hot again.

Made a 9x13 choc box cake for our dessert later tonight after the kids gwt done putting up the awning. Got out some Pork & Beans I saved from the 4th of July blast and will make a chopped salad. Kentucky Fried Chicken and that’s a wrap. Nice and easy. I might stop and get some Michigan Corn, but only if I have time. I have too much running around to be cooking.
Lee: Nice that Ava decided to get you up so early. At least that walk is out of the way.

Mike: Proud of you keeping up with your doctors visits.

Our friend, George, from up 24 Mile Rd is spending a couple of days in the hospital. He’s diabetic and had a couple of sores on his leg that were oozing. Went to Urgent Care and they sent him to the ER. Good they got it checked. Poor circulation and being diabetic warrants close attention to wounds like that.
Okay, got to get ready for PT. I’m going to tell the Tech that today is my last day. I feel like he’s done the best he could and I can do most of the exercises at home.
You all enjoy the short break in the HOT temps. Later gang.

Kathy Allen hope you are doing well in case you read alone on here. Please stop in and SAY HELLO! I was thinking of you when I made the Pumpkin Oatmeal cookies yesterday. Think of our Fr. DAVE everytime I post on here. Miss him big time.

It looks like your do nothing day yesterday turned in to do everything day today Kathie. Please keep up with the physio at home. It’s not always easy but it’s important because YOU are important to your family. The real ones and us. :emoticon 0152 heart: Our early corn is ready here too. I think it’s “pirate corn“ because this season it‘s a “buccaneer“! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Twelve bucks a dozen. YIKES!!
Off to drum fit.

Well, I had another do nothing day. Fay and Pattie bought me a new coffee maker, my old one quit heating. It doesn't tale much to make me happy. :)
buccaneer corn, nice play on words, had to read it twice Lee
K2, Like Lee, I hope you keep up with your physio. Movement is very important.
Heavy thunderstorm are due here a little south of here. We were forcasted to get them.

I do like the occasional corny pun Mike. I hope that new coffee maker does a good job for you.
A beautiful day here in The Burg. We could see thunder storms tomorrow evening though.

Kids got the awning up and the new Bamboo shade to keep the 5:00 sun out our eyes when sitting out on the deck is up too and works great. If it lasts as long as the old one it will OUTLAST BOTH OF US!

The kids didn’t want Kentucky Fried Chicken. so we brought in Greek Gyro pitas. They were perfect along with the rest of the stuff.

Mike how fun getting a new coffee pot! Hope the rains aren’t too hard on you down there
Like Lee said we’ll be getting some moisture later Sat afternoon.

Back to reading my book.

Good Saturday morning.
The humidity is supposed to creep back in today making it feel like the mid to upper nineties! Yesterday and early this morning proved to be a nice break from it.
KFC is one of those things I used to really enjoy but now it sometimes doesn’t sit so well Kathie. I bet you’ll really enjoy sitting out now your awning and shade are up. What did the physio people say when you told them you were done?
Has that new coffee maker been christened yet Mike?
Speaking of coffee makers that gives me an idea…
Have a wonderful Saturday.

Coffee made and going out on the deck to enjoy a cup of coffee and a homemade English Muffin.

Art is already out biking.

PT guy said we’re alway here for you! I have 30 days that I

can still go back and continue the remaining treatments if I feel I need them without getting a new proscription from the doctor!

Enjoy your day! I found these guys in the Hutch this morning. They saw the Light On and made themselves at home! Ha ha.

Now that is one inviting deck with a lovely view Kathie. I think we have that same “china” pattern too. ;) Cute rabbits! Ava and I saw about a half dozen on our early walk. I think anyone who has or has ever had a dog knows that look. Nice that you have a little time to assess things and decide if you may need a little physio.
It was beautiful on our back porch this morning. Now the weather folks say it’s 80F but feels 10 degrees warmer.
We were supposed to be going to our neighbours with other neighbours for a Thai inspired dinner. Everyone had been here, then to Daniel and Sarah’s. Poor Petch just sent a note that she’s having a dental emergency! She asked if we could do dinner tomorrow depending on when she sees her dentist. Of course we can. Petch is from Thailand and Ian is from Australia. They, like almost all of our neighbours are, really nice people.
Have a nice afternoon my friends.

Oh Dopey me. I had meant to ask how Elaine is doing Kathie.
It’s clouding over here.

Thanks for asking about Elaine. She’s doing very good so far. She has an appt on Monday at the Hosp to get the temp/pacemaker detached.

NO RAIN HERE ….just OVERLY MUGGY/HUMID. YUK.
You ALL have a blessed Sunday.

Here are a few pics of the GREEN AWNING and sun shade finally up!

Good Sunday Morning.
Kathie, you and Art have a beautiful home. I wish we had just a little of your knack for making your home look so welcoming.
That is excellent news about Elaine.
How’s that new coffee maker Mike? Do you use ground coffee or K-cups?
After a couple of 59F starts to the day it’s already 72F here feeling like 81F. We did get a little rain last night but that only served to make it feel a little extra muggy. They are calling for humidex values over 110F this coming Thursday.
So, going out on a limb I booked our beloved Drury Inns for January and March of 2026. Florence, KY and Morrow, GA are on the calendar. I’ll check the rates occasionally because if they drop and I call, Drury will drop the price. I do believe that everything will work out and be alright. I hear a tune in there…

Funny, so many people think of Bob Marley for his use of marijuana. I tend to think of his humanitarian efforts and great coffee!
Have a very wonderful Sunday.
