Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning from our chilly little bit of Florida! So here we are at the start of the week we've all been waiting for - the eviction of the toddler from our white house. I hope he doesn't let the doorknob kick him in the a$$!!!

With schools, banks and the PO closed today, there isn't much to do, so you know what that means ... shopping! We need to make a run to Sam's for a few necessities, and yes, wine is considered a necessity around here these days considering the goings on in DC. I also need to celebrate taking the last of the meds prescribed at the hospital. Two less bottles of pills to worry about!
Might also take a ride to find out where this church is that we have to go for our second shot next week. Neither of us have ever heard of the road it's on, so we may as well take a road trip to the other side of town.
Of course, before any of this can happen, Bert has to get out of bed and so far, that hasn't happened!!

Karen - How can you have that much in your garage that you need to clean it out? My goodness, you haven't lived there all that long, or at least it seems like it hasn't been that long.

Tony - Hoping there's no rocking and rolling going on over on the west coast these days.

Lee - Love that Jimmy buffet song and now you've got me singing it in my head! I'll have to play it again when I'm looking for inspiration as to what to put in the seafood gumbo.

Dave - I made a comment yesterday on FB about seeing the end of the my pillow guy and our son in NC jumped all over me for it, saying that he made the best pillow ever and that even his wife has one and they just love their pillows, blah, blah, blah. Yep, he's still sucking up the kool-aid. Just don't know where we got him from. Good thing he doesn't live anywhere near the rest of the family or there would be many a battle!!

Kathie - How nice of you to do all that delivering yesterday. I'm sure everyone appreciated your poppy seed rolls. I too had to look up your Serbian Ketchup steak, as I had never heard of it either. Learn something new every day. One question though - Why does it have to be made with mashed potatoes and peas? Why peas? Can't you have green beans or corn instead? Just curious as even the recipe calls for mashed potatoes and peas.

OK, now that I've taxed my brain enough this morning, I think it's time for another cup of coffee as I wait for "Sleeping Beauty" to get up. Have a wonderful Monday and do all you need to do to stay healthy and safe! :)

Good afternoon...told you I'd be back...

Pat, good luck with Sleeping beauty....although with our weather lately I don't really blame Bert for wanting to stay in bed a little while longer...
And yep....hard to believe but it will be 4 yrs in April that I moved in here...just trying to get rid of stuff & better organize the things I do keep....
You had asked where I am going tomorrow for the eye Dr....it's called St. Lukes in the villages....

Dave, good luck to Kathi & her "masked" granny duties today....sad what we have to do to keep ourselves safe in this mess....
I've always been able to park my truck in the garage....with the exception of the time I had a pallet of floor tile in the middle of the garage...I'm just trying to make sure it stays that way by doing a purge of useless stuff...like the leftover paint...there wasn't enough to ever repaint the room...but I wanted to keep it for touch ups....5 gallon cans sat for 4 years taking up space under my work bench...now reduced to 5 jelly jars...

Lee, hope that LuAnn can get her meds sorted out to get the best results from them... and how did my Publix trip go you asked....well...for a Publix trip I got out with only spending $19 so I'd say it went pretty good....bought most of the frozen items I had went for & of course a few items that were not on my list but were "good buys"...

Kathie, with all these porch deliveries you are making lately one might think you are mapping out your "Easter Bunny" route for this Spring....I'm sure all were happy to receive your goodies once again...

Tony, time to stop by & say hi or else the talk is bound to turn to receipes & shopping again...

Sun is shining which is deceiving because it's still on the chilly side...I just baked a pan of brownies to help warm it up in here a little bit...
Sat. I had a crock pot full of chili going...turned out pretty tasty...and even have some in the freezer for later....yesterday was a pork roast in the oven....with all this cold weather I'm turning into Betty Crocker....sure hope it warms up soon!!

Well, not much going on here in The Burg today.
A bit of a drizzle off and on all day.
Walked the dogs. Walked us.
I get the feeling that a number of you can’t wait to see Spongedon Trumpants leave Washington. I hope they check The White House and charge him for any missing stuff and damage.
Karen, it’s always hard to pass up on a good buy! I know what you mean about old paint. I took 23, I think it was, part cans to the hazardous waste place at the dump when we moved. We go through this meds adjustment every now and again. Lu-Ann does her best to keep her PD at bay.
Good news about the pills Pat! Just keep taking it easy for a bit. Heck, milk it a tad. You deserve to be treated special.
Police in Macomb are looking for a porch “Robin Hood”. It seems this masked person leaves all number of treats and meals for unsuspecting neighbours. The world needs more Kathie’s right now.
A thing that we once may have embraced like watching grandkids takes on a whole new thing when masks are involved Dave. That’s gotta be tough. It would be neat if The Bills made it to The Big Show. I fear if they do they’ll have to face their old nemesis Tom Brady. Don’t tell Bill I said that...
You all have a fantastic rest of the day.

Hi all. Cleaning and pitching papers that were all over the desk in the computer area. Little pieces of papers with "JUNK" written on them, recipes that I printed off and will never make, old calendars. Why do I save this crap. I had boxes from the first iPhones we ever got. Useless boxes.

I had to laugh at all of you looking up "Ketchup Steak". So I looked it up to and low and behold they had a lot of recipes of the stuff.
BB: We had peas with our Ketchup Steak because we LOVE PEAS!

HUGE TIP: If you do plan on making this easy and delicious dinner make sure you ask your butcher or the guy in the MEAT AREA of the store where you go to CUBE the MEAT you buy. Other wise the meat will be tough. Or you can just buy CUBE STEAK and use that, but it's not as good as a sirloin steak. Just thought I'd share that tip with you all.

Okay, my ankles are swollen for some reason tonight. I think it's from sitting on this slightly low computer chair for hours on end.

Tomorrow I might just open that new computer box and start to read the instructions.
I still have some files to delete on this OLD computer before I set the new one up and do a transfer of files. Lord I don't think I remember how to do any of this. The mind isn't as clued in as it was when I got this current computer and set it up. HELP!!

Lee: I'm glad that Lu-Ann keeps on top of her meds and exercising. I know it's ever so important for her. Have you guys set up a work area in the new houses basement?
Is that basement something you will be finishing off some day, or will it be left alone as is?
Can't live without a basement once you have one. I give the Florida gals a lot of credit for living without a basement. I don't think Tony/Nancy have a basement either.

VACCINE TIME TUES....3:00 pm Yippee. We might just live to see Spring! Ha ha.
Okay, I need to get off of here and try and catch Jimmy Kimell or Steven Colbert.

Good morning Wabbitts!

Another day where it'll be mostly cloudy and in the lower 30's.

Of course wine is a necessity, BB. Hope you don't run into problems getting that second Covid shot. On last night's news they were saying that about 30,000 people due for the second shot were past due for it due to random shortages of it. That and the fact that vaccines said to be in reserve weren't there.

KC; I know what you mean about collecting old gallon cans of paint for touch-ups. Heck, half the time after sitting for a year or two the paint left inside turns into a rock. Good idea about putting the small bits of paint into jelly jars. I'm hoping that this new eye doctor will fix you up right this time.

That "Brittlestar" guy is one funny fella, Lee. Last night I was looking at the spread for Sunday's Bills/Chiefs game. (Drat, a night game.) As of now, it looks like a toss-up. As is the 3 PM game between the Packers and the Buccaneers.

"we LOVE PEAS!" YUK, K2. In my book, it's just mush you feed a baby. :)

Nothing of any consequence going on around here today. And no written in stone plans.

Good morning and ONLY TWENTY-FIVE HOURS TO GO!!!!!! Time to kick lil t to the curb and have a REAL president again. Got the popcorn and snacks all ready!

Dave - Our vaccine is not in short supply here. We're getting Moderna (I think that's how it's spelled). The Health Department calls everyone and sets up your appointment when they know they have enough. I know at least 6 others from our neighborhood who will be getting their second shot on the 26th.

Kathie - Good for you getting your shot. Your arm will hurt where they jab you for a few days, but that's about the worst of it. Now I understand it's possible to have more of a reaction (mostly tiredness) after the second shot. We shall see and I'll let you and everyone else know.
Not a very big fan of peas. There are a few dishes I put frozen baby peas in, but not as a separate veggie. Bert's basically the same way, so that works around here.

Not a lot going on around here today. We did all our running around yesterday, so we get to take it easy today. Unfortunately, it's still too chilly to sit outside. That should come later in the week. I hope!

Karen - How'd you make out last night with the freeze? Did your protected plants survive? I hope it didn't go as low as they said it would for Marion County. Just wrong in Florida on all levels.

Time to think about fixing some lunch. Bert did a quick stop at Aldi's yesterday to pick up some cheeses for us to snack on. Only problem is that we're running out of crackers now. I see a trip to Publix!!

Have a great day everyone. Got anything interesting going on in your neck of the woods? Whatever you might be doing, be careful and stay safe. :)

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.

We had big bowls of slow cooked Oatmeal with Blueberries or Strawberries on top for breakfast. Wanted a nice hearty meal since it was 21F outside when we got up. Brrrr.

DAVE/ Karen: Art has been putting Kitty Litter (bought at the Dollar Store- cheap stuff) into the 10-12 cans of old paint he had under his work bench for years. Our trash hauler has rules
on how you can put the cans out for pick-up at the curb. The paint inside the cans must be SOLID and NO LIDs on them. Hence, the Kitty Litter. It works great, but takes a few days to get hard. The Dollar store is the best place to buy cheap litter for this job.
Funny we all are doing the same thing lately. Good to get rid of paint that isn't even on the walls anymore. WHY or WHY do we save paint that OLD?? Ha Ha

I was proud of myself for cleaning out a big garbage bag of junk papers in and around the computer area. The shelf in the closet where the desk is located is nice and neat now too. I saved the boxes from the Mouse and the Router. I found a binder full of instructions for a Olympic camera that I don't even know where it is. Time to throw that out too! There was a remote control from Hewlett Packard that I have no clue if it's for the printer or monitor or keyboard??? I'll keep it, but I never used the darn thing! It was buried on a shelf on this computer table.

I like the set-up of the table inside the closet. We put wire shelves on both sides of the walls. One for the printer and one for just "stuff"!! When we aren't using the desktop computer we just close the closet doors and the only thing that you can see is the plastic floor mat and computer chair. Which I can live with.
It keeps us from storing clothes and other stuff in this spare bedroom closet.
We did leave the J-Hook Shelf in place in case we ever needed to use this as a REAL CLOSET!
I hung a huge calendar from it. I'll try and take a few pictures so you all get the idea of what this set up is like.

The Buffoon isn't getting too many RSVP's from his invitations for his FAREWELL EXIT. Ha Ha. Who wants to be there at 7:30 a.m. Can you imagine how early you'd have to get up and all the security you'd have to go through. I hope the whole thing is a FLOP for him.
I can't wait until he gets on that plane for the last time and it takes him and Melania away. I doubt you'll ever see him in Washington, DC again!

Out of here for now. Today's our BIG DAY. 1st VACCINE SHOT! It's like being "Born Again". Ha Ha! Or maybe I should say allowing us to have hope of LIVING a tad LONGER in this mixed up world! It will be worth the pain in our arms!! :emoticon 0137 clapping:

Later gang!

PAT: Just saw you posted. Have a good day. You guys need to start making lists of things you run out of and do a once a week shopping. Save time and gas.....and it's safer in these crazy times. Ha Ha.........now I just know that won't happen, but I wanted to plant the seed to see if it could grow on you! :emoticon 0140 rofl: :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Kathie - Computer area looks good. Let's see how long it stays that way!! LOL
Bert needs to buy a new computer asap. His old bunny is on it's last leg and is failing fast. Biggest problem is that he hasn't a clue as to what to buy and will have to rely on our resident geek, Gary, to tell him what to buy and then to set it up for him. Much as I hate the laptop, I do not want to go back to sharing one computer again.

Make a list and do once a week shopping? Yeah, right! We both look for excuses to get out of the house as often as possible. I have never been one who is content to sit home twiddling my thumbs. I guess that's something that I've kept since the days I was teaching.

To the right of the PRINTER is another wire shelf. The computer is half on the desk and half on the shelf for convenience.
I should be opening up that new COMPUTER BOX, but I fear all the frustration I will be going through hooking it up!
I need to call Comcast and ask just which model of Modem to buy at Best Buy. I want to take this current one back to Comcast. It's costing me a fee monthly that I can do without by just buying my own. Back when I got this current computer the stores did not have this type of Modem and you had to get it from Comcast. Now you can buy them outright at a store.

Thank goodness I have my iPhone and my iPad to fall back on in case I screw things up BIG TIME installing this computer! Ha Ha.

Bad part is Art prints off his daily Detroit Free Press Crossword Puzzle and Sudoku game. He'd be lost without that for sure. And to buy a newspaper when we already have a online subscription is crazy. They want $2 bucks for the daily news at the grocery store!

Where is everyone today?? FROZEN from the cold more than likely.

Later..........

Good afternoon.
It sounds like you are all doin’ good. And have been busy!

I was at COSTCO at 8:04 this morning. When I was there 3 weeks ago I picked up a pair of jeans. I had taken a photo of the label so I would get the right size. Got them home and they weren’t even close to fitting. I had other stuff in my list so took care of that and the exchange today. It wasn’t too busy when I went in. Got home and we took the pups for their walk. A cool breeze off the river today but at least the sun was out!
Kathie, you need to open the computer box, pull the stuff out and get Pat to Zoom Gary in for you. Or have Eric pop over for 20 minutes to get you up and running. How is Art’s eye coming along?
Lu-Ann used to laugh at me because I’d pop in to the grocery every couple of days Pat. Since she retired she gets it that you can’t shop for fresh stuff once a week. I guess I’m never gonna convince anyone looking for a computer to buy a Mac, am I.
The school of thought seems to be if Mahomes plays The Chiefs will have the edge but as you eluded to the current line is pretty much a push Dave. Brittlestar, or Stewart Reynolds as his Mom calls him when he’s in trouble, is usually always good for a laugh. Something we need these days.
I’m taking Lu-Ann to the market tomorrow morning at 9:00. I think it’s the market because she said something about smashing melons. Then it will be home to watch Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris become President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Hi to the rest of you fine, fine folks.
Enjoy your day stay safe.

I’m sorry Kathie. You had asked about a workout area for Lu-Ann. Yes, she has workout room which, prior to our ongoing lock downs, we were going to finish. But with stay at home and nobody allowed in your home we don’t feel right doing it with Dave and Doug’s help even though they offered. It’s hard to be socially distanced when you‘re doing drywall. She does have her treadmill, bike, heavy bag, speed bag and a carpeted area with thick rubber mat underpaid for her “free” exercises and yoga. She also has the HUGE tv and Bose sound system that we had in the family room in the old house.

Quick check in as I'm still mostly blind from my visit to the eye Dr. I had forgotten about having to have my eyes dialated so I'm glad I had Barb drive me....
Dr. visit went well...I really like the Dr. & the staff...he actually talks to you & explains things unlike the previous Dr. who only seemed to be interested in how many procedures he could sell you... the Dr. said as far as the surgery & the lens replacement it all looks good....he did say there is a membrane behind the lens that can collect cells & act as a "2nd cataract" which can easily be cleaned up with a laser...he questioned me regarding glaucoma & I said as far as I knew I did not have it, but my prior regular eye Dr. thought I might be getting it, but then Dr. Crowley said I didn't have it....the new Dr. is going to re-test me for it because he said the nerves in my eye looked "suspicious"....so I go back Thurs for the Field vision test & again Monday for a pressure check...after that he will discuss the findings & options....like I said I really did like the place...Pat....you would know...being in the "Villages" it's quite fancy....almost like walking into a ritzy hotel lobby...now I'm off to rest my eyes for a while....catch you all tomorrow

That is darned good news Karen. Not that you have to back to see the doc but that you like him and the way he cared about your eyes! I suspect there’s nothing in The Villages that isn’t fancy.

Lee: Good to know that Lu-Ann has a place for her exercising. It’s good you’re waiting until things have settled down with the darn Virus. Tell her I’m proud of her for taking such good care of herself. It’s not easy, but it’s important.
It’s snowing here at 10:25 pm.
Nice and steady. I did my late evening run to get milk and a few things like banana’s and supplies to make a pizza in a few days.
Art’s eye is doing really good so far. The drops are crazy. We keep setting the oven timer so
we don’t miss any drips!
He took his glasses off when we were in the car because he can see so much better out of the eye that just had the implant.

Karen: I am so glad you like your new doctor. If you can remember ask him if doing the Laser is called “YAK”. I can tell you Jill & I both had it done after our Cataract surgery and it cleared everything up. Well worth the money. Trust me. And no down time. No floaters anymore either.
I’m glad you went.

Both Art & I are still doing fine after the vaccine. Hope it stays this way.
You all have a FANTASTIC Inauguration Day tomorrow! Let’s ho it goes off without any trouble. Here’s the pics the nice lady took of us getting our vaccine. I never thought I’d be so over the moon to
get a shot that hopefully will let me love a little longer!

It's a great day, Bunnies! FINALLY!

The Buffoon is being evicted from D.C., FINALLY. And it's pretty much all that is on my mind this morning.

The new tenant of the White House is nice enough of a fella. A guy who has shown honor, decency, and empathy. Something that he's exemplified all his life.

Plus there's the bonus of a Vice President that's educated, tested as prosecutor and California's Attorney General, effective, and confident.

So here is the song I picked for this day just for the Buffoon.

And YES I have one of my Biden/Harris signs back in the front yard for the day.

Happy New Year Vintage GIF

And the people did rejoice.
How quick you forget Dave. His name was donald, not Jack. ;)
Today will be a real shot in the arm for all of the good folks in America.
Yesterday was a shot in the arm for Art and Kathie.
Stay happy, safe and healthy my friends.
