Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning. No tornados yesterday but some very strong winds. Again under a tornado watch until 2 pm. We were under a warning earlier this morning and got 1.20 inches of rain in an hour.

We will be going to lunch pretty soon and then to BJ's.

Yesterday's Xfinity race was won by a driver that has been in Xfinity for 13 years but only one of those was a full time ride, the rest being only part time. It was his first win.

All have a great day.

Sunday…Praying for all of us to have a good week. I’m doing that from home!
Still raining here. Sometimes harder and sometimes just drizzle. Just gloomy Without any sunshine the past few days. :(
Karen: Be safe working on that downspout. Push a broom handle down it to hopefully get junk out of it. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Art has been touching up the crown moldings that butt up to the ceiling in the kitchen. With all the new drywall in the ceiling and new crown molding nailed up there things have shrunk away. He’s Re-Caulking. This happens when you do projects like a remodel. He didn’t want to have the contractor come back because he knows “HE” can do a better job. I agree with him.
It’s not a major job, just a lot of angles.
Meanwhile, I was the cover the counters and cabinets in the area person! And yes, I do a excellent job too. Ha ha.

Running out of juice on this iPad. Be back later.

Enjoy your day.
BB: I saw a Tornado went through Palm Beach Gardens area close to West Palm Beach. Way too much of that rain and winds going on so early. Hope it keeps missing your area.

Good morning, everyone! After a very noisy start to our day (torrential rain and T&L) around 6 AM, it is now a beautiful day. Temps probably won't reach 80 though and we're getting strong winds just to make life interesting.

Bill - I'm sorry about all those ads for deathSantis you are getting. Apparently they are being shown all over the country, especially in blue states. My family all think he will not announce he's running any time soon as he'll defer to lil t. I'm not so sure the way he's been all over the country and now internationally making stops.
I told you all about that green energy park they want to build right outside our community. People were suggesting writing to the governor to stop it. Seems like that isn't going to do any good. While in Korea, he signed with a Korean company to put in a hydrogen plant in Polk County, which is right next to us. He'll do anything to make a name for himself and to get his picture on the news.

Karen - Good luck cleaning out that downspout. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix.

Kathie - Cute videos! I got a good laugh out of them. Have fun with your cover the counter and cabinets job. Do you need any special training to do that?

Lee - Not under house arrest. Just not comfortable with this thing around my neck. I don't really want to go very far as it's so uncomfortable. We still have 7 punches left on our Sea World International Food Festival which ends next weekend. I don't want to go, so Bert & Missy are going either Thursday or Friday while I stay home. If I have any problem while they are gone, I can call Jimmy or Wesley. Bert & Missy really won't be gone that long, especially since Bert already told her he will not ride any roller coasters with her!

Dave - You didn't get your invitation to the coronation? Mine came the other day. Sorry you're not invited. I'll tell you all about it after I get home.

Started this hours ago and then had a senior moment where I forgot to post it. Have a great day!

Karen: Be safe working on that downspout. Push a broom handle down it to hopefully get junk out of it. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Good idea Kathie but there are a few problems with logistics...
1. the down spout coming off the gutter is a zig zag connection, sort of like a Z so the broom won't work and most of all #2 that would involve getting on a ladder & climbing above the gutter which is about 8-9 feet above the ground so it's just easier to take it apart from ground level to get the gunk out. Most likely whatever is clogging it is right in that Z connection Going to tackle it later on this afternoon, right now I need some lunch, 2 cups of coffee & a piece of coffee cake are not going to do it for me

I called up "CHARLIE" and asked if he'd send me a few blank invitations to his "GIG" next week and he complied!
Print this off and fill
in your Names and come appropriately dressed for the occasion! See you there! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

How nice that "Charlie" sent you some spare invitations to his coronation next Saturday, K2. And you were generous enough to share them. I've already picked out my favorite Hawaiian shirt for the occasion.

Remember KC; Taking apart your gutters and downspouts is like working on a puzzle. You shouldn't have any pieces left over.

BB; Hopefully someone can find some local rules or zoning technicality to stop this factory building by you.

I'm impressed Lee. Using "albatross" and "cumbersome" in the same sentence. I see you've renewed your subscription to Readers-Digest.

Sometimes Amazon Prime outdoes itself in how fast it delivers the goods. I ordered a new beard trimmer at 10 yesterday morning, and it was sitting on our front porch at 8 PM.

Good morning to a new month. Yesterday afternoon I managed to spill iced coffee on my computer, I think I got all of it out and did use the spray air on it, have it open and on it's side if there was any more in it. I will check later to see if it is dead or not. Glad I have the smaller computer that I bought for going to Alaska last year, so am using it. But if the other is dead then I will see about getting a new on in that size.

Yesterday's race was postponed to today so will be watching that at noon.

All have a great day.

May Day GIF by Chibird

Well it's MAY already and still gloomy here in Michigan today! Bummer. I actually feel like the best of SPRING missed us here in our area this year. Suppose to have light showers on and off today. So far NO SUNSHINE.

Our local ACE HDWE had a sale on Mixed fruits & nuts and seed BIRD SEED. I was in there buying a FLAPPER for the toilet tank and broke down and bought the sale seed. Buy one get one free! The Cardinal was at the feeder already this morning enjoying the treat. Once these bags are gone the birds are on their own for the Summer. Can't spoil them too much! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

LEE: We have 3 Rabbits, rather big ones, chasing each other around the backyard. They're fun to watch, but I want them GONE before I start planting my POSIES. Need to make a trip to the Grain Elevator store to buy some Castor Oil for the MOLES and some BLOOD MEAL to scatter around to try and get these Rabbits on the move! ALWAYS SOMETHING!
By the way I was glad to read that Lu-Ann got a good report on her recent Dr's visit. Tell her I'm proud of her keeping up the exercises and stretches. It's working.

Nancy: Bummer on the iced coffee spill. Hope the computer dries out and isn't all sticky inside!

No work on the ceiling joints today. Art wants to make sure it dries completely before he touches up things with some paint.

DAVE: I think your choice of your favorite
Hawaiian shirt will be perfect for the ROYAL EVENT next week. And I think long pants might be in order for this event. Just remember to bring along your favorite HOT SAUCE to add to the bland English food that will be served! :emoticon 0100 smile:

Karen: Hope you conquer the down-spout without too much trouble.

I was thinking about the SUN SAIL COVER at Janes place. I wonder if you added a Bungie type of cord if that it would have a little "GIVE" or "STRETCH" and might keep it from coming down in the wind? Just a thought.

BB: Hope you have a good day today. I am amazed that your GOVERNOR can just keep signing all these crazy bills and laws. Do they get passed by your representatives or does he have some kind of EXTRA SPECIAL POWER to do WHATEVER he feels like. Seems like he is signing stupid bills every HOUR on the HOUR.
I saw that one athlete that plays on a Miami team is MOVING OUT OF FLORDIA because of his daughter is TRANS. Said he just can't take a chance on the government taking away his daughter because he approves of HER CHOICES. Good for him.

Bill: Hope you and Rita are doing well over your way.

Later gang........off to make a SMALL batch of Apple Fritters for snacking. I somehow over bought on APPLES and need to do something with some of them. Besides it feels like WINTER around here and that reminds me of Apple Fritters! :D

Enjoy your day.

Good late morning, gang! Another beautiful day here with only a 1% chance of rain! How do they figure that %?

Dave - Everyone here is trying their hardest to get the County Commission to deny this green energy company's plans for this area. There are so many other places in our county that it could be placed. It doesn't have to be built where 35,000 people live in the immediate area. Knowing our County Commission, they'll say the he!! with the residents and just approve it for the $$$$$. This is for land that was DONATED to them from the man who used to own our property also and was supposed to be a park. Now they're looking at selling over 400 acres and keeping 42 acres for the park. My question would be - Who would want to bring their kids to a park next to an industrial complex? I know I wouldn't take my grandkids there.

Nancy - Good luck with the computer. I had that happen to me twice in about 3 weeks! Once was a cup of coffee and the second time a glass of wine. Both times the computer was fried. At least the second time (the coffee) the new computer was under warranty and it was replaced. Since then, I have a plastic cover over the keyboard and happily, I haven't spilt anything on that since I got it. These plastic covers are available for all laptops on Amazon.

Kathie - I see you just posted. Our governor has a repub legislature that will put forth anything

Boy, talk about senior moments!! Apparently, I accidentally posted the above without realizing it when I was only part way through that last comment. So now I will finish that thought ...

Kathie - I see you just posted (all those hours ago). Our governor has a repub legislature that will put forth anything he tells them to. He then will sign it all for a photo op. He uses people & children for those photo ops too. The man has no shame! He's just a petty dictator that he will go after, if you disagree with him. b*sr*rd!!!!

Dave - I forgot to mention earlier that for dinner last night we had peppers, onions & sausage sandwiches. Unfortunately, it was NOT pork sausages. We had both spicy chicken and spicy turkey ones that Bert grilled on the BBQ. The turkey ones, while being very spicy, were also very dry on the sandwich being they have no fat in them. Might be ok in spaghetti sauce, but I wouldn't want them on a sandwich again. The spicy chicken sausages weren't that bad on the sandwich, so that's what I'll use again.

Wesley is here helping is grandpa do some work outside. Good thing they take breaks once in a while because it is pretty warm out there in the sun.

Trying a new recipe tonight. Making orange chicken. It's Chinese, but made low sodium. I'll let you know what I think of it tomorrow.

if you disagree with him. b*sr*rd!!!!
I’d like to buy a vowel. ;)
I wonder why the governor feels so hell bent on being a jerk Pat. I’ve even read that some of the other elected officials in Tallahassee are scratching their heads. It sounds like Bert and Missy will be able to use up the punch cards. Can they get food to go and bring you something?
Hope you all had a great day. I started my day asking Ava to drop the bunny she caught at 6:00 am. She did and said bunny scampered off. I know it’s nature and all but…Oh well, bunny seemed no worse for the experience.
Rain off and on all day. It feels like it could snow!
Amazon offered that service when we were in FL Dave. Order it and by the time you log off it’ll be there.
Always good to snap a pic of the downspout before you start Karen. Helps keep all of the zigs and zags in the right order.
Did they get the entire race at Dover completed today Nancy?
What a switch Bill. The Bruins are golfing and The Leafs are still playing.
Yes Kathie, I’m quite proud of the effort Lu-Ann puts in to keep her PD at bay. We taped CBS Sunday Morning to watch the Michael. J. Fox interview.
Other than that, and a bunch of stuff I’ve forgotten, that’s about it from The Burg.
Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening. About 5 pm I decided to try the computer and it is fine. No problems with it.

The race today went the full length. The winner had not won a race in 54 races and his brother was the winner Saturday and they bot race for the same team. They are the second set of brothers to win in a weekend but the first for the same team.

All have a good night.

Being a typical guy, I felt the joy yesterday of buying a new tool. A thrill like no other.

So Dave, why did you buy the bolt cutters? To cut in half some dog chews.
1f644.png
No joke.

These 2 doggies just love the dog treats, but they are a bit big for them. So just cut them in half. Easier said than done. These chew treats are the size of a 5 inch drinking straw. But solid as a bone. You can't break them in half with your hands, nor using a knife, nor an electric knife, or pliers or even even using tin-snips.

So we headed off to Lowe's hoping to find some tool that would cut them in half. Luckily we were helped by a salesperson willing to think outside the box. We tried about every cutting tool they had until we bumbled into bolt cutters. BINGO. Easy peasy.

So happy Lee that Ava dropped the little bunny. I'm not sure either of my 2 pooches would have. Hope Ava got a nice treat for letting go.

Looks like all of us Bunnies are getting our fair share of spring rains. Somehow our lawn guy snuck in between showers and got the lawn mowed. A nice surprise.

A not so nice surprise was getting a letter informing me that I had hit the Medicare "donut-hole". That's in record time for me. And to think my teachers often said that I didn't apply myself.

Summer Camp Island GIF by Cartoon Network
It's "CHILLY" AGAIN this morning. 38F now. Brrrr
The Gas company is getting a EXTRA DOSE of money from all of us up here. Furnace is working overtime. :(

Dave: Good thinking on finding something to cut up those Doggie Chews. You can also go around town cutting LOCKS off of Bikes to get some extra use out of the Bolt Cutters! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I have things to complete around here, but just don't have the MOTIVATION. Sure wish I'd get a STREEK of excess energy and get some of these small projects done and over with. I think I need some SUNSHINE after 3-4 days of none around here to help me out.

You all have a good day and I'll be back later.

Motivate Happy Birthday GIF by INTO ACTION

Quick good morning, everyone! Off to get blood work done in just a few minutes.

Dave - I would never of thought of bolt cutters to cut up dog chews. You're lucky you found someone at the store who was willing to help you.

Lee - Glad Ava dropped the bunny. She's a real sweetie. Not many dogs I know of would have done that.

Nancy - Glad your computer is still working for you.

So I made the orange chicken last night. The reviews are in and they're mixed. I really liked it, but Bert not so much. I think he screwed up putting more soy sauce into it. There's still some left. Might have Missy or Wesley try it if and when they come for dinner tonight. They'll be coming IF we can get mussels at Restaurant Depot after the blood work is done.

Time now to run. I'll be back ...

A late good morning. Got a real good sleep last night.

Bruce goes for the first appt at the dentist for his crown. Not sure if I will go with him or not. My hands are both swollen and my one ankle hurts a lot.

All have a great day.

Sadness continues to afflict Boston sports fans as the Celtics followed the Bruins lead and lost to the 76ers last night. Keep repeating: "It's only one game. It's only one game."
Gray clouds quickly overcame the sunlight this morning and now they threaten us with more rain to go with the chilly temperatures that Mother Nature is providing.
Kevin and Jamie are in Bermuda on a 7 night cruise out of Boston and posted pictures of a pretty much deserted Horseshoe Bay beach. Guess it is true that Bermudians don't go to the beach before Memorial Day regardless of the temperatures.
That seems much too early to reach the Medicare donut hole, Dave. Don't envy you in the slightest. Here's hoping that Rita and I can avoid reaching that plateau for a while
anyway.

Light showers AGAIN! 44F but feels much colder!

This is for all you Florida Belles! Mickey is doing his best to scare DeSantis out of town!

Yes, the rain and cold just doesn’t want to give up. We caught a break long enough to get out for our walk. We only bumped into one other of the “usual suspects” and very few squirrels.
Somebody was on their toes to come up with the bolt / treat cutter idea Dave. I have managed over the course of three days to get the grass cut here too.

Bruce goes for the first appt at the dentist for his crown.
Sounds like Bruce is having a coronation of his own Nancy. Fun facts about the Truex family!
The beaches are empty here too Bill. Although not that long ago with the temps we were having I think we all thought we’d be on local beaches by now too!

You can also go around town cutting LOCKS off of Bikes
Hmmm. Speaking from experience Kathie? A great pic of Mickey chasing DumSantis. Kudos to whoever cobbled that picture together.
Well Pat, you made the orange chicken and you like it. I always hate it when I put the time, effort and cost into a meal that even I’m not fond of. I still can’t believe “they” want to put a big plant so close to residential. I guess, sadly, money does speak louder than words.
How did the hoisting of the sail go Karen?
Breakfast tomorrow will be at Wolfhead Distillery, just up the road. Tomorrow is their first day serving breakfast. We have been for lunch and dinner in the past and the food has always been great. A fun start to the day for our group of 8.
Should run. Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening, another crazy couple of busy days around here!

Pat, glad the orange chicken recipe came out to your liking, I love chinese food but never have very much luck making it at home, unless you count re-heating the leftovers.

Dave, I never in a million years would think of cutting doggie bones with bolt cutters! If they are that hard how in the world do the doggies eat them?

Kathie, you are turning into our resident A/V tech poster here, good work! Bummer about having to turn the furnace on again, I'm grumbling because it's really time to turn the air on here, but I'm resisting (for now)

Lee, sounds like a fun breakfast you have planned for tomorrow, I'm sure we can count on a group pic or 2, right?

Nancy, you sure can't catch a break with your hands swelling & hurting, that has got to be miserable!

Bill, you know the ole saying, ya win some & ya lose some. But losing not nearly as much fun as winning!

Got Jane's sun sail re-attached with no problems & while I was there I put a vinyl cover on the cushion of the rolling stool I had fixed for her. Turned out pretty cute, but I warned her she better be holding onto the counter or have it pushed against the wall anytime she goes to sit down. She already went plop on the floor trying to sit down in a moving chair!
Got the gutter fixed, I think! I didn't take it all the way apart, just up to the Z and then pounded on that with a hammer to knock all the stuff out of it that was clogging it, quite a bit of roofing stuff came out. Only downside, I should have used a rubber mallet now a regular hammer cause now I have a dent & possible a hole in the downspout elbow. I'm waiting on it to rain to see if it's cleared out enough & if it is going to leak. If it does leak I have a new elbow to replace it OR if it isn't leaking to bad I may patch it from the inside with some of the roof patch that we used on Barb's trailer.
Went to Miss Linda's today to finish up her back patio area, there weren't many weeds left to pull so it didn't take long. Then I sprayed all the weeds that were actually growing on the patio pavers with weed killer. I told her I'd come back in a few days & spray again once we see the spots that need it. She tried to pay me again for today & I said no, she had paid more than enough the other day.
Electrician showed up right on time yesterday morning & in just under an hour he had my new kitchen light up, 2 switches changed out & a switch changed to a wall plug for me. And only charged $136 for everything, service call was $90 which for around here is SUPER cheap! Only downside they charge 3-1/2% fee for using a credit card, so I wrote a check from my money market.
Tomorrow I'm going to work on updating my kitchen cabinets with by changing out the brushed nickel hardware to
black knobs & drawer pulls. Should be fun, plus I have to paint the hinges black because I'm not taking all those off & replacing them. I painted them brushed nickel 6 yrs ago & that held up fine so the black should be ok too.
And that's my book report on what I've been doing the last few days, Lol!
