Good evening, another crazy couple of busy days around here!
Pat, glad the orange chicken recipe came out to your liking, I love chinese food but never have very much luck making it at home, unless you count re-heating the leftovers.
Dave, I never in a million years would think of cutting doggie bones with bolt cutters! If they are that hard how in the world do the doggies eat them?
Kathie, you are turning into our resident A/V tech poster here, good work! Bummer about having to turn the furnace on again, I'm grumbling because it's really time to turn the air on here, but I'm resisting (for now)
Lee, sounds like a fun breakfast you have planned for tomorrow, I'm sure we can count on a group pic or 2, right?
Nancy, you sure can't catch a break with your hands swelling & hurting, that has got to be miserable!
Bill, you know the ole saying, ya win some & ya lose some. But losing not nearly as much fun as winning!
Got Jane's sun sail re-attached with no problems & while I was there I put a vinyl cover on the cushion of the rolling stool I had fixed for her. Turned out pretty cute, but I warned her she better be holding onto the counter or have it pushed against the wall anytime she goes to sit down. She already went plop on the floor trying to sit down in a moving chair!
Got the gutter fixed, I think! I didn't take it all the way apart, just up to the Z and then pounded on that with a hammer to knock all the stuff out of it that was clogging it, quite a bit of roofing stuff came out. Only downside, I should have used a rubber mallet now a regular hammer cause now I have a dent & possible a hole in the downspout elbow. I'm waiting on it to rain to see if it's cleared out enough & if it is going to leak. If it does leak I have a new elbow to replace it OR if it isn't leaking to bad I may patch it from the inside with some of the roof patch that we used on Barb's trailer.
Went to Miss Linda's today to finish up her back patio area, there weren't many weeds left to pull so it didn't take long. Then I sprayed all the weeds that were actually growing on the patio pavers with weed killer. I told her I'd come back in a few days & spray again once we see the spots that need it. She tried to pay me again for today & I said no, she had paid more than enough the other day.
Electrician showed up right on time yesterday morning & in just under an hour he had my new kitchen light up, 2 switches changed out & a switch changed to a wall plug for me. And only charged $136 for everything, service call was $90 which for around here is SUPER cheap! Only downside they charge 3-1/2% fee for using a credit card, so I wrote a check from my money market.
Tomorrow I'm going to work on updating my kitchen cabinets with by changing out the brushed nickel hardware to
black knobs & drawer pulls. Should be fun, plus I have to paint the hinges black because I'm not taking all those off & replacing them. I painted them brushed nickel 6 yrs ago & that held up fine so the black should be ok too.
And that's my book report on what I've been doing the last few days, Lol!
