Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning. Well yesterday we only got .06 inches or rain but supposed to get a bunch today with a possibility of hail.

The pinky on my right hand has the a bunch of fluid all around the middle joint with most being on the inside and it hurts, but I can sort of bend it. Today the swelling on all fingers is not a bad as yesterday but they still hurt. My left ankle has been hurting so much that yesterday I ordered a brace for it. I hope I get a referral soon for my feet.

All have a great day.

Good morning, everyone! Looks like today's weather is going to be a repeat of yesterday's weather - torrential rain and dime size hail bouncing all over the place. Today to make things interesting, they are throwing in the chance of a tornado!

Dave - You have got to watch Beetlejuice. It is just such a fun movie and is one of my favorites when I need a good laugh. I'm sure you can find it somewhere on TV.

I get to see my cardiologist this afternoon. I due hope he says I don't need this life vest any longer. It's annoying and the battery pack is very heavy hanging around my neck. Keep your fingers crossed, gang.

M&J got home right on time yesterday. The kids were thrilled to see them. Whenever any of us gets near a casino, the other person gives them a few buck to put in the slot machine for them. We gave Missy $20. She came home yesterday and handed us $100. which she won with our $20!!! She's very lucky. She also won about $460. for them on the slots. That gave them a bit of extra money to spend doing things in Vegas. I think I'm going to have Missy buy me lottery tickets from now on!!LOL

Nate was all upset coming home from school. All of the kids were given computers from the school at the beginning of the year. They can bring them home to extra practice in math and to play some games. Seems like too many kids conveniently "forget" to bring their computer to school when they need to take a test on it. The school has changed their policy now that computers can no longer come home. Nate uses his all the time at home and now he can't any longer. Now he's got to save his money to buy a computer for at home or convince his Uncle Gary to build one for him out of spare parts he has laying around.

Pork chops for dinner tonight. This is one of Bert's favorites. I'm making enough for 2 nights.

Bert just came out of the bedroom, so it's time for me to get off here for a while and see what all we'll have on tap for today aside from the doctor. Have a wonderful day, gang!

It has been a busy couple of days with pool therapy on Monday and a Royal Caribbean sponsored luncheon at a restaurant a bit of a distance from here on Tuesday and a session of PT in a few hours from now. Friday is my appointment with my ear doctor. Hopefully, on Saturday we can sleep in.
Yesterday started out with blue skies and puffy white clouds but the skies turned darker as the day went on and there was a bit of rain later in the day. Today is gray and tomorrow promises to be chilly and rainy. We get a break on Friday but the weekend and most of next week look to be wet and chilly. Hope that all this April rain brings lots of May flowers. The recent pictures of the flowers blooming in California after the deluges that they have suffered is a hopeful sign that good sometimes comes out of the bad.
Was pleasantly surprised to see that our state tax refund has already been processed and deposited in our bank account. Took less than 10 days from the time our return was filed. Unbelievably efficient for our state government. Not a big refund but it is nice to have it in the bank.
Celtics blew a decent lead last night and ended up losing game five by one point, so they have to return to Atlanta for what I hope is the final game of the series. The Bruins can wrap up their series with the Panthers tonight if they win at the Garden tonight.

Good afternoon!

Pat, good luck with the Cardiologist appt., hope you get sprung from the "straight jacket"! That's a nice little return on a $20 investment, for sure let Missy buy the lotto tickets.

Dave, it makes it more fun to toss something in the cart that wasn't on the list so I say go for it! We all need a little fun in our life!

Kathie, how is the wrist feeling today? Better I hope!

Bill, a quick refund from any government agency is always a pleasant surprise!

Lee, sending good thoughts for you today!

Busy day around here today, Wendy called me early this morning, I had called her yesterday & left a message so she was returning my call. Yesterday would have been Dad's 94th birthday & it would have also been Ed & Lisa's 43rd wedding anniversary. After talking to her I headed out to BJ's to get gas & pick up some unsweetened Seltzer water for Jane which of course included delivery. By the time I got home it was lunch time. Then off to deliver a couple pieces of my applesauce cake to some of my elderly ladies here.
Tonight is our quarterly HOA meeting & should be interesting. Our resident who got told No to extending his fence put letter's in everyone's door last week detailing his complaint with the board & asking them to come to the meeting & give their input. A few of the other residents have commented to me that they agree with the boards decision, so it may not go quite as he expects, but you can never tell
Tomorrow I will be up & out early to help one of the other neighbor ladies clean up her back patio area. She had asked me about doing it before but at that time it was still pretty hot so I told her I'd do it when it was cooler. I asked her at the dinner last night if she still needed help & she said yes. Hopefully it won't be to much of an overgrown mess & I can get it done in 1 morning.

Hey gang.
A busy bunch but that will keep you all out of trouble.
A trip to COSTCO was in the cards for today. When did the prices go up as much as they seem to? It’s enough to drive a guy to drink. If you can afford the gas to get there and back and the cost of said drinks!
Not sure what’s on tap for tomorrow. Friday we head to University Hospital in London for Lu-Ann’s nine month follow up with her movement disorder specialist.Yep, a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for, if she’s lucky, 20 minutes with Dr. Jog. There are MDS’s a half hour over the border but our health insurance won’t cover a visit.
You all be good.

Made it through the board meeting in one piece. Our disgruntled homeowner gave his speech about how he was denied his improvement & not given any reason. He had a picture board & everything but he pretty much got shut down by the rest of the homeowners who said they didn't like his "improvement" and were glad the board denied him. Not sure this will be the end of his complaining or not we shall see.

Good evening. Well late this afternoon we had a storm, the wind was very bad so much the rain was going sideways, it did not last much over 30 minutes but we got .91 inches. And we have a chance of more tonight.

Karen, I would say he will try again.

All have a good night.

Karen posted: Kathie, how is the wrist feeling today? Better I hope!
Karen..... I just have scared the pain away when I told my wrist it was going to get a VICKS OVERNIGHT wrap if it didn't stop bugging me. Must have been a quirky thing that decided it didn't want to stick around.
Karen nice of you to help the lady out with her back patio. Hope it's not a huge mess.
And THANK YOU for getting back to us so fast regarding the JERK that wants to expand his lot line to a area that IS NOT HIS. Good for the members agreeing with the board. By the way nice of the JERK to get all the homeowners to show up to the meeting. Ha Ha. This JERK must be a TRUMPSTER and DESANTIS lover.

Nancy: Have you tried soaking your hands and your ankle in Epsom Salt water? Might take the swelling down. There's always VICKS! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: ;)

Negc: Hopefully you're winding down on all the doctors catch-up visits. Good thing all of us were ONCE HEALTHY while we worked or we would have never been able to keep our employment going to doctors and
therapy etc, etc. Getting old SUCKS.

BILL, I must say that everytime I SEE YOUR BIG round circle letter "B" when you post I think it's PAT POSTING. At least it's not the same color, but it's close. Ha Ha

BB: Hope you got RID of the HARNESS today.

Lee: Don't you wish the doctors could do a VIDEO EXAM and save you all that driving back and forth. I'm wondering if they do any actual physical tests during the appt that warrant a in person visit.
It's as bad as Mark having to FLY across the country for a meeting in Portland, OR every so often. It's like the CEO's want to make sure he's still actually alive! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme::eek:

DAVE: Eric came over this afternoon around 3:45 pm with his MOM and MANNY. It was a so nice to have MANNY running around our yard and then sniffing everywhere in our house. He's easy to really like a lot. About 10 mins into the visit ERIC makes a ............

Listen Up Announcement GIF by Rivermark Community Credit Union
He tells us to open the garage door and LOW and BEHOLD the young man LEASED HIMSELF a 2023 brand new SILVERADO WHITE TRUCK. WOW! He was SO PROUD to be able to show his POPS and myself his new RIDE! You know you're getting old when your grandkids are buying big ticket items like that. His UNCLE, (Mark's brother) got him a PIN number for Friends and Family discount and it was some kin of TRUCK month at the Chevrolet dealers. All that was on the lot were TRUCKS. We're happy for him.
I asked him what he's doing with the Escape that Art gave to Ashley and then she passed it down to him and he said he's got a person that is interested in it.
I told Art that he should get the money for that sale since he GAVE the car to the kids in the first place.
And Art's reply to me was "It was GIFTED to them and you don't ask for a GIFT BACK once you gave it to them". YUP, that's a good answer.

Out of here for now. Have a good evening all.

Good Thursday morning!

"Life Vest" free now, BB?

Kathi took your advice KC about just going for it and tossed something not on the grocery list into the grocery cart. Lime flavored sugar waffer cookies. Sure sounds like that neighbor of yours who was turned down on his "improvement" isn't used to being told NO.

It seems that with all the warming going on, pollen-season is now 20 days longer than it used to be. Sucks to have allergies.

You're tougher than I am Lee, driving 2 1/2 hours to a doctor's appointment. I'm irritated if it takes me 45 minutes.

Ya know K2; I wouldn't be surprised if you said to put Vicks in our hair.

DAVE: I just hope you TOSS in a jar of VICKS on your next Grocery Run! Ya never know when you might need to have it handy! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee: So, did you have a Headache and you ran out of Aspirin and you went for the VICKS cure instead! You are soooo funny that early in the morning.
Another COLD MORNING for a walk with AVA. Does she mind the cold?
Art said it was suppose to get a TAD warmer as the day progressed. He of course is all bundled up properly and WENT BIKING. That group BIKES for their half-time COFFEE BREAK at one of the Independent Coffee Roaster places. (not Starbucks) The coffee and Latte's are so much better than Starbucks. They research where they buy their coffee from. Went to a seminar once and it's amazing how we all BREW COFFEE so totally wrong.

Hope you all have a good Thursday!
Can't wait to come back and read all your posts.
I basically have NOTHING for you right now.

Off to pay our CAR INSURANCE BILL! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme::eek:

Good morning, back from round 1 of Miss Linda's back yard. It's not horrible but there are a lot of weeds to pull & it got hot & humid quick. I would have probably kept going (and regretted it later) but she was out helping me & I didn't want her to get sick.
Going back Tues. morning to try to finish the rest, she paid me $25 this morning, way more than I would have taken but she had it as $1's & $5's so I couldn't tell how much was there.

kathie, how cool that Eric has a new truck, now we need pic's, and what happened to the pic's of the bedroom paint job?

Dave, those cookies Kathi picked up sound pretty good! Did you get to sample them or was it another mystery disappearing bag?

Nancy, I think you are probably right about the guy not giving up

Pat, are you still celebrating your release from the jacket? Time for an update!

Lee, safe travels to LuAnn's appointment, hoping she get's a good report!

We had a heck of a storm here last night, lot's of lightning & thunder, poor Ginger does not like storms at all. We were under a severe thunderstorm warning till around 10, I kept the kittys in the bedroom with me just in case.

Time to fix some coffee & think about breakfast, have a great day all!

The steam from the shower to get the Vicks out of my hair was great to inhale. Not only does my hair smell nice (different) but it cleared my lungs out too. It's kind of like wearing a hat made out of mothballs.
Ava is funny Kathie. She goes out in the yard in the morning and decides if she's going back to bed or we are going for a walk. She's not a fan of cold or real heat. For a former street dog she is indeed a funny little critter. So, when Eric unveiled his new GM product did Art ask "Why not a Ford?" I would have. We have a neat spot in Windsor called Anchor Coffee. They are an independent roaster, coffee shop and have a little bakery. Lu-Ann says they make the BEST London Fog tea.
I'm looking at the time and the temperature hear Karen and find it a distant memory that FL can get so hot and humid so early in the day. Bless you young lady for serving on that HOA and for taking care of so many of the folks in your complex.
Lime flavoured Sugar Waffle Cookies Dave? Not sure how they may taste? Discerning palate that I have. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Sadly Dave, Dr. Jog is the closest neurologist specializing in movement disorders like Parkinson's. It is what it is.
Hopefully by the time you read this Pat you will be vestless. I know how uncomfortable the Holter Monitor is when I have to wear it for a few days every year. Never mind a "flak jacket" for weeks!
How's your physio going Bill? Medicine can never seem to decide if keeping things moving is beneficial or not when it comes to keeping old "Arthur Itis" at bay!
Did the wind or rain damage any of your plants Nancy?
Well, I best get my lazy butt down to the treadmill. Then a trip to the gas station is in order so I have a full tank of fuel for tomorrow morning. We plan to be on the road by 8:00 because we KNOW that there will be a rest stop or two along the way.

Good morning!

I'll start right off by answering the burning question of the day - NO!!!! I didn't get the d*mn vest off due to the scheduler making a mistake. She told me the appointment was for Wednesday, but seems to have put it down as a Tuesday appointment. That would never have happened being we had the kids. So I raised holy he!! (I admit I went Jersey!), the poor man doing patient check ins managed to get the scheduler on the phone to get me in asap. By the time we got home, there was a message on the answering machine that I have an appointment tomorrow at 11:45. While greatly disappointed, I'll bite my tongue and survive another day wearing the vest.

Lee - That sure is a long ride for that doctor's appointment, but you've got to do what's necessary, right? Are you going to pack a lunch for the trip? You might need something for how long the round trip is going to take.

Dave - So have you tried out those cookies yet? Never had a lime flavored cookie and would think it's similar to a lemon flavored one. Am I right?

Kathie - Good for Eric getting a brand new truck. Those things are expensive these days. Back in the day, a pickup truck was so cheap and the insurance cost next to nothing. Boy, have times changed!

Karen - Sounds like your potluck dinner was a big success. Glad most people were in agreement about that guy not getting the fence the way he wanted it. That is so nice of you to be helping another neighbor weed their garden.

I really think I am allergic to Daisy! Even though she has gone home, there is still dog hair all over the place. I am coughing and sneezing. Even last night in bed. So I did the logical thing - I broke out the Vicks and put some on my chest. It really helped, as usual. Now we just have to get the rest of the dog hair out of here.

Jimmy is in surgery right now. He is having gastric bypass surgery. Poor guy. He loves to eat, but he has to drop about 100 lbs. due to a heart condition. I sure hope this surgery works for him. Then he'll be on an even more restrictive diet than I am. We'll have to compare notes! LOL

Time to read the newspaper and see what's on sale this week at Publix that I can eat. That will be my challenge for the day.

Hi again Wrabbits.

Karen:
Still have to decide if I'm putting all the framed pictures back on the shelves of the corner wall unit. Pictures of the grandkids when they were little and some others. A lot of clutter and a pain to dust them and around them.
I'll get Eric to send me a picture. I should have ran in and got my phone and taken one, but we all listening to Eric explain all about the truck. Have to laugh it's THE MOST SPECIAL THING in his life right now and so funny to watch him walk around it. To us older folks it's a
White Truck!
Glad you stopped and went home. Not worth getting sun-stroke over pulling weeds. Do you find it easier cleaning up other peoples weeds , etc, etc than your own. I always feel that way when I'm helping Jill around her garden. Strange.

PAT: Don't forget to put the "BRA" back on if you do get that Harness off. Ha Ha.
200.gif

It's only gotten up to 48F since the earlier 42F. Brrrr. But SUNNY now.

Time to warm up my coffee.

LEE: Does AVA go with you on the long drive tomorrow or do you get to have one of your friends check in on her?

Eric's Uncle (Mark's brother) had a PIN for him and the deals GM were giving were much better than Ford's. So that's why a Chevy! Art told him it was fine, because his GREAT Grandfather worked at GM and he had a Chevy Truck! All is good.

HI BB: Just saw you posted as I closed down. Bummer on the wrong date. I always get a CARD with the date they write on it and bring it with me to show them if they question if it's the wrong day. It's 5 O'Clock some where.... have a glass of Wine out on the Lanai.

Just finished reading your post BB: OUCH on that surgery Jimmy is going through. Both on his body and pocketbook! He has to be very DILLIGENT with how much and how he eats or it won't work. I have a friend whose daughter had it done and she looked like a MILLION BUCKS after she lost the weight. Only to put all back on again. So sad to see her now.

A late good morning. I slept fitfully last night as both of my upper arms are hurting and last night was bad, not too bad this morning.

K2, agree that guy has to be a trumper and love desantis. No I never capitalize those names. I have found that for me Vicks only works if I have a bad cold.

Lee, I have not really checked but from what I have seen all the plants are fine from the wind and rain.

Supposedly the rain is pretty much over, will see.

All have a great day.

Mudville isn't the only joyless town after the Bruins lost last night's playoff game in overtime. Now both Boston teams have to return to their opponents arenas to try to wrap up their series and move on to the next series.
When we moved to our new home a lot of the "stuff" got stored in our garage and we still need to find the time and energy to go through it. Clearly there is nothing essential out there but old photos, framed documents and other miscellanea
are in boxes. Today, I did open one of them looking for some old pictures of my mother's family, and among the papers that I came across was a 2005 list of names and addresses of bunnies, past and present, including their birthdays. Lord only knows what other treasures can be found in those boxes.
I enjoy an occasional vanilla sugar wafer, Dave, but I'm not sure a lime flavored one would make it to my shopping list.
PT seems to be going well so far though I have only had one pool visit and one session of actual PT (yesterday) so far. I do have a number of exercises to do at home between sessions so we will see how well that works. My next pool session is on Monday and the next PT session is Wednesday.
Took me a minute to recall that there is a London in Ontario when you mentioned the multi-hour drive, Lee. Didn't think that there was yet a bridge between Canada and the UK.

Caught me speed reading Lee, I was thinking LuAnn's appointment was today....being "old" I could always claim I thought today was Friday... :emoticon 0100 smile:

All of our Dr.s either call or text at least a day before any appts. I am surprised that they don't do that.
