Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Funny you mention shingles Karen. With that an ad for shingles vaccines pops up! And they say “Big Brother” isn’t watching or listening. And of course, I have a song for you. Once the job is done of course.

I always liked that tune written by Carol King back in 1962!
Bill, thank Momma Bunny for setting things up for Sunday.
As for time Pat, Lu-Ann and I do prefer earlier. Let us know.
A big old pub burger and a beer Kathie? Way to go!
How’d that massage work out Nancy?
We met our friends from Kitchener at DeSantis Springs for lunch. Enjoyed nice fish and chips at Cookes of Dublin.
Tomorrow…Wednesday I think.
Have a good evening and night everyone.

Tonite was the community dinner at the clubhouse, 36 residents & guests attended, a very nice crowd for a change!

Roof is all finished, they did a great job on cleaning everything up but I was NOT a happy camper when I noticed there were several bundles of shingles leftover & one of the guys picked one up & tossed it into the dumpster trailer! I marched out there and told him NOT to throw any more of them away, I paid for them & I intended to keep them! His buddies & him looked pretty surprised but they didn't throw any more away. I'm quite sure they were not planning to take the cost of those 5 bundles off my bill.
Now I'm ready to relax & just unwind from a wild & crazy day!

Lee, thanks for the song, it's one I've always liked too!

Had first therapy for my neck and got 3 exercises, she did some manipulation and will say the neck hurts. No massage but did get stretched. They are closed for a week so I don't go back until Mar 10th. Sure hope this helps.

Right now the neck is really hurting and the headache is bad so I am going to bed.

All have a good night.

Karen: How many EXTRA plywood boards did they manage to drag up on the roof?
Glad they were able to finish in one day. Just glad they actually showed up. Amazing for Florida. :D

Nite folks.

Kathie, I'm not sure just how many extra sheets of plywood they used, it looked like maybe 6 or more. I will find out when they call me with the final bill.

Good, good, good, Another gathering of Bunnies has been set up. I just hope that BB puts down her plastic sheets on her floors to collect all those little pellets that rabbits leave behind.

In and out in one day for the roofers. Fantastic, KC. And smart thinking keeping all the leftover shingles. Ya never know if somewhere down the road you might need them for a patch job.

Perfect song, Lee. You're going to have to go on a diet once you get home after all you consumed in Florida.

Yes K2, we did get some high winds on Monday. Only about 40 MPH, so it wasn't that bad. Can you imagine the price of that big motor home that fell into the river in California?

Of all the things I've seen in this life, I've never seen the Northern-Lights. They had an interesting story on the news last night. A commercial plane flying to England came upon these lights, which made it a once in a life-time viewing.......on one side of the plane. But after a bit, he turned the plane around so the passengers on the other side of the plane got to have a good look too. Nice guy.

No Lee, he passed up on the idea of just inverting the plane. Although that would have made a once in a lifetime memory too.

Good morning. Another month. I looked this morning at my list of PT appts and I am booked thru April 14th. Don't know if I will be using all of them, at least it is only twice a week, but that gets expensive, as I pay $35 a visit. My next appt is not until the 10th as the place is finishing up a remodel so is closed until the 9th.

I will be fixing a mac salad today, been wanting one for awhile now, and they are easy.

All have a great day.

Good morning! Looks like we're in for another hot one here in the deep south. We will be expecting payment from all snowbirds as they are leaving this year. We sure took extra special care of you all in the weather department!! ;)

Lee - You said you prefer eating earlier. Please define earlier, as we might not be thinking the same time. Just give me a time and we'll be good.
Loved your choice of song this morning. Definitely one of our favorites during our teen years. I just knew you couldn't stay away from DeSantis Springs for very long!

Karen - Glad your roofing job is complete. Good call keeping the extra shingles. You never know when they might come in handy.

Kathie - So where and what did you have for dinner last night after all your hard work? Did you get your greasy burger?

Dave - Cool story about what that pilot did so that everyone on the place could see the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, I too have never seen them and don't expect I ever will.

So here's the news from our neighborhood - The house next door is for sale! That would be the spool house I'm talking about. So how would you like to be my next door neighbor? It would only cost you $745,000!!!! But I'm well worth it. LOL It really is a gorgeous house with many many extras, many of which I wish I had in this house.
As the Grille Turns is activating again. There are lots of complaints about them running out of food, lack of help and the place needing a good cleaning/ Stay tuned as this story continues.

Time now for a cup of coffee and to decide what, if anything, we're doing around here today. Have a good one, everyone!

Good afternoon. Or it will be by the time I’m done here.
We were up early and decided breakfast at The Poly would be a good idea. It was. We were in quicker without reservations than we have ever been with a reservation.
I‘m glad your roof is all done Karen. Do you need to get gutters or is that a northern thing? Some houses here have them and some don’t.
Is 5:30 - 6:00 too early Pat? We’re good with a little earlier if that works for all of you. I guess it‘s a holdover from our working days. Just like getting up when I do. Hey, thanks for another beautiful Pure Florida day. $745K? If that was CDN dollars we’d love you and Bert as neighbours!
Are you preparing for The Grille to shut down. Again…
Yes Nancy, we were looking ahead to our medical schedules. We’re not even home a week and the appointments start. Crap we were so far removed from while visiting FL.
My biggest fear Dave is trying to maintain the activity level I’ve had here once we’re home. I don’t see over 7 outdoor walking miles everyday like I’ve averaged here. I’m already shivering looking at the long range forecast. You know me too well as my thought was he should have done 1/2 a barrel roll for the pax on the other side of the aircraft.
Did you get your burger and beer Kathie? I got a tune just for you…

Hi to Bill and Rita! See you Sunday.
Off to the vet for some food for Ava.
Be good everyone.

I've only seen the Northern Lights, once- when I was in high school and saw them as I was coming home one evening. Not sure I even knew what they were at first. We hoped to see them the times we were in Iceland and even took a nighttime excursion out in the boondocks several miles from Reykjavik but to no avail. The folks on last year's cruise to Greenland were treated to a viewing so we are hopeful we will have the same luck this September.
Not sure what I thought of The Blacklist episode the other night, BB. Reddington was in so little of the story that it seemed to be missing something and I still can't accept Dembe as an FBI agent and miss some of the other regulars. That opening scene with
Aram seemed to be little more than a token mention of another one of the members of the Task Force. I am hopeful that the next few episodes can recapture whatever it was that originally made the show so interesting, but I fear that it really has "jumped the shark".
Have to drop off a prescription at Walgreen's. It took them a week last month to refill it so I hope that experience won't be repeated this month. Don't think I will need any other prescriptions refilled before we are back home and dealing with our more reliable pharmacist.
Another scorcher today but the AC works great and it is certainly better than what folks back home are experiencing.
Glad the roofers completed the job so quickly, KC.

Sadly Bill, we felt Blacklist “jumped a number of sharks” a few seasons back.
Ah, but do we know where “jump the shark” originated?

I know where that expression "jumped the shark" came from - Fonzie on Happy Days!

Lee - 5:30 would be perfect for dinner. That way we will beat the Sunday night dinner crowd.

Have a super evening. We're heading for the lanai ... We're 24 minutes late for Happy Hour!!o_O

Sunny day and 55F.
Our Peek hours Electricity will be higher from 3:00 pm - 7 pm. Starting today! So if you want to run your furnace it will cost you more. Summer A/C will be the killer. We keep the heat lower than some folks and can easily turn it down during those PEEK times. Always something.

BB: I did get a meal out. A Corona and a Cheeseburger. It wasn’t greasy enough. Ha ha. I ate some fries, but I’m not a big fry gal.
Lee: Amazing how you find these songs. It was another good one! Thanks.

Dave: We went out to the farmlands years ago where it is darker without a lot of CITY Lights and saw some kind of Norther lights. The weather folks told us where and when to see them. Never did it again, because you have to go after 11:00 pm. Too old for that now.

Karen: So how do the SKY LITES look after the roof job? Do you think they cleaned them? I bet NOT! Ha ha.

Out of here for now. Tome to make us dinner! THAT JOB NEVER ENDS!

We’re on the calendar Pat. Perfect. Thank you. Right you are about The Fonz.
Kathie, I don’t find the songs. They find me. ;)
I think we’re headed out for a couple of walks. One for us and one with Ava.
See you kids in the morning.

Kathie, the skylights are brand new, double pane insulated & boy are they nice!! I was planning on having a solar tube installed in the great room area for more light, but with the new skylights I really don't think I need it now.

They came this afternoon & picked up the trash trailer out of my drive. It was one of the foremen who picked it up & I saw him loading the shingles I had set aside. I went out to ask him if I was going to be refunded for the shingles the didn't use, he said No, they always order extra for just in case. So I told him I'd like to have at least one bundle for back up since they were just going to throw them away. He said they don't throw them away, so I told him check your dump trailer, I watched the guy toss a bundle in there yesterday. He did end up leaving me 1 bundle which is really all I need anyway.
All in all they did do a good job & I would feel comfortable recommending them to anyone who needed a new roof. Should get the final bill in about a week he said, I may change my opinion once I get that, just kidding, it needed to be done & now it is

Good evening. We went to home Depot so Bruce could get some concrete paint and then to BJ's so he could get new glasses. Well for $467 he is getting two pair, one sunglasses and the other regular with transition lenses, so that is a great price.

All have a good night.

I reckon somebody on that roofing crew is going to get a stern talkin’ to about throwing away a bundle of shingles if that is not their policy Karen.

Good Thursday morning, Rabbits!

Just knowing who Fonzie is dates you, BB. And what's the reason your next door neighbors are selling their house? Oh goody, another season of "As The Grill Turns".

You shouldn't worry too much Lee about getting enough exercise when you get home. Just the weight of all the extra clothing you'll be wearing counts as an increase in your aerobics.

Bill; Trying to see the Northern Lights is like hunting Sasquatch.

Don't you owe me an E-mail, K2? Hint, Hint.

Brand new skylights. How cool, KC. And yes, we want to know if you have gutters on your roof. And I'll have to put this down on my calendar; A Floridian happy with a contractor and his work who even shows up when he's suppose to.

It got up into the upper 60's here yesterday. And we heard a strange but familiar sound. One of the older residents in the neighborhood fired up his riding mower. The first of the year award goes to some guy who really must have been bored.

59F here on my morning walk with Ava. 34F at home. Yep, pile on those extra clothes once we’re home Dave.
Not much new since last evening so I’ll check in later. Meeting friends from Kitchener again today for a coffee mid day. That’s all that’s “planned” for now. But we all know how that changes.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, cleaning day here now that all the dust has settled from the new roof being put on. It's amazing how much popcorn & plaster dust got knocked off the ceiling from all the pounding & hammering that went on

Dave & Lee, yes my house has gutters which had to be partly removed to install the new drip edge for the roof. There were a few spots before that the nails had worked loose & the gutter was not firmly attached anymore. When the roofers reattached them they used long screws instead of nails & now everything is nice & snug. Eventually the gutters do need to be replaced but for now they do the job.

Pat, wasn't the Spool house up for sale before or was that another neighbor? I can't believe the price of houses now days, it's just crazy.

Kathie, glad you were able to get your burger & beer the other night. Not a fan of fries???? That's almost unamerican, Lol. I'm picky about my fries though, if they aren't hot & crispy I'm not interested.

I had made a cream cheese/corn casserole for the dinner the other night & have so much of it left over I am going to turn it into potato corn chowder with ham. Not exactly a warm weather meal but I didn't want it to go to waste, not sure how well it would do in the freezer with all the cream cheese in it.
Guess I should get busy, this house isn't going to clean it's self, later gang!
