Hope you all have a FANTASTIC DAY.

I'm like DAVE.......not much to chat about right now.

It's "Gloomy" here in my neck of the woods, and the weatherman says we're supposed to get
RAIN - SNOW mix soon!
1677504721146.png YUP, sure looks like it! JOY, JOY!
Karen:
Hope that you can get Scooter's shot and you have some LOOSE CHANGE leftover from all these Vet visits. Not easy being a pet owner. I remember those days when we had our pup! All the best to Scooter.
Lee: You're too kind to think I'm without need of "Forgiveness"! Thanks though. Nice to know that Ava will have a visit from Latte today. Hope they get along.
Have you two ever gotten into that swimming pool this year? If not you might be able to save money on renting a place without one next year! Or have you already secured this house with the owners? Has the heater been on ALL THIS TIME? I just had to ask. All I can think of is $$$$$$ big bucks not being used.

Starting soon here in our area we will be paying a HIGHER ELECTRIC RATE from
3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. I know it's mostly for Air Conditioning use, but I told ART I'm going to be doing my best to beat the system. I have to figure out how to program our thermostat to shut off the AIR for those hours. We'll see how long it takes before I knock that off! Ha Ha.

BB: Hope your leg is still giving you relief. So nice to know the procedure worked. And I hope you're still behaving as far as cooking goes. How are Gary & Elaine doing lately? They don't seem to come around very often like they used to. Everything okay over there?

Later gang. I smell fresh brewed coffee and I'm overdue for a cup. I actually slept in until 7:30 A.M. Felt good.

DAVE: Almost forgot to ask..... how's your LEG DOING TODAY?

Home again, was a quick in & out visit for Scooter & now she is snoozing on the back porch so I think she is finally starting to feel much better!
Stopped at the bank to make a deposit & then dropped Scooter at the house. Had to go back to Walmart near Jane's house as I had left behind a bag of canned cat food yesterday when I got groceries. Luckily the cashier turned it into the service desk & didn't accidently give it to the next customer.

Now I'm trying to get quotes for house insurance, mine expires in early April & I would like to find something not quite so expensive, plus I'm not thrilled with State Farm. I called 3 weeks ago to see what changes I could make to the policy to lower the premium and the lady I talked to got it down about $300, not great but better than nothing. I told her to go ahead & process the changes & she said she would, so far nothing at all has been changed. Called 2 other places last week & haven't heard back from them either. It's definitely a "sellers" market for insurance.
And sometime between 6-8 am tomorrow morning the roofers will be here to start the roof, how fun!

We had State Farm as both home and auto and in about 2006 we got the we are not renewing your homeowners, along with anyone else in our neighborhood and all along our county. Because of the age of our home we had to go to Citizens. So when the auto insurance was about due we canceled them, they did not want our home so we did not want their auto.

Karen: Good to know Scooter has calmed down and resting.

The CATS are NOT going to like this noise!
Good luck with the dust on your Patio and plants! :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
I tried getting our house insurance down lower and all I got was "You're at the LOWEST RATE we have"! Yeah right. I need to do so shopping around before my next statement comes out.
I feel for you folks in Florida with all the damage that happened with that latest hurricane. Almost scary just even thinking about asking for a lower rate. Folks on Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island have been posting online about how much their insurance has jumped. The downside of living right by the Gulf!

Made up my last 2 batches of dough early this morning. Almost time to start rolling and filling these buggers. Can't wait until this project is done.
I had to do it early and freeze them because I don't know exactly when my eye surgery will happen. It will be close to Orthodox Easter. I want this done way in advance.

Hope you're all having a good MONDAY!

Forgot to mention I spent at least 1/2 hour trying to open my Costco-Visa account to see if a payment got posted to a Doctors Office. Made the payment using their AUTO-PHONE payment method. Well, I won't do that again. It will be a REAL PERSON or I'll send them a check as a last resort.

Ended up having to call Citi-Bank Costco to get help. The nice man walked me through and I changed my password, etc, etc and finally got on.
I typed out a new CHEAT SHEET with all the info for future reference. The old sheet was a mess. I use a different password for every online account I have. Must have 200 in my cheat booklet! Doctors, credit cards, dept stores, Costco visa, Amazon, you name it I have it in the booklet. Works for me.

FINALLY getting a chance to get on here today. We were out early to go to Sam's and BJ's. For once we breezed through both places and then came home in time for lunch.

Our community is about to vote on a resident board of directors and I have put in hours over the past few days reading resumes, seeing how long they've lived here. One guy just moved here last month and wants to be on the board of directors already. I don't think so. Bert has left it up to me to do the research on these people. I think I finally have it trimmed down to the 5 we will caste our vote for.

Karen - Glad you were able to get Scooter in to her regular vet and that she is feeling better. That's a good sign if she's sleeping peacefully.

Dave - You sure were a man of few words today!

Kathie - I bet you'll be glad when the nut rolls are finally finished, but just think of all the money they will raise.
Time now to start saving your pennies to come to Florida next year.

Lee - Wow, less than 2 weeks to go before heading home. How time flies when you're having fun. Seeing as Bill and Rita & Bert and I have completely open schedules these next 2 weeks, how about you, our social butterfly, tell us when you will be available for dinner at Di Carlos. I'm sure B&R will come up for a day or 2 so that we can get together. Let's make it happen before you have to leave.
By the way, from now on it is DeSantis World and DeSantis Springs!! He took over Reedy Creek officially today and will be running the show there from now on. All I can think of is in the movie Shrek when they go to Farquaad World and the song they sing about kissing his ___. I think that's going to be the new theme song at DeSantis World being run by that petty dictator!! You can tell I'm pi$$ed!!!

Just looked at the clock. How time flies when you're having fun. It's just about Happy Hour and it will be very welcome today.

Have a super evening, everyone!

Night from Belleview! Roofers are coming between 6 & 8 in the morning so I need to be up & dressed early. Have a feeling it's going to be a loooong day!

Happy to hear that Scooter is feeling better, KC. Sorry that the antibiotic messed with her gut. Antibiotics tend to mess with humans' guts too, when they kill off the good bacteria along with the bad. Betcha Scooter isn't going to like all the new faces and noises of the roofers today.

I hadn't realized how close you are in time to going home, Lee. Like others, it seems to me like you just got there. Pretty soon you'll be telling each other, "We better eat that up, or we're going to have to toss it out."

Refresh my memory K2.; What's this eye surgery all about? Hope you never lose your cheat-sheet of passwords. I can't remember 1/4 of mine without my cheat-sheet. Today is my last day on the antibiotic to hopefully make the boo-boo on my leg heal up faster.

You can keep that Governor of yours, BB. He's like a baby dictator, jumping up and down throwing fits every other day. He's sure got a talent for screwing up the state and pissing people off.

Found a new documentary on the "History Channel" that I'm hooked on. I've got the DVR set to record any episode I haven't seen. The multi segment documentary is called, "The food that built America." Usually found on Sunday nights. It really should be called FOODS....

Each episode shows one or 2 well known companies and goes into their history and who started them. How when they started the times were, who their competitors were that they competed with. And how everything from government, to what technology of the time, to pure luck effected their growth.

One example was the Hershey Chocolate Company. At the time, milk chocolate was only enjoyed by the rich and royalty of Europe. But Mister Hershey decided to develop a milk chocolate and make it here. And this guy was so sure that he could do it, he built the factory and places for the employees to live BEFORE he even had made a formula for his milk chocolate.

Pepsi and Coke wars. Even espionage in the food business. It's a cool show.

6:35 am, got a little army of roofers with their shovels taking off the old roof & guys on the ground spreading plastic to catch debris. Going to be a long noisy day I think

Good morning.
WOW Karen, your neighbours are going to be looking out their windows wondering what all that racket is! Speaking of neighbours, are “The Boys” still in the community?
We’ve seen a couple of episodes of that show Dave. I think there’s a bunch of season. Sure was interesting as I recall.
A lot of reading to catch up on since yesterday. We have a couple of things on tap today but I wanted to pop by and say “Hi”.
Behave.

major question for Lee - So when are you and Lu-Ann free for dinner before you head north? I have to set things up with Rita and Bill and need to know as soon as possible.

I'll be back later ...

Good morning this last day of February. Only thing I have for today is going to therapy this afternoon. I know the neck sure can use at least a nice message.

All have a great day.

Sure saw a lot of pieces of plywood going up on the roof, that's not a good sign at $80 a sheet, oh well, as Kathie reminds us we can't take it with us & for now my house will be nice & snug. They have the 3 old skylights out & boy is there ever a lot more light coming in now! Those old ones must have been really dirty & possibly cloudy. I won't be getting up on the roof to clean the new ones either so I'll enjoy the extra light while it lasts, lol

GOOD LUCK TODAY WITH THE NOISE! Good day to go grocery shopping!

DAVE: Thanks for the heads up on the Food series. Might have to try and catch that one.

I'll send you a e-mail about the eye surgery. Don't want to bore everyone with that one.
Still waiting to do one of those Field Tests where you click a button every time you see a tiny, tiny flash of a light. It's supposed to be different than the one I had done at the Eye Doctors office in Dec.

Karen: I see you popped on. So tell us about these Skylights. Are they replacing them or just going to wash the current ones and put them back in? We use to have a Skylight in our 1st home. Always worried about it leaking, but it never did while we lived there.
Karen, it's good that the roofers are putting up new plywood where needed. Would hate to see you have to have them come back in a few years and rip up the roof for a leak. That could cause all kinds of structural damage. You could end up with a LOT MORE LIGHT COMING THROUGH a fallen roof inside! Heaven forbid.

It's GLOOMY HERE today, but at least the RAIN and SLEET stopped late last night. Just wet and ugly. 35F. So wet that ARTIE DID NOT go biking today. You have to know it was wet if he stayed home. Ha Ha.

Okay.... out of here. You all have a good day and come back and let us know how it went. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

KC, I was a bit shocked when you mentioned the early hours that the roofers were expected to show up, but when I considered the predicted temperatures Florida will be experiencing over the next several days, it makes sense that they should start as early as possible.
Had to get a new tip for my cane and the replacement that I bought at CVS was not the right size, so I went to a local medical supply store yesterday and they replaced all four tips and the cost was less than I paid for the single, wrong-size, tip.
BB, what is frightening to this out of state visitor to your otherwise, lovely state, is the degree of "worship" that your Governor gets from his supporters. Similar to the blind support that Trump still
receives. Saw a car with a Florida license plate recently that had a sticker which read "Florida- beer, guns, freedom". It never ceases to amaze me to pass a strip mall which is filled with shops where you can buy a gun, get a tattoo, a massage, buy booze, and consult with a personal injury lawyer who will get you a million dollar settlement, all with one stop.
Sorry that you and LuAnn are leaving so soon. I thought that our stay was passing all too quickly but at least we still have another month before we have to face reality and return to less than favorable weather. Glad that we will get a chance to see you before you leave.

Good afternoon!

Hot d*mn! We have a gathering planned for next Sunday!!!

Karen - That sure was an early start to your roofing job this morning. They could not do that around here, as there's a noise ordinance about no noise before 8AM. I bet it's going to look great once the job is done.

Kathie - Sorry to hear it's so gloomy up your way today. I'll just say one thing about our weather today - 81 degrees! Nuff said? I hope your weather gets better soon.

Dave - I'll have to look for that TV series. We enjoyed watching the one on the history of toys. I guess this one you are talking about is similar, right?

Bill - I forgot to ask what you thought of the new Black List the other night? Looks like they're going to make the last season interesting from what I saw the other night.

Lee - Sunday works perfectly and B&R are already on board, so now all we have to decide is what time we want to do dinner.

Not much going on around here today. Bert wants to take a run to the store to buy a new belt before he ends up with his pants around his ankles!

If I get a chance, I'll be back later to check up on what everyone's doing. In the meantime, have a great afternoon.

LOVE ALL the good news CHATTER on here. A "mini" reunion of the extended family. How nice! Karen how far is it TIME WISE if you wanted to meet up with these Hooligans'? If they did a early lunch you might be able to do it in one day. Easy for me to say since I wouldn't be doing all that driving!
WAIT.... you could do a ZOOM and just eat in your kitchen! :clap002: :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: (I know I'm brilliant) Ha Ha.

Stepping out FAST before I get something thrown at me! Where's Tony when you guys could use his wise-crack reply! :emoticon 0100 smile:

NEGC: I have to agree with everything you said about that Florida JERK Governor. Now he's running around on his BOOK TOUR! Lord help us if he becomes Pres. Time to move to Canada!
I saw that Worchester, MA was getting hit pretty hard with snow. Might get more!

DAVE: Did you get any of those HIGH WINDS yesterday. I saw there were tornados all over the place coming from Oklahoma Eastward. Some beautiful houses all torn apart.
And then there was that HUGE MOTOR HOME that fell into the water in California that the weather channel keeps showing over and over again. The people that owned that must not have been around to MOVE IT BACK away from the edge of the cliff. SAD.

Karen: Take a picture of your roofers at work and when it's done!

We have SUNSHINE right now. Ice is melted... AGAIN. But it's not the end of the crazy weather. More to come according to the weather guys.

OUT of here for now. We're eating out SOMEWHERE. Worked too hard this morning on those darn Nut Rolls to bother COOKING TONIGHT. ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Would love a juicy (greasy) Bar Hamburger and cold beer! :clap002:
