Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hi GANG.
Glad everyone loved the pics of those YOUNG FOLKS. Just the best group of people you could ever know!

Art's appt went well. The doctor was A DREAM. Took his time to talk to Art and ask him questions, etc, etc. If only ALL doctors could be like this one. Short and Sweet of the appointment was he told him he needed to see an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist. Gave us 2 good recommendations. Said it might be Virgo and something to do with Crystals in your head. Art knew what he was talking about. So this will be our LAST place to see just what is what. Always something.

I have a Re-Check doctors appt soon and then I want to go to get my Drivers License renewed. After so many years of doing renewing ONLINE you have to show up in person to get a new picture. Let's hope I pass the eye test! DUH!!

I see that you Florida folks are finally getting warmer weather. Mid-70's is so much better than 50's! Enjoy.

Mike: Hope things are still going smoothly for FAY and you too. Good to know the Tierney's have been visiting you. Nice to have good friends close by when you need them the most.

I'll catch up with you folks later.

Kathie, glad Art's Dr appt. went well, Doctors that actually take time with a patient and LISTEN are about as rare as Unicorns!

Lee, so how was First Watch, will there be a return visit?

We had quite a "crowd" at the Wednesday service this morning, 11 of us including Rev. Lisa! After church Pamela & I went out with Gerrie to give communion to 2 of our shut in's. Since I am a Lay Eucharist Visitor in training Gerrie had me lead the service at both ladies homes. I get nervous doing that, but at least this time I didn't drop the host on the floor like the last time I went out with her.:emoticon 0104 surprised: It does make for a long day though, I left home a little before 10 and got home about 3:30. Now I have some leftovers from lunch to warm up & a glass of wine calling my name. Enjoy your evening all!

Hey there friends. How’s everyone doing?
I think I heard that wine calling you too Karen. A very busy day for you but you seem to enjoy those days in moderation so, good for you. It’s good to not drop the host. About First Watch, “yes”, there will be a return visit. I was feeling adventurous so I went for 1/2 the roasted veggie sandwich and 1/2 a Cobb salad. Lu-Ann had an omelette. They were all good. I thought the price was reasonable for breakfast and a pot of coffee.
Good news for Art and his appointment. I love auto spell. I too am a Virgo. I’m pretty sure you meant vertigo but I know I make my share of errors so I can laugh with you. Remember Dave always did his posts in a word processor and copied and pasted. It’s the same at home with driver’s licenses Kathie. You get to renew online then you have to make a guest appearance for an eye test and new photo. You’ll be just fine!
Yes Mike, how are you and Fay doing. I agree that it’s so nice that you have family and friends close by who look out for you both. H
After breakfast we went up to Marshall’s and contributed to the local economy. We picked up almost $400CDN worth of clothes for $185CDN. I needed a couple, OK three, new golf shirts and my little shopper got some jeans and a couple of tops.
Almost time to get dinner underway. Have a good evening everyone.
Did anybody else heat that? Wine is calling my name too! ;)

Nice chatter on here.

Mike:
I know you usually post later. Just hope things are okay your way! Thinking of you and Fay as always. :emoticon 0152 heart:

Karen: Should we address you as “Sister Karen”? So proud of you for all you do within your church. You found your ‘nitch’ at your church and they are so lucky to have you. Keep up the good work. :clap002:

Dr’s appt went perfectly. I too, like Art, was able to get a Nurse Practitioner that works with my Doctor that LISTENED and took her time explaining various things with me. WOW!

After that I went to the Sec of State office and got a really nice lady to process my license renewal and new picture and car registration TAGS. That all took 10 mins. First time ever I didn’t have to wait for over 1/2 hr. Nice to get that out of the way.
All in all a busy great day!

Art’s at a Bike Club meeting and I’m enjoying doing nothing! Ha ha.
We are both going to go over Mr. Manny house tomorrow. (Thurs) Mark is out of town and the rest of them are at work and the MOST SPOILED PUP EVER needs some hugs and scratches. Can’t wait to playnwith him.

REVISED POST.

Lee: So nice of you to support the local stores. Glad you got a few things for yourselves from Marshalls. And your FIRST WATCH choices sound yummy. We have one of those restaurants right down the street from our house. We went there when they first opened and found the prices rather high. Need to go online and see just how much higher they are now.
Prices go up on food, gas, clothes, utility bills, etc, etc and our INCOME stays the same. I just don’t know how couples with young children make do these days.

Dr’s appt went perfectly. I too, like Art, was able to get a Nurse Practitioner that works with my Doctor that LISTENED and took her time explaining various things with me. WOW! The lady at the front desk had a interesting name and of course I asked her what Nationality she was and she said Macedonian. I told her I was Serbian and she said domyou go to Ravanica church and I said yes, all my life. She knew our retired priest and mentioned a few names of people in the church that I knew too. WHAT A SMALL WORLD. The Nurse Practitioner was Ukrainian!

After that I went to the Sec of State office and got a really nice lady to process my license renewal and new picture and car registration TAGS. That all took 10 mins. First time ever I didn’t have to wait for over 1/2 hr. Nice to get that out of the way.

Good morning. A foggy start to the morning. But warmer at 57F than it has been for a bit. Ava and I are already back from our early walk. So many people heading off to work between 6:15 and 6:30. Some folks already out for walks.
Breakfast used to be one of the least expensive meals out Kathie. Lu-Ann and I used to go out every weekend for breakfast at a little restaurant in Brantford when we lived in Ayr. Then it crossed the $15 mark, $60 a month!, and we stopped going. At home a weekday breakfast “special” at Stacked before 9:00 am ran us $25! So except on “staycation” we rarely go out for breakfast. We found First Watch to pretty much be in line with other places, including Cracker Barrel. Plus they use real fresh ingredients. No powdered eggs there. The price was less than our beloved breakfast at Disney’s Kona Cafe.
I’m glad your trip to the DMV went so well. For so long they were a much maligned branch of all governments. Have you seen any of Karen’s unicorns? Getting two really attentive medical folks seems EXTRA rare!
Thursday is “Salted Carmel cake day” at Gideon’s Bakehouse. Famous for their huge, delicious cookies they also do amazing cake slices. That is Lu-Ann’s favourite. They have a location at The Springs and also East End Market in Orlando. We thought we’d go there because Ava can come.
The things we do for our dogs and grand dogs, eh Kathie! :)
Well, I’ll bid the rest of you a fantastic day. Talk to you later.

Good morning from really gray & gloomy Belleview, temp isn't to bad but some sunshine would be nice!

Kathie, wow! I hope you bought a lotto ticket yesterday, 2 caring compassionate doctor visits in a row? Amazing. Have fun with Mr Manny, I sure do miss our Hansel buddy.

Lee, ummm, doesn't Salted Caramel cake travel well? Asking for a friend who also loves anything Salted Caramel. ;) Nice that you were able to score some shopping bargains yesterday as well

Mike, time for a check in to let us know how you & Fay are doing.

Another full day of running, going to Barb's around 10:30 for her dressing change, then to Jane's to pick up the lemon cake she bought for Barb's birthday in April. It's an Aldi cake and if you don't buy it when you see it you won't get it later. The cake freezes well so it will still be fine April 2nd, if not, extra ice cream will fix that.
Choir practice today from 1:30-2:30, we finally got it moved to daytime practice instead of 6:30 at night.
Then Ginger has Vet appt. at 4, good thing I have leftovers to heat up for dinner so I don't have to cook! For now I think it's time to chill & enjoy my 2nd cup of coffee!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits!

MIKE: You have us all a tad worried. Hope you're okay over your way.

Karen: Well, you sure do have a busy day. I guess that's what keeps our minds alert! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Lee: Sounds like you have a good plan for today too. YUM to that bakery item. Take a picture if you get this in time.
Ava will be glad to get out and about.

I made Mashed Potatoes to go with dinner that I'm making at Jill's.
I NEVER made Pork Tenderloin, but the "sale price" at our Kroger's was so good I just had to buy it and do my best. I've been reading on what NOT to do and what TO DO so it's moist and not dry. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
Green Beans will be the veggie and some gravy to cover all the mistakes! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Gotta get going for now. There's a load of wash that needs to get folded soon.

IMG_1226.webp

Well, I didn’t manage a picture of Lu-Ann’s cake slice but I found a picture of a slice with a whole cake Kathie. It is an 8” triple layer cake and is just ridiculously delicious!
I’m not sure how a slice would travel Karen. I would think if it had to travel a distance it would likely be OK in a cooler bag.

gravy to cover all the mistakes! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
I can’t see that happening, the mistakes part, with anything you make!
Overcast here but there may be a little pool time this afternoon.

well Ginger didn't make her Vet appt. today, someone in the first house by the gate ran there car into the garage & were stuck in there. The rescue squad & firetruck had both sides of the entry blocked, going to try again 8:15 on Tues

Lee, that cake looks Delish!

Kathie, let me know how the pork tenderloin turns out. I've bought them a few times but they never taste as good as I think they will. I'm sure Jill will be delighted to have dinner waiting for her when she get's home!

Poor both of you Karen. You get yourself psyched to take Ginger and her set and only get as far as the gate.
I hope the cause of the problem wasn’t medical in nature.

Lee: You have me drooling over here looking at that cake. WOW!
I think if you had the bakery FREEZE a whole cake in TWo halves or you guys freeze it in the rental house you could buy a styrofoam cooler and find a place that has DRY ICE you might just be able to get that Carmel Salted Cake to Canada! Finding the Dry Ice would be the hardest part. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Karen: I have to tell you the Pork Tenderloin turned out amazingly good! We could have used more of it. I did a google on “making pork tenderloin” and followed the instructions on SEARING in a heavy pan on high heat all sides. Then putting it in a cake pan. I used a 9x13 type pan. I put a piece of parchment paper in it and sprayed it lightly with PAM. It went into a preheated 425 degree oven. Covered it lightly w/ foil and Checked it at 15 mins and it was at 145 degrees inside meat temp. Took it out and let it rest for about 10 mins. Next time I’ll check it even soon so it will be slightly more pink in center.
Sliced on a angle and it was tender and good.

The meat came in a pkg with 2 nice size tenderloins in it. We could have used one more pkg of two. We made due and left some for Eric & Mark when they made it home later.

FYI: The night before I took the time to remove what is called the “silver skin.” Then I seasoned it with Salt, pepper, garlic powder and drizzle of olive oril or just veggie oil would work too. Put it in a plastic baggie in the refrig over night. Took it out a few hours before to get it to close to room temp. I did the searing of all sides and put it in the oven for cooking.
Hope this helps.

I have to go with Art to our bigger
Corwell/ Beaumont hospital to pick up a CD of his last MRI of the head. I was able to get an appt with a ENT specialist and he requested us to bring that CD with us to the appt.
The hospital won’t let me pick-up the CD scan without Art’s written permission. So it’s just easier for him to gomin person. Geez!

I’ll try and call Mike if I don’t see him on here.

Okay, I’m out of here. Sorry this was so long.

Sleep? What’s that?
Some nights it’s good and then there’s nights like last night. If I wake up early, like 4:45, I just get up because I can’t just lie in bed. I’m afraid if I’m restless of disturbing Lu-Ann who needs her sleep.
If you suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia this isn’t your day! Fear of Friday the thirteenth. I can’t even pronounce it so there’s no point being afraid of it. :p
Your tenderloin sounds fantastic Kathie. I know Gideon’s would sell us a whole cake. For $98USD! Yep, that’s the whole cake price. They say it will serve approximately 20!
Did they find out what caused the crash in your community Karen?
If you get a chance let us know how things are your way Mike.
Hmmm. 6:04. Coffee or try to get Ava out for a walk. Followed by coffee.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Mid-Morning!

Got up early and we got ourselves ready and took off to the Pancake Factory for a Valentines Breakfast. We never go to a restaurant on the day of the holiday. Especially a breakfast place. Not busy and the crepes were yummy. Other than a card for tomorrow this was it for Valentines Day. Art always would buy a bouquet of flowers and a bag of Lindt candies. I begged him to please not do this year. I don't need the candies and the flowers are totally overpriced for holidays. Hey, it works for us.

I called the Hopsital BEFORE heading out and actually got the right dept for the CD MRI disk. You have to order the disk and wait to get it. The nice lady said that if the doctor is in the same healthcare system where Art got the MRI the doctor could pull it up in his office. Well, yes, but this doctor wanted a DISK. She said their dept is letting doctors know that by mid 2026 they would not be making CD disk anymore. OKAY! Art can pick-up the disk at our local Annex hospital on Monday after 10 a.m. Yippee. It's close to our house and that will satisfy the new ENT doctor. What I don't do for this MAN of mine!! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: :emoticon 0140 rofl:

I'm calling MIKE and will get back to you all as soon as I talk to him or one of his kids.

Sunny and cold here. The SUNSHINE & BLUE sky really does help.

Okay, I called MIKE's cell # and NO ANSWER.

Called the home # I have and NO ANSWER, but it did go into a recording machine for a message.
I left a message and gave him my home # really slow in case he needed to write it down. I mentioned that we need to get one of his kids phone numbers to have on hand.
I just PRAY everything is okay with FAY and with MIKE. Going to be a long day until I hear back from him.

We need to give each other some BACK-UP numbers just in case we should ever need them. :emoticon 0104 surprised:

If you all get an unexpected warm feeling a tad after 1:00 this afternoon, well, it’s from me toasting you all with a glass of True Blue Crazy Good.
Since we started being in FL for Valentine’s Day Kathie, and cards started to cost a stupid amount of money, we go to the greeting card section of Publix or Target, and pick out cards for each other. Then we read them, have a wee hug, and put them back in the rack! To quote you…
Hey, it works for us.

Good morning, bright & sunny here today as well, LOVE IT!
Kathie, thanks for checking up on Mike for us, hope you hear back from someone soon. I copied & saved your pork tenderloin instructions, it sounds pretty good.
Lee, ahhh, True Blue Crazy good, that sure was some good tasting wine! I remember Friday the 13th being Marcia's favorite day!

Got a slow start to the day today, never rolled out of bed till after 8! I was planning to go to Jane's & pick up some chicken & noodles she had made for Barb & I and then pick up Barb's medicine from the pharmacy. Barb decided to pick up her own meds so I will pick up our food tomorrow after work day at church. That leaves me with no where to do, WOW!!
I did manage to get my taxes done online this morning & have a $119 refund coming, only because I have tax taken out for my IRA distribution. It's silly I get back exactly what they take out but if one year I didn't do it & ended up owing I would have to pay a penalty.
Checked my money market account & the insurance company paid the settlement on my truck, 1 month & 1 day after the accident & just over a week after they decided to total my truck. They never called or emailed to tell me the claim was processed & ready to be paid so it was a BIG surprise to see the money in my account! I sent an email to the adjustor confirming than now is when I cancel the existing policy on my truck.
I think now is a good time to go enjoy some of that sunshine, will check back later for a Mike update

Sorr y I haven't been on here, it has been for a varity of reasons. Fay has been in and out of th e hospital and PT. Every thing seems to be going well and then something else happens. Right now she is okay but has been in a lot of pain and very depressed. I didn't see her yesterday and will not see her today. Some times I don't wear my hearing aids becausI I am almost deaf so iif the he phone rings I don;t hear it.A lot of it depends on the kids schedules, I am going to have to do what Dave did, type it in word, copy and paste, Kathie, I use a phone called pactetell and it prints everything the caller says but I have to have to be talking on the phone. I will have Michael check the landline. Hi to K2 and Kc. Now to make sure I post this.
