Morning, everyone! Not a lot on tap here today, so it may be a long day. Last night I finally got a good night's sleep. I slept until about 7:30 and that's unheard of for me.

Kathie - Glad the tooth was an easy fix. I think I'm going to have a cup of coffee and an English muffin when I get off here!

Karen - Glad the potluck went well. Anything new on the bathroom project? Great picture, by the way.

Lee - Nice that you met another couple from the neighborhood at that meeting. Do they live near you?

Dave - Good of you to get back to your exercise routine. Sounds like a good day to stay inside by you.

Nancy - You sure were a busy lady with all your stops yesterday!

I want to give my pulmonologist a call today. This is allergy season and when I tend to get congested. We all know where that can lead. I just hope he will send me something without having to go into one of their offices and that he doesn't want to send me to the hospital! Time will tell .

Now for that cup of coffee and English muffin ... All of you up north, keep warm. All of you in Florida, keep cool!

Good morning. Sleep last night was hit and miss and only finally getting more than an hours worth early this morning. No real plans for me today.

All have a great day.

Good afternoon...steamy hot day here today...and of course this is the day I pick to clean off the back porch...took all the furniture out on the patio, vacuumed the rug & took it out there too...then mopped the tile floor...whew...once the sun goes down a little bit I will wipe down the furniture & bring it back inside. I've been looking at replacing the chair cushions but think these will have to do for another year...2 cushions now cost almost as much as what I paid for the set years ago...

Dave, I miss some of the people I used to work with...but working not so much. I really did have it made at that job though...

Pat, what was the dinner decision the other night...eat in or go out?
Barb called this morning & said Wes was picking up the insulation to replace what came down when they took out the ceiling...he is planning on working there all day today & tomorrow so he should get quite a bit done...hopefully he will get all the drywall up so I can paint this weekend...

Lee, hope you & LuAnn are not feeling any ill effects from the wedding last weekend...

Nothing much else to gab about...I really should turn the air on to cool the house off...but I'm trying my best to hold off till May 1st...it's bad enough I had to turn the sprinklers on this morning as the grass out front was getting crunchy when you walk on it...always something...

Just as expected, it's a slow day around here. Actually, it's boring!! I called my pulmonologist's office and the best I could get out of the gal was to give me an appointment on my birthday (May 18). I told her that was fine, unless I end up in the hospital before that with pneumonia.

I think we'll head for the Grille tonight for dinner with Elaine's youngest. The older son now has a job and G&E are going to see Elton John in concert at the Amway Center. That leaves us with having to figure out dinner either at home or someplace I'm willing to pay for the 3 of us. Thus the Grille.

The battle between DeathSantis and Disney continues to be the top story on our news. He is such a baby with all this crap and if his plan goes through, it will cost all of us in Central Florida at lease $1500 more each year in taxes to cover the Disney expenses. Needless to say, we are not happy about any of this.

Time for a glass of wine!

Karen - I just saw that you posted. How can you possibly not turn AC on when temps are in the high 80's? You'd be amazed if you just put the AC on and left it alone. It really wouldn't cost you more and it would stay comfortable 24/7.

We ended up staying home and having some baked clams I had in the freezer.

Good morning!
Another cool day here today. Yesterday was just plain cold.
Ah, the super spreader known as “The Wedding”. The same one I really wasn’t interested in going to. Any way Lu-Ann and I tested negative again yesterday. On the news that now the bride, her mom and yesterday evening the groom’s Dad all tested positive. All triple vaxed! And those, in addition to the first guy, are just the folks who have either tested and / or admitted they are positive. Everyone says their symptoms are very mild. Well, if they’re so darned mild what made them test in the first place? I reckon we’ll swab a couple of more times over the next few days.
A good night’s sleep seems something that is hard to come by for a number of us lately.
We were on Peachy duty yesterday. Her Mom was having severe pain and headed to the hospital. After many tests the diagnosis is gall bladder related. More rests and a trip to the specialists to come. I popped over a couple of times to take her for a quick walk.
I’m starting to think all of these medical appointments we all have are good things. They help us retirees fill in our days.
We’re watching the power struggle between your idiot Governor in Florida and The Mouse. Like most of the clowns who think a certain former president was one to be proud of I don’t think DeathSantis thought this through before he climbed into the sandbox and started throwing sand around. Property owners in the effected counties are not thrilled at assuming the bond debt involved in stripping Reedy Creek of their special status.
We noticed the same thing with outdoor cushions here too Karen. They have just gone crazy expensive!
Well, I’m gonna get things underway. By that I mean that since I’ve been up since 3:45 it’s time for coffee.
Have a good, safe day everyone. Wash up, mask up and stay safe. This stupid virus is FAR from over.

Oh peachy, it's 29 degrees here at the moment.

Just wondering K2; Instead of buying a new bike, can you just lower your seat? Most seats are adjustable.

Allergy season sure is a pain, BB. Got some Claritin-D in my system.

Turn on your AC already, KC. No matter what month it is. Is that "steamy hot" weather effecting your thinking?

Keeep on testing negative, Lee.

Lucky me, an early morning appointment at the skin doctor. A very nice, and very short, lady. But boy oh boy does she have cold hands.

Good morning. In a bit will go to Publix for a Rx from Bruce and then to UPS store to send back a couple of things to Amazon. Also have to call the Dr to see how Bruce is to take his Coumadin and when he goes back for next INR test.

All have a great day.

Morning, y'all! Another pretty day here with temps a bit cooler than yesterday. A good day to get outside for sure. Another sleep deprived night for me too. I've been awake since 4:00. This is going to be a long day!

Dave - I take Claritin-D also. It works best for me these days. Good luck with your visit to the skin doctor. Bert just went to his last week. Ha's still got the little spots where he got "burned".

Lee -Is that weather ever going to warm up yp your way? Winter just doesn't seem to want to let go, does it?

We ended up not going to the Grille last night as originally planned. Instead Bert said that he wanted to try the new restaurant that has moved in where Tarantino's was. Boy, oh, boy, let me tell you this place is fantastic! First thing they bring you is a whole loaf of hot garlic bread. We had the mussels marinara that were to die for. Bert then got eggplant parm and I got linguine with white clam sauce. Both of us brought home 3/4 of our meals, as it all was so filling. We will definitely be going back there again SOON!

Tonight I actually have to cook. Steaks are on the menu. Elaine's boys won't be here, so we only need 4 steaks. Not as much to prep for sides either.

Time to check out the newspaper and see what's on sale this week at Publix. Have a super day, everyone!

Good Morning New Week GIF by Chippy the Dog
AND IT'S only 36F degrees here in
PURE MICHIGAN! What the heck is going on with this freezing weather?

DAVE:
About the bike. The was once Jill's and since she is a taller gal it was a higher FRAME to begin with. I have LOWERED the SEAT as far as it can go. That worked out good for many years. But I've noticed I've shrunk a tad over the years and my feet JUST touch the cement when I'm sitting on the bike. I need a smaller framed bike for that reason. If I were to loose my balance I'd be a good candidate for crushing my hip!
You reminded me that I need to make ARTIE a Dermatologist appt. He has a few "spots" that could stand to get ZAPPED. Hope you didn't have to have any "digging" done today on your head.

Lee:
Just another good reason NOT to go to these "receptions" or "crowded parties". Good that you and Lu-Ann are testing. I wonder if you need to get the TEST done that they send away for the results. Just yesterday I RSVP'd to a Wedding SHOWER that I would NOT be going. I went online and ordered a shower gift from the girls registry and had it sent to her house. I don't know this girl AT ALL and I have seen the Fiancé 25+ years ago when he was a little kid. We won't be going to the Wedding either. It will be 99% Republicans and we all know they don't take the kind of precautions most of us do.

PAT: How are things going with that TOE and LEG? And also your breathing? It's a shame you can't get into the one doctor until mid-May.
Do you have any idea when the G&E and the boys will be moving out of your house? Did they find a place to live in while the Dad's place is being remodeled? I have a funny feeling they'll be staying in you place for longer than they originally planned. The way contractors work in Florida they'll be lucky to get that house done before Christmas! Lord help you and Bert if that's true.

Karen: Now aren't you the BUSY BUNNY doing all that patio cleaning in the HEAT! I too noticed last year that chair cushions were expensive. I found some ON SALE at Lowe's and grabbed them up. I had spent days driving back and forth to every store I knew that sold patio chair cushions and was glad to get the ones I found. I looked at getting a new outdoor carpet for the deck table area, but they are expensive too. So, the same old one we roll up and put in the basement will have to do for another year.
Good to know that WES is working on the bathroom project again. I can only hope it's NOT TOO HOT when you have to do the painting. PACE yourself if it is hot this weekend. You'd love to paint up here .....it's 36F right now. Ha Ha.

PAT: You got on before I could get off of here. Ha Ha.
So, you ended up going out for dinner after all. Sounds like you found a NICE NEW PLACE to eat. Did Elaine's son like it? What's not to like about a good hot meal.

Nancy: You sure do keep busy girl. Did you get your driveway all finished up? And all the plants potted? We can't even think about planting anything up here until June 1st lately. The flower nursery was open this past weekend when it was in the 80's and as I drove by I could see lots of cars in the parking lot. If anybody bought anything I sure hope they took it inside their garages or it will definitely be dead in the temps we've had so far this week.

I'm out of here for now. I need to continue my dining room project. I'm washing everything that goes back into that room. So far I have about 10 pieces of the stemware crystal that I registered for 55+ years ago that is NOT going back into the cabinets. I never use them and why keep them. They'll be in the "garage sale" when it happens.

enjoy GIF

Kathie - Elaine's son decided that he didn't want to go out to eat and wanted to stay home. Just as well because that gave Bert & I some alone time, a rare treat around here these days! I have no idea when G&E will be moving out. Their closing is tomorrow and they want their contractor to start asap after he obtains the necessary permits. They told us that the'd like to get into the house, even if it is not finished, by the time school starts again. Keep your fingers crossed that this happens. The toes are still hurting, one more so than the other. At least I'll see that doctor a week from today and will hopefully get dome answers to make this pain go away,

Good evening from Belleview...nothing much going on here...got Jane's grass cut this morning, but with the wind blowing as much as it was it was just a bit to chilly to get in & vacuum the pool again, so she'll let it filter some more & we'll try again next week...since I got done early she fixed me a rotisserie chicken sandwich to go...on a Hawaiian hoagie roll...had it for dinner tonite with some fruit & it was YUM! Barb came by earlier this evening too & dropped off mexican lasagna...so now I have dinner for tomorrow night..
Wes has all the dry wall up & the shower surround installed..Barb said he had a heck of a time getting that in...partly because he was working alone & even being in 4 pieces it was a little hard to manage by yourself. He did 1 skim coat on the walls & is hoping to come back tomorrow after Barb get's off work to give it another coat...if he doesn't get his other job done tomorrow he told her he'd come Sat. while she's working & do it....it isn't something that will make noise while he's working...I should be able to paint either Sun. or Mon. then. Got a bill this afternoon from the 1st guy who started the project for $600....I told him since he didn't do the roof seal like he said he would he needed to adjust the bill to take that into account...we shall see...took him long enough to get us an invoice...

Good evening. Did not really do much of anything today.

Got am email today that I would need to change my seats on the flights to Vancouver . Could not do anything on line but saw that we now have three flights and only an hour layover in San Francisco, so I called. Got a very nice lady and she was able to help me out in that yes it is now 3 flights, we still have the seats I had booked and an aisle and middle on the now second flight, but now I have to prepay for luggage on two of the flights and of course today I can't do it on line so will have to keep trying. Bruce won't be happy that we won't be able to go into San Francisco but oh well. I won't be telling him until closer to the date we go.

All have a good night.

Good Friday morning Bunnies!

Since, K2, you don't fit your bike anymore because you are melting.......Just tell us if you are a good witch or a bad witch.

You have my sympathies BB. I don't think I could handle a family of relatives living in my house for over a week. You certainly have more patience than I do.

I see another paint job coming your way, KC. What's the color? I'm so glad you found Wes. Something tells me that this isn't the last time you call him for a job.

Here you go, Key Lime Pie lovers. At the grocery store Kathi picked up a bag of Key Lime Pie M&Ms. How can they not be good?

She did the grocery shopping yesterday while I was at the skin doctor's. Nothing serious found on my exam. But the doctor did freeze off 6 spots on my forehead.

Our two doggies are bonding more everyday. Fuzzbutt has never been interested in chew toys. But she will pick up Jack's, so they can play tug-of-war. Cute.

This morning Kathi and I are off to the dental surgeon so she can get her first implant. She has to have a driver, me, to get home. Another early morning appointment.

Up to 60 today, and a sunny day to boot.

But no matter what your weather is, ya'll have a "sunny" day.

Good Morning Wrabbits! Sunny and 35F…..suppose to get up to 54F this afternoon and then get cloudy. The sunshine sure looks good for now.

Dave:
Wishing Kathi all the best at the dentist With that implant.
Art goes next week to get that one tooth pulled! Time will tell if he needs a implant! Ca Ching….$$$$
Nice that the pups are entertaining themselves.
FYI: I am a GOOD WITCH. Ha ha.

Making us a batch of Blueberry Muffins. They’re in the oven as I type.

Karen: Yikes on that $600 bucks for the moron who really didn’t do much other than deliver some wood and messed up the roof job. Let him sweat it out and I wouldn’t give him anymore than $200 bucks. And that would be generous.

I bet that WES is wondering why he took on the shower install after all he has had to do! I’m just glad you have somebody that won’t leave in the middle of the job. What color did Barb pick out for the walls?

Muffins are out and cooling!

Need to do some running around today looking for material to try and make a simple Panel valance for the dining room window. And might change out the chair seat material. Just depends on what’s out there and how much it costs.

The house across the creek that had the guy growing WEED in the basement is getting a TOTAL REMODEL! Ed, our lawnman who lives next door filled me in on just what’s going on! Every neighborhood should have. “ED” to fill in the mysteries of the sub.
Turns out the house was a rental! Who knew!!! The owner didn’t renew the lease after finding out what was going on in the house. He took out the fireplace, bathrooms, flooring, basement ceiling etc, etc. Had to get the smell out of the house. Sad thing was that house was in excellent shaper from the folks that lived there for 28 yrs. If they only knew what was going on with their former house they’d flip out.
The owner doesn’t know if he’s going to sell or just rent again. Ed says he’d like to buy the place, but with the skyrocket prices he doesn’t think it would happen.

Out of here now to enjoy a fresh blueberry muffin & coffee.

Have a good day all.

Good morning one and all! :D Another pretty day here, except for the wind that doesn't seem to want to go away.

Dave - Good luck to Kathi getting that implant. I can see why she needed a designated driver. I love watching animals play together. Even more fun is a big goofy dog wanting to play with an old Siamese cat. That poor dog has been hissed at over and over, but still keeps coming back for more.

Karen - I think I'd tell that guy that sent you the bill exactly where he should put it! Use your imagination!!! Glad Wes is sticking with it to get the project finished.

Kathie - I was planning on making a batch of blueberry muffins today also, but then I realized that no one will be here to eat them except Bert and I. G&E are getting ready to head for Melbourne for the closing on their house. They are so thrilled to have finally reached this point. They can finally talk seriously with the contractor. Contrary to what Karen ran into, the contractor has reached out to them a couple of times to see if they had any work for him yet. Gary said he's very loud when he talks. I said he probably was originally from NJ!!! LOL

Not much planned for around here today. We may take a ride to find the doctor's office I need to go to on Wednesday. That's about it. There's not going to be anyone here for dinner tonight, so I don't know what we're going to do in that department. I'm sure we'll think of something.

Enjoy your Friday, everyone, and stay safe!

Good morning.
Last Saturday’s “Super Spreader” continues to claim more victims. As long as it’s not Lu-Ann and I…
It was a beautiful morning for a walk down by the water. From the number of squirrels in the park I think, as Saint Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland our “Saint Kathie” has driven all of the squirrels out of Michigan!
Exciting day for Gary and Elaine for sure Pat. Have you and Bert decided what the new key code will be for your front door when everyone leaves? Still, I suspect you will miss the hustle and bustle.
My BiL and SiL had a similar experience with a house across from them too Katie. The owner had to take the interior pretty much down to the studs to get the smell from the grow op out of the house! Like your area, they live in a really nice community and suspected nothing!
Why do I have a sudden hankerin’ for a warm blueberry muffin? Better than an urge for a “whacky tobacky“ cigarette.
I hope the moron contractor sent you an itemized statement Karen. It would be interesting to see how he arrived at his figure.
I have to agree Dave. How can Key Lime M&M’s not be good! My favourite ones so far were the coconut ones in Hawaii.
That seems to be one tight window between flights Nancy. This one’s for you and Bruce.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bch1_Ep5M1s

I‘m heading out to cut the grass. Then I can spread some fertilizer and let the rain we’re supposed to get green things up.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon. Well did not sleep very good last night but after finally getting to sleep slept until almost 9:30 this morning so today will be a breakfast and dinner day with maybe a snack this afternoon.

I had filled out a for a few weeks ago about auto insurance as ours keeps getting higher and higher, so the other day I opened one of the responses and found a policy that save us $3500 this year alone so it will start next week. And today I canceled the next payment for the insurance we have now.

Since my gall bladder surgery I have only been able to drink decaf coffee but decided to see if I could drink regular again so for the past couple of days I have had one cup of regular and so far so good, so will keep up on the one cup a day for at least a week then go to two a day and hope it is good to go. The decaf is good but I do need the caffeine to help me in the morning.

We were supposed to get more rock today but I don't know if we will as we have had 1.72 inches of rain today but it seems to have stopped and the radar does not show any more so maybe we will get the rock.

Tried again this morning to add prepaid luggage to our flights to Vancouver but no luck, so will try again next week.

All have a great day.

You would never know it from the ridiculously low temperatures or the strong winds we are experiencing today but the appearance of tons of dandelions is a sign that Spring is actually here. Temps are supposed to return to more normal in a few days but then they will plunge again. Went out to breakfast this morning and the owner's wife was complaining that the uneven weather temperatures has delayed their plans to reopen the patio that they added last year for outside dining.
BB, seems to me that the fact that only you and Bert would be around to eat those blueberry muffins, would be, by itself, a great reason to bake them.
It took that contractor plenty of time to submit his invoice and since his work was incomplete and unsatisfactory, I think you are more than justified in taking plenty of time before paying him, and then only paying him for whatever work he actually completed.
Does anyone actually understand what "Pure Michigan" is supposed to mean?
As a slogan it isn't quite in the same league as the ones some other states use.

WOW NEGC..... you sure do know how to "stir the pot" by cutting on the PURE MICHIGAN Slogan!

What is meant by Pure Michigan?

The Pure Michigan campaign, which aims to market the state of Michigan as a travel and tourism destination, received state and international attention beginning in 2008 when Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm approved $45 million in additional funding for the Pure Michigan campaign from the 21st Century Jobs Trust
