Good morning. Well the race was postponed yesterday due to rain so it will run today at noon.

Dave of course I remember Sherry and Lamb Chop and Hush Puppy. And "the way back machine from Mr. Peabody and Sherman". Both good shows.

We gave up on KFC chicken and now only buy Publix fried chicken.

Had to pick up a Rx for Bruce this morning and when I went out I saw it had rained and when I got close to Publix is was raining and so I had to use an umbrella to get in and my feet got soaked.

Tonight for dinner it will be breakfast, sausage, biscuits, gravy and eggs. It has been a while since I have done that. And tomorrow will be Shrimp Tacos using shells with lime.

All have a great day.

Well talk about a QUICK appointment! Ha ha.
I had the wrong day! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Should be next Thursday, May 12th. Why I wrote it down on May 2nd is beyond me!

Anyways, good thing the place is only 1 MILE from our house. On a good day I could walk there! (Well, I wouldn't because of the busy street) :icon rolleyes:

Funny thing is that I got the mail from the box as I drove out of the driveway and there was a REMINDER to make an appointment for the x-ray. Too funny.

Nancy sorry you got wet from running from the car to the store in the rain. It happens.

Out of here folks. Enjoy your day.

LEE: NO X-RAY = NO Starbucks treat!

Good afternoon.
Still overcast and cold here on this May 2.
Kathie, I think a Starbucks would have been in order to help you deal with your disappointing day.
First off it was Monday, not Tuesday and then your smashing is the 12th, not the 2nd. We usually go to bed around 10:30. I'm usually up around 5:00 or 5:30. Once a mail carrier always a mail carrier! Darned fine pot o' coffee you made for us by the way.
Here's Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman in front of The Wayback Machine. Another cartoon for kids written with adults in mind!

I don't get the whole gun thing Pat. Ya, I do get the the whole second amendment of The Constitution. Back when the fledgling United States needed to defend themselves from those pesky "Brits". But in 2022 and beyond? Mind you, there are still a lot of Brits in and around the Kissimmee area. They all own homes that they rent out!
One thing about Florida rain Nancy, it sure can come down! Sorry about your feet.
Shrimp and pasta for dinner tonight. So, I best get planning.
See you tomorrow - or Wednesday - if our day at the ophthalmologist goes in an unexpected direction!

It's DAMP and COLD outside and inside too. I just turned up the heat in here.
So much for it being MAY!
I bet Bill & Rita wish they would have stayed in Florida for another month! :emoticon 0138 thinking:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, it's supposed to RAIN here. JOY, JOY!

Off to make dinner.

Good evening!

Kathie, sorry about the appointment mix up....but not sorry to hear I'm not the only one who loses track of what day it is...if I don't have an appointment to "anchor" a day for me I'm clueless most of the time...
Very Pretty flowers too, btw

Dave, another old goat who remembers Sherry & Lamb Chop, and Mr Peabody & Sherman, and Captain Kangaroo, Mr Green Jeans & Grandfather clock...and Romper Room...I don't however remember the dinosaurs...

Pat, there are times I feel like listening to Deathsantis rattle on is like listening to lil t all over again....and yet the state if full of people who think he is the greatest Gov. ever...God help us if he does end up running for President & won....

Lee, sending good thoughts on your visit to the ophthalmologist tomorrow. this is for the drain in the other eye correct?

Nancy, sorry about your parking lot foot bath...most of the time when it's raining I don't even bother with an umbrella...I seem to get more wet trying to get out of the truck & put up the umbrella than if I just make a run for it...wet feet when you are shopping is no fun though for sure!

I did make it in the pool yesterday...the temp was 84, it was breezy so it felt a little cool...we are planning to get together with Wendy at the pool on Thurs. for an early Mother's Day celebration...it's supposed to be 91 degrees so the pool should feel good...
I ended up taking a beloved afternoon nap today.... around 2:30 I was so sleepy I could barely keep my eyes open...not sure why as I slept pretty good last night...I fought it for a while & then decided to heck with it & laid down...slept for about 30 mins & felt pretty good...now I'm off to do the dinner dishes & relax...again...

Karen: I envy you for being able to get into the pool. Oh how I miss floating around in the water. Enjoy it for me too please.

Neat picture of Mister Peabody & Sherman, Lee.

In explanation K2 of what the phrase, "Set the Way-Back machine Sherman" means. Those two characters would often go back in time to talk to famous people. And the Way-Back machine is how they got there.

Yes KC, those of us who can remember those old TV shows are old dinosaurs now. I'm guessing that new picture on your posts is you. To imagine, you were that young once.

Jumping in puddles seemed to be so much fun at one time in our lives, Nancy.

You are so right about how much nicer it was to buy plants and posies at a real nursery, BB. Unlike flower sales in store parking lots.

Today's tip to all you Medicare people.......It's TUESDAY.

Happy Two'sday as the Wrabbit says in the cartoon! Thanks for the reminder Dave.

Well folks, it's going to RAIN, RAIN, RAIN here any minute now. And suppose to continue all day. Good day to KNIT or clean out drawers of junk!

Karen: I bet Barb is thrilled her SHOWER PROJECT is all but done. A little paint and some moldings, etc and she'll be in that shower all day! Did WES install a VENT to suck out the moisture from LONG HOT SHOWERS? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: You'll have to take a picture for us to get a look at the end project. I hope for your sake this is the LAST big project at her place. Getting too HOT OUTSIDE for big jobs.

We will be going over to help celebrate the GRAND OPENING of the WHITE PINE Coffee Mill. It's been a long time in the making. This group of Coffee Experts (there is a real name for them, I just can't think of it) bought an old Mill and have been working on transforming it and re-doing the inside of this huge place. They put a lot of love and sweat and money into this purchase. I don't know how long it will take to re-coop their money.

They roast special coffee's and ship them out to small deli's and Mom & Pop grocery stores throughout Michigan.
The place is situated right on the Poly Ann Trail Bike Path and the bike group Art bikes with will be stopping by when they use that path. It's not on any main street and I just wonder how many folks will go out of their way for a good cup of coffee. Time will tell.

Okay, speaking of COFFEE.......I need a hit right now. Talk to you all later.

Karen & Lee: Love your new pictures! Forgot to mention that earlier.

We're off to nosy around the ESTATE SALE. And then drive to Oxford for the Coffee Roastery Grand Opening. No biking for Art and the boys today since it will be one heck of a RAIN DAY.

At least another month, K2. So far May has proven to be a sad extension of the weather we suffered through in April.
Lost power for about 50 minutes a little before 10 pm last night but the generator kicked in so we weren't left completely in the dark.
Not a good night of sleep though. Woke up around 3:30 am and never did get back to sleep.

Last January I mailed out property tax bill in the return envelope that was included with the bill the town sent out. Turns out that they sent out envelopes with an out of date return address and it never did arrive at the town, nor, until today, did the USPS manage to return it to me despite the fact that my, correct, address was on the envelope. Town admitted its mistake and waived any penalty when I paid the tax at Town Hall when we returned home in April. Since we moved here we have been receiving daily emails from USPS detailing the mail which is being delivered that day so, you can imagine my thoughts, when today's email shows that errant tax payment will appear in our mailbox today.
So typical of the quality of the mail service we have been receiving since DuJoy took command.

Late good morning to you all! After another night of lousy sleep with my toe hurting, first thing I did this morning was to take a codeine pill. You know toe had to hurt bad for me to take one of them. Feels a wee bit better though. Now if I type something really screwed up, I can blame it on the pill! Boy, would our beloved Tony have had a good time with that line!!!

Kathie - Sorry about the mix up on your dates. I hate when I psych myself up to do something that isn't necessarily pleasant to only find out it's not going to happen that day. You should have still treated yourself to a coffee at Starbucks. Speaking of Starbucks, we have one getting ready to open right outside our subdivision. Across from there, we also have a Wendy's ready to open and they are in the process of building another place that rumor has it will the a Mexican fast food place. Like we don't have enough fast food places. Enjoy your visit to that coffee place to day.

Dave - Just thought of two really, really old TV shows that my parents used to watch - Mr. Peepers and I Remember Mama. Anyone else remember them? They should really test your memory. Of course, some of you might not even have been born then.

Karen - DeathSantis wants to set himself up as a dictator. He's right up there with a couple of other Florida politicians that I detest!

Lee - Raining over your way too? Seems to be a pretty wet spring by you this year. Time for it to warm up too. Don't you agree?

Nancy - I love biscuits & gravy. Only time I get to have some is when our son in law makes it for everyone.

Better get off the computer and get to work filling out the new patient information sheets for the doctor I'm seeing on Thursday. I took exams in school that were easier to deal with and answer all the questions than some of these forms!

So off I go. If I get a chance, I'll drop back later. In the meantime, stay safe, everyone!

Good afternoon. Well I slept until 9:30 this morning, mainly because It was very late when I fell asleep and kept waking up every two hours.

This morning I noticed that our cruise to Alaska had us down for 8:30 dinner, so I tried to change myself on Celebrity and could not so I wen to the site where I bought the cruise and tried calling and the wait time was 40 minutes, so I hung up. Well they have a small pop up for helping you so I tried that, I put in my confirmation number and name and what the problem was, well a rep came on and said she would see what she could do to change our dining time to early and within a few minutes it was done, so now we have 6 pm dining instead of 8:30, so much better.

I was going to fix Shrimp Tacos for dinner tonight but that will wait until Thursday.

I think that today I will look at more excursions for Alaska. Thru an email I found a blog on Royal Caribbean about a cruise to Alaska and I do think that maybe in Ketchikan we will do on our own as this blog and others I have read have said how easy Ketchikan to do by yourself and it will save us money.

All have a great day.

GRASS is growing ............since it's been RAINING since 9:30 a.m. Light rain, but it's still doing it.

Went to see the new Coffee place and let me tell you when you get a Latte there it's NIGHT and DAY compared to Starbucks. SMOOTH and RICH and I'm just glad that place is as far away as it is. YUM.
Then we went for a little further drive (after filling up the gas tank with $60 bucks of gas) to see where Jill works at the Potato Chip factory! She was there and since they were doing a production of chips today we had a quick tour of the place and how the chips go from SPUDS to CHIPS in a bag. Very interesting. Got 2 bags of freshly made chips to take with us. :clap002:

Now I'm waiting for Artie to get done hooking up a ceiling light fixture he took down when he painted the hallway ceiling the other day.
Well.......let's just say the SCREWS are NOT aliening themselves up and he's NOT A HAPPY CAMPER right now. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile: All is 'quiet' in the hallway. I know when to stay out of his way. THIS WOULD BE THAT TIME!:oops:

Out of here for now. I need to get in the kitchen and make us some food. That should help the man out a little!

Good evening from Belleview!
Barb & I loaded up the leftover material that contractor #1 had bought on my Lowes card...took it back & got over $200 credit on my account....that was a nice surprise....got back to Barb's & Wes was there working...he had done the spray texture on the ceiling & walls & was doing the caulk around the shower...bless his heart...he is going to paint the ceiling for me....I was talking about doing it tomorrow & he offered, so I said yes....he will probably do that Thurs & put down the LVP flooring....I am going to go over tomorrow & do the prime coat...and then go back Friday to finish the painting....if he does get the floor down on Thurs. then we will be ready for the plumber to come back next week & set the fixtures and it will be all done....I'll get pic's as soon as it's finished....
The pic is my 1st grade picture....

Good Wednesday morning, Bunnies!

Yesterday was a good news and a not so good news day for me. Good news is the spots on one of my lungs haven't grown since last year. The not so good news is because of my highly expensive prescriptions I've hit the donut-hole already. Geesh, it's not even 6 months into 2022.

We lucked out yesterday when all sorts of storms passed through our part of Ohio. There were all sorts of tornado watches nearby but it bypassed us and the most we got was some light rain.

You are so lucky Bill to have a backup generator if your power gets knocked out.

Good thinking BB on keeping those codeine pills, to have handy if you do need them. Can't say I recall either "Mr. Peepers" or " I Remember Mama". But the names I recognize.

We had late dining on a cruise only once. Way too late for us. And second seating service is so slow.

So happy that you found a coffee place which is better than Starbucks, K2.

Good for you KC on getting over $200 back from Lowes on unused building materials. Other places have a restocking charge. Looking forward to your pictures of the finished project.

For breakfast, I've got a hankering for a hot beef burrito. (The breakfast of champions.)

May The Fourth Be With You GIF by Star Wars

A quick good morning.
The left eye is zapped and it seems a little more tired than the right eye. I reckon the drops will take care of that. I don’t think the eye was helped with the extra concentration and eye movement required to drive in yesterday’s downpour both going and coming home.
Gonna keep it short for now.
You all have a wonderful Wednesday. I’ll catch up later.

Good morning!

Lee - You beat me to that "May the 4th be with you". That was going to be my lead in today.

Dave - That donut hole is a real killer, isn't it? I probably have another month or so before I hit it too, so I feel your pain. Good news though on those spots on your lung not growing. I never watched those shows, as I was still very young, but I do remember my parents watching them once in a while.

Once again yesterday, I showed how flexible I can be when it comes to dinner. We were originally planning to go out for dinner becau se no one else was going to be home. Turned out that they were all going to be here after all, so I made a corporate decision ... We ordered pizza and to make it even better, Gary paid for it!!!
Tonight they will all be here, so I am making meatball stroganoff with noodles and mixed veggies. They all love that meal and it's really easy to pull together.
I still have to finish the new patient paperwork for the doctor I am going to tomorrow. What's left is a real pain. Things like listing all my meds, dosage, how often it's taken, etc. I also have to call my other doctors to have them fax this new guy a copy of my medical records. That should be tricky to do, as their offices are so busy, they never have time to answer the phone, but at least I'll try to get the information for him.

So what has everyone got planned for today? I need to figure out whar I need for tonight's dinner as well as what I need for tacos tomorrow night for dinner. Bert wants to go to the store early, so I guess I'll make that list now. Have a great hump day, everyone!!

Good Mid-Morning! Got to sleep in a little longer this morning. WHY.... well I turned down the heat last night and it was just TOO COZY WARM in bed this morning to get out and about. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
DAVE: Congrats on the good report of NO-NEW GROWTH with those lung nodes. Keep up the good work. I think the fact that you eat all that spicy food keeps them from spreading!

I think you should have Kathi call the company that makes the drug you're running out of and ask.....heck.... BEG for some samples until you get out of the doughnut hole. Heck it's worth it to try. Did you ask your doctor if they had any samples?
Now about the VOTING that went on in OHIO yesterday. Bummer that J.D. VANCE made it to be on the ballot for November. He got the MORONS support and I guess OHIO still has a goodly amount of wacko's that will sell their mothers to do whatever the MORON says to do. SAD. And if you didn't vote same on all of you OHIOIANS. This is what happens.

I'm still sick over the Supreme court possibly over turning Roe vs Wade. I feel like I live in a 3rd world country lately. Hard to believe that we got along just fine all these decades and now some political influence can get to RULE EVERY WOMANS body organs. I feel so bad for people like my granddaughter if she would, GOD FORBID, ever get raped and couldn't safely get a abortion. And all the other reasons for abortion. Having to carry a child that has no kidney's, lungs, etc would be a example of aborting. It's just beyond sickening.
You can bet your money that if there are any protests in our state capital I will drive there and be among the protestors.

Today it's CLOUDY, DRY and COLD. Not supposed to see the sun until 4:30 pm . Well, that's when it starts to go down. Big deal.

I have a picture to post of my Romaine that I cut the bottom off and put in a dish of water. It's growing leaps and bounds. We'll have lettuce to put on our sandwiches soon. Ha Ha.

PAT: I'm mailing you a list that you can fill out with all your meds on it and then just give it to the doctors when you go to new ones. I'm sure you might need 2 lists, but you can cut and paste to made it work for you. I carry around a small piece of paper with my meds listed just in case any doctor ever asks for the current ones. There is NO WAY in HECK that I could ever remember what I'm taking.
Your dinner sounds like it will be yummy.

Karen: Nice to know that Barb's bathroom is ALMOST done. What a long-extended project this has been. Nice that she likes it and it's bigger than the original shower.

Art managed to finally get the ceiling fixture back up without screaming! I know it wasn't easy for him to stand on that ladder for so long.
ALWAYS SOMETHING.

I'm trying to find a nice and simple valance for the front bay window in the dining room. I went looking at fabrics at JoAnns and their choices were just not as good as they use to be. There is a fabric store about 35 mins from here, but it's a mess to drive there with all the construction in that area. Still, I might just have to do it.

And with that I'm out of here. Enjoy your day.

LEE: Hope your

Kathie - I too carry a list of all the meds I am on now along with what the dosage is for each. I also have a full-sized sheet with all the meds with any pertinent information for each.
By the way - you forgot to post the picture of the romaine lettuce. You're slipping, lady!! LOL
