Good Thursday morning, Bunnies! It's in the single digits here at the moment. No new snow yesterday or forecast for today but because of the arctic cold and a bit of wind the schools are closed.

Happy news about my UNVACCINATED son-in-law who's in the hospital with Covid. He's now in a step-down room instead of the ICU. He's still on high concentrations of oxygen, but at least he's not on a ventilator. They are going to drop his high oxygen levels a bit today to see if his lungs are now able to absorb the reduction on their own.

My daughter can't visit him but she can call and get the nurse's updates of his condition.

And he has his cell phone with him. Talking with him she can tell that he's feeling better, because he's complaining about the food and cracking jokes.

As for my daughter and granddaughter, they both finally tested negative for Covid yesterday.

Grocery shopping this morning.

Good morning everyone.
57F here. After the past couple of days and the “future cast” for the weekend it’s like a heat wave.
Our friends called and asked if we’d like to go to EPCOT to ride Ratatouille’s Adventure and see the fireworks. We are so fortunate that as employees they can pass us in and parking is free. The ride is a 3D projection and only the mouse shaped car moves. It was just like being mouse sized and chased through the kitchen in the movie Ratatouille. Great experience. The fireworks and show were the best we’ve ever seen. There were a lot of masks worn last night and we did our best to distance.
That‘s great news about your son in law and indeed the rest of the family Dave. I hope your grocery trip works out well!
We too are bundled up Karen. And we’re supposed to be hearty Canadians. PFFFT to that, eh! I feel a big vet bill coming up. We have to go to Apopka today to pick up the pups special gastro food. At least they can enjoy the ride with us.
Here’s hoping Art’s dental repair works out and the fee doesn’t take a bite out of your bank account. Lu-Ann would say it’s never too cold to walk from the parking area to the wine store. :D
Does your new chair have a battery pack or does it need to be plugged in Pat? I hope it exceeds your expectations. Hopefully you don’t have to fight Bert for it!
Bill and Nancy, you two have a great Thursday too.
Enjoy your day and stay safe everyone.

YIKES.............it's COLD EVERYWHERE!
The Gas bill is going to have to be delivered by way of the 18 wheeler truck since it will be so huge!
Single DIGIT temps here too DAVE.
I have all those things on me except the HAT that Karen posted. COLD is COLD. Hope things change for the better for everyone in Florida.
I wonder if I got OFF of my BLOOD THINNER MEDS if I would feel warmer. Ha ha. That's just a joke by the way!

DAVE:
Good to hear that the SILaw isn't on the Ventilator machine. He's still has a long haul in front of him. Glad your daughter and granddaughter tested negative. NOW to see if any of them will break down and get the VACCINES! My money says THEY WILL NOT. Somehow people like that tend to FORGET real fast what they've been through. All the best to them.

Lee: That Disney Ride sounds really neat. So now you have to PAY for PARKING at Disney Springs? I think you mentioned that when you first went down there. How do you avoid paying when your friends are not with you? Do you have a pass or code or do you just have to pay. How much is it if I may ask??
I'm thinking the temps will turn around soon down there and get back into at least the 70's.
Have you become a Pool Table Shark yet?

My new Afghan project is going to be fun. Not as hard of a pattern as the last one I just did. I do have a ways to go before it keeps my legs warm. Ha Ha.

PAT: So TODAY is your BIG DAY. A spanking new Push Up Chair. Hope the assembly goes well! Did you get a model with CUP HOLDERS?

Okay WRABBITS.... I need to get some coffee. And a nice fresh Biscotti too.
HAVE A GOOD DAY ALL. Be back later.
STAY WARM.

There is a strange yellow orb in this morning's sky. If memory serves it is something called the sun and is a welcome sight after the past few days of rain and clouds. Saw a weather map of back home and it didn't look like anything we would enjoy. I believe the Boston area is expecting about a foot of the dreaded white stuff.
Did anyone else watching last night's Amazing Race say a few prayers that none of those racers crashed into the concrete wall when they did the bungee jump in Switzerland? I'm sure that many safety measures are employed to protect those guys but no way could, or would, I do some of the stunts that they are required to do (even for a million dollars).
Dinner last night was at Carrabbas and was quite good. I did think that their menu has shrunk a bit from what it was in past years. Enough food that we will have the leftovers for lunch today.
Hope the assembly of your chair isn't too challenging for Bert and Gary, BB and you are quickly able to enjoy it.

Good afternoon. Today I am wearing shorts but I know that tomorrow it will be long pants and that I will be busy moving as many plants as possible to the garage and then covering the rest.

I decided to fix chili for dinner and found no ground beef so went to BJ's to get a package and while there found a very good sale on long pants and tops that will work with long johns for Alaska and bought 5 pants, 3 tops, a nice pullover sweatshirt and 3 pr pj's. I had enough rewards and a gift card so all that only cost $25.93. I put the clothes on one check in case I would need to return anything but all fits real good. Then I put the food on another check.

Dave good that your SIl is in a regular room but I do think he has a ways to go. And I have to agree that none of them will get a vaccine when they are able, even though it is said that having Covid just does not make you unable to get again. No real immunity.

Pat if your chair is anything like Bruce's it won't be hard to put together.

It looks like the new dishwasher will be here on Tuesday morning as Bruce got an email about delivery.

All have a great day.

Good afternoon...it's a bit warmer than yesterday, but not by much!

Bill, I'm with you...there is not enough money in the world to get me to jump off something like they had to last night...I really felt sorry for Sherri...last week she had to climb over the Alps & then this week jump off a d@m...and her husband was being a real jerk!

Pat, hope the new chair arrives on schedule & is as comfy as you are hoping for...my sister has used a lift chair for years to sleep in...she said it was more comfortable than her bed...sadly...the chair is on it's last legs & she's having to sleep sitting up in bed...

Dave, that's good news that the Sil has moved out of ICU....hopefully he will continue to recover.
Good luck with the grocery shopping...

Kathie, how did the biscotti turn out?

Lee, it certainly does seem like you have a really good network of friends in the south as well as in the burg....sounds like a fun trip to Epcot. And yep...it's never to cold for a trip to the wine store...

Got my housework done this morning so I think tomorrow is going to be grocery shopping day...want to make some more soup since we still have a few more days of cold weather to deal with...other than that zip on the agenda....stay safe & stay warm!

Hmmm. 22 pounds of veterinary diet dog food…$106.00USD. I know we will need at least another 16 pound bag.
The surface parking at The Springs is closed Kathie. The parking garages are open and they are still free. Parking at Disney Parks is $25. Providing we have Debra and / or Eric when we drive parking is complimentary. As is admission. Christine benefits from the same perks since Gary retired. Billiards is OK but it’s not nearly the workout table tennis is.
I‘m with you on the bungee jump Bill. Not bloody likely. I did hold my breath when Sheri jumped. That’s a whole lotta person tied onto the cords.
I reckon there’s a run on long pants Nancy. Most folks visiting aren’t expecting cool temps and usually don‘t pack extra long pants or sweaters. The cold Saturday is sure going to effect how well the tires work and the overall car setup for The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. I hope your dishwasher arrival is not as frustrating as Bill’s dish washer experience.
We are very fortunate indeed with the folks we have come to know, all of you included, here in Florida. It’s always a good feeling to get housework out of the way Karen. I wonder how many other Florida households are learning how to make soup and chili during these past couple of cool weeks? You are spot on. It’s never too cold for wine.
Would it be safe to assume that Momma Bunny‘s chair has arrived and it’s way more comfortable than expected? Sure hope so.
We may take the pups for a bit longer of a walk shortly. Then a shorter one before bed.
Have a good evening folks.

Not only is that guy a jerk, as he demonstrated in earlier shows, but I couldn't understand his comment that his weight made him ineligible to bungee jump. It doesn't look to me that she is much less heavy than him.
Guess we need to really bundle up for the next few days if the weather persons' predictions of temps in the 20s and 30s are correct.
Back home they are now predicting snowfall amounts of one to two feet, and evacuating some folks who live on the Mass. coast.
Last night all the Chicago shows were repeats and now I see that The Blacklist will be a repeat as well. Guess I'll finally be able to finish the Jonathan Kellerman novel I have been reading on and off all week.
Broke the band on my watch the other day, so I went to Walmart to see about getting a replacement. The clerk at the jewelry counter told me that she couldn't put a new band on my watch since I hadn't purchased it at Walmart. There don't seem to be any jewelry stores in the vicinity so I went back to Walmart and, being a "big spender", I purchased a $8.88 watch. It needs to have a few links taken out in order to fit properly so I guess that I will have to return to the store and see if they can do it for me.
Wonder how long Senator McConnell plans to hold up the president's Supreme Court Justice's nomination when Biden announces a nominee.
Since the Brady/Allen matchup won't be happening this time, Lee, I need your mailing address so I can send you those M&Ms. At least we know that in the current weather conditions, they won't melt in transit. ;-)

It will be 2 degrees in the morning if not ZERO! YIKES!
Time to seriously think about staying UNDER THE COVERS all day or at least until NOON! I only wish I could do that. If I sleep until 7:30 am I’m a happy camper!

I heard today that the sweetest little guy in our church that sells candles and helps the priest with stuff behind the Altar is in the hospital with Covid. Bummer. He and his lovely wife are ALWAYS working in and around the church. I hope he’ll be okay. I’m going to call our
Sr Priest and ask about the guy.

I saw this on FBook.

TGIF Bunnies!

You sure are taking advantage of all that Florida has to offer, Lee. Once you get back to Canada I doubt that you'll think of anything that you wished you had done.

K2; I'm going to guess that the colder it is, the faster you make a new Afghan. Thanks for the Charlie Brown hug.

I too am interested to know what you think of your new lift-chair, BB. It sure looks comfy.

Good time NOT to be anywhere near Boston, Bill.

You're a magician Nancy. Turning ground beef into clothing.

Hoping that you are warming up KC. So what kind of soup will you be making? I don't eat much soup, but I won't turn down a good, thick, chicken-noodle soup. I worked with one guy who always had to have soup with his lunch. Winter or summer.

Grocery shopping yesterday was uneventful. The only thing Kathi snatched up that wasn't on the list was an orange cake mix. Says it actually has orange juice in it.

Can these grocery stores jam any more displays in the isles? It's bad enough that some customers park there carts in the middle of the isles to go grab something. Now it's like dodgem-cars maneuvering past all those displays.

Yup Freezing Friday!
Seems like it’s cold everywhere. We have a few snowflakes showing off right now. Hope it doesn’t amount to anything. Our Lawn guy finally put the “invoice” for this years snow removal in our mailbox! I guess his knee is all better from the replacement. All we need to 10 more ”snow removals” to break even for his work! It’s like a insurance policy. It’s great when you need it.

I made us Pancakes from the last of the mix in the AUNT JEMIMA BOX! Her replacement will be called ”Pearl Milling Co”. The whole reason for taking Aunt Jemima off the box is crazy. It’s as bad as changing all the sporting teams names if they had anything to do with Indians!

Bill: I bet you don’t care what the temp is in Florida when you see that the East coast is getting hit hard with lots of snow. I bet the golfers have LONG SLACKS on this morning.

Pat: How’s the progress on the chair? Next you need to get the electric lift bed! If I had one of those kinds of beds I‘d most likely spend the entire WINTER IN IT!

Lee, to e to load up the pups and take a day trip further south-east and see the water. Just wait until it warms up a little.

Dave: I remember when I used one of the electic carts in our geocery store for the first time and I TOOK OUT ONE OF THOSE CARDBOARD STANDS in a isle. I was so embarrassed And ticked that it was in the isle to begin with.

Okay Wrabbits, I have nothing more for you folks. Stay safe, wear your masks and come back and tell us about your day.
STAY WARM!

Nothing much to say this morning...Scooter is having some digestive issues again, so back to the Vet we go....I'm not ready...but it may be time soon to start thinking about letting her go...2 trips to the vet in one week is not a good sign...but it just won't be today...

Cable / Internet provider kicking up a fuss today. Seems they had a remote firmware update and forgot to warn people. ARGHH!
We’re meeting A’Burg friends for lunch so I’ll stop by later.
Karen, it goes without saying that our hearts go out to you and Scooter. We know that whatever decision you make it will be in everyone’s best interest. :emoticon 0152 heart: And no, we’re never ready.
You all stay safe today please.

A late good morning. Bruce is/has cleaned the fridge in the garage, I use it mainly for the freezer. I washed all but one shelf and that because it won't fit in the sink.

This afternoon will put almost all the plants in the garage and the few that stay out I will cover with sheets and use clothes pins to close up. I have three Desert Rose plants that are too heavy to move at leas they are next to each other so not too hard to cover and there are a few other plants to cover.

For the last 3 years of her life my Step-Mother slept in her recliner but never reclined it, my brother bought her a lift chair and she would not sit in it so had to sell at a very reduced price. When she went to hospice her recliner went right in the garbage. Things would have been so much better had she used the lift chair.

Everyone stay warm and have a great day.

Karen sorry to hear about Scooter and the tummy issues. Hopefully the Vet will give you straight answers on how to proceed. Thinking of you today BIG TIME.

Pat: What’s happening on your end of the Hutch?

Are you doing your breathing exercises? Do you still get home visits?

It’s 29 degrees and SUNNY here right now. If you didn’t know just how cold it is outside you would think it was 75 degrees out there. Gotta love that sunshine!

I’m making progress on my knitting. Only had to take on row out because wasn’t paying attention to the pattern.

Nancy you and Bruce sure are busy little Beavers every day! Keep up the good work.

Bill: Boston was on the NEWS asking people to stay home and off the roads. To make sure to keep in touch with neighbors , etc. Sounds bad over there.

Lee: Hope you guys had a good lunch.

Key West,FL High today 50.

Tomorrow morning you folks in Florida will be 31F to start. Yikes. Time for CHILI, Soup, or pot roasts.

Back to my knitting! I should be washing the kitchen floor, but I’m just not in the mood for that.

Good barely morning, gang! I have come to the conclusion that the colder it gets, the slower I move! Plus sleep later - didn't get out of bed until after 10 this morning and I don't see that improving with the temps we are planning to see over the next couple of days.

Speaking of temps, that brings me to a menu of food for the weekend. Already made the beef stew turkey, and chicken soup. Gary isn't a big fan of soup, so I think I see a big pot of gravy going on the stove. I'm thinking meatballs and sausage. I have lots of different types of pasta already and Publix is so close to get bread. I think I have a plan. Now we just have to figure out what to have tonight!!

Dave - I just sent Bert off to the supermarket to get the stuff for tonight's Cajun dinner.

Well, I started this well over an hour ago but got hung up on a few other things.

Lee - Keep those knees warm, young man! No frost bitten Canadian knees allowed here in Florida, in case you didn't hear. It always fascinates me how much more you see and do while in the Sunshine State than we do. Reminds be of growing up in NJ and only getting to the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building only once and both times i t was on a date. My parents never went into NYC, if given a choice.

Bill - It may be cool here, but this weather sure beats the heck out of up home. Glad you enjoyed your dinner with. Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Carrabbas, but I agree with you about how the menu has been shortened, including some of my favorites. It's been a while sine we were there the last time.

Karen - Sorry to hear that Scooter is under the weather once again. I hope she feels better soon.

Kathie - I too was disappointed than they changed the name of the pancake mix. And they call that progress???

Would you believe my chair just got delivered? They ran out of time to deliver it last night! The guys are just taking it out of the box, so I'm going to go supervise. I'll check back in once I know how it will work. In the meantime, stay safe and stay warm, gang!

Lots of gabbing from the gang today. Too danged cold up north to go out so you may as well stay close by the hutch.
Lunch was at Blaze Pizza at The Springs. It was, as always, really good. We thought we’d see how long the wait was for Gideon’s Bakehouse. Let’s just say I have better things to do with 2 hours and 40 minutes. Their cookies are good but really…

I doubt that you'll think of anything that you wished you had done
Um, come when it was warmer comes to mind.
Listening to 60’s Gold on Sirius this morning and Phlash (Gordon) Phelps said Detroit was actually colder than Anchorage, AK Kathie. As cool as it may be here it’s a darned site warmer than The Burg where it will feel like 1F with the wind chill.
Now listen Pat. How far ahead do we need to make reservations at that place in Bellalago? The food always sounds good and from all reports what ever they make “sells out” daily. ;) We did sign off on the frozen knee amendment as we entered FL. Our lawyer was “Dan GotMe”. How’s that chair?
We stayed at a community down here one year Nancy and every morning they would dig up the frost effected plants and replace them with new ones.
Hopefully everyone’s plants down here get covered and protected from the cold.
I should feed the kids. Lu-Ann is doing her PD Warrior workout.
Be good my friends.

Back from the Vet's...she believes last nights issue is just a flare up of the pancreatitis since Scooter won't eat the special cat food..and by giving her a dose of the medicine I had on hand seemed to have helped...she's back on the medicine for over the weekend & probiotic's for the next month...
Had "the talk" with the Vet & she agreed that the day may be coming when we stop treating all the issues that keep coming up...but it's not right now...It's about a 30 min drive to this vet office but all of the Dr's & staff are just so kind &
understanding...they offer treatment options...but never push you into doing something you don't want to do or can't afford...and for now...that makes it worth the drive...
Off to fix something warm & tasty & then just chill out...
