Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Lee: Thanks for the Serbian Christmas Greeting. And the reply would be:
Vaistno se Rodi. (truely he is born)

I think you need some BRAIN Therapy LEE. Taking those poor pups out to the waters edge when it's ZERO WIND CHILL. Are you CRAZY?? Wait.... don't answer that! :emoticon 0115 inlove:

I am trying to get rid of NOTIFICATIONS in my Facebook acct area. Every time I try to delete a notification of a comment on one of my posts I get this : QUERY ERROR. It's really ticking me off.

Had a bit of a fall the other night and went to the Emergency Room yesterday to make sure I hadn't done any damage to my repaired hip. They took X-rays and a CT scan and determined that there was no problem. However, it turns out that I have a hernia and need to see a local surgeon so I have an appointment on Monday to see him about dealing with it. Glad it wasn't the hip.
Kevin postponed his flight home to stay with us until tomorrow and that has been wonderful. I am feeling and getting around much better so we should be in good shape after he leaves.
Have been eating out and following Kevin's method of going to restaurants that we don't have back home works very well.
Have to get used to the channel set up on the TVs but at least most programs are now new and not repeats. Last night's Black List was quite different from most episodes but pretty good nonetheless. Patriots are playing Miami on Sunday so that will very likely be on the local CBS station. Go Pats.

o_O Actually Kathie, crazy as it sounded we were all, Humans and pups, warm as toast in our heavy winter coats. Katie and Ava were quite happy to get out. Even if we only did half the path.
Plus, we saw “Tiny Tim”, the little squirrel with a bad leg. We gave him a bunch of peanuts.
Holy jumpin’ Bill. That’s no way to start your winter get away! A case of looking for one thing and finding something else.
I was pleased with my trip to the car dealer. They replaced both fog lamp bulbs and I was on my way in about 1/2 an hour. And less than I expected to pay! They actually charged labour for how long it took. Not what the book says they could charge.
Time to feed the pups!
Have a good evening everyone.

Bill - I thought that episode of Blacklist last night was very good. It actually made me cry! Glad you're getting to try some different restaurants this year. Sorry about your fall though, but glad you didn't damage your hip. Good luck with the hernia check on Monday.

Lee - You gave me the chills seeing that picture of the Detroit River with ice on it. Your poor pups having to walk around near the water in that kind of cold.

Kathie - So even though you didn't go to church and aren't doing anything special, is there a special dinner you're making tonight for you and Art?

So now let me tell you about this cleaning lady. All I can say is OMG!!! She got here right on time and worked straight through for over 4 hours without even taking a break. Everything looks wonderful. We have no idea how much she charges, but have already made up our minds that even after G&E are gone, we will have her come once in a while. She's a very sweet lady who even brings all her own supplies. Of course, this time was harder for her to do with all the dog hair all over. Hopefully, next time will be much easier for her to do.

Think it's just about time to get off the computer for now and start thinking about dinner. The baked potatoes will take the longest to get ready, so that's where I will start. Have a great Friday evening, everyone, and I'll see you tomorrow.

Those restaurants were new to Kevin, BB, but ones we have enjoyed over several years, including one that you and Bert introduced us to a few years back.
Seeing pictures of the snow back home simply reinforces our opinion that heading down here when we did was a wise decision.

Morning!

Getting a home Covid test at a City park yesterday went smoothly and quicker than we expected. When we arrived at the site 50 minutes early there was about a quarter mile of cars in front of us. But it was a dry and sunny morning. The line-up of cars was on the wide berm of the street in front of the place. Wide because they built it that way for the Amish buggies, going to and from town.

They started handing out the test kits 15 minutes early, we got one, (One kit per car.), and were out of there in about a 1/2 hour. The line-up of cars was then well over 1/2 a mile.

Bruce has my sympathies for taking coumadin and having to do all that testing. When I first was put on blood thinners they put me on that, but not for long. My heart doctor soon switched me to a generic "Plavix" where there is no testing. And now years later he's got me on some name brand, and costly drug, which also doesn't need testing.

Bill, do you need to wear a shirt with an arrow on it that says, "This End Up"? Just happy you didn't break anything.

I'm delighted that your new cleaning lady is to your liking, BB. And is even punctual.

Hey Lee, any ice fishing on your agenda today?

I think you made the right decision in not attending your Christmas church service, K2. I too hate being around strangers who I don't know whether or not they're vaccinated. It's so neat going into factories and seeing how things are made.

Hiya KC!

My only big goal today is getting on the treadmill.

Good mornin’ everyone.
Not much going on today. I’m popping over to our friends to show them how to shut off their water and drain the lines. They’re heading south at some point and have never owned a single family home in Canada. A few more things to take care of before leaving it in the winter!
Sounds like you are really, really are impressed with the cleaning lady Pat.
Both of our teams should add a tick to the “W” column tomorrow Bill.
It sounds like your quest for a test kit went well Dave. Not like when they have them around here!
I think I’ll go get my fishin’ gear out. ;)

See you all later folks.

Well I guess when we go for testing on Monday will ask about the Plavix. It can't hurt to ask.

A late good morning. Well yesterday our cruise on Royal Caribbean for next month was canceled by them, so I started looking for another cruise same dates from same port and found a Celebrity so have booked that. Since we really enjoyed the first Celebrity, why not try another ship. We will go to pretty much the same ports as the Royal, of course the cost is more but that is okay. I have already booked a couple of excursions and today will look at one more port for an excursion as they require booked excursions.

Doing a load of laundry and may do another.

All have a great day.

Good morning.
Nice chatter on here.

I’m sitting in my car in the parking lot at the DENTISTS!
Art has 3 teeth in front on top that are permanent replacements and whatever you call them they are together and got loose and we are here getting them GLUED back on. Just lucky for Art that when I called early this morning it was their once a month Saturday time to be open. So hopefully it will be a quick fix.
Always something!
Art sure is starting the new year off with a bang.

Negc: Wow. Looks like you aren’t starting off your long vacation on the right footing. Glad you didn’t mess up your hip. All the best with the hernia. With all that is being said about cruise ships,EVERYWHERE, have sick Covid passengers aboard you and Rita might think about canceling your cruise. Just not worth the risk. The numbers are not looking good. How did you fall???

BB: So glad that the cleaning lady did a good job. Hope she was able to do your room & bathroom too!

Okay I need to go inside and see how Art is doing.

Lee glad you’re helping your neighbors out with how to get the pipes in the house ready for when they leave.

Later gang

Good afternoon, fellow cotton tails! Sure was a lot of chattering going on here since my last post. That's great. It gave me plenty to read as I drank a cup of tea.

Lee - Nice of you to help your neighbor winterize their house before heading for warmer climates. When will you get yours started?

Kathie - We didn't have the cleaning gal do our bedroom and bathroom this time. There's still too much stuff being stored in there for me to feel comfortable about having someone else clean the rooms. Until I have her do them, Bert will clean both rooms.

Dave - Good for you getting those covid test kits. Places here that have them have huge lines and run out all the time. Bert was complaining the other day when he went o the library, as they are doing testing in the library parking lot. He said it was a real madhouse trying to figure out which line and area you are supposed to be in.

I'm glad I stayed home.

Bill - You got me a bit confused about the restaurants. Of course you would know the ones in that area after all those years. Were you referring to Checkers as the one we introduced you to?

Time to look into getting something for lunch. Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Now Kathie, couldn’t Art have used some of the cement from his model car hobby to do those teeth? ;) Both Bill and Art are starting 2022 with a bang!
We really only need to turn the thermostat down, drop the temps in the what will be almost empty refrigerators and shut off the water Pat. I need to give the van a good cleaning inside and out on Tuesday. That gives us Wednesday to pack, do a clean of the house and head out first thing Thursday.
We’ve sailed Celebrity a couple of times Nancy. I think like most cruise lines the value in the second one wasn’t as good as the first one had been a few years earlier. I would go as far as to say that our group (Tony and family, Karen and the two of us) were quite disappointed at the quality of the meals at dinner.
The fridge and freezer are looking pretty sparse already. I see take away meals in my future!
Time to hit the old exercise equipment.
Be safe my friends.

None of us knew that the others were going into town for a walk. We all ended up at the same entrance to The Navy Yard! From left to right, Jan has Simon. Brenda and Doug have Peachy. Ava is next with our Katie in the green coating Lu-Ann. That's Dave in the back with their Katie.
The fun of living on The River in a small town that I like to call Amherstburg...

I think you meant Cheddar's, BB but the old auto correct struck again, but you are correct about where we dined. One of the others was a very good restaurant at the Vero Airport. The hostess there is a lady who has owned the place for the past 38 years and knew my mother when she lived in VB. Speaking of Kevin, he left for the airport this morning and when he arrived, his 4pm flight was posted as being delayed until 6:30 and an earlier flight to Boston was full. Instead, he got them to put him on a flight to Providence, RI and shortly before 5pm he called from there. Jamie will pick him up and they should be home well before that delayed Boston flight even takes off.
Two NFL games on today with the rest tomorrow and the regular season will have come to an end. From your lips to God's ear about the likelihood of our two teams winning tomorrow, Lee.
I guess I'll spend part of Monday writing out checks to the people in my football pool who emerged with a positive result. I find it interesting that one of my friends who has an almost insurmountable lead in the overall standings has yet to win a week. Just a steady performance every week, while one of the other fellows whose predictions have placed him in first place three times, isn't among the top six players in the overall standings.

Great picture, Lee. You and the pups sure are bundled up! Sounds like you're getting your act together to hit the road.
You're right about how cruising has changed and not necessarily for the best. On our first cruise, the second formal night was a complete NYE party with hats, noisemakers and champagne for everyone. Also can't forget the chocolate buffet and the grand buffet. Of course, as I kid I still remember going to a bon voyage party when my aunt and uncle were going on a cruise. Also remember hearing the announcement "all ashore who are going ashore". And then standing on the dock as the ship pulled away and the passengers threw streamers. Things were much more furmal in those days. Some for the better and some not so good.

Bill - You're right about Cheddars. I don't think we're been back there since the time we went with you. Can you believe that?

After Art came out of the dentists office we took a ride to Lake St Clair area to see if the ice was frozen or not.
Well, it was frozen close to shore in one area and the Silly Ice Fishermen were out there in the freezing windy cold. I could barely hold my camera steady to get a shot of them with the wind blowing so hard. They're NUTS. I have a video on my Fbook page of the the water and how rough it was at one area we stopped at. Brrrr

1641687570281.png Suppose to start raining and freezing tonight from 8pm to 4:00 a.m. Crazy weather. Up and down.

I know it's only the beginning of winter, but I want my butterflies back!

Great pictures of the purdy pooches, Lee. And very colorful outfits too. As for the humans.......I'll get back to you on that.

With your doctor's approval, I believe that Bruce will be so pleased with a generic form of Plavix, Nancy. At our local hospital they have a whole department that just tests those on Coumadin. Quite a big money-maker for them.

I'm like you BB on missing some of the pampered service these cruise lines no longer provide. For starters; Checking your bags at the airport, and next seeing them in your cabin. Chocolates on your pillow. A cabin attendant that had an assistant. Giving us envelopes for end of cruise tips, where now they automatically charge you for the tips whether or not a crew-member sucked. And now always feeling like we are being nickel-dimed to death.

K2; I can't figure out if Art's 3 front teeth are bonded together, or separate teeth that have crowns on them. It's just odd that they all went loose at the same time. Neat picture.

Before you start writing those checks and still have the gambling money Bill, it's time to buy your private Caribbean island, like the "Master" did.

After starting off the the last few days in the teens and 20's, we start today at 41. Problem is, that's all the higher it's suppose to get.

NOW WHERE'S MY BUTTERFLIES???

Good day, Eh?
Yes, we were all bundled up for our afternoon walk. Good to get us and them out for some fresh air.
Same here temperature wise Dave. It’s 38F right now and headed back down for a couple of days. Then back up. The blood thinner I’m on is Zarelto.
So far Nancy, the only thinner I’m on is the Zarelto. I sure hope the doc figures out a thinner that works for Bruce. We really enjoyed our Disney cruises. Food was amazing, service was top notch and the entertainment fantastic! We sailed on our own and with our then 4 1/2 year young niece.
A neat picture of the idiots on the ice Kathie. The ice was really flowing down river yesterday. I love the sound it makes as it crushes against itself. I trust all went well for Art at the dentist. Are his ribs coming along?
Any delayed aches or pains from the tumble Bill?
Yes Pat, more for less with cruising. When we sailed with Tony and family and Karen our table of eight hardly touched the Steak Neptune as it just wasn’t well prepared. Tony very quietly spoke with the waiter who basically said ”Oh, that’s too bad.” Back in the day everyone up to the Maître d’hotel would have been at the table, apologizing and replacing the meal.
We have to figure out what we need for food for the next four days and go get it. We’ve done a good job cleaning out the fridges and freezers. Almost too good a job!
Everyone stay safe! But above all else enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning, gang! Looks like we had a couple of early risers once again this morning. Not much planned for us today. G&E may drop off more of their plants today like they did yesterday. My lanai is going to get full of greenery once again.

Kathie - Your ice fishing picture gave me chills! I'd much rather look out the window at our lake. There's no ice fishing going on. Just bass fishing in boats!! I'll take our mid 80s, thank you very much!

Lee - I guess there is a good side to all the cuts they have made in cruising and that's the cost has gone down. We paid a lot more for our first cruise in a non balcony cabin than what we pay today for a balcony.

Dave - I forgot about your baggage collected at the airport and not seen again until it was in your cabin.

That's about it for me t his morning. Have a wonderful Sunday and I'll check back with you all later. In the meantime, have a wonderful, safe day.

Good morning. We have both front and back doors open but am sure that they will be closed soon enough, right now the temp is 77. Bruce just asked me about a shower seat he let me use last week and I had to tell him it is in my bathroom as I wanted to try it in the shower and really liked it so there it is staying.

Don't have any plans for today. Yesterday I booked a couple more excursions for the Feb cruise. So we are set.

Am wishing Bruce would find the glide pads so we can move my dresser.

All have a great day.
