Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Dang it’s chilly here this morning! Mid 40‘s F as I type.
Hopefully by now Karen is eight minutes into her trip to the airport.
I usually keep an eye on my batteries (the mower takes 2) and swap them about after the first one is charged Dave. I sit the a certain way once charged but I think I forgot to glance over at my shelf. Oh well, coffee and a butter tart never go amiss while I waited. Darkest chocolate sounds intriguing.
The big upset yesterday in college football, I think, was Perdue topping previously unbeaten Iowa Pat.
Best get Lu-Ann up and underway. They have yet another girls day. Lisa and Razzie head home tomorrow. It does seem that this area and everything it offers has gotten Lisa’s interest…
Back later my friends. You all take care.

Good morning from bright and beautiful Florida with low humidity. This is some change with the temp at 71. First time since last May we have seen temps and humidity like this!

Lee - The gals are really living it up this weekend, aren't they? Nice that you stay home to keep the home fires burning. Good idea cutting up the pizza into appetizer size bites. Jimmy did that with one of the pizzas we had the other night.

Dave - Those are some interesting sounding ice creams your daughter sent. Who are they made by? Sorry today is not a shorts wearing type day for you.

Kathie - Good for you going to church today, even if it was to hear the latest gossip at the church. Interesting that people donate to the choir specifically. I don't know of any other church that does that. Usually it's just a donation to the church in general.

Not a lot going on here today until we get to the antipasto later. Other than that, it's just going to be a hanging out day for us. M&J plan to take the kids to the pool for a few hours to use up some of their energy.

Now it's time for me to make some blueberry muffins for the gang for later. Have a wonderful day, everyone, stay safe and do what you need to do. I'll try to get back later, if I can. If not, see you tomorrow. :smilehn:

That's a nice looking house Pat. Once Missy, Jimmy and the gang get settled it will become a home. I can't get over how similar it looks to our place here in The Burg! Garage is on the other side and no mission tile roof. This was last year after the sod was laid and before the side fence was done.
IMG_4394.jpeg

I repeat, how far ahead do I need to order blueberry muffins?? We should be in FL in a scant three months!
I sure do hope that Kathie hasn't been kept back after church to explain where she's been lately!
I downloaded our COVID vaccination passports today. Slick as snot! Where did that expression originate? They have a QR code that can be scanned with all of the info about the shots we've had. Pretty neat. I have filed them in two places on my phone and printed a copy to keep with our passports.
Today I also got the annuals in the back gardens pulled out. I raked things over so we can start fresh in the spring.
Hopefully Lu-Ann will be home before too long so we can get the pups down to their Navy Yard for another walk before the girl gang goes to Pepper Cat for dinner. Pepper Cat is more of an upscale restaurant here in The Burg. It's located right beside Salty Dog. I'd rather go to The Dog if I were going. I guess that's why I'm not.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Sunday everyone.

Good Late Evening gang.

Lots of chatter on here today. Love it.

PAT: Love the picture of M&J's house. I must say seeing a grey roof in Florida is a PLEASANT surprise compared to the Mission Orange and Pink. Great choice. Won't be long now and you'll be EMPTY NESTERS again!
Your Antipasto salad looked amazing. Good job girl.

DAVE: GREEN is a nice color for a wheelbarrow. Ice cream flavors sound interesting.

Lee: I didn't have to stay after church. All was good. Same old Same old. Nothing changes no matter how long you are away. Choir meeting went good. We finally voted that if you've been in the hospital, had surgery, if a member or family member dies you DO NOT GET FLOWERS or gift certs anymore. I made a motion to donate $25 bucks to the Church either as a HEALTH PRAYER (which they do in our church) or a MEMORIAL PRAYER. Saves the choir all kinds of money. They were handing out $50 gift certs to restaurants and paying $75+ for flowers. Flowers at a funeral is just a TOTAL WASTE of MONEY. Only person that benefits it the FLORISTS.

Karen: Hope your flight was a smooth one. And hope they all liked your new hair color. :emoticon 0100 smile:

I'm tired and checking out for tonight. I have a lady coming by in the morning to measure for Plantation Shutters for the Bay Doorwall and 2 side windows in the eating area of the kitchen. If you hear a SCREAM it's just me when she give me the QUOTE. She did our 2 bathroom windows and I loved them. I can't wait any longer for quotes on getting this kitchen remodeled. I'm getting the doorwall done and will deal with the kitchen as soon as a contractor finds time to call me back. Crazy times. They're booking into late FEB, 2022 and March right now around here. I could be dead by then! Ha Ha. Well, at least I picked out the plots already just in case! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Nite.

Another week begins for us Bunnies. And mine starts once again in the 40's and will be lucky if it hits 60. But it'll be sunny all day, and that brings out the smiles on people.

Yes Lee, your house is very similar to M&J's. I have no idea where the phrase "slick as snot" came from. And I got all boogered up when I tried to look it up.

Thanks BB for posting the picture of M&J's house. Some of you have been talking about it, but I had no clue. As for the ice creams my daughter sent me, the brand name is "Jeni's".

K2; I was beginning to wonder if since you were there, did lightening strike your church? I see that you've been watching HGTV again.

I had a laugh last night from the label on, of all things, some deodorant. I use Right Guard and a stick deodorant by Old Spice. (How often do we read the labels on those things?)

Anyway, on the back of the Old Spice container it actually says;
Contains odor-fighting "atomic robots" that "shoot lasers" at your "stench monsters" and replaces them with fresh, clean, masculine "scent elves".

Somebody at that company has a sense of humor.

Our joy this morning is meeting with a fella that hopefully will set us up with a different, but just as good, Medicare supplement package. Our family doctor's office has decided not to accept our old supplement. A doctor we're very fond of and trust with our care.

So we need a new supplement that will be acceptable for her medical group, but also all the other specialists we go too.

Good Morning Wrabbits! Brrrr chilly here in the suburbs.

NEWS ALERT:
Colin Powell passed away. Always liked his straight forward approach on issues. RIP.

I'll be back. Need to get a cup of coffee and get some warm clothes on.

And DAVE.... how funny to read that on the deodorant label. I wonder just how many other folks have seen that!
And by the way, I've wanted those Shutters ever since the nice lady got us the ones in the bathroom. Nice clean look.

REGARDING COLIN POWELL......per his family.
He died of complications from Covid-19, his family said in a statement. He was fully vaccinated and was treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, his family said.

Be safe and don't let your guard down. This VIRUS is serious. Don't play games with it.

Good late morning, everyone! Another beautiful day here with low humidity and nice mild temps. What more could we ask for here?

Kathie - Glad the church roof didn't come crashing in when you showed up. Glad your choir meeting went well too. Good idea cutting back on gifts. Never heard of that either - a choir giving gifts out of their private funds. You Serbians are something else!! LOL
I saw that about Colin Powell too this morning. Just a shame.

Lee - I can tell that you're ready and raring to get across that border into the US. Will you make a trial trip over and see Kathie & Art? Might be a good idea to make sure everything you set up works before the BIG crossover for a couple of months. So did the gals make it back in time for you to get another walk in at the Navy Park? Boy, those gals are living high on the hog this weekend for sure. Lots of shopping and ending up with a special dinner. When's your turn for playing dog sitter?

Dave - Sorry to hear the weather has turned so cold up your way. Winter really is on the way and letting you know about it. Love what's on that deodorant container. That's really funny. It's amazing when you start to read some cans, containers and packages. People are so sue happy these days, they have to put all kinds of disclaimers on the product as stupid people do stupid things.

Our antipasto last night was so good and the best part is that we do still have enough left for tonight to go along with leftover wings. So no cooking for me today!! Here's a picture of the antipasto for those who can't se it on FB -

They will likely be fired! Is sure hope that your meeting with the medical insurance rep went well Dave. One thing I have to say that I'm glad we don't have to worry about! The origins of that phrase do seem to lead one around in circles.
I saw that Mr/ Powell passed away as well Kathie. Like you, he seemed to be a reasonable man no matter what position he held. He certainly did represent the United States of America with dignity. I think that your church made a good move to alter how they spend "discretionary" funds.
That platter looks good enough to eat Pat! Oh, that was the idea, wasn't it. I don't think that we'll be across the border before about 8:00 or 9:00 am on Thursday January 13, 20122. Not that I'm counting! It still would require us to get a negative covid test then 72 hours or less before we could come home. In the US that test is about $150 - $200 USD. Here we could get the test for about $75 - $100 CDN as long as we got the test, the results, went across and came back within 72 hours. Lisa's on her way home with Razzie now. I didn't have to pup sit for her this trip.
Speaking of pups, guess which two little pups are looking at me telling me it's time for their afternoon walk? With it getting darker sooner their afternoon foray to the park is even more important!
Bill, I watched The Pats / Cowboys game and NE gave it a good try.
You all be good and we'll see you tomorrow after cardiac rehab!

Saying good night from our little corner of the world. All the lemmings will be gathering for dinner soon, so it's time to get things organized for this evening. See you all tomorrow before my cardiologist appointment tomorrow. Sleey well, bunnies. :sleep002::sleepey smile::)

Art went and got his bald head ZAPPED today at the Dermo Dr! No need to DIG anything out. Whew. Just some of the high power freezing sprays. He didn't even cry! Ha Ha.

LEE: Those prices for Covid Tests for you Canadians is CRAZY. It's free here on for us. And you can get them often. Maybe things will change by the time you actually cross the border. I sure hope so.

Although a bit chilly today it was SUNNY and not a cloud in that beautiful blue sky.

I've been baking Serbian cookies. Sending some to my dear brother in Chicago. And some will get frozen for Thanksgiving. It's a new recipe and it turned out good!

Pat: Have fun with the gang tonight at dinner. I could use a plate full of your SALAD right about now.

The nice shutter lady came about 9:30 a.m. and did a good job of measuring the doorwall, side 2 bay windows and then the kitchen bay window and the laundry room regular window. Now we just have to pray once the order is sent to "CHINA" it won't get stuck in the bay by Los Angeles with all the other cargo ships that still need to get unloaded. I saw pictures of the dock area and it's overflowing with those train freight boxes that need to get on trains and trucks to get delivered. Not enough TRUCK DRIVERS out there to handle the MASSIVE amounts. So sad.
We're talking at least 2 months before this shutter order MIGHT be here. I can't wait to get rid of the vertical blinds that are in those areas now. It's TIME for a CHANGE! And if I can spend money on cemetery plots I can darn well spend money on SHUTTERS! Ha Ha.

Bill: I think I saw that your Patriots won their game? Yes??

DAVE: Are you getting use to looking at yourself in the mirror with shorter hair yet. Ha ha.
Were you able to find a plan so you can keep the same doctors you have now. Hope so.

OKay, back to my baking.

Colin Powell was a good soldier and a good guy. As I understand it, even though he was fully vaccinated he was also fighting a blood cancer and Parkinson's disease which greatly reduce your immunity. Plus his age of 84 didn't help either. BUT you know that the anti-vaxers will use his passing as saying, "I told you that the Covid vaccines don't work."

It looks like we should now be able to keep our current family doctor and all the specialists we frequent with a new Medicare supplement plan. Changing plans started to be available on Friday. But get this, a few of these large insurance companies still haven't set their prices for next year. Even though they are bombarding us with TV commercials to buy theirs. Hopefully that will all be cleared up in a week or two.

Speaking of doctors, I'm off to see my skin doctor this morning. It'll be interesting to see how many spots will be frozen, and samples taken from others to be tested for cancer.

That dish looks so yummy, BB. It reminds me of the Arby's commercial, "WE'VE GOT THE MEATS".

Your January 13th trip south is sooner than I expected, Lee. You might want to change the year though. Never imagined that it costs you Canadians so much to get those Covid tests to get back into Canada. I happened to be rooting for the winner in that Pats/Cowboys game. (Sorry Bill.)

K2; Don't they make any shutters that you like that they make in the U.S.A.? Yes I'm still getting used to my look with shorter hair. But the biggest thing to get used to is the feel of not having long hair. And not sitting down in a high back chair and have my hair pull on my skull when I move my head.

Warm up your howling Wabbits, there's a full moon tomorrow.

Sorry K2, the Pats lost the game in overtime but our disappointment in this outcome was more than taken care of by the Red Sox performance in games 2&3 of the ALCS. Grand slam homers galore and tremendous clutch pitching and fielding offers more than sufficient consolation. Two more wins and they will be going to yet another World Series. Have to love how many players are contributing to their impressive victories. Houston has to be a little shell-shocked at this point.
See the eye doctor tomorrow for the final followup from the cataract surgery.

Good morning, everyone!

Lee - WOW! Those are some prices to get the covid test done in Canada. Something in the medical field that is actually cheaper in this country. Surprised it isn't covered under that great medical care plan you have. I can see then why you won't be making many trips back and forth, if that keeps up.

Dave - About that salad, our smart a$$ grandson in Texas commented that it should have more meat! LOL

Time to get ready to head for the doctor's appointment. This should be short and sweet, or at least I hope it will. I'll be back later to give you all a report of how it went.

Quick HELLO GANG!

DAVE: So you must have FORHEAD WRINKLES now that your hair isn't PULLING your SKULL tight! You win some and lose some! HaHa.

PAT: Hope the Dr's appt went well.

Bill: oops......I must have heard that score wrong.

Lee: Hope you all enjoy TODAY and TOMORROW. Might be the LAST of 70's for a long time.

I'm off to PORCH DELIVER some of the yummy Apricot pastries I made last night to my dear friend Elaine. She's got a cold. Her doctor had her get tested for Covid just to be on the safe side. She hasn't gotten back the results yet. So I'm leaving the BAG of GOODIES on her porch.
I'm not taking any chances.

I made out a grocery list, but I'm not giving up this nice day to walk around in the store. It cn wait until tonight.

Karen: If you're reading along, I hope you're having a really good time in Maryland on your visit.

Later gang.
enjoy GIF

Bill: I think I saw that your Patriots won their game? Yes??
Kathie, that is just mean! I'm glad Bill set you straight.
Now, about those test prices...To this point we don't need a negative test to travel to the US by car. They are required if you fly. Again, to this point we DO need a negative test to get back home in March. Maybe by then the rules will change as long as we are double vaxed.
Ya Dave, I noticed a slip of the key with the date but thought that I'd simply say it was in honour of James T Kirk's birthday in the future. I hope that your trip to the doctor's is a successful one, like Art had, with little or no excavations.
Right you are about Mr. Powell. The gentleman had a number of medical conditions so why would anybody put the blame on "complications from Covid"? It simply gives the idiots more fire to play with. And that never ends well.
So many things are in limbo with the backups in the ports and driver shortages Kathie. It does sound like the lady did a nice job getting all of your windows measured. It was just a beautiful morning and afternoon down at the Navy Yard! They have cleaned out all of the gardens for winter. This afternoon they were cutting the grass and that in itself smelled really nice!
Well Pat, I guess if all of the meat disappeared before the rest of the platter of stuff your grandson was right! Hoping that your cardiologist's appointment went way better than you may have expected!
I do hope that "Auntie Karen" is having a great time in MD!
I'm off early tomorrow morning to get a COVID swab (negative! I hope) so I can start my External Beam Radiation Therapy on Monday morning at 7:15. Anyway, you all have a great rest of today and a fantastic tomorrow! We'll catch up then.

WOW LEE..... could you have gotten a EARLIER APPT for your BEAM session! You'll be on the road before you can walk the dogs!
Of course, you might avoid "SOME morning TRAFFIC"!! All the best with that. It takes longer to set you up on the BEAM TABLE than it does to ZAP you! But that's a good thing I guess. You'll get out of there faster and get home and have a lot of the day left to do your chores! :emoticon 0111 blush:

Made my deliver to Elaine of the pastries. She texted me that they were too good to eat. Ha Ha, but she indulged anyways! Glad I could make her feel better. I thought of how my dear
99 year old NICK would have loved to have some of them. It's hard not to think of him and my deliveries when I'm baking stuff! :emoticon 0152 heart: Miss that guy!

Our grocery store, as I think I mentioned, is still changing aisles around. CRAZY nuts. Some of the dairy stuff is now in a better place and some of the other items seem way out of place. As soon as they get totally done and get the SIGNS ABOVE each aisle in the right place it will be much easier to find things.

I'm out of here for now. Going outside to get the last of todays wonderful SUNSHINE. I think I'll put my helmet on and cruise the neighborhood on my bike!

Later.

Well Kathie, that’s why I was happy with my choice of times. Early morning or after 19:00 hrs. I hope to be home by 8:30 at the latest to get the pups out and get on with our day. :D
You should have taken a basket of treats on your bike ride so you could stop and share treats in your community!

Lee. If I went around trying to share my pastries #1 I might get shot and #2 somebody might call the police to put the nut case on the bike with a helmet in jail! Ha ha.

I did get a nice 2.25 mike bike ride in. Felt good to be on the bike.
