Hi, I’m Helen. I went on my first cruise in 1994 with my daughter as her h.s. graduation gift. There were 4 pairs of mothers and daughter….only a 5 day cruise. Have been on 12 more since then.

Hi John :)

Thanks for kicking us to start up again! I miss cruising. Have not been on one in a few years due to covid (and my wife telling me she does not appreciate them as much as me)

Hi- I’m Beth from Western New York State (south of Buffalo). My very first cruise was when I was 10 years old. My brother was a chaperone for a travel club at his high school and I got to go. It was on a Norwegian ship, in 1980. Then, my high school senior class took a “cruise to nowhere”. When I became a teacher and class advisor, I took two senior classes on cruises- the last in 2007. Since then I’ve cruised Carnival with hubby and kids 6 times. My youngest graduates high school this year and chose an 8 day cruise to Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and Half Moon Cay out of Baltimore the day after her graduation. We’re really excited, but reading a lot of reviews about staff shortages.

Hi I'm Patty and my cruise partner is Colin. We live just outside Canberra, Australia. I did my first cruise in 1992 on the Fairstar.

I've missed cruising so much - the first Australian cruise since the pandemic sailed out yesterday. I had desperately wanted to be on it but couldn't but I've consoled myself with saying it would have been very rough and I'd have gotten seasick (it was awful stormy weather yesterday and more predicted). I'm sure everyone on board is having a great time regardless.

My next cruise is booked for October on P&O Pacific Explorer (to Norfolk Island and Fiji) and it will be my 40th cruise, so there will be lots of celebrating.

Please give introduce yourself and let us know about all of suffering. I'll go first.

Hi Everyone, My name is John and I am a Cruise Addict. It all started with my first cruise in the Summer of 1989 aboard Chandris Line's MV Galileo Galilee. A lot of cruises later, here i am after all these years. My last cruise was aboard the Viking Octantis.

Ok, your next.
Hi! Mark and Linda from Lawrence, KS. We cruised many years ago on the Norwegian Norway and then a cruise with Carnival. Didn’t really appreciate the vibe with Carnival and quit cruising. About 15 years later…Here we are having cruised last Feb. on the Celebrity Reflection and LOVED it and now we are hooked!! Have a back to back booked next Feb. on the Celebrity Silhouette. Can’t wait! I did notice how much the ships have improved in their rocking and rolling……….or maybe I have grown less seasick! Can’t wait to try a transatlantic one of these days.

My name is Cheryl. My first cruise was 2000 I planned my family s first cruise. I didn’t know anything and flew in the same day as the cruise Needless to say flight was cancelled and I then scrambled. We made the ship at 3:50pm. We have done 32 cruises. Royal. Princess. Mostly carnival. My last cruise I planned was a surprise cruise for the grandkids on Disney dream booked in April 2019 for august 2020. Moved to 2021. Moved to 2022 And tried to move it to 2023. It doubled in price and I had to cancel I’m grateful no one else knew about it but I was heartbroken

Cruisers for the past few decades... Live on the beautiful Oregon coast. Just checking in per the emailed Web manager's request. Don't really spend much time on this forum ... but do so occasionally when a specific cruise or issue comes up .

Mike here from Seattle area. We took our first cruise in Oct 98 as a last minute anniversary trip. It was so much fun we've been on around 8 more. We mix it with other vacation types but look forward to our next one!

We love Oceania and Azmara, but go more often on Royal Caribbean due to the cost. I went on my first cruise for my 10th anniversary way back in 1983 in the Mediterranean and loved going to all those countries. We like to go on open ended cruises and stay a few days before the cruise and a few days at the end in a different country. My favorite cruise was an Oceania from Turkey through the Suez canal with nice stops in Egypt. We saw Petra and was amazed. Then got off the ship to fly to Deli and see the Taj. Back onto the ship through the Seychelle islands onto Madagascar and then off the ship for an overnight Safari. Back to the ship and off in Cape Town. Fabulous trip! another week and half to Victoria to play with lion cubs. Then up to the top of the falls in the "devil's pool". Then off to Botswana to play with elephants.

What a magnificant 35th anniversary trip! The best I've ever had!!!!

Greetings from SE Pennsylvania. My name is Leslie and my love for cruises began in 2002 aboard the Celebrity Mercury. I’ve been on 12 cruises (last one Panama Canal). It’s been a while since I’ve been on a cruise (life stuff), but hope to next year. Thanks for the email, John! I love the people around these parts.

I'm Joe, originally from Northern California but my wife (Karen) and I recently retired to Southern Arizona. Our first cruise was on the Carnival Elation in 1998 for the Mexican Riviera. After a couple of cancelled cruises the past few years we're headed on a British Isles cruise from Southampton this coming August. We've sailed primarily on Princess for the past decade.

Hi Everyone, Let me first say thank you for posting today. It made me very happy to see you all here checking in. I just need to ask you for a little more help:

Let's Build An Active Community (Again)

As many of you know Cruise Addicts was a community before the word "online community" was even used. Since our creation in 1999 many of us have sailed, laughed, celebrated, and cried together. As our lives have continued I have maintained this "home" for us all and I hope we can come back together and grow it for the future.

How can you HELP?

1. Word of mouth advertising - Share it with a cruising friend.
2. Social Media Shares - Share the forum homepage and posts on social media
3. Post a message and reply - No one wants to be on an inactive forum
4. Show some love - Visit our NEW Cruise Addicts Store - https://cruiseaddicts.myshopify.com/

Hi gang — Brent (and better half Barbara) from Evanston IL. Many cruises on Princess (Platinum level); our preferred line. Not fans of Royal Caribbean, Carnival and MSC. Going on first river cruise on Danube this August on Avalon.
Hi Brent and Barbara, Thank you for posting and joining our community! I look forward to reading your posts and comments. I know you are going to love river cruising. We have done two with Viking and they are so nice.

Hello, I'm Ray McDonald. Currently a Rancher in Texas but soon moving full-time to our Florida address. Thanks for the reminder. I will update my profile. Just completed my 181st cruise.
Hi Ray, Did you really say 181 cruises! That is amazing. What is your favorite cruise line or ship? Or do you like many types? Do tell? I would love to learn more about where you traveled during such a long history of cruising.

John
